Jeremiah 37
1 And reign doth king Zedekiah son of Josiah instead of Coniah son of Jehoiakim whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon had caused to reign in the land of Judah,
ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଯିହୋୟାକୀମ୍ର ପୁତ୍ର କନୀୟର ପଦରେ ଯୋଶୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜା ହୋଇ ରାଜତ୍ୱ କଲା; ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍ନିତ୍ସର ତାହାକୁ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶର ରାଜା କରିଥିଲା।
2 and he hath not hearkened, he, and his servants, and the people of the land, unto the words of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of Jeremiah the prophet.
ମାତ୍ର ସେ, କିଅବା ତାହାର ଦାସମାନେ ଅବା ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ଲୋକମାନେ, ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ୱାରା କଥିତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।
3 And Zedekiah the king sendeth Jehucal son of Shelemiah, and Zephaniah son of Maaseiah the priest, unto Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 'Pray, we beseech thee, for us unto Jehovah our God.'
ପୁଣି, ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜା ଶେଲିମୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର ଯିହୁଖଲକୁ ଓ ମାସେୟର ପୁତ୍ର ସଫନୀୟ ଯାଜକକୁ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ପଠାଇ କହିଲା, “ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛୁ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପରମେଶ୍ୱରଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କର।”
4 And Jeremiah is coming in and going out in the midst of the people, (and they have not put him in the prison-house),
ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଗତାୟାତ କରୁଥିଲେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ତାଙ୍କୁ କାରାଗାରରେ ବନ୍ଦୀ କରି ନ ଥିଲେ।
5 and the force of Pharaoh hath come out of Egypt, and the Chaldeans, who are laying siege against Jerusalem, hear their report, and go up from off Jerusalem.
ଆଉ, ଫାରୋର ସୈନ୍ୟ ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ବାହାର ହୋଇ ଆସିଥିଲେ; ଏଣୁ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ଅବରୋଧକାରୀ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସମାଚାର ଶୁଣି ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ଚାଲିଗଲେ।
6 And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah the prophet, saying:
ସେତେବେଳେ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା,
7 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Thus do ye say unto the king of Judah, who is sending you unto Me, to seek Me: Lo, the force of Pharaoh that is coming out to you for help hath turned back to its land, to Egypt,
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; “ଆମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ପଚାରିବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଅଛି ଯେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା, ତାହାକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି କଥା କହିବ: ‘ଦେଖ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସାହାଯ୍ୟ ପାଇଁ ଫାରୋର ଯେଉଁ ସୈନ୍ୟ ବାହାରି ଆସିଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନେ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ନିଜ ଦେଶ ମିସରକୁ ଫେରିଯିବେ।
8 and the Chaldeans have turned back, and fought against this city, and captured it, and burnt it with fire.
ପୁଣି, କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଆସି ଏହି ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରିବେ ଓ ସେମାନେ ତାହା ହସ୍ତଗତ କରି ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବେ।’
9 'Thus said Jehovah: Lift not up your souls saying, The Chaldeans surely go from off us, for they do not go;
ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନେ ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଚାଲିଯିବେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି କଥା କହି ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କୁ ଭୁଲାଅ ନାହିଁ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଯିବେ ନାହିଁ।
10 for though ye had smitten all the force of the Chaldeans who are fighting with you, and there were left of them wounded men — each in his tent — they rise, and have burnt this city with fire.'
ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଯୁଦ୍ଧକାରୀ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ସମୁଦାୟ ସୈନ୍ୟକୁ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ହତାହତ କଲେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଯଦ୍ୟପି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେବଳ ଆହତ ଲୋକ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହନ୍ତି, ତଥାପି ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଲୋକ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁରୁ ଉଠିବେ ଓ ଏହି ନଗରକୁ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବେ।”
11 And it hath come to pass, in the going up of the force of the Chaldeans from off Jerusalem, because of the force of Pharaoh,
କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ସୈନ୍ୟ ଯେଉଁ ସମୟରେ ଫାରୋର ସୈନ୍ୟ ଭୟରେ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ଚାଲି ଯାଇଥିଲେ, ସେସମୟରେ ଏପରି ଘଟିଥିଲା ଯେ,
12 that Jeremiah goeth out from Jerusalem to go [to] the land of Benjamin, to receive a portion thence in the midst of the people.
ଯିରିମୀୟ ଆପଣା ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଆପଣାର ପ୍ରାପ୍ୟ ଅଂଶ ପାଇବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ପ୍ରଦେଶକୁ ଯିବା ପାଇଁ ଯିରୂଶାଲମରୁ ବାହାରିଲେ।
13 And it cometh to pass, he is at the gate of Benjamin, and there [is] a master of the ward — and his name is Irijah son of Shelemiah, son of Hananiah — and he catcheth Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 'Unto the Chaldeans thou art falling.'
ପୁଣି, ସେ ବିନ୍ୟାମୀନ୍ ନାମକ ନଗର-ଦ୍ୱାରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେବା ବେଳେ ସେଠାରେ ପ୍ରହରୀଗଣର ଜଣେ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ଥିଲା, ତାହାର ନାମ ଯିରୀୟ, ସେ ହନାନୀୟର ପୌତ୍ର ଶେଲିମୀୟର ପୁତ୍ର; ପୁଣି, ସେ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାଙ୍କୁ ଧରି କହିଲା, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କର ପକ୍ଷକୁ ଯାଉଅଛ।”
14 And Jeremiah saith, 'Falsehood — I am not falling unto the Chaldeans;' and he hath not hearkened unto him, and Irijah layeth hold on Jeremiah, and bringeth him in unto the heads,
ସେତେବେଳେ ଯିରିମୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ଏ ମିଥ୍ୟା କଥା; ମୁଁ କଲ୍ଦୀୟମାନଙ୍କ ପକ୍ଷକୁ ଯାଉ ନାହିଁ;” ତଥାପି ଯିରୀୟ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ କଥା ନ ଶୁଣି ତାଙ୍କୁ ଧରି ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟକୁ ନେଇଗଲା।
15 and the heads are wroth against Jeremiah, and have smitten him, and put him in the prison-house — the house of Jonathan the scribe, for it they had made for a prison-house.
ପୁଣି, ଅଧିପତିମାନେ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି କ୍ରୁଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହାର କଲେ ଓ ଯୋନାଥନ ଲେଖକର ଗୃହସ୍ଥିତ କାରାଗାରରେ ରଖିଲେ; କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ସେସ୍ଥାନକୁ କାରାଗାର କରିଥିଲେ।
16 When Jeremiah hath entered into the house of the dungeon, and unto the cells, then Jeremiah dwelleth there many days,
ଯିରିମୀୟ ସେହି କାରାକୂପ ଓ ତହିଁର କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର କୋଠରିରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ଅନେକ ଦିନ ସେଠାରେ ରହିଲେ।
17 and the king Zedekiah sendeth, and taketh him, and the king asketh him in his house in secret, and saith, 'Is there a word from Jehovah?' And Jeremiah saith, 'There is,' and he saith, 'Into the hand of the king of Babylon thou art given.'
ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜା ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଅଣାଇଲା; ଆଉ, ରାଜା ଆପଣା ଗୃହରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଗୋପନରେ ପଚାରିଲା, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ କୌଣସି ବାକ୍ୟ ଆସିଅଛି କି?” ତହିଁରେ ଯିରିମୀୟ କହିଲେ, “ଆସିଅଛି। ସେ ଆହୁରି କହିଲେ, ଆପଣ ବାବିଲର ରାଜାର ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେବେ।”
18 And Jeremiah saith unto the king Zedekiah, 'What have I sinned against thee, and against thy servants, and against this people, that ye have given me unto a prison-house?
ଆହୁରି, ଯିରିମୀୟ ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜାକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଆପଣଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ, ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଦାସଗଣ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ, ଅବା ଏହି ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ମୁଁ କି ପାପ କରିଅଛି ଯେ, ଆପଣମାନେ ମୋତେ କାରାଗାରରେ ରଖିଅଛନ୍ତି?
19 And where [are] your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon doth not come in against you, and against this land?
ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କର ଯେଉଁ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବକ୍ତାମାନେ ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍ବାକ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଚାର କରି କହିଲେ, ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ଆପଣମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଓ ଏହି ଦେଶ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଆସିବ ନାହିଁ, ସେମାନେ ଏବେ କାହାନ୍ତି?
20 And now, hearken, I pray thee, my lord, O king, let my supplication fall, I pray thee, before thee, and cause me not to return [to] the house of Jonathan the scribe, that I die not there.'
ଏବେ ହେ ମୋର ପ୍ରଭୁ, ମହାରାଜ, ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ଶ୍ରବଣ କରନ୍ତୁ; ଆପଣ ଯୋନାଥନ ଲେଖକର ଗୃହକୁ ମୋତେ ଫେରି ନ ପଠାଉନ୍ତୁ, ନୋହିଲେ ମୁଁ ସେଠାରେ ମରିଯିବି; ବିନୟ କରୁଅଛି, ମୋର ଏହି ନିବେଦନ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଛାମୁରେ ସୁଗ୍ରାହ୍ୟ ହେଉ।”
21 And the king Zedekiah commandeth, and they commit Jeremiah into the court of the prison, also to give to him a cake of bread daily from the bakers' street, till the consumption of all the bread of the city, and Jeremiah dwelleth in the court of the prison.
ତହିଁରେ ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜା ଆଜ୍ଞା କରନ୍ତେ, ଲୋକମାନେ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରହରୀ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ରଖିଲେ, ପୁଣି ନଗରରେ ସବୁ ରୁଟି ଶେଷ ନ ହେବା ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ରୁଟିବାଲାମାନଙ୍କର ପଲ୍ଲୀରୁ ଗୋଟିଏ ଲେଖାଏଁ ରୁଟି ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଦେଲେ। ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ଯିରିମୀୟ ପ୍ରହରୀ ପ୍ରାଙ୍ଗଣରେ ରହିଲେ।
