< Isaiah 5 >
1 Let me sing, I pray you, for my beloved, A song of my beloved as to his vineyard: My beloved hath a vineyard in a fruitful hill,
Ka nnyimbire omwagalwa wange oluyimba olukwata ku nnimiro ye ey’emizabbibu. Omwagalwa wange yalina nnimiro ey’emizabbibu ku lusozi olugimu.
2 And he fenceth it, and casteth out its stones, And planteth it [with] a choice vine, And buildeth a tower in its midst, And also a wine press hath hewn out in it, And he waiteth for the yielding of grapes, And it yieldeth bad ones!
Era n’agirima n’agiggyamu amayinja gonna, n’agisimbamu emizabbibu egisinga obulungi. Era wakati mu yo n’azimbamu ebigulumu okulengererwa. N’agisimamu n’essogolero n’agisuubira okubala emizabbibu emirungi naye n’ebala emizabbibu nga si mirungi n’akatono.
3 And now, O inhabitant of Jerusalem, and man of Judah, Judge, I pray you, between me and my vineyard.
“Era kaakano abatuuze b’omu Yerusaalemi n’abasajja b’omu Yuda, munsalirewo nze n’ennimiro yange ey’emizabbibu.”
4 What — to do still to my vineyard, That I have not done in it! Wherefore, I waited to the yielding of grapes, And it yieldeth bad ones!
Ate kiki kye nandikoledde ennimiro yange eno, kye ssaagikolera? Bwe naginoonyamu emizabbibu emirungi, lwaki saalabamu mirungi?
5 And now, pray, let me cause you to know, That which I am doing to my vineyard, To turn aside its hedge, And it hath been for consumption, To break down its wall, And it hath been for a treading-place.
Kaakano muleke mbabuulire kye nnaakola ennimiro yange ey’emizabbibu. Nzija kugiggyako olukomera eyonooneke. Ndimenya ekisenge kyayo yonna erinnyirirwe.
6 And I make it a waste, It is not pruned, nor arranged, And gone up have brier and thorn, And on the thick clouds I lay a charge, From raining upon it rain.
Era ndigireka n’ezika, sirigirima wadde okugisalira. Naye ndigireka n’emeramu emyeeramannyo n’amaggwa. Ndiragira n’ebire obutatonnyesaamu nkuba.
7 Because the vineyard of Jehovah of Hosts [Is] the house of Israel, And the man of Judah His pleasant plant, And He waiteth for judgment, and lo, oppression, For righteousness, and lo, a cry.
Ennyumba ya Isirayiri y’ennimiro ya Mukama Katonda Ayinzabyonna ey’emizabbibu. Abantu ba Yuda y’ennimiro gye yasiima. Yali abasuubiramu bwenkanya naye yabalabamu kuyiwa musaayi. Yabasuubiramu butuukirivu naye nawulira kukaaba na kulaajana.
8 Woe [to] those joining house to house, Field to field they bring near, till there is no place, And ye have been settled by yourselves In the midst of the land!
Zibasanze mmwe aboongera amayumba ku ge mulina, n’ennimiro ne muzongerako endala ne wataba kafo konna kasigadde, ne mubeera mwekka wakati mu nsi!
9 By the weapons of Jehovah of Hosts Do not many houses a desolation become? Great and good without inhabitant!
Mukama Katonda alayidde nga mpulira nti, “Mu mazima ennyumba nnyingi zirifuuka bifulukkwa, n’ezo ennene ez’ebbeeyi zibulemu abantu.
10 For ten acres of vineyard do yield one bath, And an homer of seed yieldeth an ephah.
Kubanga yika kkumi ez’ennimiro y’emizabbibu zinaavangamu ekibbo kimu, n’ogusero ogw’ensigo, kabbo bubbo ak’amakungula.”
11 Woe [to] those rising early in the morning, Strong drink they pursue! Tarrying in twilight, wine inflameth them!
Zibasanze abo abakeera enkya ku makya banoonye ekitamiiza, abalwawo nga banywa omwenge ettumbi ly’obudde, okutuusa omwenge lwe gubalalusa!
12 And harp, and psaltery, tabret, and pipe, And wine, have been their banquets, And the work of Jehovah they behold not, Yea, the work of His hands they have not seen.
Ababeera n’ennanga n’entongooli, ebitaasa n’endere, n’omwenge ku mbaga zaabwe; naye ne batalowooza ku mulimu gwa Mukama Katonda, wadde okussa ekitiibwa mu ebyo bye yatonda.
13 Therefore my people removed without knowledge, And its honourable ones are famished, And its multitude dried up of thirst.
Abantu bange kyebavudde bagenda mu buwaŋŋanguse kubanga tebalina kutegeera. Abantu baabwe ab’ekitiibwa bafe enjala, n’abantu aba bulijjo bafe ennyonta.
14 Therefore hath Sheol enlarged herself, And hath opened her mouth without limit. And gone down hath its honour, and its multitude, And its noise, and its exulting one — into her. (Sheol )
Amagombe kyegavudde gagaziya omumiro gwago, era ne gaasamya akamwa kaago awatali kkomo. Mu ko mwe munaagenda abakungu baabwe n’abantu baabwe abaabulijjo, n’ab’effujjo n’abatamiivu. (Sheol )
15 And bowed down is the low, and humbled the high, And the eyes of the haughty become low,
Buli muntu alitoowazibwa, abantu bonna balikkakkanyizibwa era amaaso g’abo abeemanyi nago gakkakkanyizibwe.
16 And Jehovah of Hosts is high in judgment, And the Holy God sanctified in righteousness,
Naye Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye aligulumizibwa olw’obwenkanya, era Katonda Omutukuvu yeerage nga bw’ali omutukuvu mu butuukirivu bwe.
17 And fed have lambs according to their leading, And waste places of the fat ones Do sojourners consume.
Endiga ento ziryoke zirye ng’eziri mu malundiro gaazo, n’ensolo engenyi ziriire mu bifo ebyalekebwa awo, ebyalundirwangamu eza ssava.
18 Woe [to] those drawing out iniquity with cords of vanity, And as [with] thick ropes of the cart — sin.
Zibasanze abo abasikaasikanya ebibi byabwe ng’embalaasi bw’esika ekigaali.
19 Who are saying, 'Let Him hurry, Let Him hasten His work, that we may see, And let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel Draw near and come, and we know.'
Aboogera nti, “Ayanguyeeko, ayite mu bwangu tulabe ky’anaakola. Entegeka z’omutukuvu wa Isirayiri nazo zijje, zituuke nazo tuzimanye.”
20 Woe [to] those saying to evil 'good,' And to good 'evil,' Putting darkness for light, and light for darkness, Putting bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.
Zibasanze abo abayita ekibi ekirungi n’ekirungi ekibi, abafuula ekizikiza okuba ekitangaala, n’ekitangaala okuba ekizikiza, abafuula ekikaawa okuba ekiwoomerera n’ekiwoomerera okuba ekikaawa.
21 Woe [to] the wise in their own eyes, And — before their own faces — intelligent!
Zibasanze abo abeeraba ng’abalina amagezi, era abagezigezi bo nga bwe balaba.
22 Woe [to] the mighty to drink wine, And men of strength to mingle strong drink.
Zibasanze abo abazira mu kunywa omwenge era mu kutabula ekitamiiza,
23 Declaring righteous the wicked for a bribe, And the righteousness of the righteous They turn aside from him.
abejjeereza abatemu olw’enguzi era abamma abatuukirivu obwenkanya obubagwanidde.
24 Therefore, as a tongue of fire devoureth stubble, And flaming hay falleth, Their root is as muck, And their flower as dust goeth up. Because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of Hosts, And the saying of the Holy One of Israel despised.
Kale ng’olulimi lw’omuliro bwe lwokya ekisagazi ekikalu, era ng’omuddo omukalu bwe guggweerera mu muliro, bwe gityo n’emirandira gyabwe bwe girivunda, era n’ebimuli byabwe bifuumuuke ng’enfuufu; kubanga baajeemera etteeka lya Mukama Katonda ow’Eggye, era ne banyooma ekigambo ky’Omutukuvu wa Isirayiri.
25 Therefore hath the anger of Jehovah burned among His people, And He stretcheth out His hand against it, And smiteth it, and the mountains tremble, And their carcase is as filth in the midst of the out-places. With all this His anger did not turn back, And still His hand is stretched out!
Noolwekyo obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda bubuubuukira ku bantu be, n’agolola omukono gwe n’abasanjaga, ensozi ne zikankana era n’emirambo gyabwe ne gibeera ng’ebisasiro wakati mu nguudo. Naye wadde nga biri bwe bityo, obusungu bwa Mukama Katonda tebunnakakkana era omukono gwe gukyagoloddwa.
26 And He lifted up an ensign to nations afar off, And hissed to it from the end of the earth, And lo, with haste, swift it cometh.
Era aliyimusiza eggwanga eriri ewala bbendera, alibakoowoola ng’asinziira ku nkomerero y’ensi, era laba, balyanguwako okujja.
27 There is none weary, nor stumbling in it, It doth not slumber, nor sleep, Nor opened hath been the girdle of its loins, Nor drawn away the latchet of its sandals.
Tewali n’omu akooye, tewali n’omu yeesittala. Tewali n’omu asumagira wadde okwebaka. Tewali aliba yeesibye lukoba olutanywedde mu kiwato kye, wadde aliba n’olukoba lw’engatto olulikutuka.
28 Whose arrows [are] sharp, and all its bows bent, Hoofs of its horses as flint have been reckoned, And its wheels as a hurricane!
Obusaale bwabwe bwogi, n’emitego gyabwe gyonna mireege. Ebinuulo by’embalaasi zaabwe biriba ng’amayinja ag’embaalebaale, Ne nnamuziga w’amagaali gaabwe ng’adduka ng’embuyaga y’akazimu.
29 Its roaring [is] like a lioness, It roareth like young lions, And it howleth, and seizeth prey, And carrieth away safely, and there is none delivering.
Okuwuluguma kwabwe kuliba nga okw’empologoma, balikaaba ng’empologoma ento: weewaawo baliwuluguma bakwate omuyiggo gwabwe bagutwalire ddala awatali adduukirira.
30 And it howleth against it in that day as the howling of a sea, And it hath looked attentively to the land, And lo, darkness — distress, And light hath been darkened by its abundance!
Era ku lunaku olwo baliwuumira ku munyago gwabwe ng’ennyanja eyira. Omuntu yenna bw’alitunuulira ensi, aliraba ekizikiza n’ennaku; n’ekitangaala kiribuutikirwa ebire ebikutte.
