< Jeremiah 23 >
1 Woe to shepherds destroying, And scattering the flock of My pasture, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Mano kaka unune malit un jokwath maketho kendo keyo romba kar kwadhgi!”
2 Therefore, thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Against the shepherds who feed My people, Ye have scattered My flock, and drive them away, And have not inspected them, Lo, I am charging on you the evil of your doings, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Emomiyo ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye, Nyasach Israel, wachone jokwath makwayo joga: “Nikech usekeyo romba kendo uriembogi kendo ok useritogi, anakumu kuom timbe mamono musetimo,” Jehova Nyasaye owacho.
3 And I do gather the remnant of My flock Out of all the lands whither I drove them, And have brought them back unto their fold, And they have been fruitful, and multiplied.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “An awuon anachok romba modongʼ e pinje duto kuonde maseriembogie anadwog-gi legegi kama gibiro nyaa kendo kwan-gi nomedre.
4 And I have raised for them shepherds, And they have fed them, And they fear no more, nor are affrighted, Nor are they lacking — an affirmation of Jehovah.
Anamigi jokwath manoritgi, kendo ok ginibed maluor kata ok ginibwogi, bende onge manolal,” Jehova Nyasaye owacho.
5 Lo, days are coming — an affirmation of Jehovah, And I have raised to David a righteous shoot, And a king hath reigned and acted wisely, And done judgment and righteousness in the earth.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Kinde biro ma anami Daudi Bad Yath makare, Ruoth manobed gi loch mar rieko kendo tim gima kare kendo ratiro e piny.
6 In his days is Judah saved, and Israel dwelleth confidently, And this his name that Jehovah proclaimeth him, 'Our Righteousness.'
E ndalone Juda noresi kendo Israel nodag gi kwe. Ma e nying ma ibiro luongego: Jehova Nyasaye mamiyo wabedo jo-ratiro.”
7 Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they do not say any more, Jehovah liveth who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Ndalo biro ma ji ok nowach kendo ni, ‘Akwongʼora gi nying Jehova Nyasaye mangima, manogolo jo-Israel Misri,’
8 But — Jehovah liveth, who brought up, And who brought in, the seed of the house of Israel, From the land of the north, And from all the lands whither I drove them, And they have dwelt on their own ground!
to giniwachi, ‘Akwongʼora gi nying Jehova Nyasaye mangima, mane ogolo nyithind Israel e piny ma yo nyandwat kendo e pinje duto mane oseriembogie.’ Bangʼe gibiro dak e pinygi giwegi.”
9 In reference to the prophets: Broken hath been my heart in my midst, Fluttered have all my bones, I have been as a man — a drunkard, And as a man — wine hath passed over him, Because of Jehovah, and of His holy words.
Kuom jonabi: Chunya maiye ool; chokega duto tetni. Achalo ngʼama omer, mana ka ngʼama divai osemero, nikech Jehova Nyasaye kod wechene maler.
10 For of adulterers hath the land been full, For because of these hath the land mourned, Dried up hath been the pleasant places of the wilderness, And their course is evil, and their might — not right.
Piny opongʼ gi joma terore; nikech kwongʼ, piny obaro okak kendo kuonde kwath otimo ongoro. Jonabi luwo bangʼ timbe mamono kendo gitiyo gi teko mag-gi e yo ma ok nikare.
11 For both prophet and priest have been profane, Yea, in My house I found their wickedness, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Jonabi kod jodolo ok oluoro Nyasaye; kata mana ei hekalu mara ayudoe timbegi maricho.”
12 Therefore is their way to them as slippery places, Into thick darkness they are driven, And they have fallen in it, For I bring in against them evil, The year of their inspection, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Emomiyo yoregi nobed mapoth poth; notergi e mudho kendo kanyo ginipodhie piny. Anakel masira kuomgi e higa mokumgie.
13 And in prophets of Samaria I have seen folly, They have prophesied by Baal, And cause my people — Israel — to err.
“Kuom jonabi mag Samaria ne aneno gino mawangʼo ich: Ne gikoro e nying Baal kendo ma gimiyo joga Israel obayo yo.
14 And in prophets of Jerusalem I have seen a horrible thing, Committing adultery, and walking falsely, Yea, they strengthened the hands of evil doers, So that they have not turned back Each from his wickedness, They have been to me — all of them — as Sodom, And its inhabitants as Gomorrah.
Kendo e kind jonabi mag Jerusalem aseneno gimoro malich mokadho: Giterore kendo gidak e ngima mar miriambo. Gijiwo joma timbegi mono, mondo omi kik ngʼato olokre owe timbene maricho. Giduto gichalo Sodom ne an; jo-Jerusalem chalo gi Gomora.”
15 Therefore, thus said Jehovah of Hosts, concerning the prophets: Lo, I am causing them to eat wormwood, And have caused them to drink water of gall, For, from prophets of Jerusalem Hath profanity gone forth to all the land.
Emomiyo, ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Maratego wacho kuom jonabi: “Anami gicham chiemo makech kendo modh pi motimo sum, nikech koa kuom jonabi mag Jerusalem kia Nyasaye oselandore e piny ngima.”
16 Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Ye do not hearken unto the words Of the prophets who are prophesying to you, They are making you vain things, A vision of their own heart they speak, Not from the mouth of Jehovah.
Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye Maratego wacho: “Kik uchik itu ne gigo ma jonabi koronu; gipongʼo itu gi geno mag miriambo. Giwachonu fweny moa e pachgi giwegi, ok moa e dho Jehova Nyasaye.
17 Saying diligently to those despising The word of Jehovah: Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said: Evil doth not come in unto you.
Gisiko giwachone jogo ma jara ni, ‘Jehova Nyasaye wacho: Unubed gi kwe.’ Kendo ne jogo maluwo timbe achach mag chunjegi wacho ni, ‘Onge gima biro hinyowa.’
18 For who hath stood in the counsel of Jehovah, And seeth and heareth His word? Who hath regarded My word, and hearkeneth?
To en ngʼa kuomgi mosechungoe kar ngʼado bura mar Jehova Nyasaye, mondo one kata owinji wachne?
19 Lo, a whirlwind of Jehovah — Fury hath gone out, even a piercing whirlwind, On the head of the wicked it stayeth.
Neuru, apaka mar Jehova Nyasaye nomwomre gi mirima, ka kalausi mafuyo e wiye joma timbegi richo.
20 The anger of Jehovah doth not turn back Till His doing, and till His establishing, The thoughts of His heart, In the latter end of the days ye attend to it With understanding.
Mirimb Jehova Nyasaye ok nodog chien nyaka one ni ochopo thoro mar chunye. E ndalo mabiro iniwinj tiende malongʼo.
21 I have not sent the prophets, and they have run, I have not spoken unto them, and they have prophesied.
Ne ok aoro jonabigi, kata kamano giseringo gi wechegi; ne ok awuoyo kodgi, to kata kamano gisekoro wach.
22 But — if they stood in My counsel, Then they cause My people to hear My words, And they turn them back from their evil way, And from the evil of their doings.
To kane ginyalo chungoe kara mar ngʼado bura, dine gilando wechena ne joga kendo gilokore gia e yoregi mamono, kod timbegi mamono.”
23 A God near [am] I — an affirmation of Jehovah, And not a God afar off?
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Ok an Nyasaye mantie machiegni kende, to an Nyasaye man mabor bende.”
24 Is any one hidden in secret places, And I see him not? an affirmation of Jehovah, Do not I fill the heavens and the earth? An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Bende ngʼato nyalo pondo kuonde mopandore mondo omi kik anene? Donge apongʼo polo gi piny?”
25 I have heard that which the prophets said, Who prophesy in My name falsehood, saying, 'I have dreamed, I have dreamed.'
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Asewinjo gima jonabi makoro e nyinga gi miriambo wacho. Giwacho ni, ‘Ne aleko! Ne aleko!’
26 Till when is it in the heart of the prophets? The prophets of falsehood, Yea, prophets of the deceit of their heart,
Nyaka karangʼo ma gigi nosik e chunje jonabi mariambogi, makoro gigo moa e pachgi giwegi?
27 Who are devising to cause My people To forget My name by their dreams, That they recount each to his neighbour, As their fathers forgot my name for Baal.
Giparo ni lek ma ginyisore giwegi nomi ji wigi nowil gi nyinga, mana kaka wuonegi wigi nowil koda kaluwore gilamo mane gilamogo Baal.”
28 The prophet with whom [is] a dream, Let him recount the dream, And he with whom [is] My word, Let him truly speak My word. What — to the straw with the corn? An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “We janabi man-gi lek owach lekne, to we ngʼat man giwachna owache gadiera. Nimar en angʼo ma miudhwe nyalo timo gi cham?”
29 Is it not thus? My word [is] as a fire, An affirmation of Jehovah. And as a hammer — it breaketh in pieces a rock.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Donge wachna chalo gi mach kendo ka nyundo matoyo kidi matindo tindo?”
30 Therefore, lo, I [am] against the prophets, An affirmation of Jehovah, Stealing My words each from his neighbour.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Emomiyo amon gi jonabi makwalo weche ma giwacho ni oa kuoma e kindgi giwegi.”
31 Lo, I [am] against the prophets, An affirmation of Jehovah, Who are making smooth their tongue, And they affirm — an affirmation.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Ee, ok ahero jonabi ma milo lewgi giwegi kagiwacho ni, ‘Jehova Nyasaye owacho.’”
32 Lo, I [am] against the prophets of false dreams, An affirmation of Jehovah, And they recount them, and cause my people to err, By their falsehoods, and by their instability, And I — I have not sent them, Nor have I commanded them, And they are not at all profitable to this people, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Jehova Nyasaye wacho niya, “Adiera, ok ahero jogo makoro lek mag miriambo. Ginyisogi kendo giwito joga gi miriambo mag-gi maonge korgi gi atachgi, to ne ok aorogi kata yierogi. Ok gimi jogi ohala kata matin,” Jehova Nyasaye owacho.
33 And when this people, or the prophet, Or a priest, doth ask thee, saying, What [is] the burden of Jehovah? Then thou hast said unto them: Ye [are] the burden, and I have left you, An affirmation of Jehovah.
“Ka jogi, kata janabi kata jadolo, openji ni, ‘Wach mar Jehova Nyasaye en mane?’ To penjgi ni, ‘Wach mane? Anajwangʼu, Jehova Nyasaye owacho.’
34 And the prophet, and the priest, and the people, That saith, The burden of Jehovah, I have seen after that man, and after his house.
Ka janabi kata jadolo kata ngʼato angʼata owacho ni, ‘Ma en wach mar Jehova Nyasaye,’ to anakum ngʼatno kod joode duto.
35 Thus do ye say each unto his neighbour, And each unto his brother: What hath Jehovah answered? And what hath Jehovah spoken?
Ma e gima ngʼato ka ngʼato kuomu siko wachone osiepne kata watne: ‘Dwoko Jehova Nyasaye en angʼo?’ kata, ‘En angʼo ma Jehova Nyasaye wacho?’
36 And the burden of Jehovah ye do not mention any more, For the burden to each is — His word, And ye have overturned the words of the living God, Jehovah of Hosts, our God.
To kik ichak iwach kendo ni, ‘wach mar Jehova Nyasaye,’ nikech wach ngʼato ka ngʼato owuon ema bedone wach maber bangʼe ijaro weche Nyasaye mangima, Jehova Nyasaye Maratego ma Nyasachwa.
37 Thus dost thou say unto the prophet What hath Jehovah answered thee? And what hath Jehovah spoken?
Ma e gima usebedo ka unyiso janabi: ‘Jehova Nyasaye miyi dwoko mane?’ kata, ‘Jehova Nyasaye osewacho angʼo?’
38 And if the burden of Jehovah ye say, Therefore thus said Jehovah: Because of your saying this word, The burden of Jehovah, And I do send unto you, saying, Ye do not say, The burden of Jehovah.
Kata obedo ni iwacho ni, ‘Ma e wach mar Jehova Nyasaye,’ to ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye wacho: Ne itiyo gi weche ka iwacho ni, ‘Ma e wach mar Jehova Nyasaye,’ kata obedoni ne awachonu ni kik uwach ni, ‘Ma e wach mar Jehova Nyasaye.’
39 Therefore, lo, I — I have taken you utterly away, And I have sent you out, And the city that I gave to you, And to your fathers, from before My face,
Emomiyo, adiera wiya nowil kodu kendo ma agolu oko e nyim wangʼa kaachiel gi dala maduongʼ mane amiyou kod wuoneu.
40 And I have put on you reproach age-during, And shame age-during that is not forgotten!
Anakelnu wichkuot manyaka chiengʼ ma en wichkuot ma wich ok nowilgo.”
