< Jeremiah 48 >

1 Concerning Moab: 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo, for it is spoiled, Put to shame, captured hath been Kiriathaim, Put to shame hath been the high tower, Yea, it hath been broken down.
Misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, Israel Sithaw mah, Moab misa haih lok to hae tiah thuih; Nebo loe khosak bing! Amro boeh; Kiriathaim loe azat paw moe, naeh ah oh boeh; Misgab doeh azat paw moe, tasoeh boeh.
2 There is no more praise of Moab, In Heshbon they devised against it evil: Come, and we cut it off from [being] a nation, Also, O Madmen, thou art cut off, After thee goeth a sword.
Moab loe mi mah doeh pakoeh mak ai boeh; anih paduek hanah Heshbon ah kasae pacaenghaih to oh; angzo oh, acaeng maeto ah ohhaih to anghmasak ving si, tiah a thuih o. Aw Madmen vangpui, nang loe sumsen mah patom tih.
3 A voice of a cry [is] from Horonaim, Spoiling and great destruction.
Horonaim ah lomhaih hoi kalen parai amrohaih to oh pongah, qahhaih hoi hanghaih lok to oh.
4 Destroyed hath been Moab, Caused a cry to be heard have her little ones.
Moab loe amro boeh pongah, anih ih caa nawktanawk loe qah o.
5 For the ascent of Luhith with weeping, Go up doth weeping, For in the descent of Horonaim Adversaries a cry of desolation have heard.
Luhith bangah a caeh o tahang naah, nihcae loe apet ai qahhaih hoiah ni caeh o tahang; Honoraim bangah caeh o tathuk naah doeh, amrohaih pongah qahhaih lok to misanawk mah thaih o.
6 Flee ye, deliver yourselves, Ye are as a naked thing in a wilderness.
Na hinghaih loih thai hanah cawn ah loe, praezaek ih thing baktiah om ah.
7 For, because of thy trusting in thy works, And in thy treasures, even thou art captured, And gone out hath Chemosh in a removal, His priests and his heads together.
Na sak ih hmuen hoi nang raenghaih to nang oep haih pongah, nang doeh na naeh o toeng tih; Khemosh doeh angmah ih qaimanawk, angmah ih angraengnawk hoi nawnto misong ah caeh tih.
8 And come in doth a spoiler unto every city, And no city doth escape, And perished hath the valley, And destroyed been the plain, as Jehovah said.
Angraeng mah thuih ih lok baktih toengah, vangpui boih ah parokung to angzo tih, vangpui maeto doeh loih mak ai; azawn doeh anghmaa ueloe, tangtling doeh amro tih.
9 Give wings to Moab, for she utterly goeth out, And her cities are for a desolation, Without an inhabitant in them.
Azawk ving hanah Moab han pakhraeh to paek ah; to ah kaom vangpuinawk loe angqai krang tih; a thungah kami om mak ai.
10 Cursed [is] he who is doing the work of Jehovah slothfully, And cursed [is] he Who is withholding his sword from blood.
Alinghaih hoiah Angraeng ih toksah kami loe kasae tong nasoe loe, athii longsak ai ah sumsen kasuem kami loe kasae tong nasoe!
11 Secure is Moab from his youth, And at rest [is] he for his preserved things, And he hath not been emptied out from vessel unto vessel, And into captivity he hath not gone, Therefore hath his taste remained in him, And his fragrance hath not been changed.
Moab loe thendoeng na hoi boeh ni, kamongah khosak, a ohhaih ahmuen ah oh poe, anih loe misong ah doeh caeh vai ai, anih loe pailang maeto hoi maeto ah pakong vai ai ih misurtui baktiah oh pongah, a khraemhaih anghmaa ai baktih toengah, ahmui doeh amkhrai ai.
12 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent to him wanderers, And they have caused him to wander, And his vessels they empty out, And his bottles they dash in pieces.
To pongah khenah, anih khaeah misurtui pakong kaminawk patoehhaih ni to angzo tih; nihcae mah misurtui to krai pae o ueloe, pailangnawk to pakhoih pae o boih tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
13 And ashamed hath been Moab because of Chemosh, As the house of Israel have been ashamed Because of Beth-El their confidence.
Israel imthung takoh loe a oep o ih Bethel pongah azat paw o baktih toengah, Moab doeh Khedesh pongah azat paw toeng tih.
14 How do ye say, We [are] mighty, And men of strength for battle?
Kaicae loe thacak kami, misatuh thaih kami ni, tiah kawbangmaw na thui o thai tih?
15 Spoiled is Moab, and her cities hath one gone up, And the choice of its young men Have gone down to slaughter, An affirmation of the King, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.
Moab loe amro boeh moe, vangpuinawk doeh phraek pae o boeh; a qoih ih kranghoih parai thendoengnawk doeh hum hanah caeh o tathuk boeh, tiah misatuh kaminawk ih Angraeng, tiah ahmin kaom, Siangpahrang mah thuih.
16 Near is the calamity of Moab to come, And his affliction hath hasted exceedingly.
Moab amrohaih ni loe zoi boeh, anih patangkhanghaih loe karangah angzoh boeh.
17 Bemoan for him, all ye round about him, And all knowing his name, say ye: How hath it been broken, the staff of strength, The rod of beauty.
Anih taengah kaom kaminawk boih, anih to qah o haih ah; anih ih ahmin panoek kaminawk boih, Thacak cunghet, kranghoih cung loe kawbangmaw angkhaeh ving halat! tiah thui oh.
18 Come down from honour, sit in thirst, O inhabitant, daughter of Dibon, For a spoiler of Moab hath come up to thee, He hath destroyed thy fenced places.
Aw Dibon ah kaom canu, na lensawkhaih hoi anghum tathuk ah loe, tui anghaehhaih hoiah anghnu ah; Moab paro kami to nangcae khaeah angzo ueloe, anih mah kacak na buephaih to phrae tih.
19 On the way stand, and watch, O inhabitant of Aroer, Ask the fugitive and escaped, Say, What hath happened?
Aroer ah kaom kaminawk, lamtaeng ah angdoe oh loe khen oh; timaw na sak o? tiah kacawn nongpa hoi kaloih nongpata to dueng oh.
20 Put to shame hath been Moab, For it hath been broken down, Howl and cry, declare ye in Arnon, For spoiled is Moab,
Moab loe azathaih tong moe, amtim boeh; hang oh loe, qah oh; Moab loe amro boeh, tiah Ammon ah thui oh.
21 And judgment hath come in unto the land of the plain — unto Holon, And unto Jahazah, and on Mephaath,
Lokcaekhaih loe tangtling prae ah kaom, Holon, Jahazah hoi Mephaath,
22 And on Dibon, and on Nebo, And on Beth-Diblathaim, and on Kirathaim,
Dibon, Nebo hoi Beth Diblathaim,
23 And on Beth-Gamul, and on Beth-Meon,
Kirjathaim, Beth Gamul hoi Beth Meon,
24 And on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, And on all cities of the land of Moab, The far off and the near.
Kerioth hoi Bozrah, to tiah kaom hmuen loe kazoi kangthla tih ai, Moab prae thung ih vangpuinawk boih nuiah om tih.
25 Cut down hath been the horn of Moab, And his arm hath been broken, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Moab ih takii to boeng pae ving boeh, a ban doeh angkhaeh boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
26 Declare ye him drunk, For against Jehovah he made himself great And Moab hath stricken in his vomit, And he hath been for a derision — even he.
Angraeng hmaa ah angmah hoi angmah amoek pongah, anih to mu paqui o sak ah; Moab loe angmah ih tamlok nuiah amlet ueloe, kami mah pahnui thui tih.
27 And was not Israel the derision to thee? Among thieves was he found? For since thy words concerning him, Thou dost bemoan thyself.
Israel loe na pahnui o thuih han ih na ai maw oh? Anih to kamqunawk salakah na hnuk o vai maw? Anih kawng thuih kruek pahnui thuih hanah lu na haek thuih.
28 Forsake cities, and dwell in a rock, Ye inhabitants of Moab, And be as a dove making a nest in the passages of a pit's mouth.
Moab ah kaom kaminawk, vangpuinawk to caeh o taak ah loe lungsong thungah om oh; thlung khaw taengah tabu bop pahuu baktiah om oh.
29 We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Exceeding proud! His haughtiness, and his arrogance, And his pride, and the height of his heart,
Moab amoekhaih, anih amoek hmoekhaih, anih amkoehhaih, a poeksanghaih, amoekhaih, kasang a poekhaih palungthin to ka thaih o boeh.
30 I — I have known, an affirmation of Jehovah, His wrath, and [it is] not right, His devices — not right they have done.
Anih palungphuihaih doeh ka panoek, toe azom pui ni, a thuih ih amsawnlok loe tiah doeh angcoeng mak ai, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
31 Therefore for Moab I howl, even for Moab — all of it, I cry for men of Kir-Heres, it doth mourn,
To pongah Moab to ka hangh thuih moe, Moab kaminawk boih ka qah haih han; Kir Hares kaminawk to palung ka set haih han.
32 With the weeping of Jazer, I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah, Thy branches have passed over a sea, Unto the sea of Jazer they have come, On thy summer fruits, and on thy harvest, A spoiler hath fallen.
Aw Sibmah ih misurkung, Jazer ka qah haih pongah loe, nang to kang qah haih han; nang ih tadoknawk loe tuipui khoek to phak o, Jazer tuipui khoek to amzam; parokung mah nipui tue ih na thingthai hoi na misurthaih to ang paro pae boeh.
33 And removed hath been joy and gladness From the fruitful field, Even from the land of Moab, And wine from wine-presses I have caused to cease, Shouting doth not proceed, The shouting [is] no shouting!
Thingthai pop parai kathai lawk, anghoehaih hoi oephaih loe Moab prae hoiah lak ving ah oh boeh; misurthaih pasawhhaih ahmuen hoiah misurtui to ka boengsak boeh; misurthaih to anghoehaih lok hoiah kae o mak ai; anghoehaih lok loe anghoehaih lok ah om mak ai boeh.
34 Because of the cry of Heshbon unto Elealeh, Unto Jahaz they have given their voice, From Zoar unto Horonaim, A heifer of the third [year], For even waters of Nimrim become desolations.
Nihcae qahhaih lok loe Heshbon, Elealeh hoi Jahaz khoek to amthang, nihcae loe saning thumto kaom, maitaw tala baktiah hang o; hanghaih lok loe Zoar, Horonaim khoek to amthang; Nimrim ih tuinawk doeh kang boih tih.
35 And I have caused to cease to Moab, An affirmation of Jehovah, Him who is offering in a high place, And him who is making perfume to his god.
Hmuensang ah angbawnhaih sah kami, angmah ih sithawnawk khaeah hmuihoih thlaek kami to Moab prae thungah kam rosak boih han, tiah Angreng mah thuih.
36 Therefore my heart for Moab as pipes doth sound, And my heart for men of Kir-Heres As pipes doth sound, Therefore the abundance he made did perish.
To pongah kami duek naah ueng ih tamoi lok baktiah, Moab to ka qah haih moe, Kir Hares kaminawk han doeh palung thung hoi ka qah haih han; nihcae mah tawnh o ih hmuenmaenawk loe amro boih tih.
37 For every head [is] bald, and every beard diminished, On all hands cuttings, and on the loins — sackcloth.
Lu sam to aat o boih ah loe, pahni mui doeh ataep o boih ah; ban to aat o boih ah loe, kaeng ah kazii to angzaeng oh.
38 On all roofs of Moab, and in her broad-places, All of it — [is] lamentation, For I have broken Moab as a vessel in which there is no pleasure, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Moab loe patoh han kahoih ai laom baktiah ka koihsak boeh pongah, Moab kaminawk ih imphu hoi loklamnawk boih ah qahhaih loknawk to om tih, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
39 How hath it been broken down! they have howled, How hath Moab turned the neck ashamed, And Moab hath been for a derision. And for a terror to all round about her.
Nihcae mah Moab loe amro ving boeh moe, azat loiah hnuk angnawn ving boeh, tiah hang o tih; Moab loe kami mah pahnui thuih han ih ni oh boeh, a taengah kaom kaminawk loe zit kaom kami ah ni oh o boeh, tiah a thuih.
40 For thus said Jehovah: Lo, as an eagle he doth flee, And hath spread his wings unto Moab.
Angraeng mah, Khenah, tahmu to azawk ueloe, Moab nuiah pakhraeh payangh tih.
41 Captured have been the cities, And the strongholds are caught, And the heart of the mighty of Moab Hath been in that day as the heart of a distressed woman.
Kerioth to naeh ueloe, kacak sipae doeh la tih; to na niah Moab misatuh kaminawk ih palungthin loe caa tapen tom nathuem ah nongpata mah tongh ih kana baktiah om tih.
42 And Moab hath been destroyed from [being] a people, For against Jehovah he exerted himself.
Angraeng khaeah amoek pongah, Moab loe acaeng maeto ah oh han ai ah paro tih.
43 Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [are] for thee, O inhabitant of Moab — an affirmation of Jehovah,
Aw Moab kaminawk, zithaih, kathuk tangqom hoi thaang mah nangcae to zing boeh, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
44 Whoso is fleeing because of the fear falleth into the snare, And whoso is coming up from the snare is captured by the gin, For I bring in unto her — unto Moab — The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Zit hoiah kacawn kami loe tangqom thungah krah tih; tangqom thung hoi kaloih kami loe thaang pongah aman tih; Moab nuiah thuitaekhaih saning to ka phaksak han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih.
45 In the shadow of Heshbon stood powerless have fugitives, For fire hath gone forth from Heshbon, And a flame from within Sihon, And it consumeth the corner of Moab, And the crown of the sons of Shaon.
Misa zit pongah Heshbon tlim ah kacawn kami loe, bomkung om ai ah angdoe sut tih; to naah Heshbon hoiah hmai to tacawt tih; Sihon a um hoiah hmaipalai to angthawk ueloe, Moab ih lupataeh hoi amoek kaminawk ih luhuhnawk to kangh tih.
46 Woe to thee, O Moab, Perished hath the people of Chemosh, For thy sons were taken with the captives, And thy daughters with the captivity.
Aw Moab! Khosak na bing! Khemosh ih kaminawk loe anghmaa o boih tih; na capanawk hoi na canunawk to misong ah caeh o haih boih boeh.
47 And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Moab, In the latter end of the days, An affirmation of Jehovah! Hitherto [is] the judgment of Moab.
Toe hnukkhuem niah loe Moab to misong angtanghaih thung hoiah ka hoih let han, tiah Angraeng mah thuih. Moab nuiah lokcaekhaih loe hae ah boeng boeh.
