Habakkuk 2
1 On my charge I stand, and I station myself on a bulwark, and I watch to see what He doth speak against me, and what I do reply to my reproof.
Sobre o meu posto de guarda estarei, e sobre a fortaleza ficarei e vigiarei, para ver o que ele me falará, e o que eu responderei à minha queixa.
2 And Jehovah answereth me and saith: 'Write a vision, and explain on the tables, That he may run who is reading it.
Então o SENHOR me respondeu, e disse: Escreve a visão, e a põe claramente em tábuas, para que mesmo quem esteja correndo consiga ler.
3 For yet the vision [is] for a season, And it breatheth for the end, and doth not lie, If it tarry, wait for it, For surely it cometh, it is not late.
Pois a visão ainda é para um tempo determinado, mas ao fim ela dará testemunho, e não mentirá; se tardar, espera, porque virá; não se atrasará.
4 Lo, a presumptuous one! Not upright is his soul within him, And the righteous by his stedfastness liveth.
Eis que o soberbo não tem a alma correta em si; mas o justo viverá por sua fé.
5 And also, because the wine [is] treacherous, A man is haughty, and remaineth not at home, Who hath enlarged as sheol his soul, And is as death that is not satisfied, And doth gather unto itself all the nations, And doth assemble unto itself all the peoples, (Sheol h7585)
Pois também o vinho é enganador, [é como] um homem arrogante, que não fica quieto em casa; sua avidez se alarga como o Xeol, e se assemelha à morte, que não se farta; e ajunta para si todas as nações, e reúne para si todos os povos. (Sheol h7585)
6 Do not these — all of them — against him a simile taken up, And a moral of acute sayings for him, And say, Woe [to] him who is multiplying [what is] not his? Till when also is he multiplying to himself heavy pledges?
Por acaso todos estes não levantarão um insulto e provérbios de zombaria contra ele? E dirão: Ai daquele que acumula o que não era seu, e daquele de se enriquece por meio de extorsão! Até quando?
7 Do not thy usurers instantly rise up, And those shaking thee awake up, And thou hast been for a spoil to them?
Por acaso não se levantarão de repente seus credores, e se despertarão os que te fazem tremer? Tu serás despojado por eles.
8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, Spoil thee do all the remnant of the peoples, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
Visto que tu despojaste muitas nações, todos os povos restantes te despojarão; por causa do sangue das pessoas, e da violência contra a terra, as cidades e todos os seus moradores.
9 Woe [to] him who is gaining evil gain for his house, To set on high his nest, To be delivered from the hand of evil,
Ai daquele que obtém [riquezas] para sua casa por meios malignos, para pôr no alto seu ninho, para tentar se livrar do poder da calamidade.
10 Thou hast counselled a shameful thing to thy house, To cut off many peoples, and sinful [is] thy soul.
Tramaste plano vergonhoso para tua casa, exterminaste muitos povos, e pecaste contra tua vida.
11 For a stone from the wall doth cry out, And a holdfast from the wood answereth it.
Porque a pedra clamará desde a parede, e a trave desde a estrutura de madeiras lhe responderá.
12 Woe [to] him who is building a city by blood, And establishing a city by iniquity.
Ai daquele que edifica a cidade com sangues, e do que estabelece a vila com perversidade!
13 Lo, is it not from Jehovah of Hosts And peoples are fatigued for fire, And nations for vanity are weary?
Eis que isto não vem da parte do SENHOR dos exércitos, que os povos trabalham para o fogo, e as nações se cansam em vão?
14 For full is the earth of the knowledge of the honour of Jehovah, As waters cover [the bottom of] a sea.
Porque a terra se encherá de conhecimento da glória do SENHOR, como as águas cobrem o mar.
15 Woe [to] him who is giving drink to his neighbour, Pouring out thy bottle, and also making drunk, In order to look on their nakedness.
Ai daquele que dá bebidas a seu próximo, tu que embebedas com teu furor, para que possas vê-los nus.
16 Thou hast been filled — shame without honour, Drink thou also, and be uncircumcised, Turn round unto thee doth the cup of the right hand of Jehovah, And shameful spewing [is] on thine honour.
Tu te encherás de vergonha no lugar de honra; bebe tu também, e descobre o prepúcio; o cálice da mão direita do SENHOR voltará sobre ti, e haverá vergonha sobre a tua glória.
17 For violence [to] Lebanon doth cover thee, And spoil of beasts doth affright them, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
Porque a violência cometida contra o Líbano te cobrirá, e a destruição dos animais selvagens o assombrará; por causa dos sangues das pessoas, e da violência contra a terra, as cidades, e todos os seus moradores.
18 What profit hath a graven image given That its former hath graven it? A molten image and teacher of falsehood, That trusted hath the former on his own formation — to make dumb idols?
Que proveito há na imagem de escultura, que seu formador a esculpiu? E na imagem de fundição, que ensina mentiras? Quem a formou nela confia, tendo feito ídolos mudos.
19 Woe [to] him who is saying to wood, 'Awake,' 'Stir up,' to a dumb stone, It a teacher! lo, it is overlaid — gold and silver, And there is no spirit in its midst.
Ai daquele que diz ao pedaço de madeira: Desperta-te; e à pedra muda: Levanta-te! Poderá essa coisa ensinar? Eis que está coberta de ouro e prata, mas não há dentro dela espírito algum.
20 And Jehovah [is] in His holy temple, Be silent before Him, all the earth!
Porém o SENHOR está em seu santo templo; que toda a terra se cale diante dele.
