Isaiah 24
1 Lo, Jehovah is emptying the land, And is making it waste, And hath overturned [it on] its face, And hath scattered its inhabitants.
Eis que o Senhor esvazia a terra, e a desola, e transtorna a sua face, e espalha os seus moradores.
2 And it hath been — as a people so a priest, As the servant so his master, As the maid-servant so her mistress, As the buyer so the seller, As the lender so the borrower, As the usurer so he who is lifting [it] on himself.
E assim como fôr o povo, assim será o sacerdote; como o servo, assim o seu senhor; como a serva, assim a sua senhora; como o comprador, assim o vendedor; como o que empresta, assim o que toma emprestado; como o que dá usura, assim o que toma usura.
3 Utterly emptied is the land, and utterly spoiled, For Jehovah hath spoken this word:
De todo se esvaziará a terra, e de todo será saqueada, porque o Senhor pronunciou esta palavra.
4 Mourned, faded hath the land, Languished, faded hath the world, Languished have they — the high place of the people of the land.
A terra pranteia e se murcha: o mundo enfraquece e se murcha: enfraquecem os mais altos do povo da terra.
5 And the land hath been defiled under its inhabitants, Because they have transgressed laws, They have changed a statute, They have made void a covenant age-during.
Porque a terra está contaminada por causa dos seus moradores; porquanto trespassam as leis, mudam os estatutos, e aniquilam a alliança eterna.
6 Therefore a curse hath consumed the land, And the inhabitants in it are become desolate, Therefore consumed have been inhabitants of the land, And few men have been left.
Por isso a maldição consome a terra; e os que habitam n'ella serão desolados; por isso serão queimados os moradores da terra, e poucos homens ficarão de resto.
7 Mourned hath the new wine, languished the vine, Sighed have all the joyful of heart.
Pranteia o mosto, enfraquece a vida; e suspirarão todos os alegres de coração.
8 Ceased hath the joy of tabrets, Ceased hath the noise of exulting ones, Ceased hath the joy of a harp.
Já cessou o folguedo dos tamboris, acabou o arruido dos que pulam de prazer, e descançou a alegria da harpa.
9 With a song they drink not wine, Bitter is strong drink to those drinking it.
Com cantares não beberão vinho; a bebida forte será amarga para os que a beberem.
10 It was broken down — a city of emptiness, Shut hath been every house from entrance.
Já demolida está a cidade vazia, todas as casas fecharam, ninguem já pode entrar.
11 A cry over the wine [is] in out-places, Darkened hath been all joy, Removed hath been the joy of the land.
Um lastimoso clamor por causa do vinho se ouve nas ruas: toda a alegria se escureceu, já se desterrou o gozo da terra.
12 Left in the city [is] desolation, And [with] wasting is the gate smitten.
Desolação ainda ficou de resto na cidade, e com estalidos se quebra a porta.
13 When thus it is in the heart of the land, In the midst of the peoples, As the compassing of the olive, As gleanings when harvest hath been finished,
Porque assim será no interior da terra, e no meio d'estes povos, como a sacudidura da oliveira, e como os rabiscos, quando está acabada a vindima.
14 They — they lift up their voice, They sing of the excellency of Jehovah, They have cried aloud from the sea.
Estes alçarão a sua voz, e cantarão com alegria; e por causa da gloria do Senhor exultarão desde o mar
15 Therefore in prosperity honour ye Jehovah, In isles of the sea, the name of Jehovah, God of Israel.
Por isso glorificae ao Senhor nos valles, e nas ilhas do mar ao nome do Senhor Deus d'Israel.
16 From the skirt of the earth we heard songs, The desire of the righteous. And I say, 'Leanness [is] to me, Leanness [is] to me, woe [is] to me.' Treacherous dealers dealt treacherously, Yea, treachery, treacherous dealers dealt treacherously.
Dos ultimos fins da terra ouvimos psalmos para gloria do Justo; porém agora digo eu: Emmagreço, emmagreço, ai de mim! os perfidos tratam perfidamente, e com perfidia tratam os perfidos perfidamente.
17 Fear, and a snare, and a gin, [Are] on thee, O inhabitant of the land.
O temor, e a cova, e o laço veem sobre ti, ó morador da terra.
18 And it hath come to pass, He who is fleeing from the noise of the fear Doth fall into the snare, And he who is coming up from the midst of the snare, Is captured by the gin, For windows on high have been opened, And shaken are foundations of the land.
E será que aquelle que fugir da voz do temor cairá na cova, e o que subir da cova o laço o prenderá; porque já as janellas do alto se abrem, e os fundamentos da terra tremerão.
19 Utterly broken down hath been the land, Utterly broken hath been the land, Utterly moved hath been the land.
De todo será quebrantada a terra, de todo se romperá a terra, e de todo se moverá a terra.
20 Stagger greatly doth the land as a drunkard, And it hath been moved as a lodge, And heavy on it hath been its transgression, And it hath fallen, and addeth not to rise.
De todo balanceará a terra como o bebado, e será movida e removida como a choça de noite; e a sua transgressão se aggravará sobre ella, e cairá, e nunca mais se levantará.
21 And it hath come to pass, in that day, Jehovah layeth a charge on the host of the high place in the high place, And on the kings of the land on the land.
E será que n'aquelle dia o Senhor visitará os exercitos do alto na altura, e os reis da terra sobre a terra.
22 And they have been gathered — A gathering of bound ones in a pit, And shut up they have been in a prison, And after a multitude of days are inspected.
E juntamente serão amontoados como presos n'uma masmorra, e serão encarcerados n'um carcere: e outra vez serão visitados depois de muitos dias.
23 And confounded hath been the moon, And ashamed hath been the sun, For reigned hath Jehovah of Hosts In mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, And over-against His elders — honour!
E a lua se envergonhará, e o sol se confundirá quando o Senhor dos Exercitos reinar no monte de Sião e em Jerusalem; e então perante os seus anciãos haverá gloria.
