< Hosea 8 >
1 'Unto thy mouth — a trumpet, As an eagle against the house of Jehovah, Because they transgressed My covenant, And against My law they have rebelled.
Mete twonpèt la sou lèv ou yo! Yon bagay tankou malfini vini kont lakay SENYÈ a; akoz yo te transgrese akò Mwen an, e fè rebèl kont lalwa Mwen an.
2 To Me they cry, 'My God, we — Israel — have known Thee.'
Yo va rele a Mwen menm: ‘Bondye mwen an, nou menm—Israël—Nou konnen Ou.’
3 Cast off good hath Israel, an enemy pursueth him.
Israël te rejte sa ki bon; lènmi an va kouri dèyè l.
4 They have made kings, and not by Me, They have made princes, and I have not known, Their silver and their gold they have made to them idols, So that they are cut off.
Yo vin plase wa yo, men pa selon Mwen menm. Yo te chwazi prens yo, men pa selon Mwen menm. Ak ajan ak lò pa yo, yo te fè zidòl pou kont yo, jis pou yo ta ka koupe retire nèt.
5 Cast off hath thy calf, O Samaria, Burned hath Mine anger against them, Till when are they not capable of purity?
Kite Samarie jete jenn bèf li deyò! Kòlè Mwen ap brile kont yo! Pou konbyen de tan yo va rete san kapasite pou pirifye?
6 For even it [is] of Israel; an artificer made it, And it [is] not God, For the calf of Samaria is fragments!
Paske, sa sòti menm an Israël! Se yon ouvriye ki fè l. Li pa Bondye. Anverite, jenn bèf Samarie a va kraze an mòso.
7 For wind they sow, and a hurricane they reap, Stalk it hath none — a shoot not yielding grain, If so be it yield — strangers do swallow it up.
Paske yo simen van, e yo rekòlte toubiyon.
8 Israel hath been swallowed up, Now they have been among nations, As a vessel in which is no delight.
Israël vin vale nèt. Koulye a, se pami nasyon yo ye; tankou yon veso ki pa bay plezi a okenn moun.
9 For they — they have gone up [to] Asshur, A wild ass alone by himself [is] Ephraim, They have hired lovers!
Paske yo te monte Assyrie, kon yon bourik mawon pou kont li. Éphraïm te achte moun pou l ta renmen ak yo.
10 Also though they hire among nations, Now I gather them, and they are pained a little, From the burden of a king of princes.
Malgre yo vann tèt yo pami nasyon yo, se koulye a, Mwen va ranmase yo. Yo kòmanse vin febli akoz presyon a wa de sa yo ak pwisans.
11 Because Ephraim did multiply altars to sin, They have been to him altars to sin.
Akoz Éphraïm te miltipliye lotèl pou fè peche yo, Yo te devni lotèl pou li pou peche yo.
12 I write for him numerous things of My law, As a strange thing they have been reckoned.
Malgre sa Mwen te ekri pou li règleman san fen de Lalwa Mwen yo, men yo gade yo tankou yon bagay ki dwòl.
13 The sacrifices of Mine offerings! They sacrifice flesh, and they eat, Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin, They — [to] Egypt they turn back.
Pou sakrifis ofrann Mwen yo, yo fè sakrifis vyann, e yo manje l. SENYÈ a pa pran okenn plezi nan yo. Konsa, Li va sonje inikite yo, e pini peche yo. Yo va retounen an Egypte.
14 And forget doth Israel his Maker, and buildeth temples, And Judah hath multiplied cities of defence, And I have sent a fire into his cities, And it hath consumed their palaces!
Paske Israël te bliye Kreyatè li. Li te bati palè yo. Konsa, Juda te miltipliye vil fòtifye yo; men Mwen va voye dife sou vil li yo, e konsa, li va devore gwo palè li yo.
