< Habakkuk 1 >
1 The burden that Habakkuk the prophet hath seen:
Ty entañe nioni’ i Kabakòke mpitoky.
2 Till when, O Jehovah, have I cried, And Thou dost not hear? I cry unto Thee — 'Violence,' and Thou dost not save.
O ry Iehovà, pak’ombia ty hitoreovako, Ihe tsy mijanjiñeo? naho ipoñafako feo, ami’ty hoe: Varata! Tsy rombahe’o!
3 Why dost Thou shew me iniquity, And perversity dost cause to behold? And spoiling and violence [are] before me, And there is strife, and contention doth lift [itself] up,
Ino ty ampahaisaha’o ahy o tsy fanjofahañeo, naho ampandrendreha’o ty halonjerañe, naho ty harotsahañe, vaho ty halò-tserehañe aoloko ey? eo ka o mpiolao naho o mpandietseo.
4 Therefore doth law cease, And judgment doth not go forth for ever, For the wicked is compassing the righteous, Therefore wrong judgment goeth forth.
Aa le repake t’i Hake, vaho tsy miboake ho vantañe o zakao; fa arikoboña’ o tsivokatseo o vañoñeo, aa le zaka vìlañe avao ty mandeha.
5 Look ye on nations, and behold and marvel greatly. For a work He is working in your days, Ye do not believe though it is declared.
Sambao o kilakila’ ondatio, le maharendreha naho mañaraharà, Ilatsao fa hanoeñe amo andro’ areoo ty fitoloñañe tsy hiantofa’ areo, ndra t’ie italilañe.
6 For, lo, I am raising up the Chaldeans, The bitter and hasty nation, That is going to the broad places of earth, To occupy tabernacles not its own.
Inao! te hampitroareko o nte-Kasdìo, i fifeheañe mafaitse naho malìsay, o hangovovoke hitsaha’e i tane bey heneheneio hitavana’e o akiba tsy a iareoo.
7 Terrible and fearful it [is], From itself its judgment and its excellency go forth.
Ie mampangebahebake naho mampirevendreveñe; miboak’ am-bata’e ty hionjona’ ty zaka naho ty enge’e.
8 Swifter than leopards have been its horses, And sharper than evening wolves, And increased have its horsemen, Even its horsemen from afar come in, They fly as an eagle, hasting to consume.
Masika te amo farasio o soavala’eo, ie maola te amo amboa-hako an-kaleñeo, mitsapiotsapioke o mpiningitseo, boake tsietoitane añe o mpiningi’eo; miherereake hoe hondria malisa t’ie hanao revozeake.
9 Wholly for violence it doth come in, Their faces swallowing up the east wind, And it doth gather as the sand a captivity.
Fonga hihofike mb’eo am-bodongero’e o azeo, miatre-daharañe manahake i tiok’ atiñanañey hanontom-pirohy hoe faseñe.
10 And at kings it doth scoff, And princes [are] a laughter to it, At every fenced place it doth laugh, And it heapeth up dust, and captureth it.
Ie mpanivetive mpanjaka, inje’ iareo o roandriañeo, itohafa’ iareo ze rova fatratse, ampirampia’ iereo tane le mitavañe.
11 Then passed on hath the spirit, Yea, he doth transgress, And doth ascribe this his power to his god.
Mihelañe hoe tioke ty arofo’iareo, fa voa hakeo, amy te samposampo’e ty haozara’e.
12 Art not Thou of old, O Jehovah, my God, my Holy One? We do not die, O Jehovah, For judgment Thou hast appointed it, And, O Rock, for reproof Thou hast founded it.
Tsy taolo’ ty atao andro hao irehe ry Iehovà Andrianañahareko masiñe? tsy ho mongotse zahay. Ry Iehovà, toe tinendre’o ho zakaeñe re, Ihe Lamilamy, ro nañory aze ho liloveñe.
13 Purer of eyes than to behold evil, To look on perverseness Thou art not able, Why dost Thou behold the treacherous? Thou keepest silent when the wicked Doth swallow the more righteous than he,
Amam-pihaino mikotritriake irehe, tsy mañeva azo ty hivazoho haratiañe; tsy mete mioniñe hatsivokarañe; akore te metea’o o mañoho-dozao? Ihe mianjiñe avao, t’ie abotse’ i lo-tserekey t’indaty vantañe te ama’e;
14 And Thou makest man as fishes of the sea, As a creeping thing — none ruling over him.
Ie anoe’o hoe fian-driake ondatio, hoe raha milalilaly tsy amam-pifehe.
15 Each of them with a hook he hath brought up, He doth catch it in his net, and gathereth it in his drag, Therefore he doth joy and rejoice.
Fonga tarihe’e am-porengotse, kozozote’e an-karato, naho manontoñe an-jarifa, vaho mirebeke am-pitreñañe,
16 Therefore he doth sacrifice to his net, And doth make perfume to his drag, For by them [is] his portion fertile, and his food fat.
Misoroñe amo harato’eo, naho mañemboke amo jarifa’eo, amy t’ie ro mahavondrake ty anjara’e, naho mahatobàke o mahakama’eo.
17 Doth he therefore empty his net, And continually to slay nations spare not?
Aa ho koahe’e hao o harato’eo? ho zamane’e nainai’e hao o fifeheañeo fa tsy hanisa?
