Jeremiah 14
1 That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah concerning the matters of the dearths:
௧மழை இல்லாமையைக் குறித்து எரேமியாவுக்கு உண்டான யெகோவாவுடைய வசனம்:
2 Mourned hath Judah, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem hath gone up.
௨யூதா துக்கப்படுகிறது, அதின் வாசல்கள் பெலனில்லாமல் இருக்கிறது; தரைவரை குனிந்து, கறுகறுத்துத் திரிகிறார்கள்; எருசலேமின் கூக்குரல் எழும்புகிறது.
3 And their honourable ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come unto ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back — their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head.
௩அவர்களில் பிரபலமானவர்கள் தங்கள் சிறுவர்களைத் தண்ணீருக்கு அனுப்புகிறார்கள்; இவர்கள் பள்ளங்களுக்குப்போய்த் தண்ணீர் கிடைக்காமல் வெறும் பாத்திரங்களோடு திரும்பிவருகிறார்கள்; வெட்கி நாணி, தங்கள் தலையை மூடிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.
4 Because the ground hath been broken, For there hath been no rain in the land, Ashamed have been husbandmen, They have covered their head.
௪தேசத்தின்மேல் மழை இல்லாததினால் தரை வெடித்திருக்கிறது; பயிர் செய்கிறவர்கள் வெட்கி, தங்கள் தலையை மூடிக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.
5 For even the hind in the field hath brought forth — to forsake [it!] For there hath been no grass.
௫வெளியின் பெண்மானும் குட்டிபோட்டு, புல் இல்லாததினால் அதை விட்டு ஓடிப்போகும்.
6 And wild asses have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Consumed have been their eyes, for there is no herb.
௬காட்டுக்கழுதைகள் மேடுகளில் நின்று, வலுசர்ப்பங்களைப்போல் காற்றை உட்கொள்ளுகிறது; புல் இல்லாததினால் அவைகளுடைய கண்கள் பூத்துப்போகிறது என்றார்.
7 Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O Jehovah, work for Thy name's sake, For many have been our backslidings, Against Thee we have sinned.
௭யெகோவாவே, எங்கள் அக்கிரமங்கள் எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய்ச் சாட்சியிட்டாலும், உம்முடைய பெயரால் கிருபைசெய்யும்; எங்கள் முறைகேடுகள் மிகுதியாயிருக்கிறது; உமக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம்செய்தோம்.
8 O Hope of Israel — its saviour in time of trouble, Why art Thou as a sojourner in the land? And as a traveller turned aside to lodge?
௮இஸ்ரவேலின் நம்பிக்கையே, ஆபத்துக்காலத்தில் அதின் இரட்சகரே, நீர் தேசத்தில் அந்நிய மக்களைப்போலவும், இரவுதங்க இறங்குகிற வழிப்போக்கனைப்போலவும் இருப்பானேன்?
9 Why art Thou as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And Thou [art] in our midst, O Jehovah, And Thy name over us is called, leave us not.
௯நீர் சோர்ந்துபோன மனிதனைப்போலவும், காப்பாற்ற முடியாத பலசாலியைப்போலவும் இருப்பானேன்? யெகோவாவே, நீர் எங்கள் நடுவிலிருக்கிறவராமே; உம்முடைய பெயர் எங்களுக்குச் சூட்டப்பட்டுமிருக்கிறதே; எங்களைவிட்டுப் போகாதிரும்.
10 Thus said Jehovah concerning this people: Well they have loved to wander, Their feet they have not restrained, And Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin.
௧0அவர்கள் தங்கள் கால்களை அடக்கிக்கொள்ளாமல், அலைய விரும்புகிறார்களென்று யெகோவா இந்த மக்களைக்குறித்துச் சொல்லுகிறார்; ஆகையால், யெகோவா அவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமாயிராமல், இப்பொழுது அவர்கள் அக்கிரமத்தை நினைத்து, அவர்கள் பாவங்களை விசாரிப்பார்.
11 And Jehovah saith unto me: Thou dost not pray for this people for good,
௧௧யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: நீ இந்த மக்களுக்கு நன்மையுண்டாக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யவேண்டாம்.
12 When they fast, I hearken not unto their cry, And when they cause to ascend burnt-offering and present, I accept them not, For by sword, and by famine, And by pestilence, I am consuming them.
௧௨அவர்கள் உபவாசித்தாலும், நான் அவர்கள் விண்ணப்பத்தைக் கேட்பதில்லை; அவர்கள் தகனபலிகளையும் காணிக்கைகளையும் செலுத்தினாலும், நான் அவர்கள்மேல் பிரியமாயிருப்பதில்லை; பட்டயத்தினாலும் பஞ்சத்தினாலும் கொள்ளை நோயினாலும் நான் அவர்களை அழிப்பேன் என்றார்.
13 And I say, 'Ah, Lord Jehovah, Lo, the prophets are saying to them: Ye do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'
௧௩அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆ யெகோவாவாகிய ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, நீங்கள் பட்டயத்தைக் காண்பதில்லை, உங்களுக்குப் பஞ்சமும் வருவதில்லை; உறுதியான சமாதானத்தையே இவ்விடத்தில் உங்களுக்குத் தருவோமென்றார் என்று தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறார்களே என்றேன்.
14 And Jehovah saith unto me: Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them: A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you.
௧௪அப்பொழுது யெகோவா என்னை நோக்கி: தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் என் பெயரைக்கொண்டு பொய்யாய்த் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லுகிறார்கள். நான் அவர்களை அனுப்பினதுமில்லை, அவர்களுக்குக் கற்பித்ததுமில்லை, அவர்களுடன் பேசினதுமில்லை; அவர்கள் பொய்யான தரிசனத்தையும், பொய்யான சகுனத்தையும், இல்லாத விசேஷத்தையும், தங்கள் இருதயத்தின் பொய்யையுமே, உங்களுக்குத் தீர்க்கதரிசனமாய்ச் சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.
15 Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land: By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed.
௧௫ஆதலால், நான் அனுப்பாதிருந்தும், என் பெயரைக்கொண்டு தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ்சொல்லி, இந்தத் தேசத்தில் பட்டயமும் பஞ்சமும் வருவதில்லையென்கிற தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக்குறித்து: இப்படிப்பட்ட தீர்க்கதரிசிகள் பட்டயத்தாலும் பஞ்சத்தாலும் இறப்பார்கள்.
16 And the people to whom they are prophesying, Are cast into out-places of Jerusalem, Because of the famine, and of the sword, And they have none burying them, Them, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, And I have poured out upon them this evil.
௧௬அவர்களிடத்தில் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் கேட்கும் மக்களும், எருசலேமின் வீதிகளில் பட்டயத்தாலும் பஞ்சத்தாலும் அழிந்து, அவர்களும் அவர்கள் மனைவிகளும், மகன்களும், மகள்களும் அடக்கம்செய்வாரில்லாமல் கிடப்பார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய பொல்லாப்பை அவர்கள்மேல் வரச்செய்வேன் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
17 And thou hast said unto them this word: Tears come down mine eyes night and day, And they do not cease, For, [with] a great breach, Broken hath been the virgin daughter of my people, A very grievous stroke.
௧௭என் கண்களிலிருந்து இரவும்பகலும் ஓயாமல் கண்ணீர் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருக்கும்; என் மக்களென்கிற மகளாகிய கன்னிகை மகா வேதனையுள்ள அடியினாலும் பெரிய காயத்தினாலும் பாதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறாள்.
18 If I have gone forth to the field, Then, lo, the pierced of the sword! And if I have entered the city, Then, lo, the diseased of famine! For both prophet and priest have gone up and down Unto a land that they knew not.
௧௮நான் வெளியே போனால், இதோ, பட்டயத்தால் கொல்லப்பட்டவர்கள்; நகரத்தில் வந்தால் இதோ, பஞ்சத்தால் வருந்துகிறவர்கள்; தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் ஆசாரியர்களும் ஒன்றும் அறியாமல் தேசத்தில் அலைகிறார்கள் என்னும் இந்த வார்த்தையை அவர்களுக்குச் சொல் என்றார்.
19 Hast Thou utterly rejected Judah? Zion hath Thy soul loathed? Wherefore hast Thou smitten us, And there is no healing to us? Looking for peace, and there is no good, And for a time of healing, and lo, terror.
௧௯யூதாவை முற்றிலும் வெறுத்தீரோ? சீயோன் உம்முடைய ஆத்துமாவுக்கு இழிவானதோ? நாங்கள் ஆரோக்கியம் அடையக்கூடாமல் எங்களை ஏன் அடித்தீர்? சமாதானத்திற்குக் காத்திருந்தோம், ஒரு நன்மையுமில்லை; ஆரோக்கிய காலத்திற்குக் காத்திருந்தோம், இதோ, ஆபத்து.
20 We have known, O Jehovah, our wickedness, The iniquity of our fathers, For we have sinned against Thee.
௨0யெகோவாவே, எங்கள் தீமையையும் எங்கள் முற்பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமத்தையும் நாங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறோம்; உமக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம் செய்தோம்.
21 Do not despise, for Thy name's sake, Dishonour not the throne of Thine honour, Remember, break not Thy covenant with us.
௨௧உம்முடைய பெயருக்காக எங்களை வெறுக்காதிரும், உமது மகிமையின் சிங்காசனத்தைக் கனவீனப்படுத்தாதேயும்; எங்களுடன் உமக்கு இருக்கிற உடன்படிக்கை பொய்யாக்காமல் எங்களை நினைத்தருளும்.
22 Are there among the vanities of the nations any causing rain? And do the heavens give showers? Art not Thou He, O Jehovah our God? And we wait for thee, for Thou — Thou hast done all these!
௨௨அன்னிய மக்களுடைய வீணான தெய்வங்களுக்குள் மழையைப் பொழியவைப்பவர்கள் உண்டோ? அல்லது, வானங்கள் தானாய் மழைகளைக் கொடுக்குமோ? எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தராயிருக்கிற நீரல்லவோ அதைச் செய்கிறவர்; ஆகையால், உமக்குக் காத்திருக்கிறோம்; தேவரீர் இவைகளையெல்லாம் உண்டாக்கினீர்.
