Jeremiah 32
1 The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah — it [is] the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar,
Bara Zedeqiyaa mooticha Yihuudaa keessa waggaa kudhannaffaatti bara mootummaa Nebukadnezar keessa waggaa kudha saddeettaffaatti, dubbiin kun Waaqayyo biraa gara Ermiyaas dhufe.
2 And then the forces of the king of Babylon are laying siege against Jerusalem, and Jeremiah the prophet hath been shut up in the court of the prison that [is] in the house of the king of Judah,
Yeroo sanatti loltoonni mootii Baabilon Yerusaalemin marsanii turan; Ermiyaas raajichi immoo masaraa mootii Yihuudaa keessatti oobdii eegumsaa keessatti itti cufamee ture.
3 Where Zedekiah king of Judah hath shut him up, saying, 'Wherefore art thou prophesying, saying, Thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath captured it;
Zedeqiyaa mootichi Yihuudaa akkana jedheenii isa hiisisee ture; “Ati maaliif akkana jettee raajii dubbatta? ‘Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Ani magaalaa kana dabarsee mootii Baabilonitti nan kenna; innis ni qabata.
4 And Zedekiah king of Judah doth not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but is certainly given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth hath spoken with his mouth, and his eyes see his eyes,
Zedeqiyaa mootichi Yihuudaa dabarfamee mootii Baabilonitti ni kennama malee harka warra Baabilon jalaa hin baʼu; fuula mootichaa dura dhaabatees isa wajjin dubbata; ija isaatiinis isa ni arga.
5 And [to] Babylon he leadeth Zedekiah, and there he is till My inspecting him, — an affirmation of Jehovah — because ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye do not prosper.'
Innis Zedeqiyaa gara Baabilonitti geessa; Zedeqiyaan hamma ani isa Yaadadhutti achuma tura, jedha Waaqayyo. Isin yoo Baabilonota loltan hin milkooftan.’”
6 And Jeremiah saith, 'A word of Jehovah hath been unto me saying,
Ermiyaas akkana jedhe; “Dubbiin Waaqayyoo akkana jedhee gara koo dhufe:
7 Lo, Hanameel son of Shallum, thine uncle, is coming unto thee, saying, Buy for thee my field that [is] in Anathoth, for thine [is] the right of redemption — to buy.
Hananiʼeel ilmi eessuma keetii ilmi Shaluum si bira dhufee, ‘Ati sababii lafa kana bitachuuf mirga aantummaa qabduuf lafa qotiisaa koo kan Anaatoot keessaa sana bitadhu’ siin jedha.
8 And Hanameel, my uncle's son, cometh in unto me, according to the word of Jehovah, unto the court of the prison, and saith unto me, 'Buy, I pray thee, my field that [is] in Anathoth, that [is] in the land of Benjamin, for thine [is] the right of possession, and thine of redemption — buy for thee.' And I know that it [is] the word of Jehovah,
“Ergasii akkuma Waaqayyo dubbate sana Hananiʼeel durbiin koo gara oobdii eegumsaatti na bira dhufee, ‘Lafa koo kan biyya Beniyaam keessa Anaatoot jiru sana bitadhu. Waan mirgi furuutii fi dhuunfachuu kan kee taʼeef ati ofii keetii bitadhu’ jedhe. “Kana irratti ani akka wanni kun dubbii Waaqayyoo ture nan beeke;
9 And I buy the field, that [is] in Anathoth, from Hanameel, my uncle's son, and I weigh to him the money — seventeen shekels of silver.
kanaafuu ani lafa qotiisaa Anaatoot jiru sana durbii koo Hananiʼeel irraa bitadhee meetii saqilii kudha torba safaree kenneef.
10 And I write in a book, and seal, and cause witnesses to testify, and weigh the silver in balances;
Anis walii galtee sana mallatteessee, chaappaa itti godhee, dhuga baatota waamee meetii sana madaaliitti safareef.
11 And I take the purchase-book, the sealed one, according to law and custom, and the open one.
Walii galtee bittaa fi gurgurtaa jechuunis garagalchaa chaappaa qabu kan akka seeraa fi barteetti hojjetamee fi kan chaappaa hin qabnee illee nan fudhadhe;
12 And I give the purchase-book unto Baruch son of Neriah, son of Maaseiah, before the eyes of Hanameel, my uncle's son, and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the purchase-book, before the eyes of all the Jews who are sitting in the court of the prison.
geessees fuula durbii koo Hananiʼeelii fi fuula dhuga baatota walii galtee sana irratti mallatteessaniitii fi fuula Yihuudoota oobdii eegumsaa keessa tataaʼaa turan hundaa duratti Baaruk ilma Neeriyaa ilma Mahiseyaatti kenne.
13 And I charge Baruch before their eyes, saying,
“Anis fuuluma isaanii duratti qajeelcha kana Baarukiif kenne;
14 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Take these books, this purchase-book, both the sealed one and the open one, and thou hast put them in an earthen vessel, that they may remain many days;
‘Waaqayyo Waan Hunda Dandaʼu, Waaqni Israaʼel akkana jedha: walii galtee bittaa fi gurgurtaa kan chaappaa qabuu fi kan chaappaa hin qabne fuudhiitii akka isaan bara dheeraa turuu dandaʼaniif lachuu okkotee suphee keessa kaaʼi.
15 For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Again are houses and fields and vineyards bought in this land.'
Waaqayyo Waan Hunda Dandaʼu, Waaqni Israaʼel akkana jedhaatii; biyya kana keessatti manneen, lafa qotiisaa fi iddoon dhaabaa wayinii amma illee ni bitamu.’
16 And I pray unto Jehovah — after my giving the purchase-book unto Baruch son of Neriah — saying,
“Anis erga walii galtee bittaa fi gurgurtaa sana Baaruk ilma Neeriyaatti kennee booddee akkana jedheen Waaqayyoon kadhadhe:
17 'Ah, Lord Jehovah, lo, Thou hast made the heavens and the earth by Thy great power, and by Thy stretched-out arm; there is nothing too wonderful for Thee:
“Yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa, ati humna kee guddaa fi irree kee diriirfame sanaan samiiwwanii fi lafa uumteerta. Wanti ati hin dandeenye tokko iyyuu hin jiru.
18 Doing kindness to thousands, and recompensing iniquity of fathers into the bosom of their sons after them; God, the great, the mighty, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name,
Ati namoota kumaatamatti jaalala ni argisiifta; garuu sababii cubbuu abbootiitiif jettee ijoollee isaanii kanneen isaan booddee illee ni adabda. Yaa Waaqa guddaa fi humna qabeessa maqaan kee Waaqayyo Waan Hunda Dandaʼu dha;
19 Great in counsel, and mighty in act, in that Thine eyes are open on all the ways of the sons of Adam, to give to each according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings:
kaayyoon kee guddaa dha; hojiin kees jabaa dha. Iji kee karaa namaa hunda ilaala; ati tokkoo tokkoo namaatiif gatii karaa isaatii fi hojii isaatiif malu kennita.
20 In that thou hast done signs and wonders in the land of Egypt unto this day, and in Israel, and among men, and Thou dost make for Thee a name as [at] this day.
Ati Gibxi keessatti mallattoo fi dinqii hojjettee hamma harʼaatti illee Israaʼelii fi sanyii namaa hunda keessatti waan kana ittuma fuftee maqaa hamma ammaatti qabdu kana argatte.
21 'And Thou bringest forth Thy people Israel from the land of Egypt, with signs and with wonders, and by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great fear,
Saba kee Israaʼeliin mallattoo fi dinqiidhaan, harka humna qabeessaan, irree diriirfamaa fi haala akka malee nama sodaachisuun Gibxi keessaa baafte.
22 And thou givest to them this land that thou didst swear to their fathers to give to them, a land flowing with milk and honey,
Biyya aannanii fi damma baasu kan ati abbootii isaaniitiif kennuuf kakatte kana isaaniif kennite.
23 And they come in, and possess it, and they have not hearkened to Thy voice, and in Thy law have not walked, all that which Thou didst lay a charge on them to do they have not done, and Thou dost proclaim [to] them all this evil.
Isaanis biyyattii seenanii dhaalan; garuu siif hin ajajamne yookaan seera kee duukaa hin buune. Waan ati akka isaan hojjetan ajajjes hin hojjenne. Kanaafuu ati badiisa kana hunda isaanitti fidde.
24 'Lo, the mounts — they have come in to the city to capture it, and the city hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans who are fighting against it, because of the sword, and the famine, and the pestilence; and that which Thou hast spoken hath come to pass, and lo, Thou art seeing;
“Kunoo magaalaa fudhachuuf tuullaan biyyoo itti marfameera. Sababii goraadee, beelaatii fi dhaʼichaatiif magaalaan kun Baabilonota amma isa lolaa jiranitti dabarfamee ni kennama. Wanni ati dubbatte sun akkuma ati amma argitu kana fiixaan baʼeera.
25 Yet Thou hast said unto me, O Lord Jehovah, Buy for thee the field with money, and cause witnesses to testify — and the city hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans!'
Yaa Waaqayyo Gooftaa, ati yoo magaalattiin kun dabarfamtee Baabilonotatti kennamte iyyuu ‘Meetiidhaan lafa qotiisaa bitadhuutii bittaa fi gurgurtaa isaa illee ragaa qabaachisi’ naan jetta.”
26 And the word of Jehovah is unto Jeremiah, saying:
Ergasiis dubbiin Waaqayyoo akkana jedhee gara Ermiyaas dhufe:
27 'Lo, I [am] Jehovah, God of all flesh: For Me is anything too wonderful?
“Ani Waaqayyo, Waaqa nama hundaa ti; wanni ani hin dandeenye tokko iyyuu jiraa?
28 'Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, and he hath captured it;
Kanaafuu Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Ani magaalaa kana dabarsee Baabilonotaa fi Nebukadnezar mooticha Baabilonitti kennuuf jira; innis ishee ni qabata.
29 And come in have the Chaldeans who are fighting against this city, and they have set this city on fire, and have burned it, and the houses on whose roofs they made perfume to Baal, and poured out libations to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger.
Baabilononni magaalaa kana lolaa jiran kunneen magaalattii seenanii ibidda itti qabsiisu; isaanis manneen namoonni bantii isaanii irratti Baʼaaliif ixaana aarsuu fi waaqota biraafis dhibaayyuu dhibaafachuudhaan dheekkamsaaf na kakaasan sana illee walumaan ni gubu.
30 For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have been only doing evil in Mine eyes, from their youth; for the sons of Israel are only provoking Me with the work of their hands — an affirmation of Jehovah.
“Sabni Israaʼelii fi sabni Yihuudaa ijoollummaa isaaniitii jalqabanii fuula koo duratti waan hamaa malee homaa hin hojjenne; dhugumaan sabni Israaʼel waan harkuma isaaniitiin hojjetaniin dheekkamsaaf na kakaasan malee homaa hin hojjenne, jedha Waaqayyo.
31 'For a cause of Mine anger, and a cause of My fury, hath this city been to Me, even from the day that they built it, and unto this day — to turn it aside from before My face,
Magaalattiin kun gaafa ijaaramtee jalqabdee hamma ammaatti akka ani fuula koo duraa ishee balleessuuf na aarsitee dheekkamsaaf na kakaaste.
32 Because of all the evil of the sons of Israel, and of the sons of Judah that they have done, so as to provoke Me — they, their kings, their heads, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Sabni Israaʼelii fi sabni Yihuudaa jechuunis isaan, mootonni isaaniitii fi qondaaltonni isaanii, luboonni isaaniitii fi raajonni isaanii, namoonni Yihuudaatii fi namoonni Yerusaalem hammina hojjetan hundaan dheekkamsaaf na kakaasaniiru.
33 And they turn unto Me the neck, and not the face, and teaching them, rising early and teaching, and they are not hearkening to accept instruction.
Isaan fuula isaanii dhiisanii dugda isaanii natti garagalfatan; yoo ani ammumaa amma isaan barsiise iyyuu isaan na hin dhaggeeffanne yookaan qajeelfama kootiin hin geeddaramne.
34 'And they set their abominations in the house over which My name is called, so as to defile it;
Isaan waaqota isaanii balfamoo sana mana Maqaa kootiin waamamu keessa dhaabatanii manicha xureessan.
35 And they build the high places of Baal, that [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come up on my heart to do this abomination, so as to cause Judah to sin.
Isaanis ilmaan isaaniitii fi intallan isaanii aarsaa godhanii Moolekiif dhiʼeessuuf jedhanii Sulula Ben Hinoom keessatti Baʼaaliif iddoo sagadaa ijaaran; ani garuu akka isaan waan jibbisiisaa akkanaa hojjetanii Yihuudaa illee cubbuu hojjechiisan gonkumaa isaan hin ajajne yookaan wanni kun qalbii koo keessa illee hin turre.
36 'And now, therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, concerning this city, of which ye are saying, It hath been given into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword, and by famine, and by pestilence,
“Ati waaʼee magaalattii kanaa, ‘Isheen goraadeedhaan, beelaa fi dhaʼichaan dabarfamtee mooticha Baabilonitti kennamti’ jetta; Waaqayyo Waaqni Israaʼel akkana jedha:
37 Lo, I am gathering them out of all the lands whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back unto this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;
Ani dhugumaan biyyoota ani aarii koo sodaachisaa fi dheekkamsa koo guddaadhaan itti isaan ariʼe hunda keessaa walitti isaan nan qaba; iddoo kanattis isaan deebisee nagaan isaan jiraachisa.
38 and they have been to Me for a people, and I am to them for God;
Isaan saba koo taʼu; anis Waaqa isaanii nan taʼa.
39 and I have given to them one heart, and one way, to fear Me all the days, for good to them, and to their sons after them:
Ani akka isaanittii fi ijoollee isaanii kanneen isaan booddeettis jireenyi toluuf jedhanii akka bara baraan na sodaataniif garaa tokkoo fi karaa tokko isaaniifin kenna.
40 and I have made for them a covenant age-during, in that I turn not back from after them for My doing them good, and My fear I put in their heart, so as not to turn aside from me;
Ani kakuu bara baraa isaan wajjin nan gala; akka isaan gonkumaa narraa hin garagalleef ani waan gaarii isaaniif gochuu hin dhiisu; akka isaan na sodaataniifis isaan nan kakaasa.
41 and I have rejoiced over them to do them good, and have planted them in this land in truth, with all my heart, and with all My soul.
Ani waan gaarii isaaniif gochuutti nan gammada; garaa koo fi lubbuu koo guutuudhaan, amanamummaadhaanis biyya kana keessa isaan nan dhaaba.
42 'For thus said Jehovah: As I brought in unto this people all this great evil, so I am bringing in on them all the good that I am speaking concerning them;
“Waaqayyo akkana jedha: Ani akkuman badiisa guddaa kana hunda saba kanatti fide sana waan gaarii waadaa isaaniif seene sana hunda nan kennaaf.
43 and bought hath been the field in this land of which ye are saying, A desolation it [is], without man and beast, it hath been given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Biyya isin, ‘Biyyattiin kun ontee duwwaa hafteerti; namni yookaan bineensi ishee keessa hin jiru; isheen dabarfamtee Baabilonotatti kennamteertiitii’ jettanii waaʼee ishee dubbattan kana keessatti lafti qotiisaa amma illee ni bitama.
44 Fields with money they buy, so as to write in a book, and to seal, and to cause witnesses to testify, in the land of Benjamin, and in suburbs of Jerusalem, and in cities of Judah, and in cities of the hill-country, and in cities of the low country, and in cities of the south, for I turn back their captivity — an affirmation of Jehovah.'
Biyya Beniyaam keessatti, gandoota naannoo Yerusaalem keessatti, magaalaawwan Yihuudaatii fi magaalaawwan biyya gaaraa keessatti, magaalaawwan gaarran dhiʼaatii fi kan Negeeb keessatti lafti qotiisaa meetiidhaan ni bitama; walii galteen bittaa gurgurtaa isaas mallatteeffamee chaappaan itti godhamee dhuga baatotaan ni rageeffama; ani boojuu isaanii iddoo duriitti nan deebisaatii, jedha Waaqayyo.”
