Jeremiah 15
1 And Jehovah saith unto me: Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out.
Então Iavé me disse: “Embora Moisés e Samuel estivessem diante de mim, minha mente não se voltaria para este povo”. Expulse-os de minha vista, e deixe-os sair!
2 And it hath come to pass, when they say to thee, Whither do we go out? that thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah: Those who [are] for death — to death, And those who are for the sword, to the sword, And those who are for famine, to famine, And those who are for captivity, to captivity.
Acontecerá quando eles lhe perguntarem: “Onde vamos sair?”, então você lhes dirá: “Yahweh diz: “Tais como são para a morte, até a morte”; tais como são para a espada, para a espada; tais como são para a fome, para a fome; e tais como são para o cativeiro, para o cativeiro”.
3 And I have appointed over them four kinds, an affirmation of Jehovah, The sword to slay, and the dogs to drag, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the earth, to consume and to devour.
“Vou nomear sobre eles quatro tipos”, diz Yahweh: “a espada para matar, os cães para rasgar, as aves do céu, e os animais da terra, para devorar e destruir”.
4 And I have given them for a trembling To all kingdoms of the earth, Because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, For that which he did in Jerusalem.
farei com que sejam atirados para frente e para trás entre todos os reinos da terra, por causa de Manassés, o filho de Ezequias, rei de Judá, por aquilo que fez em Jerusalém.
5 For who hath pity on thee, O Jerusalem? And who doth bemoan for thee? And who turneth aside to ask of thy welfare?
Para quem terá piedade de você, Jerusalém? Quem o lamentará? Quem virá para pedir seu bem-estar?
6 Thou — thou hast left Me — an affirmation of Jehovah, Backward thou goest, And I stretch out My hand against thee, And I destroy thee, I have been weary of repenting,
Você me rejeitou”, diz Yahweh. “Você recuou. Portanto, estendi minha mão contra você e o destruiu. Estou cansado de mostrar compaixão.
7 And I scatter them with a fan, in the gates the land, I bereaved, I have destroyed My people, From their ways they turned not back.
Eu os vi com um ventilador nos portões da terra. Eu as lutei de luto de crianças. Eu destruí meu povo. Eles não voltaram de seus caminhos.
8 Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them — against the mother — A young man — a spoiler — at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble.
Suas viúvas são mais numerosas do que a areia dos mares. Eu trouxe contra a mãe dos jovens um destruidor ao meio-dia. Eu causei angústia e terrores que caíram sobre ela de repente.
9 Languished hath the bearer of seven, She hath breathed out her spirit, Gone in hath her sun while yet day, It hath been ashamed and confounded, And their residue to the sword I give up before their enemies, An affirmation of Jehovah.
Ela que já suportou sete idiomas. Ela renunciou ao espírito. Seu sol já se pôs enquanto ainda era dia. Ela se decepcionou e ficou confusa. Entregarei seus resíduos à espada antes de seus inimigos”, diz Yahweh.
10 Woe to me, my mother, For thou hast borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me — All of them are reviling me.
Ai de mim, minha mãe, que você me deu à luz, um homem de lutas, e um homem de contenção para toda a terra! Eu não emprestei, nem os homens emprestaram para mim; no entanto, cada um deles me amaldiçoa.
11 Jehovah said, Did I not direct thee for good? Did not I intercede for thee in a time of evil, And in a time of adversity, with the enemy?
disse Yahweh, “Certamente eu o fortalecerei de vez. Certamente farei com que o inimigo lhe faça súplicas no tempo do mal e em tempo de aflição.
12 Doth one break iron — northern iron, and brass?
Can one break iron, até mesmo ferro do norte, e bronze?
13 Thy strength and thy treasures For a prey I do give — not for price, Even for all thy sins, and in all thy borders.
Eu darei sua substância e seus tesouros por um saque sem preço, e isso por todos os seus pecados, mesmo em todas as suas fronteiras.
14 And I have caused thine enemies To pass over into the land — Thou hast not known, For a fire hath been kindled in Mine anger, Against you it doth burn.
Eu os farei passar com seus inimigos para uma terra que você não conhece; pois um incêndio se acende em minha raiva, que vai queimar em você”.
15 Thou, Thou hast known, O Jehovah, Remember me, and inspect me, And take vengeance for me of my pursuers, In Thy long-suffering take me not away, Know — I have borne for Thee reproach.
Yahweh, você sabe. Lembre-se de mim, visite-me, e me vingar dos meus perseguidores. Você é paciente, portanto não me leve embora. Saiba que, para seu bem, eu sofri reprovação.
16 Thy words have been found, and I eat them, And Thy word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Thy name is called on me, O Jehovah, God of Hosts.
Suas palavras foram encontradas, e eu os comi. Suas palavras foram para mim uma alegria e o regozijo do meu coração, pois sou chamado pelo seu nome, Yahweh, Deus dos Exércitos.
17 I have not sat in an assembly of deriders, Nor do I exult, because of thy hand, — Alone I have sat, For [with] indignation Thou hast filled me.
Não me sentei na assembléia daqueles que se alegram e se regozijam. Sentei-me sozinho por causa de sua mão, pois você me encheu de indignação.
18 Why hath my pain been perpetual? And my wound incurable? It hath refused to be healed, Thou art surely to me as a failing stream, Waters not stedfast.
Por que minha dor é perpétua? e minha ferida é incurável, que se recusa a ser curado? Você será de fato para mim como um riacho enganoso, como as águas que falham?
19 Therefore, thus said Jehovah: If thou turnest back, then I bring thee back, Before Me thou dost stand, And if thou bringest out the precious from the vile, As My mouth thou art! They — they turn back unto thee, And thou dost not turn back unto them.
Portanto, diz Yahweh, “Se você voltar, então eu o trarei novamente”, que você possa estar diante de mim; e se você tirar o precioso do vil, você será como minha boca. Eles voltarão para você, mas você não voltará para eles.
20 And I have made thee to this people For a wall — brazen — fenced, And they have fought against thee, And they do not prevail against thee, For with thee [am] I to save thee, And to deliver thee — an affirmation of Jehovah,
Farei de vocês um muro de bronze fortificado para este povo. Eles vão lutar contra você, mas eles não prevalecerão contra você; pois eu estou com você para salvá-lo e para te entregar”, diz Yahweh.
21 And I have delivered thee from the hand of evil doers, And I have ransomed thee From the hand of the terrible!
“Eu o entregarei fora das mãos dos ímpios, e eu vos resgatarei da mão do terrível”.
