< Isaiah 9 >
1 As the former time made light The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, So the latter hath honoured the way of the sea, Beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
Ie amy zao, tsy ho an-kamoromoroñañe ao ka i naloviloviy; nimavoe’e ty tane’ i Zebolone naho ty tane’ i Naftale te taolo, fe honjone’e ty enge’e añ’andro añe, le hampilifore’e volonahetse ty an-dala’ i riakey, alafe’ Iordaneiy amy Galilà’ o kilakila’ ndatioy.
2 The people who are walking in darkness Have seen a great light, Dwellers in a land of death-shade, Light hath shone upon them.
Mahaoniñe failo ra’elahy ondaty midebedebe añ’ieñeo; mireandreañe amo mpimoneñe an-kamoromoroñañeo i hazavàñey.
3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, Thou hast made great its joy, They have joyed before Thee as the joy in harvest, As [men] rejoice in their apportioning spoil.
Fa nampitomboe’o i fifeheañey, fa nonjone’o ty firebeha’ iareo; mandia-taroba ama’o iereo manahake ty hafaleañe an-tsan-kavokarañe, naho ty firoharoha’ o lahindefoñe mizara ty nikopaha’ iareoo.
4 Because the yoke of its burden, And the staff of its shoulder, the rod of its exactor, Thou hast broken as [in] the day of Midian.
Fa pinoza’o i joka fijinia’ey, naho ty boda an-tsoro’e eo, vaho ty kobaim-pamorekeke aze, manahake tañ’andro’ i Midiane.
5 For every battle of a warrior [is] with rushing, and raiment rolled in blood, And it hath been for burning — fuel of fire.
Le ze hana nikodokodoy am-pidabadoà’e, ze saroñe navarimbariñ’an-dio, le hatao firehetse, fanodorañ’añ’afo.
6 For a Child hath been born to us, A Son hath been given to us, And the princely power is on his shoulder, And He doth call his name Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Father of Eternity, Prince of Peace.
Fa samake ho antika ty Ajaja, natolots’antika ty Ana-dahy, antsoro’e eo ty fifeheañe; ty fanoñonan-tahina’e le: Mpañoke Fanjàka, Andrianañahare Tsitongerè, Rae Nainai’e, Roandrian-kanintsiñe.
7 To the increase of the princely power, And of peace, there is no end, On the throne of David, and on his kingdom, To establish it, and to support it, In judgment and in righteousness, Henceforth, even unto the age, The zeal of Jehovah of Hosts doth this.
Tsy ho modo ty fitomboa’ i fifeleha’ey naho ty fierañerañañe amy fiambesa’ i Davidey naho amy fifehea’ey, hañoreñ’ aze vaho hampijadoñe aze an-kavantañañe naho havañonañe, henane zao ho nainai’e donia; ty fahimbaña’ Iehovà’ i Màroy ro hañeneke izay.
8 A word hath the Lord sent into Jacob, And it hath fallen in Israel.
Nañitrike tsara am’Iakobe t’i Talè le nivotrak’ am’ Israele eo.
9 And the people have known — all of it, Ephraim, and the inhabitant of Samaria, In pride and in greatness of heart, saying,
Fohi’ ze hene ondaty; toe i Efraime vaho o mpimoneñe e Someroneo, ie manao am-pirengevohañe naho fitrotroabohañe ty hoe:
10 'Bricks have fallen, and hewn work we build, Sycamores have been cut down, and cedars we renew.'
Fa nirotsake o birìkeo, f’ie ho rafite’ay am-bato vinàñe; fa finira o sakoañeo, f’ie ho soloa’ay mendoraveñe.
11 And Jehovah setteth the adversaries of Rezin on high above him, And his enemies he joineth together,
Aa le hatroa’ Iehovà o rafelahi’eo hiatreatre i Retsine; vaho havitra’e ho raike o malaiñ’azeo,
12 Aram from before, and Philistia from behind, And they devour Israel with the whole mouth. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
ho atiñanañe ey o nte-Arameo naho ahandrefañe ey o nte Pilistio; vaho habotse’ iareo am-palie mitañataña t’Israele. Ie amy zay iaby mbe tsy mivio ty haviñera’e, fa mbe mitora-kitsy ty fità’e.
13 And the people hath not turned back unto Him who is smiting it, And Jehovah of Hosts they have not sought.
Fe mboe tsy mitolike amy Mpandafa’ iareoy ondatio, vaho mboe tsy nitsoehe’ iareo t’Iehovà’ i Màroy.
14 And Jehovah cutteth off from Israel head and tail, Branch and reed — the same day,
Aa le ho kitsife’ Iehovà ami’ty andro raike ty loha naho ty rambo’ Israele, ty ran-tsatrañe naho ty vinda.
15 Elder, and accepted of face, he [is] the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he [is] the tail.
Ty androanavy naho ty iasiañe ro lohà’e; ty mpitoky mañòke vande: ie ty rambo’e.
16 And the eulogists of this people are causing to err, And its eulogised ones are consumed.
Amy te mampandilatse ondaty retoa o mpinday iareoo; vaho najoroboñe o endese’ iereoo;
17 Therefore, over its young men the Lord rejoiceth not, And its orphans, and its widows He pitieth not, For every one [is] profane, and an evil doer, And every mouth is speaking folly. With all this not turned back hath His anger, And still His hand is stretched out.
Aa le tsy ifalea’ i Talè o ajalahi’iareoo, vaho tsy ho tretreze’e o bode-rae naho vanto’ iareoo; fa songa tsy aman-Kake, tsy vokatse, fonga hagegeañe ze asam-palie’e. Amy hoe zay iaby mboe tsy mitolike ty haviñera’e, naho mbe mitora-kitsy ty fità’e.
18 For burned as a fire hath wickedness, Brier and thorn it devoureth, And it kindleth in thickets of the forest, And they lift themselves up, an exaltation of smoke!
Misolebotse hoe afo ty hatsivokarañe; forototoe’e iaby ty fatike naho ty hisatse; eka, mimiañe añ’ala matahetse ao, vaho mivarimbariñe mb’an-dindiñe ey an-katoeñe mijoala.
19 In the wrath of Jehovah of Hosts Hath the land been consumed, And the people is as fuel of fire; A man on his brother hath no pity,
Ty amy fombo miforoforo’ Iehovày, hotomomoke i taney; naho hoe famahañan’afo avao ondatio, leo raike tsy mandrombake an-drahalahi’e.
20 And cutteth down on the right, and hath been hungry, And he devoureth on the left, And they have not been satisfied, Each the flesh of his own arm they devour.
Apitso’ ty raike ty fità’e havana; abotse’e ty fità’e havia, f’ie tsy eneñe; songa avorembore’ ty nofon-tsira’e ondatio,
21 Manasseh — Ephraim, and Ephraim — Manasseh, Together they [are] against Judah, With all this not turned back hath His anger. And still His hand is stretched out!
Agedra’ i Menasè t’i Efraime; vaho i Efraime t’i Menasè; itraofa’ iareo fiatreke Iehodà. Ie amy hoe zay iaby mboe tsy mitolike ty haviñera’e, naho mbe mitorakitsy ty fità’e.
