< Jeremiah 48 >

1 Concerning Moab: 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo, for it is spoiled, Put to shame, captured hath been Kiriathaim, Put to shame hath been the high tower, Yea, it hath been broken down.
Konsènan Moab. Konsa pale SENYÈ dèzame yo, Bondye Israël la: “Malè a Nebo! Paske li fin detwi. Kirjathaïm te rive wont nèt. Li vin kaptire. Sitadèl la ki te leve byen wo a te fè wont. Li te vin kraze nèt.
2 There is no more praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised against it evil: Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, thou art cut off, After thee goeth a sword.
Pa genyen lwanj pou Moab ankò. Nan Hesbon, yo te fè plan pou malè li: ‘Vini, annou koupe retire l nèt pou l pa menm yon nasyon ankò!’ Nou menm tou, Madmen, va vin an silans. Nepe a va swiv nou.
3 A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction.
Bri a gwo kri k ap sòti Choronaïm; ravaj ak gwo destriksyon!
4 Destroyed hath been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones.
Moab fin kraze. Pitit li yo te fè yon kri detrès.
5 For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Go up doth weeping, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries a cry of desolation have heard.
Paske akote pant ki monte vè Luchith la, yo va monte avèk kri san rete. Paske nan pant ki desann kote Choronaïm nan, yo te tande gwo kri ak doulè akoz destriksyon an.
6 Flee ye, deliver yourselves, Ye are as a naked thing in a wilderness.
Chape poul nou, sove lavi nou, pou nou ka tankou yon bayawonn nan dezè a.
7 For, because of thy trusting in thy works, And in thy treasures, even thou art captured, And gone out hath Chemosh in a removal, His priests and his heads together.
Paske akoz konfyans nou mete nan pwòp zèv nou ak trezò pa nou; menm nou menm va vin kaptire. Kemosch va antre an egzil ansanm ak prèt li yo ak prens li yo.
8 And come in doth a spoiler unto every city, And no city doth escape, And perished hath the valley, And destroyed been the plain, as Jehovah said.
Yon destriktè va vini nan chak vil, pou pa gen vil ki chape; vale a, anplis, ap detwi, e wo plèn nan va detwi, jan SENYÈ a te pale a.
9 Give wings to Moab, for she utterly goeth out, And her cities are for a desolation, Without an inhabitant in them.
Bay zèl a Moab, paske li va sove ale; epi vil pa li yo va vin yon dezè, san moun ki pou rete ladan yo.
10 Cursed [is] he who is doing the work of Jehovah slothfully, And cursed [is] he Who is withholding his sword from blood.
“Malè a sila ki fè travay SENYÈ a ak neglijans, e malè a sila ki anpeche nepe l vèse san.
11 Secure is Moab from his youth, And at rest [is] he for his preserved things, And he hath not been emptied out from vessel unto vessel, And into captivity he hath not gone, Therefore hath his taste remained in him, And his fragrance hath not been changed.
“Moab te alèz depi nan jenès li; anplis, li pa t janm deranje. Tankou diven ki rete nan boutèy orijinal, ki pa t vide de veso a veso, nonplis li pa t janm ale an egzil. Akoz sa, li kenbe bon gou li, ni odè li pa chanje.
12 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent to him wanderers, And they have caused him to wander, And his vessels they empty out, And his bottles they dash in pieces.
Akoz sa, gade byen, jou yo ap vini”, deklare SENYÈ a: “lè Mwen va voye kote li sila ki chavire bato yo e yo va chavire li, yo va vide veso li yo e kraze tout bokal li yo.
13 And ashamed hath been Moab because of Chemosh, As the house of Israel have been ashamed Because of Beth-El their confidence.
Epi Moab va wont pou Kemosch, menm jan lakay Israël te wont pou Béthel, konfyans pa yo.
14 How do ye say, We [are] mighty, And men of strength for battle?
“Kòman nou ka di: ‘Nou se vanyan gèrye e moun plen kouraj pou batay’?
15 Spoiled is Moab, and her cities hath one gone up, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.
Moab fin detwi nèt, e moun fin monte kote vil li yo; anplis, jenn mesye pi chwazi li yo fin tonbe nan gwo masak,” deklare Wa a, ki pote non a SENYÈ dèzame yo.
16 Near is the calamity of Moab to come, And his affliction hath hasted exceedingly.
“Gwo dega Moab la prèt pou rive e malè li va chofe rive vit.
17 Bemoan for him, all ye round about him, And all knowing his name, say ye: How hath it been broken, the staff of strength, The rod of beauty.
Fè dèy pou li, nou menm tout ki antoure li, menm nou menm tout ki te konnen non li, di: ‘Gade kijan gwo fòs baton wayal la fin kase, yon baton ki te tèlman bèl!’
18 Come down from honour, sit in thirst, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, For a spoiler of Moab hath come up to thee, He hath destroyed thy fenced places.
O fi ki rete Dibon an, “Desann kite glwa ou pou vin chita sou tè sèk; paske destriktè Moab la te vin kont ou. Li te detwi sitadèl ou yo.
19 On the way stand, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What hath happened?
Kanpe akote wout la pou veye, O moun ki rete Aroër. Mande gason ‘ki moun ki sove ale a’? E fi a ‘ki moun ki chape poul li a’? Mande: ‘Kisa ki te pase?’
20 Put to shame hath been Moab, For it hath been broken down, Howl and cry, declare ye in Arnon, For spoiled is Moab,
Moab fin fè wont nèt, paske li fin kraze nèt. Fè gwo kri, rele anmwey! Deklare akote Rivyè Arnon an ke Moab te fin detwi.
21 And judgment hath come in unto the land of the plain — unto Holon, And unto Jahazah, and on Mephaath,
Jijman fin rive sou plèn nan tou, sou Holon, sou Jahats e kont Méphaath,
22 And on Dibon, and on Nebo, And on Beth-Diblathaim, and on Kirathaim,
Sou Dibon, sou Nebo, sou Beth-Diblathaïm,
23 And on Beth-Gamul, and on Beth-Meon,
Sou Kirjathaïm sou Beth-Gamul, sou Beth-Meon,
24 And on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, And on all cities of the land of Moab, The far off and the near.
Sou Kerijoth, sou Botsra, sou tout vil nan peyi Moab yo, ni lwen, ni pre.
25 Cut down hath been the horn of Moab, And his arm hath been broken, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Kòn Moab te fin koupe nèt e bra li te fin kase,” deklare SENYÈ a.
26 Declare ye him drunk, For against Jehovah he made himself great And Moab hath stricken in his vomit, And he hath been for a derision — even he.
“Fè l vin sou, paske li te plen ògèy anvè SENYÈ a. Pou sa, Moab va vire tounen nan vomisman li, e anplis, li va vin yon rizib pou tout moun ka ri.
27 And was not Israel the derision to thee? Among thieves was he found? For since thy words concerning him, Thou dost bemoan thyself.
Alò, èske nou pa t konsidere Israël kon yon rizib? Oswa, èske se pami volè li te tonbe? Paske chak fwa nou pale sou li, nou souke tèt nou konsi n ap giyonnen li.
28 Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, Ye inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit's mouth.
Kite vil yo pou rete nan kav wo yo, O moun Moab yo! Fè tankou toutrèl ki fè nich li dèyè bouch gwo kav yo.
29 We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,
“Nou konn tande afè ògèy Moab la. Li vrèman ògeye nan ensolans li, ògèy li, awogans kè li, ak leve pwòp tèt li byen wo.
30 I — I have known, an affirmation of Jehovah, His wrath, and [it is] not right, His devices — not right they have done.
Mwen konnen gwo kòlè li,” deklare SENYÈ a: “Men sa initil; gwo ògèy li a pa reyisi anyen.
31 Therefore for Moab I howl, even for Moab — all of it, I cry for men of Kir-Heres, it doth mourn,
Pou sa, mwen va rele anmwey pou Moab, menm pou tout Moab mwen va rele fò. Mwen va plenyen ak tristès pou mesye a Kir-Hérès yo.
32 With the weeping of Jazer, I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah, Thy branches have passed over a sea, Unto the sea of Jazer they have come, On thy summer fruits, and on thy harvest, A spoiler hath fallen.
Plis ke kriye pou Jaezer, mwen va kriye pou ou, O chan rezen Sibma a. Chan rezen nou yo te lonje rive lòtbò lanmè a. Yo te rive nan lanmè Jaezer a. Sou fwi gran sezon ak rekòlt rezen nou, destriktè a vin tonbe.
33 And removed hath been joy and gladness From the fruitful field, Even from the land of Moab, And wine from wine-presses I have caused to cease, Shouting doth not proceed, The shouting [is] no shouting!
Konsa, lajwa ak kè kontan vin retire nan chan plen ak fwi a, menm nan Moab. Epi Mwen te fè diven vin sispann nan pèz diven yo. Pèsòn p ap foule yo ak gwo kri. Kri ki genyen, se ke pa gen kriye menm.
34 Because of the cry of Heshbon unto Elealeh, Unto Jahaz they have given their voice, From Zoar unto Horonaim, A heifer of the third [year], For even waters of Nimrim become desolations.
Soti nan gwo kri Hesbon an, menm rive Élealé, menm nan Jahats, yo te leve vwa yo, soti Tsoar, jis rive Choronaïm, jiska Églath-Schelischija; paske dlo a Nimrim yo va anplis vin dezole.
35 And I have caused to cease to Moab, An affirmation of Jehovah, Him who is offering in a high place, And him who is making perfume to his god.
M ap fè Moab fini nèt”, deklare SENYÈ a: “Sila ki ofri sakrifis sou wo plas yo e sila ki brile lansan a dye li yo.
36 Therefore my heart for Moab as pipes doth sound, And my heart for men of Kir-Heres As pipes doth sound, Therefore the abundance he made did perish.
Akoz sa, kè M kriye pou Moab tankou flit; kè M kriye tou pou mesye Kir-Hérès yo. Akoz yo te pèdi tout abondans li te konn pwodwi.
37 For every head [is] bald, and every beard diminished, On all hands cuttings, and on the loins — sackcloth.
Paske tout tèt vin chòv e tout bab vin koupe kout; genyen blesi sou tout men yo ak twal sak sou kwis.
38 On all roofs of Moab, and in her broad-places, All of it — [is] lamentation, For I have broken Moab as a vessel in which there is no pleasure, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Sou tout twati a Moab yo ak nan lari yo, se lamantasyon tout kote; paske mwen te kraze Moab kon yon veso san valè,” deklare SENYÈ a.
39 How hath it been broken down! they have howled, How hath Moab turned the neck ashamed, And Moab hath been for a derision. And for a terror to all round about her.
“A la kraze li kraze! Yo te rele anmwey. Gade kijan Moab te vire do li—li vin wont nèt! Konsa, Moab va vin yon rizib ak yon objè degoutan a tout moun ki antoure li yo.”
40 For thus said Jehovah: Lo, as an eagle he doth flee, And hath spread his wings unto Moab.
Paske konsa pale SENYÈ a: “Gade byen, li va vole rapid tankou èg e lonje zèl li ouvri kont Moab.
41 Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Hath been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman.
Kerijoth te fin kaptire e sitadèl yo te vin pran. Kè a mesye pwisan Moab yo nan jou sa a, va tankou kè a yon fanm k ap pouse pitit.
42 And Moab hath been destroyed from [being] a people, For against Jehovah he exerted himself.
Moab va detwi jiskaske li vin pa yon pèp ankò, akoz li te vin awogan anvè SENYÈ a.
43 Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [are] for thee, O inhabitant of Moab — an affirmation of Jehovah,
Gwo laperèz devan twou fòs, ak pèlen ap vini sou nou, O moun Moab yo,” deklare SENYÈ a.
44 Whoso is fleeing because of the fear falleth into the snare, And whoso is coming up from the snare is captured by the gin, For I bring in unto her — unto Moab — The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.
“Sila ki sove ale devan gwo laperèz la, va tonbe nan fòs la e sila ki monte sòti nan fòs la, va kenbe nan pèlen an; paske Mwen va mennen sou li, menm sou Moab, ane a pinisyon yo”, deklare SENYÈ a.
45 In the shadow of Heshbon stood powerless have fugitives, For fire hath gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from within Sihon, And it consumeth the corner of Moab, And the crown of the sons of Shaon.
“Nan lonbraj Hesbon, mesye ki chape yo rete san fòs; paske dife a parèt sòti nan Hesbon, yon flanm soti nan mitan Sihon e li te devore fwontèn tèt a Moab ak zo bwa tèt mò a banbochè yo.
46 Woe to thee, O Moab, Perished hath the people of Chemosh, For thy sons were taken with the captives, And thy daughters with the captivity.
Malè pou ou, Moab! Pèp Kemosch la fin peri; paske fis nou yo vin prizonye e fi nou yo ale an kaptivite.
47 And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Moab, In the latter end of the days, An affirmation of Jehovah! Hitherto [is] the judgment of Moab.
“Malgre sa, Mwen va restore Moab nan dènye jou yo,” deklare SENYÈ a. Jiska prezan, jijman an rive sou Moab.
