Habakkuk 1
1 The burden that Habakkuk the prophet hath seen:
੧ਉਹ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਹਬੱਕੂਕ ਨਬੀ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ:
2 Till when, O Jehovah, have I cried, And Thou dost not hear? I cry unto Thee — 'Violence,' and Thou dost not save.
੨ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਕਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦੇਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੇਂਗਾ? ਜਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਕਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ “ਜ਼ੁਲਮ, ਜ਼ੁਲਮ” ਚਿੱਲਾਵਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਨਾ ਬਚਾਵੇਂਗਾ?
3 Why dost Thou shew me iniquity, And perversity dost cause to behold? And spoiling and violence [are] before me, And there is strife, and contention doth lift [itself] up,
੩ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਲਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹਨ, ਝਗੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ।
4 Therefore doth law cease, And judgment doth not go forth for ever, For the wicked is compassing the righteous, Therefore wrong judgment goeth forth.
੪ਇਸ ਲਈ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਢਿੱਲੀ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿੱਤਦਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਧਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਿਆਂ ਵਿਗੜ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
5 Look ye on nations, and behold and marvel greatly. For a work He is working in your days, Ye do not believe though it is declared.
੫ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖੋ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰੋ, ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਮੰਨੋ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੋ! ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਰਤੀਤ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰੋਗੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਵੀ ਜਾਵੇ!
6 For, lo, I am raising up the Chaldeans, The bitter and hasty nation, That is going to the broad places of earth, To occupy tabernacles not its own.
੬ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਸ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਅਤੇ ਜਲਦਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੌਮ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਚੌੜਾਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰ ਪੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਸੇਬਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।
7 Terrible and fearful it [is], From itself its judgment and its excellency go forth.
੭ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਅਤੇ ਡਰਾਉਣੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਦਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੀ ਨਿੱਕਲਦਾ ਹੈ।
8 Swifter than leopards have been its horses, And sharper than evening wolves, And increased have its horsemen, Even its horsemen from afar come in, They fly as an eagle, hasting to consume.
੮ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘੋੜੇ ਚੀਤਿਆਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੇਜ਼ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਬਘਿਆੜਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਕੁੱਦਦੇ-ਟੱਪਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਹਨ, ਹਾਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਦੂਰੋਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਕਾਬ ਦੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉੱਡਦੇ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਝਪਟਦਾ ਹੈ!
9 Wholly for violence it doth come in, Their faces swallowing up the east wind, And it doth gather as the sand a captivity.
੯ਉਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਵੱਲ ਮੂੰਹ ਕਰਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਧਦੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਕੈਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੇਤ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਮਾਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
10 And at kings it doth scoff, And princes [are] a laughter to it, At every fenced place it doth laugh, And it heapeth up dust, and captureth it.
੧੦ਉਹ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਠੱਠਾ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਸਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
11 Then passed on hath the spirit, Yea, he doth transgress, And doth ascribe this his power to his god.
੧੧ਤਦ ਉਹ ਹਵਾ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, - ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਦੇਵਤਾ ਹੈ।
12 Art not Thou of old, O Jehovah, my God, my Holy One? We do not die, O Jehovah, For judgment Thou hast appointed it, And, O Rock, for reproof Thou hast founded it.
੧੨ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈਂ? ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਾਂਗੇ। ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਆਂ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਹੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
13 Purer of eyes than to behold evil, To look on perverseness Thou art not able, Why dost Thou behold the treacherous? Thou keepest silent when the wicked Doth swallow the more righteous than he,
੧੩ਤੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਬਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦਾ, ਫੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਧੋਖੇਬਾਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਜਦ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਧਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਗਲ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ,
14 And Thou makest man as fishes of the sea, As a creeping thing — none ruling over him.
੧੪ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਘਿੱਸਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਹਾਕਮ ਨਹੀਂ।
15 Each of them with a hook he hath brought up, He doth catch it in his net, and gathereth it in his drag, Therefore he doth joy and rejoice.
੧੫ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁੰਡੀ ਨਾਲ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਾਂ ਜਾਲ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
16 Therefore he doth sacrifice to his net, And doth make perfume to his drag, For by them [is] his portion fertile, and his food fat.
੧੬ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲ਼ ਲਈ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਹਾਂ ਜਾਲ਼ ਲਈ ਧੂਪ ਧੁਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ! ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਰਿਸ਼ਟ-ਪੁਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਭੋਜਨ ਚਿਕਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
17 Doth he therefore empty his net, And continually to slay nations spare not?
੧੭ਕੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਜਾਲ਼ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦਈ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੱਤ ਵੱਢਣ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਟੇਗਾ?
