Jeremiah 34
1 The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah — and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his force, and all kingdoms of the land of the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all its cities — saying:
Yon lòt jou, Seyè a pale ak Jeremi ankò. Lè sa a, Nèbikadneza, wa Babilòn lan, t'ap atake lavil Jerizalèm ansanm ak tout ti bouk ki nan vwazinaj li yo. Li te gen avè l' tout lame pa l' la ansanm ak sòlda tout lòt nasyon ak lòt ras li te soumèt anba pouvwa li.
2 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel: Go, and thou hast spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath burned it with fire,
Men sa Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, di Jeremi: -Ale pale ak Sedesyas, wa peyi Jida a, w'a di li konsa: Seyè a pral lage lavil Jerizalèm nan men wa Babilòn lan ki pral mete dife ladan l'.
3 and thou, thou dost not escape out of his hand, for thou art certainly caught, and into his hand thou art given, and thine eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with thy mouth speaketh, and Babylon thou enterest.
Ou menm, ou p'ap chape. Y'ap arete ou, y'ap lage ou nan men l' tou. W'a kontre avè l' bab pou bab. W'a pale avè l'. Lèfini, w'ap pati pou Babilòn.
4 'Only, hear a word of Jehovah, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Jehovah unto thee: Thou dost not die by sword,
Tansèlman, Sedesyas, wa Jida, koute mesaj Seyè a bay pou ou. Ou p'ap mouri nan lagè.
5 in peace thou diest, and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who have been before thee, so they make a burning for thee; and Ah, lord, they lament for thee, for the word I have spoken — an affirmation of Jehovah.'
W'ap mouri mouri ou nan kabann ou. Lè sa a, y'a boule lansan pou ou menm jan yo te konn boule lansan pou zansèt ou yo ki te wa anvan ou. Y'a rele pou ou, y'a di: Ki lapenn sa a? Wa a mouri! Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa. Se mwen ki bay mesaj sa a.
6 And Jeremiah the prophet speaketh unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,
Pwofèt Jeremi bay Sedesyas, wa peyi Jida a, mesaj sa a lavil Jerizalèm.
7 and the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left — against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses.
Lè sa a, lame wa Babilòn lan t'ap atake lavil Jerizalèm ansanm ak de lòt lavil nan peyi Jida, Lakis ak Azeka, ki t'ap kenbe tèt toujou ak lènmi yo, paske yo menm yo te byen pwoteje.
8 The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty,
Men nan ki sikonstans Seyè a te pale ak Jeremi ankò. Wa Sedesyas te siyen yon kontra ansanm ak tout pèp lavil Jerizalèm pou yo te bay
9 to send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant — the Hebrew and the Hebrewess — free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;
tout moun menm ras ak yo, fanm kou gason, ki te esklav lakay yo libète yo. Konsa, pesonn nan moun Jida yo pa t'ap gen yon frè parèy yo k'ap sèvi yo esklav.
10 and hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;
Se konsa, tout chèf yo ansanm ak tout pèp la te tonbe dakò pou yo te bay tout esklav, fanm kou gason, yo te gen lakay yo libète yo, lèfini pou yo pa janm pran yo sèvi esklav ankò. Epi yo bay tout esklav yo libète yo vre.
11 and they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants.
Men apre sa, yo chanje lide, yo pran moun yo te bay libète yo, fanm kou gason, yo fòse yo tounen sèvi yo esklav ankò.
12 And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
Lè sa a, Seyè a pale ak Jeremi, li di l' konsa:
13 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I — I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying,
-Men sa Seyè a, Bondye pèp Izrayèl la, di: Mwen te pase yon kontra avèk zansèt nou yo lè mwen te fè yo soti kite peyi Lejip kote yo te esklav la. Mwen te di yo:
14 At the end of seven years ye do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, yea, thou hast sent him forth free from thee: and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear.
Lè yon ebre parèy nou vann tèt li ban nou pou l' sèvi nou esklav, apre sizan li pase ap sèvi nou, sou setyèm lanne a se pou nou ba li libète l'. Se pou nou kite l' ale. Men, zansèt nou yo pa t' koute m', yo pa t' okipe sa m' te di yo.
15 'And ye turn back, ye to-day, and ye do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbour, and ye make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called.
Men nou menm nan jou ki sot pase yo, nou pa t' fè menm jan ak yo, nou te fè sa ki dwat devan mwen. Tout moun te dakò pou yo te bay ebre parèy yo libète yo. Lèfini, nou te pran angajman sa a piblik devan mwen nan kay yo mete apa pou mwen an.
16 And — ye turn back, and pollute My name, and ye cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure, ) to return, and ye subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants.
Apre sa, nou chanje lide, nou pa respekte m'. Nou tout nou fè esklav nou te bay libète yo tounen lakay nou, fanm kou gason, nou fòse yo vin sèvi nou esklav ankò.
17 'Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ye have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbour; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty — an affirmation of Jehovah — unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth.
Se poutèt sa, mwen menm Seyè a, mwen di nou pa koute m', nou pa bay moun pèp Izrayèl parèy nou yo libète yo. Enben, mwen menm Seyè a, m'ap ban nou libète pou nou mouri nan lagè, nan grangou, osinon anba move maladi.
18 'And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces —
M'ap mete tout lòt nasyon sou latè yo vant ba lè y'a wè sa ki rive nou.
19 heads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf —
Nou menm chèf peyi Jida yo ak grannèg lavil Jerizalèm yo ak lòt gwo zotobre yo, prèt yo ansanm ak tout moun lavil Jerizalèm yo, nou te pran yon angajman avè m' lè nou te pase nan mitan de mwatye towo bèf nou te ofri ban mwen an. Men nou pa kenbe angajman nou te pran an, nou pa fè sa nou te pwomèt mwen n'ap fè a. Se poutèt sa, sa nou te fè towo bèf nou te ofri ban mwen an, se sa mwen pral fè rive nou.
20 yea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase hath been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth.
M'ap lage nou nan men lènmi nou yo, nan men moun ki soti pou touye nou yo. Kadav nou va sèvi manje pou zwezo nan syèl ak bèt nan bwa.
21 'And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you.
M'ap pran Sedesyas, wa peyi Jida a, ansanm ak tout chèf li yo, m'ap lage yo nan men lènmi yo, nan men moun ki soti pou touye yo. M'ap lage yo nan men lame wa Babilòn lan ki fin leve kan yo pou yo ale.
22 Lo, I am commanding — an affirmation of Jehovah — and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation — without inhabitant.'
M'ap pase yo lòd, y'ap tounen vin atake lavil la. Y'ap pran l', y'ap mete dife ladan l'. M'ap fè lavil peyi Jida yo tounen yon dezè san pyès moun ladan yo. Se mwen menm Seyè a ki di sa.
