Jeremiah 23

1 Woe to shepherds destroying, And scattering the flock of My pasture, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Wehe euch Hirten, die ihr die Herde meiner Weide umbringet und zerstreuet! spricht der HERR.

2 Therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Against the shepherds who feed My people, Ye have scattered My flock, and drive them away, And have not inspected them, Lo, I am charging on you the evil of your doings, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Darum spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels, von den Hirten, die mein Volk weiden: Ihr habt meine Herde zerstreuet und verstoßen und nicht besucht. Siehe, ich will euch heimsuchen um eures bösen Wesens willen, spricht der HERR.

3 And I do gather the remnant of My flock Out of all the lands whither I drove them, And have brought them back unto their fold, And they have been fruitful, and multiplied.

Und ich will die übrigen meiner Herde sammeln aus allen Ländern, dahin ich sie verstoßen habe, und will sie wiederbringen zu ihren Hürden, daß sie sollen wachsen und viel werden.

4 And I have raised for them shepherds, And they have fed them, And they fear no more, nor are affrighted, Nor are they lacking — an affirmation of Jehovah.

Und ich will Hirten über sie setzen, die sie weiden sollen, daß sie sich nicht mehr sollen fürchten noch erschrecken noch heimgesucht werden, spricht der HERR.

5 Lo, days are coming — an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king hath reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth.

Siehe, es kommt die Zeit, spricht der HERR, daß ich dem David ein gerecht Gewächs erwecken will; und soll ein König sein, der wohl regieren wird und Recht und Gerechtigkeit auf Erden anrichten.

6 In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwelleth confidently, And this his name that Jehovah proclaimeth him, 'Our Righteousness.'

Zu derselbigen Zeit soll Juda geholfen werden, und Israel sicher wohnen. Und dies wird sein Name sein, daß man ihn nennen wird: HERR, der unsere Gerechtigkeit ist.

7 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they do not say any more, Jehovah liveth who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,

Darum siehe, es wird die Zeit kommen, spricht der HERR, daß man nicht mehr sagen wird: So wahr der HERR lebt, der die Kinder Israel aus Ägyptenland geführet hat,

8 But — Jehovah liveth, who brought up, And who brought in, the seed of the house of Israel, From the land of the north, And from all the lands whither I drove them, And they have dwelt on their own ground!

sondern: So wahr der HERR lebt, der den Samen des Hauses Israel hat herausgeführet und gebracht aus dem Lande der Mitternacht und aus allen Landen, dahin ich sie verstoßen hatte, daß sie in ihrem Lande wohnen sollen.

9 In reference to the prophets: Broken hath been my heart in my midst, Fluttered have all my bones, I have been as a man — a drunkard, And as a man — wine hath passed over him, Because of Jehovah, and of His holy words.

Wider die Propheten. Mein Herz will mir in meinem Leibe brechen, alle meine Gebeine zittern; mir ist wie einem trunkenen Manne und wie einem, der vom Wein taumelt, vor dem HERRN und vor seinen heiligen Worten,

10 For of adulterers hath the land been full, For because of these hath the land mourned, Dried up hath been the pleasant places of the wilderness, And their course is evil, and their might — not right.

daß das Land so voll Ehebrecher ist, daß das Land so jämmerlich stehet, daß es so verflucht ist, und die Auen in der Wüste verdorren; und ihr Leben ist böse, und ihr Regiment taugt nicht.

11 For both prophet and priest have been profane, Yea, in My house I found their wickedness, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Denn beide, Propheten und Priester, sind Schälke, und finde auch in meinem Hause ihre Bosheit, spricht der HERR.

12 Therefore is their way to them as slippery places, Into thick darkness they are driven, And they have fallen in it, For I bring in against them evil, The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Darum ist ihr Weg wie ein glatter Weg im Finstern, darauf sie gleiten und fallen. Denn ich will Unglück über sie kommen lassen, das Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung, spricht der HERR.

13 And in prophets of Samaria I have seen folly, They have prophesied by Baal, And cause my people — Israel — to err.

Zwar bei den Propheten zu Samaria sah ich Torheit, daß sie weissageten durch Baal und verführeten mein Volk Israel.

14 And in prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing, Committing adultery, and walking falsely, Yea, they strengthened the hands of evil doers, So that they have not turned back Each from his wickedness, They have been to me — all of them — as Sodom, And its inhabitants as Gomorrah.

Aber bei den Propheten zu Jerusalem sehe ich Greuel, wie sie ehebrechen und gehen mit Lügen um und stärken die Boshaftigen, auf daß sich ja niemand bekehre von seiner Bosheit. Sie sind alle vor mir gleichwie Sodom und ihre Bürger wie Gomorrha.

15 Therefore, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, concerning the prophets: Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Hath profanity gone forth to all the land.

Darum spricht der HERR Zebaoth von den Propheten also: Siehe, ich will sie mit Wermut speisen und mit Galle tränken; denn von den Propheten zu Jerusalem kommt Heuchelei aus ins ganze Land.

16 Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Ye do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak, Not from the mouth of Jehovah.

So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Gehorchet nicht den Worten der Propheten, so euch weissagen! Sie betrügen euch; denn sie predigen ihres Herzens Gesicht und nicht aus des HERRN Munde.

17 Saying diligently to those despising The word of Jehovah: Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said: Evil doth not come in unto you.

Sie sagen denen, die mich lästern: Der HERR hat's gesagt, es wird euch wohlgehen. Und allen, die nach ihres Herzens Dünkel wandeln, sagen sie: Es wird kein Unglück über euch kommen.

18 For who hath stood in the counsel of Jehovah, And seeth and heareth His word? Who hath regarded My word, and hearkeneth?

Denn wer ist im Rat des HERRN gestanden, der sein Wort gesehen und gehöret habe? Wer hat sein Wort vernommen und gehöret?

19 Lo, a whirlwind of Jehovah — Fury hath gone out, even a piercing whirlwind, On the head of the wicked it stayeth.

Siehe, es wird ein Wetter des HERRN mit Grimm kommen und ein schrecklich Ungewitter den Gottlosen auf den Kopf allen.

20 The anger of Jehovah doth not turn back Till His doing, and till His establishing, The thoughts of His heart, In the latter end of the days ye attend to it With understanding.

Und des HERRN Zorn wird nicht nachlassen, bis er tue und ausrichte, was er im Sinn hat. Hernach werdet ihr's wohl erfahren.

21 I have not sent the prophets, and they have run, I have not spoken unto them, and they have prophesied.

Ich sandte die Propheten nicht, noch liefen sie; ich redete nicht zu ihnen, noch weissagten sie.

22 But — if they stood in My counsel, Then they cause My people to hear My words, And they turn them back from their evil way, And from the evil of their doings.

Denn wo sie bei meinem Rat blieben und hätten meine Worte meinem Volk geprediget, so hätten sie dasselbe von ihrem bösen Wesen und von ihrem bösen Leben bekehret.

23 A God near [am] I — an affirmation of Jehovah, And not a God afar off?

Bin ich nicht ein Gott, der nahe ist, spricht der HERR, und nicht ein Gott, der ferne sei?

24 Is any one hidden in secret places, And I see him not? an affirmation of Jehovah, Do not I fill the heavens and the earth? An affirmation of Jehovah.

Meinest du, daß sich jemand heimlich verbergen könne, daß ich ihn nicht sehe? spricht der HERR. Bin ich's nicht, der Himmel und Erde füllet? spricht der HERR.

25 I have heard that which the prophets said, Who prophesy in My name falsehood, saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed.'

Ich höre es wohl, daß die Propheten predigen und falsch weissagen in meinem Namen und sprechen: Mir hat geträumet, mir hat geträumet!

26 Till when is it in the heart of the prophets? The prophets of falsehood, Yea, prophets of the deceit of their heart,

Wann wollen doch die Propheten aufhören, die falsch weissagen und ihres Herzens Trügerei weissagen

27 Who are devising to cause My people To forget My name by their dreams, That they recount each to his neighbour, As their fathers forgot my name for Baal.

und wollen, daß mein Volk meines Namens vergesse über ihren Träumen, die einer dem andern predigt, gleichwie ihre Väter meines Namens vergaßen über dem Baal?

28 The prophet with whom [is] a dream, Let him recount the dream, And he with whom [is] My word, Let him truly speak My word. What — to the straw with the corn? An affirmation of Jehovah.

Ein Prophet, der Träume hat, der predige Träume; wer aber mein Wort hat, der predige mein Wort recht. Wie reimen sich Stroh und Weizen zusammen? spricht der HERR.

29 Is it not thus? My word [is] as a fire, An affirmation of Jehovah. And as a hammer — it breaketh in pieces a rock.

Ist mein Wort nicht wie ein Feuer, spricht der HERR, und wie ein Hammer, der Felsen zerschmeißt?

30 Therefore, lo, I [am] against the prophets, An affirmation of Jehovah, Stealing My words each from his neighbour.

Darum siehe, ich will an die Propheten, spricht der HERR, die mein Wort stehlen einer dem andern.

31 Lo, I [am] against the prophets, An affirmation of Jehovah, Who are making smooth their tongue, And they affirm — an affirmation.

Siehe, ich will an die Propheten, spricht der HERR, die ihr eigen Wort führen und sprechen: Er hat's gesagt.

32 Lo, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they recount them, and cause my people to err, By their falsehoods, and by their instability, And I — I have not sent them, Nor have I commanded them, And they are not at all profitable to this people, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Siehe, ich will an die, so falsche Träume weissagen, spricht der HERR, und predigen dieselben und verführen mein Volk mit ihren Lügen und losen Teidingen, so ich sie doch nicht gesandt und ihnen nichts befohlen habe, und sie auch diesem Volk nichts nütze sind, spricht der HERR.

33 And when this people, or the prophet, Or a priest, doth ask thee, saying, What [is] the burden of Jehovah? Then thou hast said unto them: Ye [are] the burden, and I have left you, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Wenn dich dies Volk oder ein Prophet oder ein Priester fragen wird und sagen: Welches ist die Last des HERRN? sollst du zu ihnen sagen, was die Last sei: Ich will euch hinwerfen, spricht der HERR.

34 And the prophet, and the priest, and the people, That saith, The burden of Jehovah, I have seen after that man, and after his house.

Und wo ein Prophet oder Priester oder Volk wird sagen: Das ist die Last des HERRN, denselbigen will ich heimsuchen und sein Haus dazu.

35 Thus do ye say each unto his neighbour, And each unto his brother: What hath Jehovah answered? And what hath Jehovah spoken?

Also soll aber einer mit dem andern reden und untereinander sagen: Was antwortet der HERR und was sagt der HERR?

36 And the burden of Jehovah ye do not mention any more, For the burden to each is — His word, And ye have overturned the words of the living God, Jehovah of Hosts, our God.

Und nennet es nicht mehr Last des HERRN; denn einem jeglichen wird sein eigen Wort eine Last sein, weil ihr also die Worte des lebendigen Gottes, des HERRN Zebaoth, unsers Gottes, verkehret.

37 Thus dost thou say unto the prophet What hath Jehovah answered thee? And what hath Jehovah spoken?

Darum sollt ihr zum Propheten also sagen: Was antwortet dir der HERR und was sagt der HERR?

38 And if the burden of Jehovah ye say, Therefore thus said Jehovah: Because of your saying this word, The burden of Jehovah, And I do send unto you, saying, Ye do not say, The burden of Jehovah.

Weil ihr aber sprechet: Last des HERRN, darum spricht der HERR also: Nun ihr dies Wort eine Last des HERRN nennet, und ich zu euch gesandt habe und sagen lassen, ihr sollt es nicht nennen Last des HERRN,

39 Therefore, lo, I — I have taken you utterly away, And I have sent you out, And the city that I gave to you, And to your fathers, from before My face,

siehe, so will ich euch hinwegnehmen und euch samt der Stadt, die ich euch und euren Vätern gegeben habe, von meinem Angesicht wegwerfen;

40 And I have put on you reproach age-during, And shame age-during that is not forgotten!

und will euch ewige Schande und ewige Schmach zufügen, deren nimmer vergessen soll werden.
