Hebrews 10
1 For the law having a shadow of the coming good things — not the very image of the matters, every year, by the same sacrifices that they offer continually, is never able to make perfect those coming near,
La ley es apenas una sombra de las cosas buenas que vendrían, y no de la realidad como tal. De modo que no podía justificar a los que venían a adorar a Dios por medio de sacrificios repetitivos que se ofrecían cada año.
2 since, would they not have ceased to be offered, because of those serving having no more conscience of sins, having once been purified?
De otro modo ¿no se habrían detenido los sacrificios? Si los adoradores hubieran sido limpiados una vez y para siempre, nunca más habrían tenido conciencias culpables.
3 but in those [sacrifices] is a remembrance of sins every year,
Pero tales sacrificios, en efecto, le recuerdan a la gente los pecados año tras año,
4 for it is impossible for blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
porque es imposible que la sangre de toros y cabras quite los pecados.
5 Wherefore, coming into the world, he saith, 'Sacrifice and offering Thou didst not will, and a body Thou didst prepare for me,
Por eso, cuando Cristo vino al mundo dijo: “Tú no querías sacrificios ni ofrendas, sino que preparaste un cuerpo para mí.
6 in burnt-offerings, and concerning sin-offerings, Thou didst not delight,
Las ofrendas quemadas y los sacrificios por el pecado no te agradaron.
7 then I said, Lo, I come, (in a volume of the book it hath been written concerning me, ) to do, O God, Thy will;'
Entonces dije: ‘Dios, considera que he venido a hacer tu voluntad, tal como se dice de mí en el libro’”.
8 saying above — 'Sacrifice, and offering, and burnt-offerings, and concerning sin-offering Thou didst not will, nor delight in,' — which according to the law are offered —
Como se menciona arriba: “No quisiste sacrificios ni ofrendas. Las ofrendas quemadas y los sacrificios por el pecado no te agradaron”, (aunque eran ofrecidos conforme a los requisitos de la ley).
9 then he said, 'Lo, I come to do, O God, Thy will;' he doth take away the first that the second he may establish;
Entonces él dijo: “Mira, he venido a hacer tu voluntad”. Entonces él abandona el primer pacto para establecer el segundo,
10 in the which will we are having been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once,
por medio del cual todos somos santificados a través de Jesucristo, quien ofrece su cuerpo una vez y para siempre.
11 and every priest, indeed, hath stood daily serving, and the same sacrifices many times offering, that are never able to take away sins.
Todos los sumos sacerdotes ofician en los servicios cada día, una y otra vez, ofreciendo los mismos sacrificios que no pueden quitar los pecados.
12 And He, for sin one sacrifice having offered — to the end, did sit down on the right hand of God, —
Pero este Sacerdote, después de ofrecer un solo sacrificio por los pecados, que dura para siempre, se sentó a la diestra de Dios.
13 as to the rest, expecting till He may place his enemies [as] his footstool,
Y ahora espera hasta que todos sus enemigos sean vencidos, y vengan a ser como banquillo para sus pies.
14 for by one offering he hath perfected to the end those sanctified;
Porque con un solo sacrificio él justificó para siempre a los que están siendo santificados.
15 and testify to us also doth the Holy Spirit, for after that He hath said before,
Tal como nos dice el Espíritu Santo, por haber dicho:
16 'This [is] the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, giving My laws on their hearts, and upon their minds I will write them,'
“Este es el pacto que haré con ellos más adelante, dice el Señor. Pondré mis leyes en sus corazones, y las escribiré en sus mentes”. Entonces añade:
17 and 'their sins and their lawlessness I will remember no more;'
“Nunca más me acordaré de sus pecados e iniquidades”.
18 and where forgiveness of these [is], there is no more offering for sin.
Después de estar libres de tales cosas, las ofrendas por el pecado ya no son necesarias.
19 Having, therefore, brethren, boldness for the entrance into the holy places, in the blood of Jesus,
Ahora tenemos esta seguridad, hermanos y hermanas, de poder entrar al Lugar Santísimo por la sangre de Jesús.
20 which way he did initiate for us — new and living, through the vail, that is, his flesh —
Por medio de su vida y muerte, él abrió a través del velo que nos lleva hacia Dios, una nueva forma de vivir.
21 and a high priest over the house of God,
Siendo que tenemos este gran sacerdote que está a cargo de la casa de Dios,
22 may we draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith, having the hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having the body bathed with pure water;
acerquémonos a Dios, con mentes sinceras y plena confianza. Nuestras mentes han sido rociadas para purificarlas de nuestros malos pensamientos, y nuestros cuerpos han sido lavados y limpiados con agua pura.
23 may we hold fast the unwavering profession of the hope, (for faithful [is] He who did promise),
Así que aferrémonos a la esperanza de la cual les hablamos a otros, y sin dudar, porque el Dios que prometió es fiel.
24 and may we consider one another to provoke to love and to good works,
Pensemos en cómo podemos animarnos unos a otros a amar y hacer el bien.
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as a custom of certain [is], but exhorting, and so much the more as ye see the day coming nigh.
No deberíamos desistir en cuanto a reunirnos, como algunos lo han hecho. De hecho, deberíamos animarnos unos a otros, especialmente cuando vemos que el Fin se acerca.
26 For we — wilfully sinning after the receiving the full knowledge of the truth — no more for sins doth there remain a sacrifice,
Porque si seguimos pecando deliberadamente después de haber entendido la verdad, ya no hay sacrificio para los pecados.
27 but a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery zeal, about to devour the opposers;
Lo único que queda es el temor, la espera de un juicio inminente y el fuego terrible que destruye a los que son rebeldes con Dios.
28 any one who did set at nought a law of Moses, apart from mercies, by two or three witnesses, doth die,
Quien rechaza la ley de Moisés es llevado a muerte sin misericordia, ante la evidencia de dos o tres testigos.
29 of how much sorer punishment shall he be counted worthy who the Son of God did trample on, and the blood of the covenant did count a common thing, in which he was sanctified, and to the Spirit of the grace did despite?
¿Cuánto más merecedores de castigo creen que serán quienes hayan pisoteado al Hijo de Dios, siendo que han menospreciado la sangre que selló el pacto que nos santificaba, considerándolo como ordinario y trivial, y que han abusado del Espíritu de gracia?
30 for we have known Him who is saying, 'Vengeance [is] Mine, I will recompense, saith the Lord;' and again, 'The Lord shall judge His people;' —
Conocemos a Dios, y él dijo: “Me aseguraré de hacer justicia; le daré a la gente lo que merece”. También dijo: “El Señor juzgará a su pueblo”.
31 fearful [is] the falling into the hands of a living God.
¡Cosa terrible es caer en manos del Dios vivo!
32 And call to your remembrance the former days, in which, having been enlightened, ye did endure much conflict of sufferings,
Recuerden el pasado, cuando después de entender la verdad, experimentaron gran sufrimiento.
33 partly both with reproaches and tribulations being made spectacles, and partly having become partners of those so living,
En ocasiones fueron mostrados como espectáculos, siendo insultados y atacados. En otros tiempos ustedes se mantuvieron siendo solidarios con los que sufrían.
34 for also with my bonds ye sympathised, and the robbery of your goods with joy ye did receive, knowing that ye have in yourselves a better substance in the heavens, and an enduring one.
Mostraron compasión con los que estaban en la cárcel, y entregaron con alegría sus posesiones cuando les fueron confiscadas, sabiendo que cosas mejores vendrán para ustedes, cosas que realmente perdurarán.
35 Ye may not cast away, then, your boldness, which hath great recompense of reward,
Así que no pierdan su fe en Dios, porque será recompensada con abundancia.
36 for of patience ye have need, that the will of God having done, ye may receive the promise,
Es necesario que sean pacientes, para que habiendo hecho la voluntad de Dios, reciban lo que él ha prometido.
37 for yet a very very little, He who is coming will come, and will not tarry;
“En poco tiempo vendrá, tal como lo dijo, y no tardará.
38 and 'the righteous by faith shall live,' and 'if he may draw back, My soul hath no pleasure in him,'
Los que hacen lo recto vivirán por su fe en Dios, y si se retractan de su compromiso, no me agradaré de ellos”.
39 and we are not of those drawing back to destruction, but of those believing to a preserving of soul.
Pero nosotros no somos la clase de personas que se retracta y termina en la perdición. Nosotros somos los que creemos en Dios y su salvación.
