Habakkuk 2
1 On my charge I stand, and I station myself on a bulwark, and I watch to see what He doth speak against me, and what I do reply to my reproof.
| اکنون از برج دیدبانی خود بالا می‌روم و بر حصار ایستاده، منتظر می‌مانم تا ببینم خداوند به شکایت من چه جواب می‌دهد. |
2 And Jehovah answereth me and saith: 'Write a vision, and explain on the tables, That he may run who is reading it.
| آنگاه خداوند به من فرمود: «آنچه را به تو نشان می‌دهم با خطی درشت و خوانا بر تخته سنگی بنویس تا هر کس بتواند با یک نگاه آن را بخواند. |
3 For yet the vision [is] for a season, And it breatheth for the end, and doth not lie, If it tarry, wait for it, For surely it cometh, it is not late.
| اگرچه آنچه به تو نشان می‌دهم در حال حاضر اتفاق نمی‌افتد، ولی مطمئن باش که سرانجام در وقت معین به وقوع خواهد پیوست. هر چند تا وقوع آن، مدت زیادی طول بکشد، ولی منتظر آن باش، زیرا وقوع آن حتمی و بدون تأخیر خواهد بود. |
4 Lo, a presumptuous one! Not upright is his soul within him, And the righteous by his stedfastness liveth.
| «به کسانی که به خود می‌بالند نگاه کن! این بدکاران نابود خواهند شد، اما عادل به ایمان خواهد زیست. |
5 And also, because the wine [is] treacherous, A man is haughty, and remaineth not at home, Who hath enlarged as sheol his soul, And is as death that is not satisfied, And doth gather unto itself all the nations, And doth assemble unto itself all the peoples, (Sheol h7585)
| به درستی که ثروت، خیانتکار است و این بابِلی‌های متکبر را به دام خواهد انداخت. آنها با حرص و ولع، مانند مرگ، قومها را یکی پس از دیگری به کام خود می‌کشند و اسیر می‌سازند و هرگز سیر نمی‌شوند. (Sheol h7585) |
6 Do not these — all of them — against him a simile taken up, And a moral of acute sayings for him, And say, Woe [to] him who is multiplying [what is] not his? Till when also is he multiplying to himself heavy pledges?
| اما زمانی خواهد آمد که همهٔ این اسیرشدگان آنها را تمسخر کرده، خواهند گفت:”ای کسانی که مال و ثروت مردم را به زور از چنگشان درآورده‌اید، اینک به سزای ستمگری‌ها و غارتگری‌های خود می‌رسید.“» |
7 Do not thy usurers instantly rise up, And those shaking thee awake up, And thou hast been for a spoil to them?
| ای کسانی که بر دیگران ظلم کرده‌اید، طلبکارانتان ناگهان برخاسته، بر سرتان خواهند ریخت و شما را که درمانده شده‌اید غارت خواهند کرد. |
8 Because thou hast spoiled many nations, Spoil thee do all the remnant of the peoples, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
| بسیاری از قومها را غارت کردید و حال، بقیهٔ قومها شما را غارت خواهند کرد، زیرا خون مردم را ریختید و سرزمینها و شهرها را با مردمش نابود کردید. |
9 Woe [to] him who is gaining evil gain for his house, To set on high his nest, To be delivered from the hand of evil,
| وای بر شما که از راههای نادرست ثروت اندوخته‌اید تا زندگی امن و راحتی داشته باشید. |
10 Thou hast counselled a shameful thing to thy house, To cut off many peoples, and sinful [is] thy soul.
| وای بر شما که قومها را نابود کرده‌اید، زیرا ننگ و نابودی برای خود به بار آورده‌اید. |
11 For a stone from the wall doth cry out, And a holdfast from the wood answereth it.
| حتی سنگهای دیوار و تیرهای سقف خانه‌تان بر ضد شما فریاد برمی‌آورند! |
12 Woe [to] him who is building a city by blood, And establishing a city by iniquity.
| وای بر شما که شهرها را با پولی که از راه آدمکشی و غارت به دست آورده‌اید، می‌سازید؛ |
13 Lo, is it not from Jehovah of Hosts And peoples are fatigued for fire, And nations for vanity are weary?
| زیرا دارایی خدانشناسان دود شده، به هوا می‌رود و دسترنج آنها نابود می‌گردد. خداوند لشکرهای آسمان چنین مقرر کرده است. |
14 For full is the earth of the knowledge of the honour of Jehovah, As waters cover [the bottom of] a sea.
| همان‌گونه که آبها دریا را پر می‌سازند، زمانی خواهد رسید که درک و شناخت عظمت خداوند، جهان را پر خواهد ساخت. |
15 Woe [to] him who is giving drink to his neighbour, Pouring out thy bottle, and also making drunk, In order to look on their nakedness.
| وای بر شما که همسایگان خود را در زیر ضربه‌هایتان مانند آدمهای مست، بی‌حال و گیج می‌کنید و در آن حال از رسوایی آنها لذت می‌برید. |
16 Thou hast been filled — shame without honour, Drink thou also, and be uncircumcised, Turn round unto thee doth the cup of the right hand of Jehovah, And shameful spewing [is] on thine honour.
| به‌زودی شکوه و جلال خود شما به ننگ و رسوایی تبدیل خواهد شد و شما پیالهٔ داوری خداوند را خواهید نوشید و گیج شده، به زمین خواهید افتاد. |
17 For violence [to] Lebanon doth cover thee, And spoil of beasts doth affright them, Because of man's blood, and of violence [to] the land, [To] the city, and [to] all dwelling in it.
| جنگلهای لبنان را از بین بردید، اکنون خود شما نابود خواهید شد! حیوانات آنجا را به وحشت انداخته کشتید، پس حال، برای تمام آدمکشی‌ها و ظلم و ستمی که در سرزمینها و شهرها کردید، وحشتزده کشته خواهید شد. |
18 What profit hath a graven image given That its former hath graven it? A molten image and teacher of falsehood, That trusted hath the former on his own formation — to make dumb idols?
| از پرستش بتهایی که به دست انسان ساخته شده‌اند چه فایده‌ای بردید؟ آیا آنها توانستند چیزی به شما یاد دهند؟ چقدر نادان بودید که به ساختهٔ دست خودتان توکل کردید! |
19 Woe [to] him who is saying to wood, 'Awake,' 'Stir up,' to a dumb stone, It a teacher! lo, it is overlaid — gold and silver, And there is no spirit in its midst.
| وای بر آنانی که از بتهای چوبین و بی‌جان خود می‌خواهند که به پا خیزند و ایشان را نجات دهند! و از سنگهای بی‌زبان انتظار دارند که سخن بگویند و ایشان را راهنمایی کنند! بیرون بتها با طلا و نقره پوشانیده شده است، ولی در درونشان نَفَسی نیست. |
20 And Jehovah [is] in His holy temple, Be silent before Him, all the earth!
| خداوند در معبد مقدّس خویش است؛ پس تمام جهان در حضور او خاموش باشد. |
