Hosea 1

1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Hosea, son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel:

(Dies ist) das Wort des HERRN, das an Hosea, den Sohn Beeris, ergangen ist in den Tagen der judäischen Könige Ussia, Jotham, Ahas und Hiskia und in den Tagen des israelitischen Königs Jerobeam, des Sohnes des Joas.

2 The commencement of Jehovah's speaking by Hosea. And Jehovah saith unto Hosea, 'Go, take to thee a woman of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms, for utterly go a-whoring doth the land from after Jehovah.'

Als der HERR zum erstenmal mit Hosea redete, sagte der HERR zu Hosea: »Gehe hin, nimm dir ein Dirnenweib und Dirnenkinder! Denn das Land ist ehebrecherisch vom HERRN abgefallen (und ganz zur Dirne geworden).«

3 And he goeth and taketh Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceiveth and beareth to him a son;

Da ging (Hosea) hin und heiratete Gomer, die Tochter Diblaims; die wurde guter Hoffnung und gebar ihm einen Sohn.

4 and Jehovah saith unto him, 'Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little, and I have charged the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and have caused to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel;

Da sagte der HERR zu ihm: »Gib ihm den Namen ›Jesreel‹! Denn schon in nächster Zeit will ich für das zu Jesreel vergossene Blut das Strafgericht am Haus Jehus vollziehen und dem Königtum des Hauses Israel ein Ende machen,

5 and it hath come to pass in that day that I have broken the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.'

auch will ich an jenem Tage den Bogen Israels zerbrechen in der Talebene Jesreel.«

6 And she conceiveth again, and beareth a daughter, and He saith to him, 'Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I add no more to pity the house of Israel, for I do utterly take them away;

Hierauf wurde sie abermals guter Hoffnung und gebar eine Tochter; da sagte er zu ihm: »Gib ihr den Namen ›Ungeliebt‹! Denn ich will fortan dem Hause Israel keine Liebe mehr erweisen, daß ich ihnen immerfort Erbarmen gewähren sollte.

7 and the house of Judah I pity, and have saved them by Jehovah their God, and do not save them by bow, and by sword, and by battle, by horses, and by horsemen.'

Aber dem Hause Juda will ich Erbarmen erweisen und ihnen Rettung schaffen durch (mich), den HERRN, ihren Gott; nicht aber will ich ihnen Rettung schaffen durch Bogen, Schwert und Krieg, auch nicht durch Rosse und Reiter.«

8 And she weaneth Lo-Ruhamah, and conceiveth, and beareth a son;

Als sie dann die ›Ungeliebt‹ entwöhnt hatte, wurde sie nochmals guter Hoffnung und gebar einen Sohn.

9 and He saith, 'Call his name Lo-Ammi, for ye [are] not My people, and I am not for you;

Da sagte der HERR: »Gib ihm den Namen ›Nicht-mein-Volk‹, denn ihr seid nicht mein Volk, und ich gehöre nicht (mehr) zu euch.«

10 and the number of the sons of Israel hath been as the sand of the sea, that is not measured nor numbered, and it hath come to pass in the place where it is said to them, Ye [are] not My people, it is said to them, Sons of the Living God;

(Dereinst) jedoch wird die Zahl der Kinder Israel dem Sand am Meer gleichen, der sich nicht messen und nicht zählen läßt; und es wird geschehen: statt daß man jetzt zu ihnen sagt: »Ihr seid ›Nicht-mein-Volk‹«, werden sie »Söhne des lebendigen Gottes« genannt werden.

11 and gathered have been the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel together, and they have appointed to themselves one head, and have gone up from the land, for great [is] the day of Jezreel.

Dann werden die Kinder Juda und die Kinder Israel sich zusammentun und über sich ein Oberhaupt setzen und aus dem Lande hinaufziehen; denn groß ist der Tag von Jesreel.
