Isaiah 26
1 In that day sung is this song in the land of Judah: 'We have a strong city, Salvation He doth make walls and bulwark.
उस समय यहूदिया देश में यह गीत गाया जाएगा कि: हमारा एक दृढ़ नगर है; याहवेह ने हमारी रक्षा के लिए चारों ओर शहरपनाह और गढ़ को बनाया है.
2 Open ye the gates, that enter may a righteous nation, Preserving stedfastness.
नगर के फाटकों को खोल दो कि वहां सच्चाई से, जीनेवाली एक धर्मी जाति आ सके.
3 An imagination supported Thou fortifiest peace — peace! For in Thee it is confident.
जो परमेश्वर पर भरोसा रखते हैं उनके मन को पूर्ण शांति मिलती है, और याहवेह उनकी रक्षा करते हैं.
4 Trust ye in Jehovah for ever, For in Jah Jehovah [is] a rock of ages,
सदा याहवेह पर भरोसा रखो, क्योंकि याह, याहवेह ही, हमारी सनातन चट्टान हैं.
5 For He bowed down the dwellers on high, A city set on high He maketh low, He maketh it low unto the earth, He causeth it to come unto the dust,
क्योंकि उन्होंने पर्वत पर बसे दृढ़ नगर के निवासियों को गिरा दिया है; उन्होंने इसे गिराकर धूल में मिला दिया है.
6 Tread it down doth a foot, Feet of the poor — steps of the weak.
दुखियों और दरिद्रों के पांव इन्हें कुचल देंगे.
7 The path for the righteous [is] uprightness, O upright One, The path of the righteous Thou dost ponder.
धर्मी का मार्ग सीधा होता है; आप धर्मी के मार्ग को समतल बनाते हैं.
8 Also, [in] the path of Thy judgments, O Jehovah, we have waited [for] Thee, To Thy name and to Thy remembrance [Is] the desire of the soul.
हे याहवेह, आपके न्याय के मार्ग पर हम आपकी प्रतीक्षा करते हैं; आपका स्मरण हमारे प्राणों का अभिलाषी है.
9 [With] my soul I desired Thee in the night, Also, [with] my spirit within me I seek Thee earnestly, For when Thy judgments [are] on the earth, The inhabitants of the world have learned righteousness.
रात के समय मेरा प्राण आपकी लालसा करता है; मेरा मन अंदर ही अंदर आपको खोजता रहता है. क्योंकि जब पृथ्वी पर आपके न्याय का काम होता है, तब लोग धर्म को सीखते हैं.
10 The wicked findeth favour, He hath not learned righteousness, In a land of straightforwardness he dealeth perversely, And seeth not the excellency of Jehovah.
यद्यपि दुष्ट पर दया की जाए, फिर भी वह धर्म नहीं सीखता. दुष्ट चाहे भले लोगों के बीच में रहे, लेकिन वह तब भी बुरे कर्म करता रहेगा. वह दुष्ट कभी भी याहवेह की महानता नहीं देख पायेगा
11 O Jehovah, high [is] Thy hand — they see not, They see the zeal of the people, and are ashamed, Also, the fire — Thine adversaries, consumeth them.
याहवेह का हाथ उठा हुआ है, फिर भी वे इसे नहीं देखते. अपनी प्रजा के लिए आपके प्यार और लगन को देखकर वे लज्जित हुए हैं; आग आपके शत्रुओं को निगल लेगी.
12 O Jehovah, Thou appointest peace to us, For, all our works also Thou hast wrought for us.
याहवेह हमें शांति देंगे; क्योंकि आपने हमारे सब कामों को सफल किया है.
13 O Jehovah our God, lords have ruled us besides Thee, Only, by Thee we make mention of Thy name.
हे याहवेह हमारे परमेश्वर आपके अलावा और स्वामियों ने भी हम पर शासन किया है, किंतु हम तो आपके ही नाम का स्मरण करते हैं.
14 Dead — they live not, Rephaim, they rise not, Therefore Thou hast inspected and dost destroy them, Yea, thou destroyest all their memory.
वे मर गये हैं, वे जीवित नहीं होंगे; वे तो छाया-समान हैं, वे नहीं उठेंगे. आपने उन्हें दंड दिया और उनका नाश कर दिया; आपने उनकी याद तक मिटा डाली.
15 Thou hast added to the nation, O Jehovah, Thou hast added to the nation, Thou hast been honoured, Thou hast put far off all the ends of earth.
हे याहवेह, आपने जाति को बढ़ाया; और आप महान हुए. आपने देश की सब सीमाओं को बढ़ाया.
16 O Jehovah, in distress they missed Thee, They have poured out a whisper, Thy chastisement [is] on them.
हे याहवेह, कष्ट में उन्होंने आपको पुकारा; जब आपकी ताड़ना उन पर हुई, वे प्रार्थना ही कर सके.
17 When a pregnant woman cometh near to the birth, She is pained — she crieth in her pangs, So we have been from Thy face, O Jehovah.
जिस प्रकार जन्म देने के समय प्रसूता प्रसव पीड़ा में चिल्लाती और छटपटाती है, उसी प्रकार याहवेह आपके सामने हमारी स्थिति भी ऐसी ही है.
18 We have conceived, we have been pained. We have brought forth as it were wind, Salvation we do not work in the earth, Nor do the inhabitants of the world fall.
हम गर्भवती समान थे, हम प्रसव पीड़ा में छटपटा रहे थे, ऐसा प्रतीत होता है मानो हमने वायु प्रसव की. हमने अपने देश के लिए कोई विजय प्राप्त न की, और न ही संसार के निवासियों का पतन हुआ.
19 'Thy dead live — My dead body they rise. Awake and sing, ye dwellers in the dust, For the dew of herbs [is] thy dew, And the land of Rephaim thou causest to fall.
इस्राएली जो मरे हैं वे जीवित हो जाएंगे; और उनके शव उठ खड़े होंगे, तुम जो धूल में लेटे हुए हो जागो और आनंदित हो. क्योंकि तुम्हारी ओस भोर की ओस के समान है; और मरे हुए पृथ्वी से जीवित हो जाएंगे.
20 Come, My people, enter into thy inner chambers, And shut thy doors behind thee, Hide thyself shortly a moment till the indignation pass over.
मेरी प्रजा, आओ और अपनी कोठरी में जाकर द्वार बंद कर लो; थोड़ी देर के लिए अपने आपको छिपा लो जब तक क्रोध शांत न हो जाए.
21 For, lo, Jehovah is coming out of His place, To charge the iniquity of the inhabitant of the earth upon him, And revealed hath the earth her blood, Nor doth she cover any more her slain!'
देखो, याहवेह अपने निवास स्थान से पृथ्वी के लोगों को उनके अपराधों के लिए दंड देने पर हैं. पृथ्वी अपना खून प्रकट कर देगी; और हत्या किए हुओं को अब और ज्यादा छिपा न सकेगी.
