Hosea 1

1 A word of Jehovah that hath been unto Hosea, son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel:

Paroles du Seigneur qui vinrent à Osée, fils de Béeri, durant les jours d'Ozias, et de Joathan, et d'Achaz, et d'Ézéchias, rois de Juda, et durant les jours de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d'Israël.

2 The commencement of Jehovah's speaking by Hosea. And Jehovah saith unto Hosea, 'Go, take to thee a woman of whoredoms, and children of whoredoms, for utterly go a-whoring doth the land from after Jehovah.'

Commencement des paroles du Seigneur à Osée. Et le Seigneur dit à Osée: Va et prends pour toi une femme de prostitution; aie des enfants de la prostitution, parce que la terre se prostitue, et se prostituera en se retirant du Seigneur.

3 And he goeth and taketh Gomer daughter of Diblaim, and she conceiveth and beareth to him a son;

Et il alla, et il prit Gomer, fille de Debélaïm, et elle conçut, et elle lui enfanta un fils.

4 and Jehovah saith unto him, 'Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little, and I have charged the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and have caused to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel;

Et le Seigneur lui dit: Donne-lui le nom de Jezraël, parce que, encore un peu de temps, et Je vengerai le sang de Jezraël sur la maison de Juda, et Je ferai cesser la royauté de la maison d'Israël.

5 and it hath come to pass in that day that I have broken the bow of Israel, in the valley of Jezreel.'

Et il arrivera, en ce jour-là, que Je briserai l'arc d'Israël dans la vallée de Jezraël.

6 And she conceiveth again, and beareth a daughter, and He saith to him, 'Call her name Lo-Ruhamah, for I add no more to pity the house of Israel, for I do utterly take them away;

Et elle conçut encore, et elle enfanté une fille. Et le Seigneur dit à Osée: Donne-lui le nom de Sans-Pitié, parce que Je ne continuerai plus d'avoir pitié de la maison d'Israël, mais Je lui résisterai et lui résisterai.

7 and the house of Judah I pity, and have saved them by Jehovah their God, and do not save them by bow, and by sword, and by battle, by horses, and by horsemen.'

Envers les fils de Juda Je serai miséricordieux, et Je les sauverai par le Seigneur leur Dieu; mais Je ne les sauverai pas par l'arc, ni par le glaive, ni par la guerre, ni par les chevaux, ni par les cavaliers.

8 And she weaneth Lo-Ruhamah, and conceiveth, and beareth a son;

Et elle sevra cette fille Sans-Pitié; et elle conçut encore, et elle enfanta un fils.

9 and He saith, 'Call his name Lo-Ammi, for ye [are] not My people, and I am not for you;

Le Seigneur dit à Osée: Appelle-le Non-Mon-Peuple; parce que vous n'êtes plus Mon peuple, et Je ne suis plus votre Dieu.

10 and the number of the sons of Israel hath been as the sand of the sea, that is not measured nor numbered, and it hath come to pass in the place where it is said to them, Ye [are] not My people, it is said to them, Sons of the Living God;

Et le nombre des fils d'Israël a été comme le sable de la mer, que l'on ne peut ni mesurer ni compter; et ceci arrivera dans le lieu même où il leur a été dit: Vous n'êtes plus Mon peuple; et ils seront appelés fils du Dieu vivant.

11 and gathered have been the sons of Judah and the sons of Israel together, and they have appointed to themselves one head, and have gone up from the land, for great [is] the day of Jezreel.

Et les fils de Juda se réuniront, et en même temps ceux d'Israël, et ils institueront pour eux une seule principauté, et ils se répandront sur la terre, parce que le jour de Jezraël est grand.
