Isaiah 42
1 Lo, My servant, I take hold on him, My chosen one — My soul hath accepted, I have put My Spirit upon him, Judgment to nations he bringeth forth.
“मेरे इस सेवक को देखो, जिससे मैं खुश हूं, वह मेरा चुना हुआ है मेरा प्रिय; उस पर मैंने अपना आत्मा रखा है, वही देशों का निष्पक्ष न्याय करेगा.
2 He doth not cry, nor lift up, Nor cause his voice to be heard, in the street.
वह न तो चिल्लाएगा और न ऊंचे शब्द से बोलेगा, और न सड़क में उसका शब्द सुनाई देगा.
3 A bruised reed he breaketh not, And dim flax he quencheth not, To truth he bringeth forth judgment.
कुचले हुए नरकट को वह तोड़ न फेंकेगा, और न ही वह टिमटिमाती बत्ती को बुझा देगा. वह सच्चाई से न्याय करेगा;
4 He doth not become weak nor bruised, Till he setteth judgment in the earth, And for his law isles wait with hope.
जब तक वह न्याय को पृथ्वी पर स्थिर न करे वह न तो निराश होगा न थकेगा. द्वीप उसकी व्यवस्था की प्रतीक्षा करेंगे.”
5 Thus said God, Jehovah, preparing The heavens, and stretching them out, Spreading out the earth and its productions, Giving breath to the people on it, And spirit to those walking in it.
परमेश्वर, जो याहवेह हैं— जिन्होंने आकाश बनाया तथा पृथ्वी को बढ़ाया और फैलाया, जो पृथ्वी पर पाए जाते हैं, जिन्होंने पृथ्वी के लोगों को श्वास और जीवन उस पर चलने वालों को दिया:
6 I, Jehovah, did call thee in righteousness, And I lay hold on thy hand, and keep thee, And I give thee for a covenant of a people, And a light of nations.
“मैं ही, वह याहवेह हूं, मैंने धर्म से तुम्हें बुलाया है; मैं तुम्हारा हाथ थाम कर तुम्हारी देखभाल करूंगा. मैं तुम्हें लोगों के लिए वाचा और देशों के लिए ज्योति ठहराऊंगा,
7 To open the eyes of the blind, To bring forth from prison the bound one, From the house of restraint those sitting in darkness.
ताकि अंधे देख पाएं, बंदी कारागार से बाहर लाया जाए जो कारागार के अंधकार में रहता है.
8 I [am] Jehovah, this [is] My name, And Mine honour to another I give not, Nor My praise to graven images.
“मैं ही वह याहवेह हूं; यही मेरा नाम है! किसी और को मैं अपनी महिमा न दूंगा, और मेरी स्तुति खुदी हुई मूर्ति को न दूंगा.
9 The former things, lo, have come, And new things I am declaring, Before they spring up I cause you to hear.
देखो, पुरानी बातें बीत चुकी हैं, अब मैं नई बात बताता हूं. अब वे बातें पहले ही बताऊंगा जो आगे चलकर घटने वालीं हैं.”
10 Sing to Jehovah a new song, His praise from the end of the earth, Ye who are going down to the sea, and its fulness, Isles, and their inhabitants.
हे समुद्र पर चलने वालो, हे समुद्र के रहनेवालो, हे द्वीपो और उनमें रहनेवालो, तुम सब याहवेह की स्तुति में एक नया गीत गाओ, पृथ्वी के छोर से उनकी स्तुति करो.
11 The wilderness and its cities do lift up [the voice], The villages Kedar doth inhabit, Sing do the inhabitants of Sela, From the top of mountains they cry.
मरुस्थल एवं उसमें स्थित नगर नारे लगाओ; बस्तियां और गुफा में भी बसे हुए जय जयकार करो. सेला के निवासी नारे लगाओ; पर्वत शिखरों पर से खुशी के नारे लगाएं.
12 They ascribe to Jehovah honour, And His praise in the isles they declare.
वे याहवेह की महिमा को प्रकट करें तथा द्वीपों में उसका गुणगान करें.
13 Jehovah as a mighty one goeth forth. As a man of war He stirreth up zeal, He crieth, yea, He shrieketh, Against His enemies He showeth Himself mighty.
याहवेह वीर के समान निकलेगा, योद्धा के समान अपनी जलन दिखाएगा; वह ऊंचे शब्द से ललकारेगा और शत्रुओं पर विजयी होगा.
14 I have kept silent from of old, I keep silent, I refrain myself, As a travailing woman I cry out, I desolate and swallow up together.
“बहुत समय से मैंने अपने आपको चुप रखा, अपने आपको रोकता रहा. अब जच्चा के समान चिल्लाऊंगा, अब मैं हांफ रहा हूं और मेरा श्वास फूल रहा है.
15 I make waste mountains and hills, And all their herbs I dry up, And I have made rivers become isles, And ponds I dry up.
मैं पर्वतों तथा घाटियों को उजाड़ दूंगा सब हरियाली को सुखा दूंगा; नदियों को द्वीपों में बदल दूंगा तथा नालों को सुखा दूंगा.
16 And I have caused the blind to go, In a way they have not known, In paths they have not known I cause them to tread, I make a dark place before them become light, And unlevelled places become a plain, These [are] the things I have done to them, And I have not forsaken them.
अंधों को मैं ऐसे मार्ग से ले जाऊंगा जिसे वे जानते नहीं, उन अनजान रास्तों पर मैं उन्हें अपने साथ साथ ले चलूंगा; मैं उनके अंधियारे को दूर करूंगा उनके टेढ़े रास्ते को सीधा कर दूंगा. मैं यह सब कर दिखाऊंगा; इसमें कोई कमी न होगी.
17 Removed backward — utterly ashamed, Are those trusting in a graven image, Those saying to a molten image, 'Ye [are] our gods.'
वे बहुत लज्जित होंगे, जो मूर्तियों पर भरोसा रखते, और खुदी हुई मूर्तियों से कहते हैं, ‘तुम ही हमारे ईश्वर हो.’
18 Ye deaf, hear; and ye blind, look to see.
“हे बहरो सुनो; हे अंधो, इधर देखो, तुम समझ सको!
19 Who [is] blind but My servant? And deaf as My messenger I send? Who [is] blind as he who is at peace, Yea, blind, as the servant of Jehovah?
कौन है अंधा, किंतु सिवाय मेरे सेवक के, अथवा कौन है बहरा, सिवाय मेरे उस भेजे हुए दूत के? अंधा कौन है जिसके साथ मैंने वाचा बांधी, अंधा कौन है सिवाय याहवेह का दास?
20 Seeing many things, and thou observest not, Opening ears, and he heareth not.
अनेक परिस्थितियां तुम्हारे आंखों के सामने हुईं अवश्य, किंतु तुमने उन पर ध्यान नहीं दिया; तुम्हारे कान खुले तो थे, किंतु तुमने सुना ही नहीं.”
21 Jehovah hath delight for the sake of His righteousness, He magnifieth law, and maketh honourable.
याहवेह अपनी धार्मिकता के लिये अपनी व्यवस्था की प्रशंसा ज्यादा करवाना चाहा.
22 And this [is] a people seized and spoiled, Snared in holes — all of them, And in houses of restraint they were hidden, They have been for a prey, And there is no deliverer, A spoil, and none is saying, 'Restore.'
किंतु ये ऐसे लोग हैं जो लूट लिए गए हैं, तथा जिनकी वस्तुएं छीनी जा चुकी हैं और सभी गड्ढों में जा फंसे हैं, तथा सभी को जेल में बंद कर दिया गया है. वे ऐसे फंस चुके हैं, जिन्हें कोई निकाल नहीं सकता; और उनसे जो सामान लूटा गया है, उसे लौटाने को कोई नहीं कहता.
23 Who among you giveth ear [to] this? Attendeth, and heareth afterwards.
तुममें से ऐसा कौन है, जो यह सब सुनने के लिए तैयार है? और कौन सुलझाएगा?
24 Who hath given Jacob for a spoil, And Israel to the spoilers? Is it not Jehovah — He against whom we sinned? Yea, they have not been willing in His ways to walk, Nor have they hearkened to His law.
किसने याकोब को लुटेरों के हाथों में सौंप दिया, तथा इस्राएल को लुटेरों के अधीन कर दिया? क्या याहवेह ने यह नहीं किया, जिनके विरुद्ध हमने पाप किया है? जिसके मार्ग पर उन्होंने चलना न चाहा; और उनकी व्यवस्था का उन्होंने पालन नहीं किया.
25 And He poureth on him fury, His anger, and the strength of battle, And it setteth him on fire round about, And he hath not known, And it burneth against him, and he layeth it not to heart!
इस कारण याहवेह ने उन्हें अपने क्रोध की आग में, और युद्ध की भीड़ में डाल दिया. उसे चारों ओर से आग ने घेर लिया! फिर भी वह यह सब समझ न सका; इसने उसे भस्म कर दिया, तब भी उसने ध्यान नहीं दिया.
