< Galatians 4 >
1 And I say, so long time as the heir is a babe, he differeth nothing from a servant — being lord of all,
Asɛm a mereka ne sɛ, mpɛn dodoɔ a ɔdedifoɔ no yɛ abɔfra no, ɛwom sɛ agyapadeɛ no nyinaa hyɛ ne nsa deɛ, nanso nsonsonoeɛ biara nna ɔno ne akoa ntam.
2 but is under tutors and stewards till the time appointed of the father,
Esiane sɛ ɔnnyiniiɛ no enti, nnipa bi wɔ hɔ a wɔhwɛ toto nneɛma ma no kɔsi ɛberɛ a nʼagya ahyɛ sɛ wɔnnane agyapadeɛ no mma no no.
3 so also we, when we were babes, under the elements of the world were in servitude,
Saa ara na na yɛn nso yɛteɛ. Na yɛte sɛ mmɔfra a ewiase ahonhom dii yɛn so.
4 and when the fulness of time did come, God sent forth His Son, come of a woman, come under law,
Nanso, mmerɛ pa no duruiɛ no, Onyankopɔn somaa ne Ba a ɔbaa woo no Mmara ase
5 that those under law he may redeem, that the adoption of sons we may receive;
sɛ ɔmmɛgye wɔn a wɔhyɛ Mmara ase sɛdeɛ wɔbɛyɛ Onyankopɔn mma.
6 and because ye are sons, God did send forth the spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying, 'Abba, Father!'
Esiane sɛ moyɛ mma enti, Onyankopɔn somaa ne Ba no Honhom baa yɛn akoma mu, Honhom a ɛfrɛ “Agya, Agya.”
7 so that thou art no more a servant, but a son, and if a son, also an heir of God through Christ.
Enti, wonyɛ akoa bio, na mmom woyɛ ɔba. Esiane sɛ woyɛ ne ba enti, Onyankopɔn de deɛ ɔwɔ nyinaa bɛma ne mma.
8 But then, indeed, not having known God, ye were in servitude to those not by nature gods,
Mmerɛ bi a atwam no, na monnim Onyankopɔn, enti na moyɛ nkoa ma wɔn a wɔnyɛ anyame.
9 and now, having known God — and rather being known by God — how turn ye again unto the weak and poor elements to which anew ye desire to be in servitude?
Nanso, afei a moahunu Onyankopɔn anaasɛ Onyankopɔn ahunu mo yi, adɛn enti na mopɛ sɛ modane mo ho ma nkyerɛkyerɛ a aba nni mu no? Adɛn enti na mopɛ sɛ wɔde mo yɛ nkoa bio?
10 days ye observe, and months, and times, and years!
Modi nna, abosome, nnapɔnna ne mfeɛ bi.
11 I am afraid of you, lest in vain I did labour toward you.
Mesuro sɛ, ɛkwan bi so, masɛe mʼahoɔden wɔ mo ho.
12 Become as I [am] — because I also [am] as ye brethren, I beseech you; to me ye did no hurt,
Mesrɛ mo, me nuanom, monyɛ sɛ me, ɛfiri sɛ meyɛɛ sɛ mo. Monyɛɛ me bɔne biara.
13 and ye have known that through infirmity of the flesh I did proclaim good news to you at the first,
Sɛdeɛ monim no, ɛberɛ a mebɛkaa Asɛmpa no kyerɛɛ mo no, mede yadeɛ na ɛbaeɛ.
14 and my trial that [is] in my flesh ye did not despise nor reject, but as a messenger of God ye did receive me — as Christ Jesus;
Ɛwom sɛ na me yadeɛ no ha mo deɛ, nanso moampo me. Mmom, mogyee me sɛdeɛ mobɛgye Onyankopɔn ɔbɔfoɔ; mogyee me sɛdeɛ mobɛgye Kristo Yesu.
15 what then was your happiness? for I testify to you, that if possible, your eyes having plucked out, ye would have given to me;
Anigyeɛ a mowɔ no nyinaa afa he? Mɛtumi aka sɛ, sɛ mobɛtumi a, anka mobɛtutu mo ani de ama me.
16 so that your enemy have I become, being true to you?
Nokorɛ a meka kyerɛ mo enti na afei mabɛyɛ mo ɔtamfoɔ yi?
17 they are zealous for you — [yet] not well, but they wish to shut us out, that for them ye may be zealous;
Saa nnipa no pɛ sɛ wɔtwe mo ba wɔn nkyɛn, nanso wɔnni adwene pa. Wɔhwehwɛ sɛ wɔbɛtete me ne mo ntam na ama mo ani aku wɔn ho sɛdeɛ wɔn ani ku mo ho no.
18 and [it is] good to be zealously regarded, in what is good, at all times, and not only in my being present with you;
Ɛyɛ sɛ mobɛyɛ nsi ɛberɛ biara, ɛberɛ a mewɔ mo nkyɛn ne ɛberɛ a menni mo nkyɛn mpo.
19 my little children, of whom again I travail in birth, till Christ may be formed in you,
Me mma pa, mo a mo enti merehunu awoyea bio kɔsi sɛ Kristo bɛda ne ho adi wɔ mo mu no,
20 and I was wishing to be present with you now, and to change my voice, because I am in doubt about you.
mepɛ sɛ mewɔ mo nkyɛn, na anka masesa kwan a me fa so kasa, ɛfiri sɛ me tirim ntene me wɔ mo ho.
21 Tell me, ye who are willing to be under law, the law do ye not hear?
Monka nkyerɛ me, mo a mopɛ sɛ mohyɛ Mmara no ase no, monnim deɛ Mmara no ka no anaa?
22 for it hath been written, that Abraham had two sons, one by the maid-servant, and one by the free-woman,
Wɔatwerɛ sɛ, na Abraham wɔ mma baanu. Ɔne afenaa bi woo baako na ɔne ɔbaa bi a ɔde ne ho nso woo baako.
23 but he who [is] of the maid-servant, according to flesh hath been, and he who [is] of the free-woman, through the promise;
Afenaa ba no, wɔwoo no honam kwan so, ɛnna ɔbaa a ɔde ne ho no nso, Onyankopɔn bɔhyɛ enti na ɔwoo ne ba no.
24 which things are allegorized, for these are the two covenants: one, indeed, from mount Sinai, to servitude bringing forth, which is Hagar;
Saa asɛm yi yɛ mfatoho ɛfiri sɛ, saa mmaa baanu yi gyina hɔ ma apam mmienu. Apam baako firi bepɔ Sinai so, na ɛgyina hɔ ma mma a wɔbɛyɛ nkoa: Ɔno ne Hagar.
25 for this Hagar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and doth correspond to the Jerusalem that now [is], and is in servitude with her children,
Hagar gyina hɔ ma bepɔ Sinai a ɛwɔ Arabia na ɛte sɛ kuropɔn Yerusalem, ɛfiri sɛ ɔne ne mma wɔ nkoasom mu.
26 and the Jerusalem above is the free-woman, which is mother of us all,
Nanso, Yerusalem a ɛwɔ ɔsoro no deɛ, ɛde ne ho na ɔyɛ yɛn maame.
27 for it hath been written, 'Rejoice, O barren, who art not bearing; break forth and cry, thou who art not travailing, because many [are] the children of the desolate — more than of her having the husband.'
Ɛfiri sɛ wɔatwerɛ sɛ, “Ao ɔbaa a woyɛ obonini, di ahurisie, wo a wonnwoo da; ma wo nne so na team, wo a awoɔ nkaa wo da, ɛfiri sɛ ɔbaa a woannya awoɔ da no mma dɔɔso sene deɛ ɔwɔ kunu.”
28 And we, brethren, as Isaac, are children of promise,
Me nuanom mmaa ne mmarima, bɔhyɛ no enti na wɔwoo mo sɛdeɛ wɔwoo Isak no.
29 but as then he who was born according to the flesh did persecute him according to the spirit, so also now;
Saa ɛberɛ no na ɔba a wɔnam honam kwan so woo no no taa deɛ wɔnam Honhom no tumi mu woo no no. Na ɛnnɛ yi nso, ɛte saa.
30 but what saith the Writing? 'Cast forth the maid-servant and her son, for the son of the maid-servant may not be heir with the son of the free-woman;'
Na Atwerɛsɛm no ka sɛn? “Pam afenaa no ne ne babarima yi firi ha; ɛfiri sɛ, afenaa babarima no ne ɔdehyeɛ no renkyɛ agyapadeɛ no.”
31 then, brethren, we are not a maid-servant's children, but the free-woman's.
Enti, anuanom, yɛnyɛ afenaa no mma, na mmom, yɛyɛ ɔbaa a ɔde ne ho no mma.
