Ezekiel 35
1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
Et la parole de l’Éternel vint à moi, disant:
2 'Son of man, set thy face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,
Fils d’homme, tourne ta face contre la montagne de Séhir, et prophétise contre elle,
3 and thou hast said to it: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, O mount Seir, And have stretched out My hand against thee, And made thee a desolation and an astonishment.
et dis-lui: Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Voici, j’en veux à toi, montagne de Séhir; et j’étendrai ma main sur toi, et je te réduirai en désolation et en désert.
4 Thy cities a waste I make, and thou art a desolation, And thou hast known that I [am] Jehovah.
Je réduirai tes villes en déserts, et tu seras une désolation; et tu sauras que je suis l’Éternel.
5 Because of thy having an enmity age-during, And thou dost saw the sons of Israel, By the hands of the sword, In the time of their calamity, In the time of the iniquity of the end:
Parce que tu as eu une inimitié perpétuelle, et que tu as livré les fils d’Israël à la puissance de l’épée, au temps de leur calamité, au temps de l’iniquité de la fin:
6 Therefore, I live — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Surely for blood I do appoint thee, And blood doth pursue thee, If blood thou hast not hated, Blood also doth pursue thee.
à cause de cela, je suis vivant, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, que je te mettrai à sang, et le sang te poursuivra; puisque tu n’as pas haï le sang, le sang te poursuivra.
7 And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning,
Et je réduirai en désolation et en désert la montagne de Séhir, et j’en retrancherai les allants et les venants;
8 And filled his mountains with his wounded, Thy hills, and thy valleys, and all thy streams, The pierced of the sword fall into them.
et je remplirai ses montagnes de ses tués. Des tués par l’épée tomberont sur tes collines, et dans tes vallées, et dans tous tes ravins.
9 Desolations age-during I make thee, And thy cities do not return, And ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.
Je te réduirai en désolations perpétuelles, et tes villes ne seront plus habitées; et vous saurez que je suis l’Éternel.
10 Because of thy saying: The two nations and the two lands are mine, and we have possessed it, And Jehovah hath been there;
Parce que tu as dit: Les deux nations et les deux pays seront à moi, et nous les posséderons; – et l’Éternel y était;
11 Therefore, I live — an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, And I have done according to thine anger, And according to thine envy, With which thou hast wrought, Because of thy hatred against them, And I have been known among them when I judge thee.
à cause de cela, je suis vivant, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel, que j’agirai selon ta colère et selon ta jalousie, comme tu as agi à cause de ta haine contre eux; et je me ferai connaître parmi eux, quand je t’aurai jugé.
12 And thou hast known that I — Jehovah, I have heard all thy despisings that thou hast spoken Against mountains of Israel, saying: A desolation, to us they were given for food.
Et tu sauras que moi, l’Éternel, j’ai entendu tous tes outrages que tu as proférés contre les montagnes d’Israël, disant: Elles sont désolées, elles nous sont données pour les dévorer.
13 And ye magnify yourselves against Me with your mouth, And have made abundant against Me your words, I — I have heard.
Et vous vous êtes, de votre bouche, élevés contre moi, et vous avez multiplié contre moi vos paroles; moi, je l’ai entendu.
14 Thus said the Lord Jehovah: According to the rejoicing of the whole land, A desolation I make of thee.
Ainsi dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel: Quand toute la terre se réjouira, je te réduirai en désolation.
15 According to thy joy at the inheritance of the house of Israel because of desolation, So I do to thee — a desolation thou art, O mount Seir, and all Edom — all of it, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah!
Comme tu t’es réjouie sur l’héritage de la maison d’Israël, parce qu’il a été désolé, j’en ferai de même envers toi; tu seras une désolation, montagne de Séhir, et Édom tout entier; et ils sauront que je suis l’Éternel.
