Jeremiah 13
1 Thus said Jehovah unto me, 'Go, and thou hast got for thee a girdle of linen, and hast placed it on thy loins, and into water thou dost not cause it to enter:'
೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ನಾರಿನ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದುಕೋ, ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆನಸಿಡಬೇಡ” ಎಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
2 and I get the girdle, according to the word of Jehovah, and I place [it] on my loins.
೨ಆಗ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದುಕೊಂಡೆನು.
3 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me a second time, saying,
೩ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತು ಎರಡನೆಯ ಬಾರಿ ನನಗೆ ಕೇಳಿ ಬಂತು.
4 'Take the girdle that thou hast got, that [is] on thy loins, and rise, go to Phrat, and hide it there in a hole of the rock;
೪ಅವನು ನನಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಂಡು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂಡೆಯ ಸಂದಿನೊಳಗೆ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನುಡಿದನು.
5 and I go and hide it by Phrat, as Jehovah commanded me.
೫ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ನಾನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟೆನು.
6 And it cometh to pass, at the end of many days, that Jehovah saith unto me, 'Rise, go to Phrat, and take thence the girdle, that I commanded thee to hide there;'
೬ಬಹು ದಿನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ಹೊರಡು, ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬಚ್ಚಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ತೆಗೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
7 and I go to Phrat, and dig, and take the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and lo, the girdle hath been marred, it is not profitable for anything.
೭ನಾನು ಯೂಫ್ರೆಟಿಸ್ ನದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಗೆದು, ನಾನು ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟ ಸ್ಥಳದೊಳಗಿಂದ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದೆನು, ಆಹಾ, ಅದು ಕೆಟ್ಟು ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದ್ದಾಗಿತ್ತು.
8 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, 'Thus said Jehovah:
೮ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದನು,
9 Thus do I mar the excellency of Judah, And the great excellency of Jerusalem.
೯“ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ನುಡಿ, ಈ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿನಂತೆ ನಾನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ದೊಡ್ಡಸ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬಲು ದೊಡ್ಡಸ್ತಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ ಕೆಡಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು.
10 This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, Who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, And go after other gods to serve them, And to bow themselves to them, Yea it is — as this girdle, that is not profitable for anything.
೧೦ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಟದಂತೆ ನಡೆದು, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಈ ದುಷ್ಟ ಜನರು ಯಾವ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾರದ ಈ ನಡುಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನವಾಗಿರುವರು.
11 For, as the girdle cleaveth unto the loins of a man, So I caused to cleave unto Me The whole house of Israel, And the whole house of Judah, an affirmation of Jehovah, To be to Me for a people, and for a name, And for praise, and for beauty, And they have not hearkened.
೧೧ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ವಂಶವೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಕಲ ಯೆಹೂದ ವಂಶವೂ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದು ನನಗೆ ಹೆಸರೂ, ಸ್ತೋತ್ರವೂ, ಮಹಿಮೆಯೂ ಆಗಿರಲೆಂದು ನಡುಕಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಸೊಂಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಗಿದಿರುವಂತೆ ಇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಗಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಆದರೂ ಇವರು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂಬುದೇ.
12 And thou hast said unto them this word, Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, 'Every bottle is full of wine,' And they have said unto thee: 'Do we not certainly know that every bottle is full of wine?'
೧೨“ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಗಡಿಗೆಯು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳುವ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾರು; ಆಗ ಅವರು ನಿನಗೆ, “ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಗಡಿಗೆಯು ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸದಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿರುವುದು ನಮಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೋ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.
13 And thou hast said unto them, 'Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am filling all the inhabitants of this land, And the kings who sit for David on his throne, And the priests, and the prophets, And all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, [With] drunkenness,
೧೩ಆಗ ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ದಾವೀದನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನವನ್ನೇರಿದ ಅರಸರನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಸಕಲ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅಂತು ದೇಶದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ,
14 And have dashed them one against another, And the fathers and the sons together, An affirmation of Jehovah, I do not pity, nor spare, nor have I mercy, So as not to destroy them.
೧೪ನಾನು ಅಮಲಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸಿ ಹಿರಿಕಿರಿಯರಾದ ಸಮಸ್ತರನ್ನು ಒಬ್ಬರಿಗೊಬ್ಬರು ಬಡಿದಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸೆನು, ಕನಿಕರಿಸೆನು, ಕರುಣಿಸೆನು, ನಾಶಮಾಡದೆ ಬಿಡೆನು” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.
15 Hear, and give ear — be not haughty, For Jehovah hath spoken.
೧೫ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
16 Give ye to Jehovah your God honour, Before He doth cause darkness, And before your feet stumble on dark mountains, And ye have waited for light, And He hath made it for death-shade, And hath appointed [it] for thick darkness.
೧೬ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಘನಪಡಿಸಿರಿ; ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲದೊಳಗೆ ಆತನು ಕತ್ತಲನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವನು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಾಲುಗಳು ಮೊಬ್ಬಿನ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವವು; ನೀವು ಬೆಳಕನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಆತನು ಅದನ್ನು ಮರಣಾಂಧಕಾರದ ಕಾರ್ಗತ್ತಲನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವನು.
17 And if ye do not hear it, In secret places doth my soul weep, because of pride, Yea, it weepeth sore, And the tear cometh down mine eyes, For the flock of Jehovah hath been taken captive.
೧೭ನೀವು ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವು ಗುಟ್ಟಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗರ್ವದ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಗೋಳಾಡುವುದು. ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಂದೆಯು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಅಳುವೆನು, ನನ್ನ ನೇತ್ರವು ಅಶ್ರುಧಾರೆಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವುದು.
18 Say to the king and to the mistress: Make yourselves low — sit still, For come down have your principalities, The crown of your beauty.
೧೮ರಾಜನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜಮಾತೆಗೂ, “ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂದದ ಕಿರೀಟವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯಿಂದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ.
19 The cities of the south have been shut up, And there is none opening, Judah hath been removed — all of her, She hath been removed completely —
೧೯ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಯೆಹೂದ ದೇಶದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆಯಾಗಿವೆ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸಲು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ; ಯೆಹೂದವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸೆರೆಹೋಗಿದೆ, ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
20 Lift up your eyes, and see those coming in from the north, Where [is] the drove given to thee, thy beautiful flock?
೨೦ಚೀಯೋನೇ, ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತು, ಉತ್ತರ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಬರುವವರನ್ನು ನೋಡು. ನಿನಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದ ಹಿಂಡು, ನಿನ್ನ ಅಂದವಾದ ಹಿಂಡೂ ಎಲ್ಲಿ?
21 What dost thou say, when He looketh after thee? And thou — thou hast taught them [to be] over thee — leaders for head? Do not pangs seize thee as a travailing woman?
೨೧ನಿನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಗೆಳೆಯರಂತೆ ಬಾಳಲು ನೀನು ಅಭ್ಯಾಸಮಾಡಿಸಿದವರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ತಲೆಯಾಗಿ ನೇಮಿಸುವಾಗ ಏನು ಹೇಳುವಿ? ವೇದನೆಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವವಳನ್ನೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಲ್ಲವೇ.
22 And when thou dost say in thy heart, 'Wherefore have these met me?' For the abundance of thine iniquity Have thy skirts been uncovered, Have thy heels suffered violence.
೨೨“ಇವು ನನಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿದವು” ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಮನದೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಉಡುಗೆಯು ಕೀಳಲ್ಪಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಮ್ಮಡಿಯು ನಾಚಿಕೆಗೆ ಈಡಾದುದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಹಾಪಾಪವೇ ಕಾರಣ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು.
23 Doth a Cushite change his skin? and a leopard his spots? Ye also are able to do good, who are accustomed to do evil.
೨೩ಕೂಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ಚರ್ಮವನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಬಲ್ಲನೇ? ಚಿರತೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಚುಕ್ಕೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ? ಹೀಗಾದರೆ ದುಷ್ಟತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತರಾದ ನೀವು ಶಿಷ್ಟತನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯಬಹುದು.
24 And I scatter them as stubble, Passing away, by a wind of the wilderness.
೨೪ಆದಕಾರಣ ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿಯು ಬಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ಒಣ ಹುಲ್ಲನ್ನೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನಾನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿಬಿಡುವೆನು.
25 This [is] thy lot, the portion of thy measures from Me — an affirmation of Jehovah, Because thou hast forgotten me, And dost trust in falsehood.
೨೫ನೀನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಸುಳ್ಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಇದೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಲು, ಇದೇ ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಅಳೆದುಕೊಟ್ಟ ಭಾಗ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.
26 I also have made bare thy skirts before thy face, And thy shame hath been seen.
೨೬ನಿನ್ನ ಉಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಕೀಳಿಸುವೆನು, ನಿನಗೆ ಅವಮಾನವಾಗುವುದು.
27 Thine adulteries, and thy neighings, The wickedness of thy whoredom, on heights in a field, I have seen thine abominations. Woe to thee, O Jerusalem, Thou art not cleansed, after when [is it] again?
೨೭ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೇಕಾರಗಳನ್ನು, ನಿನ್ನ ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರದ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಗುಡ್ಡಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೀನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅಸಹ್ಯಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಿ! ನೀನು ಶುದ್ಧಳಾಗಲು ಇನ್ನೆಷ್ಟು ಕಾಲ ಬೇಕು?
