Jeremiah 36
1 And it cometh to pass, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, this word hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
૧વળી યહૂદિયાના રાજા યોશિયાના દીકરા યહોયાકીમના ચોથા વર્ષમાં યહોવાહનું વચન યર્મિયાની પાસે આવ્યું કે,
2 'Take to thee a roll of a book, and thou hast written on it all the words that I have spoken unto thee concerning Israel, and concerning Judah, and concerning all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day;
૨“જે દિવસથી મેં તારી સાથે વાત કરી એટલે કે યોશિયાના સમયથી તે આજ સુધી, ઇઝરાયલ અને યહૂદિયા તેમ જ બીજી પ્રજાઓ વિષે જે વચનો મેં તને કહ્યાં છે તે સર્વ એક ઓળિયું લઈને તેના પર લખ.
3 if so be the house of Israel do hear all the evil that I am thinking of doing to them, so that they turn back each from is evil way, and I have been propitious to their iniquity, and to their sin.'
૩કદાચ હું યહૂદિયાના લોકો પર જે આફતો ઉતારવાનું વિચારું છું તે તેઓ સાંભળે અને તેથી તેઓ પોતાના દુષ્ટ માર્ગોથી ફરે અને હું તેઓના અપરાધો અને પાપ માફ કરું.”
4 And Jeremiah calleth Baruch son of Neriah, and Baruch writeth from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of Jehovah, that He hath spoken unto him, on a roll of a book.
૪તેથી યર્મિયાએ નેરિયાના દીકરા બારુખને બોલાવ્યો અને યર્મિયાએ લખાવ્યું તે પ્રમાણે બારુખે યહોવાહના બધા ભવિષ્યવચનો ઓળિયામાં લખ્યાં.
5 And Jeremiah commandeth Baruch, saying, 'I am restrained, I am not able to enter the house of Jehovah;
૫ત્યારબાદ યર્મિયાએ બારુખને આજ્ઞા આપી અને કહ્યું કે, “હું કેદમાં છું અને મને યહોવાહના ઘરમાં જવાનો નિષેધ છે.
6 but thou hast entered — and thou hast read in the roll that thou hast written from my mouth, the words of Jehovah, in the ears of the people, in the house of Jehovah, in the day of the fast, and also in the ears of all Judah who are coming in from their cities thou dost read them;
૬માટે તું જા અને જે ઓળિયામાં તેં મારા મુખના શબ્દો લખ્યા છે, તેમાંથી યહોવાહના વચનો યહોવાહનાં ઘરમાં ઉપવાસના દિવસે લોકોની આગળ અને પોતપોતાનાં નગરોમાંથી આવનાર યહૂદિયાની આગળ વાંચી સંભળાવ.
7 if so be their supplication doth fall before Jehovah, and they turn back each from his evil way, for great [is] the anger and the fury that Jehovah hath spoken concerning this people.'
૭કદાચ તે લોકો યહોવાહને વિનંતી કરે અને ખોટે માગેર્થી પાછા વળે; કેમ કે, યહોવાહે એ લોકોને ભારે રોષ અને ક્રોધપૂર્વક ધમકી આપેલી છે.”
8 And Baruch son of Neriah doth according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, to read in the book the words of Jehovah in the house of Jehovah.
૮યર્મિયા પ્રબોધકે કહ્યું હતું તે મુજબ નેરિયાના દીકરા બારુખે કર્યું અને યહોવાહના ઘરમાં લોકોની આગળ સર્વ વચનો વાંચી સંભળાવ્યાં.
9 And it cometh to pass, in the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, proclaimed a fast before Jehovah have all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who are coming in from cities of Judah to Jerusalem;
૯યોશિયાના દીકરા યહોયાકીમ રાજાના શાસનકાળ દરમિયાન પાંચમા વર્ષના નવમા મહિનામાં યરુશાલેમના બધા લોકોએ તેમ જ યહૂદિયાના નગરોમાંથી જેઓ આવ્યા હતા તેઓને યહોવાહ સમક્ષ ઉપવાસ કરવાનું ફરમાવ્યું.
10 and Baruch readeth in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of Jehovah, in the chamber of Gemariah son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the opening of the new gate of the house of Jehovah, in the ears of all the people.
૧૦ત્યારે બારુખે પુસ્તકમાંનાં યર્મિયાના વચનો યહોવાહના ઘરમાં વાંચી સંભળાવ્યાં. શાફાન લહિયાના દીકરા ગમાર્યાના ઉપરના આંગણામાંના ઓરડામાં અને યહોવાહના સભાસ્થાનના નવા દરવાજાના ઓટલા પાસે તેણે સર્વ લોકોની આગળ વાંચી સંભળાવ્યાં.
11 And Michaiah son of Gemariah, son of Shaphan, heareth all the words of Jehovah from off the book,
૧૧હવે શાફાનના દીકરા ગમાર્યાના દીકરા મીખાયાએ યહોવાહ તરફથી આવેલા આ સંદેશાઓ જે પત્રકમાં લખેલાં હતા તે સાંભળ્યા.
12 and he goeth down [to] the house of the king, unto the chamber of the scribe, and lo, there are all the heads sitting: Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan son of Acbor, and Gemariah son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah son of Hananiah, and all the heads.
૧૨ત્યારે તે નીચે ઊતરીને રાજાના મહેલના વહીવટી સભાખંડમાં ગયો. ત્યારે સર્વ સરદારો એટલે લહિયા અલિશામા, શમાયાનો દીકરો દલાયા, આખ્બોરનો દીકરો એલ્નાથાન શાફાનનો દીકરો ગમાર્યા, હનાન્યાનો દીકરો સિદકિયા તથા બીજા બધા અમલદારો ત્યાં બેઠા હતાં.
13 And declare to them doth Micaiah all the words that he hath heard, when Baruch readeth in the book in the ears of the people;
૧૩ત્યાં બારુખે લોકોની સમક્ષ વાંચી સંભળાવેલા પુસ્તકના જે વચનો તેણે સાંભળ્યા હતાં તે સર્વ વિષે મીખાયાએ તેઓને કહી સંભળાવ્યાં.
14 and all the heads send unto Baruch, Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, saying, 'The roll in which thou hast read in the ears of the people take in thy hand, and come.' And Baruch son of Neriah taketh the roll in his hand and cometh in unto them,
૧૪પછી સર્વ અધિકારીઓએ કૂશીના દીકરા શેલેમ્યાના દીકરા નથાન્યાના દીકરા યેહૂદીને બારુખ પાસે મોકલીને કહેવડાવ્યું કે, “જે ઓળિયામાંથી તે લોકોને વાંચી સંભળાવ્યું છે, તે ઓળિયું તારા હાથમાં લઈને અહીં આવ.” તેથી નેરિયાના દીકરા બારુખે ઓળિયું હાથમાં લઈને અમલદારો પાસે ગયો.
15 and they say unto him, 'Sit down, we pray thee, and read it in our ears,' and Baruch readeth in their ears,
૧૫તેઓએ તેને કહ્યું કે, “તું બેસીને તે અમને વાંચી સંભળાવ.” આથી બારુખે તેઓને તે વાંચી સંભળાવ્યું.
16 and it cometh to pass, when they hear all the words, they have been afraid one at another, and say unto Baruch, 'We do surely declare to the king all these words.'
૧૬બારુખે તેઓની સામે જે વાંચન કર્યુ, તે જેવું તેઓએ સાંભળ્યું કે, તેઓ એકબીજાની સામે ભયથી જોવા લાગ્યા અને બારુખને કહ્યું, “તેં જે બધું વાંચ્યું છે તેના વિષે આપણે જરૂર રાજાને જણાવવું જોઈએ.”
17 And they asked Baruch, saying, 'Declare, we pray thee, to us, how didst thou write all these words — from his mouth?'
૧૭પછી તેઓએ બારુખને પૂછ્યું કે, અમને જણાવ કે, તે યર્મિયાના મુખમાંથી બોલેલા આ સર્વ વચન કેવી રીતે લખ્યા?”
18 And Baruch saith to them, 'From his mouth, he pronounceth unto me all these words, and I am writing on the book with ink.'
૧૮તેથી બારુખે ખુલાસો કર્યો, યર્મિયાએ તેના મુખમાંથી આ સર્વ વચન ઉચ્ચાર્યાં અને મેં તે પત્રકમાં શાહીથી લખી લીધાં.”
19 And the heads say unto Baruch, 'Go, be hidden, thou and Jeremiah, and let no one know where ye [are].'
૧૯પછી અધિકારીઓએ બારુખને કહ્યું, “તું અને યર્મિયા ક્યાંક છુપાઇ જાઓ. તમે ક્યાં છો તે વિષે કોઈને પણ જાણ કરશો નહિ.”
20 And they go in unto the king, to the court, and the roll they have laid up in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and they declare in the ears of the king all the words.
૨૦ત્યાર પછી લહિયો અલિશામાની ઓરડીમાં તે ઓળિયાને મૂકીને તેઓ ચોકમાં રાજાની પાસે ગયા. અને તે સર્વ વચન તેઓએ રાજાને કહી સંભળાવ્યાં.
21 And the king sendeth Jehudi to take the roll, and he taketh it out of the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and Jehudi readeth it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the heads who are standing by the king;
૨૧ત્યારે રાજાએ યેહૂદીને ઓળિયું લઈ આવવા મોકલ્યો, યેહૂદી તે ઓળિયું લહિયા અલિશામાની ઓરડીમાંથી લાવ્યો અને રાજાના તથા રાજાની આસપાસ ઊભા રહેલા સર્વ સરદારોના સાંભળતાં યેહુદીએ તે વાંચી સંભળાવ્યું.
22 and the king is sitting in the winter-house, in the ninth month, and the stove before him is burning,
૨૨તે સમયે નવમા મહિનામાં રાજા તેના મહેલના હેમંતગૃહમાં બેઠો હતો. અને તેની આગળ સગડી બળતી હતી.
23 and it cometh to pass, when Jehudi readeth three or four leaves, he cutteth it out with the scribe's knife, and hath cast unto the fire, that [is] on the stove, till the consumption of all the roll by the fire that [is] on the stove.
૨૩જયારે યેહૂદીએ ત્રણચાર પાનાં વાંચ્યાં એટલે રાજાએ છરીથી તેટલો ભાગ કાપી લઈ સગડીમાં નાખ્યો. અને એમ આખું ઓળિયું સગડીમાં નાશ થઈ ગયું.
24 And the king and all his servants who are hearing all these words have not been afraid, nor rent their garments.
૨૪આ બધું જ સાંભળ્યા પછી પણ રાજાએ કે તેના અમલદારોએ ન તો ગભરાટ વ્યકત કર્યો કે ન તો પોતાના વસ્ત્રો ફાડ્યાં.
25 And also Elnathan, and Delaiah, and Gemariah have interceded with the king not to burn the roll, and he hath not hearkened unto them.
૨૫જો કે એલ્નાથાન, દલાયા અને ગમાર્યાએ રાજાને ઓળિયું ન બાળવા વિનંતી કરી, પણ તેણે તેના પર ધ્યાન આપ્યું નહિ.
26 And the king commandeth Jerahmeel son of Hammelek, and Seraiah son of Azriel, and Shelemiah son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe, and Jeremiah the prophet, and Jehovah doth hide them.
૨૬પછી રાજાએ બારુખ લહિયાને તથા યર્મિયા પ્રબોધકને પકડવા માટે યરાહમએલને, આઝ્રીએલના દીકરા સરાયાને તથા આબ્દએલના દીકરા શેલેમ્યાને મોકલ્યા. પરંતુ યહોવાહે તેઓને સંતાડી રાખ્યા હતા.
27 And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah — after the king's burning the roll, even the words that Baruch hath written from the mouth of Jeremiah — saying:
૨૭બારુખે યર્મિયાના મુખના બોલેલા શબ્દો જે ઓળિયામાં લખ્યા હતા તે ઓળિયું રાજાએ બાળી નાખ્યું, પછી યહોવાહનું વચન યર્મિયા પાસે આવ્યું કે,
28 'Turn, take to thee another roll, and write on it all the former words that were on the first roll, that Jehoiakim king of Judah burnt,
૨૮“પાછો જા, બીજું ઓળિયું લઈને તેના પર યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમે બાળી મૂકેલા પહેલાનાં ઓળિયામાં જે લખ્યું હતું તે બધું તેમાં લખ.
29 and unto Jehoiakim king of Judah thou dost say: Thus said Jehovah, Thou hast burnt this roll, saying, Wherefore hast thou written on it, saying, The king of Babylon surely cometh in, and hath destroyed this land, and caused to cease from it man and beast?
૨૯પછી યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમને કહે કે; બાબિલનો રાજા નિશ્ચે આવીને દેશનો નાશ કરશે તથા તેમાંના માણસોનો અને પશુઓનો નાશ કરશે’ એવું યહોવાહ કહે છે, એવું તેં શા માટે આ ઓળિયામાં લખ્યું છે, એમ કહીને તેં એ ઓળિયું બાળી નાખ્યું છે.
30 'Therefore, thus said Jehovah, concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: He hath none sitting on the throne of David, and his carcase is cast out to heat by day, and to cold by night;
૩૦આથી યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમ વિષે યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, તેનાં વંશમાંનો કોઈ દાઉદની ગાદીએ બેસશે નહિ. અને તેનો મૃતદેહ દિવસે તાપમાં અને રાત્રે હિમમાં બહાર પડી રહેશે.
31 and I have charged on him, and on his seed, and on his servants, their iniquity; and I have brought in on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto the men of Judah, all the evil that I have spoken unto them, and they hearkened not.'
૩૧હું તને, તારા વંશજોને તથા તારા અમલદારોને તેઓનાં દુષ્કૃત્યો માટે સજા કરીશ. અને તમારા પર, યરુશાલેમના રહેવાસીઓ પર અને યહૂદિયાના લોકો પર મેં જે વિપત્તિ લાવવા વિષે કહ્યું હતું તે તમારી પર લાવીશ. મેં તમને ચેતવ્યા, પણ તમે સાંભળ્યું નહિ.”
32 And Jeremiah hath taken another roll, and giveth it unto Baruch son of Neriah the scribe, and he writeth on it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book that Jehoiakim king of Judah hath burnt in the fire; and again there were added unto them many words like these.
૩૨ત્યારબાદ યર્મિયાએ બીજું ઓળિયું લીધું અને નેરિયાના દીકરા બારુખ લહિયાને લખવા આપ્યું. અને જે પુસ્તક યહૂદિયાના રાજા યહોયાકીમે અગ્નિમાં બાળી નાખ્યું હતું. તેમાંનાં યર્મિયાના મુખનાં બોલેલાં સર્વ વચન બારુખે તેમાં લખ્યાં. અને તેઓના જેવાં બીજા ઘણાં વચનો પણ તેમાં ઉમેર્યાં.
