< Isaiah 34 >

1 Come near, ye nations, to hear, And ye peoples, give attention, Hear doth the earth and its fulness, The world, and all its productions.
Haʻu ke ofi, ʻakimoutolu ʻae ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻo fanongo; pea fakafanongo, ʻakimoutolu ʻae kakai: tuku ke fanongo ʻa māmani, mo ia kotoa pē ʻoku ʻi ai; ʻa māmani, mo e ngaahi meʻa kotoa pē ʻoku tupu mei ai.
2 For wrath [is] to Jehovah against all the nations, And fury against all their host, He hath devoted them to destruction, He hath given them to slaughter.
He ʻoku ʻi he ngaahi puleʻanga kotoa pē ʻae tuputāmaki ʻa Sihova, mo hono houhau lahi ʻoku ʻi honau ngaahi kongakau kotoa pē: kuo ne fakaʻauha mālie ʻakinautolu, kuo ne tukuange ʻakinautolu ke tāmateʻi.
3 And their wounded are cast out, And their carcases cause their stench to ascend, And melted have been mountains from their blood.
Mo ʻenau mate foki ʻe lī kituʻa, pea ʻe ʻalu hake ʻae namuhāhā mei honau ʻangaʻanga, pea ʻe molū ʻo vai ʻae ngaahi moʻunga ʻi honau toto.
4 And consumed have been all the host of the heavens, And rolled together as a book have been the heavens, And all their hosts do fade, As the fading of a leaf of a vine, And as the fading one of a fig-tree.
Pea ʻe vela ʻo vai ʻae ngaahi kautau kotoa pē ʻoe langi, pea ʻe tākai ʻae ngaahi langi ʻo hangē ko e takainga pepa: pea ʻe tō ki lalo ʻa honau tokolahi, ʻo hangē ko e ngangana ʻoe lau mei he vaine, pea tatau mo e fiki ʻoku tō mei he ʻakau ko e fiki.
5 For soaked in the heavens was My sword, Lo, on Edom it cometh down, On the people of My curse for judgment.
He kuo toʻo ʻa ʻeku heletā ʻi he langi: Vakai, ʻe ʻalu hifo ia ki Itumia, pea ki he kakai ʻo hoku houhau, ke totongi.
6 A sword [is] to Jehovah — it hath been full of blood, It hath been made fat with fatness, With blood of lambs and he-goats. With fat of kidneys of rams, For a sacrifice [is] to Jehovah in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.
Kuo fonu ʻae heletā ʻa Sihova ʻi he toto, kuo pani ia ʻi he ngako, pea ʻi he toto ʻoe fanga lami mo e fanga kosi, ʻi he ngako ʻoe kofuua ʻoe fanga sipitangata: he ʻoku ʻia Sihova ʻae feilaulau ʻi Posela, pea mo e tāmateʻi lahi ʻi he fonua ko Itumia.
7 And come down have reems with them, And bullocks with bulls, And soaked hath been their land from blood, And their dust from fatness is made fat.
Pea ʻe ʻalu hifo mo kinautolu ʻae fanga liimi, mo e fanga pulu fakataha mo e fanga pulu tangata; pea ʻe konā honau fonua ʻi he toto, pea ʻe koloaʻia ʻae kelekele ʻi he ngako.
8 (For a day of vengeance [is] to Jehovah, A year of recompences for Zion's strife, )
He ko e ʻaho ia ʻoe houhau ʻo Sihova, pea ko e taʻu ʻoe ngaahi totongi kiate ia ʻoku fakahaofi ʻa Saione.
9 And turned have been her streams to pitch, And her dust to brimstone, And her land hath become burning pitch.
Pea ʻe liliu ʻae ngaahi vaitafe ʻo ia ko e pulu, pea mo e efu ʻo ia ko e sulifa, pea ko e fonua ko ia ʻe hoko ko e pulu vela.
10 By night and by day she is not quenched, To the age go up doth her smoke, From generation to generation she is waste, For ever and ever, none is passing into her.
‌ʻE ʻikai fuʻifuʻi ia ʻi he pō pe ʻi he ʻaho; ʻe ʻalu hake taʻengata ʻae kohu mei ai: ʻe lala ia mei he toʻutangata ki he toʻutangata; ʻe ʻikai fou ai ha taha ʻo taʻengata pea taʻengata.
11 And possess her do pelican and hedge-hog, And owl and raven dwell in her, And He hath stretched out over her A line of vacancy, and stones of emptiness.
Ka e maʻu ia ʻe he komolaniti pea mo e pitane; ʻe nofo ai ʻae lulu mo e leveni: pea te ne falō ki ai ʻae afo ʻae fakaʻauha, pea mo e fua ʻoe fakaʻosiʻosi.
12 [To] the kingdom her freemen they call, But there are none there, And all her princes are at an end.
Te nau ui honau houʻeiki ki he puleʻanga, ka e ʻikai ha taha ʻi ai, pea ko e meʻa noa pe hono houʻeiki kotoa pē.
13 And gone up her palaces have thorns, Nettle and bramble [are] in her fortresses, And it hath been a habitation of dragons, A court for daughters of an ostrich.
Pea ʻe tutu ʻae ʻakau talatala ʻi hono ngaahi fale fakaʻeiʻeiki, ko e ʻakau veli mo e ʻakau talatala ʻi hono ngaahi kolo: pea ʻe hoko ia ko e nofoʻanga ʻoe fanga talākoni, pea ko e potu ʻoe fanga lulu.
14 And met have Ziim with Aiim, And the goat for its companion calleth, Only there rested hath the night-owl, And hath found for herself a place of rest.
15 There made her nest hath the bittern, Yea, she layeth, and hath hatched, And hath gathered under her shadow, Only there gathered have been vultures, Each with its companion.
‌ʻE ngaohi ʻi ai ʻe he motuʻa lulu hono pununga, pea fakatō, pea fōfoaʻi, pea tānaki ki hono malumalu: ʻe tānaki foki ʻi ai ʻae ngaahi volita, taki taha mo hono hoa.
16 Seek out of the book of Jehovah, and read, One of these hath not been lacking, None hath missed its companion, For My mouth — it hath commanded, And His spirit — He hath gathered them.
Kumi ʻakimoutolu ʻi he tohi ʻa Sihova, pea lau; ʻe ʻikai ha taha ʻi he ngaahi meʻa ni ʻe taʻehoko, ʻe ʻikai masiva ha taha ʻi hono hoa: he kuo fekau ia ʻe hoku ngutu, pea ko hono laumālie kuo tānaki ʻe ia ʻakinautolu.
17 And He hath cast for them a lot, And His hand hath apportioned [it] to them by line, Unto the age they possess it, To all generations they dwell in it!
Pea kuo ne talotalo ʻe ia maʻanautolu, pea ko hono nima kuo vaheʻi ia kiate kinautolu ʻaki ʻae afo: te nau maʻu ia ʻo lauikuonga, pea te nau nofo ai mei he toʻutangata ki he toʻutangata.
