Isaiah 48

1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And from the waters of Judah came out, Who are swearing by the name of Jehovah, And of the God of Israel make mention, Not in truth nor in righteousness.

“யாக்கோபின் குடும்பத்தாரே, இதைக் கேளுங்கள். இஸ்ரயேலின் பெயரால் அழைக்கப்படுகிறவர்களே, யூதாவின் வம்சத்திலிருந்து வந்தவர்களே, யெகோவாவின் பெயரினால் ஆணையிடுகிறவர்களே, கேளுங்கள்; நீங்கள் இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனை வழிபடுகிறவர்கள்; ஆயினும், நீங்கள் உண்மையுடனும், நீதியுடனும் அப்படிச் செய்யவில்லை.

2 For from the Holy City they have been called, And on the God of Israel been supported, Jehovah of Hosts [is] His name.

நீங்கள் உங்களைப் பரிசுத்த நகரத்தின் குடிமக்களென்று சொல்லி, இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்; சேனைகளின் யெகோவா என்பது அவரது பெயர்.

3 The former things from that time I declared, And from my mouth they have gone forth, And I proclaim them, Suddenly I have done, and it cometh.

முற்காலத்துக் காரியங்களை முன்கூட்டியே நான் உங்களுக்கு முன்னறிவித்தேன்; எனது வாய் அவைகளை அறிவித்தது, நானே அவைகளைத் தெரியப்படுத்தினேன். பின்பு திடீரென நான் செயலாற்ற அவை நிறைவேறிற்று.

4 From my knowing that thou art obstinate, And a sinew of iron thy neck, And thy forehead brass,

நீ எவ்வளவு பிடிவாதமுள்ளவனாயிருந்தாய் என்றும், உன் கழுத்தின் தசைநார் இரும்பு என்றும், உன் நெற்றி வெண்கலமென்றும் நான் அறிந்திருந்தேன்.

5 And I declare to thee from that time, Before it cometh I have caused thee to hear, Lest thou say, 'Mine idol hath done them, And my graven image, And my molten image did command them.

ஆகையால் அவைகளை வெகுகாலத்திற்கு முன்னமே உனக்கு அறிவித்தேன்; அவை நடைபெறும் முன்பே அவைகளை உனக்குக் கூறினேன். ஆதலால், ‘எனது விக்கிரகங்களே இவற்றைச் செய்தன; எனது மரச்சிலையும், உலோகச் சிலையுமே இவற்றைத் திட்டமிட்டன’ என்று நீ சொல்லமுடியாது.

6 Thou hast heard, see the whole of it, And ye, do ye not declare? I have caused thee to hear new things from this time, And things reserved that ye knew not.

இவற்றை நீ கேட்டிருக்கிறாய்; இவை எல்லாவற்றையும் கவனி. இவற்றை நீ அறிவிக்கமாட்டாயோ? “இதுமுதல் புதிய காரியங்களை நான் உனக்குச் சொல்வேன், இவைகளோ நீ அறியாத மறைவான காரியங்கள்.

7 Now they have been produced and not from that time, Yea, before the day, and thou hast not heard them, Lest thou say, 'Lo, I have known them.'

அவை வெகுகாலத்திற்கு முன்பு அல்ல, இப்பொழுதுதான் உருவாக்கப்படுகின்றன; நீ இதற்குமுன் அவைகளைப்பற்றிக் கேள்விப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை. ஆகவே, ‘ஆம், நான் அவைகளை அறிந்திருந்தேன்’ என்று உன்னால் சொல்லமுடியாது.

8 Yea, thou hast not heard, Yea, thou hast not known, Yea, from that time not opened hath thine ear, For I have known thou dealest treacherously, And 'Transgressor from the belly,' One is crying to thee.

நீ கேள்விப்படவுமில்லை, அறியவுமில்லை; முந்திய காலத்திலிருந்தே உன் செவிகள் திறக்கப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை. நீ எவ்வளவு துரோகி, பிறப்பிலிருந்தே நீ கலகக்காரன்; இதை நான் நன்கு அறிவேன்.

9 For My name's sake I defer Mine anger, And My praise I restrain for thee, So as not to cut thee off.

நான் என் பெயரின் நிமித்தமாகவே எனது கடுங்கோபத்தைத் தாமதமாக்குகிறேன்; எனது புகழ்ச்சியின் நிமித்தமாகவே உன்னில் பொறுமையாயிருக்கிறேன்; நீ அழிந்துபோகாதபடிக்கு எனது கோபத்தை உன்மேல் வரவிடாதிருக்கிறேன்.

10 Lo, I have refined thee, and not with silver, I have chosen thee in a furnace of affliction.

இதோ, நான் உன்னைப் புடமிட்டுச் சுத்திகரித்தேன், ஆயினும் வெள்ளியைப்போலல்ல; உபத்திரவத்தின் சூளையிலே உன்னைச் சோதித்துப்பார்த்தேன்.

11 For My sake, for Mine own sake, I do [it], For how is it polluted? And Mine honour to another I give not.

என் நிமித்தமாக, என் நிமித்தமாகவே இதை நான் செய்கிறேன். என் பெயர் களங்கப்பட நான் எப்படி இடமளிப்பேன்? என் மகிமையை நான் வேறொருவருக்கும் கொடுக்கமாட்டேன்.

12 Hearken to me, O Jacob, and Israel, My called one, I [am] He, I [am] first, and I [am] last;

“யாக்கோபே, நான் அழைத்த இஸ்ரயேலே, எனக்குச் செவிகொடு, நானே அவர்; ஆரம்பமும் முடிவும் நானே.

13 Also, My hand hath founded earth, And My right hand stretched out the heavens, I am calling unto them, they stand together.

என் சொந்தக் கரமே பூமியின் அஸ்திபாரங்களை அமைத்தது; என் வலதுகரம் வானங்களை விரித்தது; நான் அவைகளை அழைப்பிக்கின்றபோது, அவை ஒன்றாய் எழுந்து நிற்கும்.

14 Be gathered all of you, and hear, Who among them did declare these things? Jehovah hath loved him, He doth His pleasure on Babylon, And His arm [is on] the Chaldeans.

“நீங்கள் எல்லோரும் ஒன்றாய் கூடிவந்து, நான் சொல்வதைக் கேளுங்கள்: உங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களில் எது இந்தக் காரியங்களை முன்னறிவித்தது? யெகோவாவுக்குப் பிரியமானவன் அவருடைய நோக்கத்தை, பாபிலோனுக்கு விரோதமாக நிறைவேற்றுவான்; அவனுடைய கை பாபிலோனியர்களுக்கு விரோதமானதாகவே இருக்கும்.

15 I — I have spoken, yea, I have called him, I have brought him in, And he hath made prosperous his way.

நான், நானே பேசினேன்; மெய்யாகவே நான் அவனை அழைத்தேன். நான் அவனைக் கொண்டுவருவேன், அவன் தன்னுடைய பணியில் வெற்றிபெறுவான்.

16 Come ye near unto me, hear this, Not from the beginning in secret spake I, From the time of its being, there [am] I, And now the Lord Jehovah hath sent me, and His Spirit.

“நீங்கள் என் அருகே வந்து இதைக் கேளுங்கள்: “முதல் அறிவிப்பிலிருந்தே நான் இரகசியமாய்ப் பேசவில்லை; அது நடைபெற்ற காலத்தில் நான் அங்கு இருக்கிறேன்.” இப்பொழுது ஆண்டவராகிய யெகோவா தமது ஆவியானவருடன் என்னை அனுப்பியிருக்கிறார்.

17 Thus said Jehovah, thy redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, 'I [am] Jehovah thy God, teaching thee to profit, Causing thee to tread in the way thou goest.

யெகோவா சொல்வது இதுவே, இஸ்ரயேலரின் பரிசுத்தராகிய உங்கள் மீட்பர் சொல்கிறதாவது: “உங்கள் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா நானே, மிக நன்மையானவற்றை உங்களுக்குக் போதிக்கிறவர் நானல்லவா? நீங்கள் போகவேண்டிய பாதையில் உங்களை வழிநடத்துகிறவர் நானல்லவா?

18 O that thou hadst attended to My commands, Then as a river is thy peace, And thy righteousness as billows of the sea,

என்னுடைய கட்டளைகளுக்கு நீங்கள் கவனம் செலுத்தியிருந்தால், உங்களுடைய சமாதானம் நதியைப்போல் இருந்திருக்கும்; உங்களுடைய நீதி கடலின் அலைகளைப்போல இருந்திருக்கும்.

19 And as sand is thy seed, And the offspring of thy bowels as its gravel, Not cut off nor destroyed his name before Me.

உங்கள் சந்ததிகள் மணலைப்போல் இருந்திருப்பார்கள்; உங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகள் அந்த மணலின் எண்ணற்ற துகள்களைப்போல இருந்திருப்பார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய பெயர்கள் என் முன்னிலையில் இருந்து நீங்காமலும், அழிக்கப்படாமலும் இருந்திருக்கும்.”

20 Go out from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans, With a voice of singing declare, Cause ye this to be heard, Bring it forth unto the end of the earth, Say, Redeemed hath Jehovah His servant Jacob.

பாபிலோனைவிட்டு வெளியேறுங்கள், பாபிலோனியர்களை விட்டுத் தப்பியோடுங்கள்! ஆனந்த சத்தமிட்டு அதை அறிவித்துப் பிரசித்தப்படுத்துங்கள்! யெகோவா தனது பணியாளன் யாக்கோபை மீட்டிருக்கிறார் என்று சொல்லி, அந்தச் செய்தியைப் பூமியின் கடைசி எல்லைவரை அனுப்புங்கள்;

21 And they have not thirsted in waste places, He hath caused them to go on, Waters from a rock he hath caused to flow to them, Yea, he cleaveth a rock, and flow do waters.

அவர் அவர்களை பாலைவனத்தின் வழியாக வழிநடத்தியபோது, அவர்கள் தாகமடையவில்லை; அவர் அவர்களுக்காக கற்பாறையிலிருந்து தண்ணீரைப் பாயச்செய்தார். அவர் பாறையைப் பிளந்தார், தண்ணீர் பொங்கி வழிந்தது.

22 There is no peace, said Jehovah, to the wicked!

“கொடுமையானவர்களுக்கு சமாதானம் இல்லை” என்று யெகோவா சொல்கிறார்.
