Jeremiah 34

1 The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah — and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his force, and all kingdoms of the land of the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all its cities — saying:

ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦ୍‍ନିତ୍ସର ଓ ତାହାର ସମସ୍ତ ସୈନ୍ୟ ଓ ତାହାର କର୍ତ୍ତୃତ୍ୱାଧୀନ ଭୂଖଣ୍ଡର ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜ୍ୟ ଆଉ ସମସ୍ତ ଗୋଷ୍ଠୀ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ଓ ତହିଁର ନଗରସମୂହର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରୁଥିବା ସମୟରେ, ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା:

2 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel: Go, and thou hast spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath burned it with fire,

“ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯାଇ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟର ସଙ୍ଗେ ଆଳାପ କରି ତାହାକୁ କୁହ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ହସ୍ତରେ ଏହି ନଗର ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା, ତହିଁରେ ସେ ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ତାହା ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବ।

3 and thou, thou dost not escape out of his hand, for thou art certainly caught, and into his hand thou art given, and thine eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with thy mouth speaketh, and Babylon thou enterest.

ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହା ହସ୍ତରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ନିଶ୍ଚୟ ଧରାଯିବ ଓ ତାହା ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହେବ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ଚକ୍ଷୁକୁ ଦେଖିବ ଓ ସେ ସମ୍ମୁଖାସମ୍ମୁଖୀ ହୋଇ ତୁମ୍ଭ ସଙ୍ଗେ କଥା କହିବ ଓ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲକୁ ଯିବ।

4 'Only, hear a word of Jehovah, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Jehovah unto thee: Thou dost not die by sword,

ତଥାପି ହେ ସିଦିକୀୟ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜନ୍‍, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣ; ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭ ବିଷୟରେ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ଦ୍ୱାରା ମରିବ ନାହିଁ;

5 in peace thou diest, and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who have been before thee, so they make a burning for thee; and Ah, lord, they lament for thee, for the word I have spoken — an affirmation of Jehovah.'

ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଶାନ୍ତିରେ ମରିବ; ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପିତୃଲୋକମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ, ତୁମ୍ଭ ପୂର୍ବବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ରାଜାମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଯେପରି ଦାହ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ସେପରି ଲୋକମାନେ ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସୁଗନ୍ଧି ଧୂପଦାହ କରିବେ; ଆଉ, ‘ହାୟ ପ୍ରଭୋ! ହାୟ ପ୍ରଭୋ!’ ବୋଲି ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିମନ୍ତେ ବିଳାପ କରିବେ, କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଏହି କଥା କହିଅଛୁ।”

6 And Jeremiah the prophet speaketh unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,

ତହୁଁ ଯିରିମୀୟ ଭବିଷ୍ୟଦ୍‍ବକ୍ତା ଯିରୂଶାଲମରେ ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟକୁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହିଲେ।

7 and the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left — against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses.

ସେସମୟରେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ସୈନ୍ୟ ଯିରୂଶାଲମ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଓ ଯିହୁଦାର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟସକଳ ନଗର ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍ ଲାଖୀଶ୍‍ ଓ ଅସେକା ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରୁଥିଲେ; କାରଣ ଯିହୁଦା ଦେଶସ୍ଥ ନଗରସମୂହ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏହି ଦୁଇଟି ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରାଚୀର-ବେଷ୍ଟିତ ନଗର ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଥିଲା।

8 The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty,

ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ଦାସକୁ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଏବ୍ରୀୟା ଦାସୀକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ବିଦାୟ କରିବେ; କେହି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍ ଆପଣା ଯିହୁଦୀୟ ଭ୍ରାତାକୁ ଦାସ୍ୟକର୍ମ କରାଇବ ନାହିଁ,

9 to send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant — the Hebrew and the Hebrewess — free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;

ଏପରି ମୁକ୍ତି ଘୋଷଣାର ନିୟମ ସିଦିକୀୟ ରାଜା ଯିରୂଶାଲମସ୍ଥ ସବୁ ଲୋକଙ୍କ ସହିତ ସ୍ଥିର କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ଯେଉଁ ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, ତହିଁର ବୃତ୍ତାନ୍ତ।

10 and hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;

ସମସ୍ତ ଅଧିପତି ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକେ ଏହି ନିୟମରେ ଆବଦ୍ଧ ହୋଇ, ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଦାସକୁ ଓ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଦାସୀକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ବିଦାୟ କରିଦେବେ, କେହି ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆଉ ଦାସ୍ୟକର୍ମ କରାଇବେ ନାହିଁ ବୋଲି ସମ୍ମତ ହେଲେ, ସେମାନେ ସମ୍ମତ ହୋଇ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଦାୟ କରିଦେଲେ;

11 and they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants.

ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁ ଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ଫେରି ଯେଉଁ ଦାସଦାସୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ବିଦାୟ କରି ଦେଇଥିଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଣାଇ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କ ଦାସଦାସୀ ହେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ବଶୀଭୂତ କଲେ।

12 And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:

ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କଠାରୁ ଯିରିମୀୟଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା, ଯଥା,

13 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I — I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying,

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲର ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି; “ଆମ୍ଭେ ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ଦାସଗୃହରୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିବା ସମୟରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଏକ ନିୟମ କଲୁ, ଯଥା,

14 At the end of seven years ye do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, yea, thou hast sent him forth free from thee: and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear.

‘ତୁମ୍ଭର କୌଣସି ଏବ୍ରୀୟ ଭ୍ରାତା ତୁମ୍ଭ ନିକଟରେ ବିକ୍ରୀତ ହୋଇ ଛଅ ବର୍ଷ ତୁମ୍ଭର ଦାସ୍ୟକର୍ମ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ତାହାକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ଆପଣା ନିକଟରୁ ବିଦାୟ ଦେବ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ସାତ ବର୍ଷର ଶେଷରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣାର ସେହି ଭ୍ରାତାକୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରିବ;’ ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପିତୃପୁରୁଷମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭ ବାକ୍ୟ ଶୁଣିଲେ ନାହିଁ, କିଅବା କର୍ଣ୍ଣପାତ କଲେ ନାହିଁ।

15 'And ye turn back, ye to-day, and ye do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbour, and ye make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called.

ପୁଣି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏଥିପୂର୍ବେ ଫେରି ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ପ୍ରତି ମୁକ୍ତି ଘୋଷଣା କରି ଆମ୍ଭ ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରେ ଯଥାର୍ଥ କର୍ମ କରିଥିଲ ଓ ଆମ୍ଭ ନାମରେ ଖ୍ୟାତ ଗୃହରେ ଆମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ନିୟମ କରିଥିଲ

16 And — ye turn back, and pollute My name, and ye cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure, ) to return, and ye subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants.

ମାତ୍ର ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଫେରି ଆମ୍ଭ ନାମ ଅପବିତ୍ର କଲ, ଆଉ ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ କରି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଇଚ୍ଛାନୁସାରେ ବିଦାୟ କରି ଦେଇଥିଲ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସେହି ଦାସଦାସୀକୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଣାଇ ଆପଣାମାନଙ୍କର ଦାସଦାସୀ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ବଶୀଭୂତ କରିଅଛ।

17 'Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ye have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbour; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty — an affirmation of Jehovah — unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth.

ଏହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବାସୀ ପ୍ରତି ମୁକ୍ତି ଘୋଷଣା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭ ବାକ୍ୟରେ ମନୋଯୋଗ କରି ନାହଁ; ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଖଡ୍ଗ ପ୍ରତି, ମହାମାରୀ ପ୍ରତି ଓ ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ପ୍ରତି ମୁକ୍ତି ଘୋଷଣା କରୁଅଛୁ; ଆଉ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ପୃଥିବୀର ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଏଣେତେଣେ ବିକ୍ଷିପ୍ତ ହେବା ପାଇଁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା।

18 'And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces —

ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ନିୟମ ଲଙ୍ଘନ କରିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଗୋବତ୍ସକୁ ଦୁଇ ଖଣ୍ଡ କରି ତନ୍ମଧ୍ୟ ଦେଇ ଗମନ କରିବା ବେଳେ ଆମ୍ଭ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ଯେଉଁ ନିୟମ କଲେ, ସେହି ନିୟମର କଥା ପାଳନ କରି ନାହାନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ,

19 heads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf —

ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ଯିହୁଦାର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଓ ଯିରୂଶାଲମର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ, ନପୁଂସକଗଣକୁ ଓ ଯାଜକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ ଦେଶର ସମସ୍ତ ଲୋକଙ୍କୁ, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଗୋବତ୍ସର ଦୁଇ ଖଣ୍ଡର ମଧ୍ୟଦେଇ ଗମନ କଲେ, ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା;

20 yea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase hath been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth.

ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ହିଁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣର ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଣନାଶର ଚେଷ୍ଟାକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଶବ ଖେଚର ପକ୍ଷୀଗଣର ଓ ଭୂଚର ପଶୁଗଣର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ହେବ।

21 'And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you.

ପୁଣି, ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକୀୟକୁ ଓ ତାହାର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଶତ୍ରୁଗଣର ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ପ୍ରାଣନାଶର ଚେଷ୍ଟାକାରୀମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ଓ ବାବିଲ ରାଜାର ଯେଉଁ ସୈନ୍ୟଗଣ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ ଉଠି ଯାଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା।

22 Lo, I am commanding — an affirmation of Jehovah — and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation — without inhabitant.'

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦ୍ୱାରା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହି ନଗରକୁ ପୁନର୍ବାର ଅଣାଇବା; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ନଗର ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ଯୁଦ୍ଧ କରି ତାହା ହସ୍ତଗତ କରି ଅଗ୍ନିରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବେ; ପୁଣି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯିହୁଦାର ନଗରସମୂହକୁ ନିବାସୀବିହୀନ ଧ୍ୱଂସସ୍ଥାନ କରିବା।”
