Ezekiel 29

1 In the tenth year, in the tenth [month], in the twelfth of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying,

١ وَفِي الْيَوْمِ الثَّانِي عَشَرَ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ الْعَاشِرِ الْعِبْرِيِّ (أَيْ كَانُونَ الأَوَّلِ – دِيسَمْبَرَ) مِنَ السَّنَةِ الْعَاشِرَةِ (لِسَبْيِ الْمَلِكِ يَهُويَاكِينَ)، أَوْحَى إِلَيَّ الرَّبُّ بِكَلِمَتِهِ قَائِلاً:

2 'Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy concerning him, and concerning Egypt — all of it.

٢ «يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، الْتَفِتْ نَحْوَ فِرْعَوْنَ مَلِكِ مِصْرَ وَتَنَبَّأْ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى مِصْرَ كُلِّهَا

3 Speak, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I [am] against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt! The great dragon that is crouching in the midst of his floods, Who hath said, My flood [is] my own, And I — I have made it [for] myself.

٣ وَقُلْ هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ: هَا أَنَا أَنْقَلِبُ عَلَيْكَ يَا فِرْعَوْنُ مَلِكَ مِصْرَ، أَيُّهَا التِّمْسَاحُ الْكَامِنُ فِي وَسَطِ أَنْهَارِهِ، الْقَائِلُ: النَّهْرُ لِي وَقَدْ صَنَعْتُهُ لِنَفْسِي.

4 And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And I have caused the fish of thy floods to cleave to thy scales, And I have caused thee to come up from the midst of thy floods, And every fish of thy floods to thy scales doth cleave.

٤ هَا أَنَا أَضَعُ خَزَائِمَ فِي فَكَّيْكَ وَأَجْعَلُ سَمَكَ أَنْهَارِكَ يَلْتَصِقُ بِحَرَاشِفِكَ، وَأُخْرِجُكَ قَسْراً مِنْ أَنْهَارِكَ، وَأَسْمَاكُهَا مَا بَرِحَتْ لاصِقَةً بِحَرَاشِفِكَ.

5 And I have left thee in the wilderness, Thou and every fish of thy floods, On the face of the field thou dost fall, Thou art not gathered nor assembled, To the beast of the earth and to the fowl of the heavens I have given thee for food.

٥ وَأَهْجُرُكَ فِي الْبَرِّيَّةِ مَعَ جَمِيعِ سَمَكِ أَنْهَارِكَ، فَتَتَهَاوَى عَلَى سَطْحِ أَرْضِ الصَّحْرَاءِ فَلا تُجْمَعُ وَلاتُلَمُّ بَلْ تَكُونُ قُوتاً لِوُحُوشِ الْبَرِّ وَلِطُيُورِ السَّمَاءِ.

6 And known have all inhabitants of Egypt That I [am] Jehovah, Because of their being a staff of reed to the house of Israel.

٦ فَيُدْرِكُ كُلُّ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ أَنِّي أَنَا الرَّبُّ، لأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا عُكَّازَ قَصَبٍ هَشَّةً لِشَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ،

7 In their taking hold of thee by thy hand, — thou art crushed, And hast rent to them all the shoulder, And in their leaning on thee thou art broken, And hast caused all their thighs to stand.

٧ مَا إِنِ اعْتَمَدُوا عَلَيْكَ بِأَكُفِّهِمْ حَتَّى انْكَسَرْتَ وَمَزَّقْتَ أَكْتَافَهُمْ، وَعِنْدَمَا تَوَكَّأُوا عَلَيْكَ تَحَطَّمْتَ وَقَصَفْتَ كُلَّ مُتُونِهِمْ.

8 Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am bringing in against thee a sword, And have cut off from thee man and beast.

٨ لِذَلِكَ هَا أَنَا أَجْلِبُ عَلَيْكَ سَيْفاً وَأَسْتَأْصِلُ مِنْكَ الإِنْسَانَ وَالْحَيَوَانَ،

9 And the land of Egypt hath been for a desolation and a waste, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah. Because he said: The flood [is] mine, and I made [it].

٩ فَتُصْبِحُ دِيَارُ مِصْرَ مُقْفِرَةً خَرِبَةً، فَيُدْرِكُونَ أَنِّي أَنَا الرَّبُّ، لأَنَّ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالَ: لِيَ النَّهْرُ وَأَنَا قَدْ صَنَعْتُهُ.

10 Therefore, lo, I [am] against thee, and against thy floods, And have given the land of Egypt for wastes, A waste, a desolation, from Migdol to Syene, And unto the border of Cush.

١٠ لِذَلِكَ هَا أَنَا أَنْقَلِبُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلَى أَنْهَارِكَ، وَأَجْعَلُ أَرَاضِي مِصْرَ خَرَائِبَ مُتَرَدِّمَةً مُقْفِرَةً، مِنْ مَجْدَلَ إِلَى أَسْوَانَ حَتَّى تُخُومِ إِثْيُوبِيَا.

11 Not pass over into it doth a foot of man, Yea, the foot of beast doth not pass into it, Nor is it inhabited forty years.

١١ لَا تَمُرُّ بِها قَدَمُ إِنْسَانٍ وَلا تَجْتَازُهَا رِجْلُ بَهِيمَةٍ، وَتَظَلُّ مَهْجُورَةً مِنَ النَّاسِ طَوَالَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً.

12 And I have made the land of Egypt a desolation, In the midst of desolate lands, And its cities, in the midst of waste cities, Are a desolation forty years, And I have scattered the Egyptians among nations, And I have dispersed them through lands.

١٢ وَأَجْعَلُ دِيَارَ مِصْرَ الأَكْثَرَ وَحْشَةً بَيْنَ الأَرَاضِي الْمُقْفِرَةِ، وَتَظَلُّ مُدُنُهَا الأَكْثَرَ خَرَاباً بَيْنَ الْمُدُنِ الْخَرِبَةِ وَأَشَدَّهَا وَحْشَةً طَوَالَ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، وَأُشَتِّتُ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ بَيْنَ الأُمَمِ وَأُفَرِّقُهُمْ فِي الْبُلْدَانِ.

13 But thus said the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years I gather the Egyptians Out of the peoples whither they have been scattered,

١٣ وَفِي نِهَايَةِ الأَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً أَجْمَعُ الْمِصْرِيِّينَ مِنْ بَيْنِ الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي تَشَتَّتُوا بَيْنَهَا.

14 And I have turned back [to] the captivity of Egypt, And I have brought them back [To] the land of Pathros, to the land of their birth, And they have been there a low kingdom.

١٤ وَأَرُدُّ سَبْيَهُمْ، وَأُعِيدُهُمْ إِلَى أَرْضِ فَتْرُوسَ مَوْطِنِهِمْ، فَيَكُونُونَ هُنَاكَ مَمْلَكَةً حَقِيرَةً.

15 Of the kingdoms it is lowest, And it lifteth not up itself any more above the nations, And I have made them few, So as not to rule among nations.

١٥ بَلْ تَكُونُ أَحْقَرَ الْمَمَالِكِ فَلا تَتَشَامَخُ بَعْدُ عَلَى بَقِيَّةِ الأُمَمِ، وَأَجْعَلُهُمْ أَقَلِّيَّةً لِئَلّا يَتَسَلَّطُوا عَلَى الشُّعُوبِ.

16 And it is no more to the house of Israel for a confidence, Bringing iniquity to remembrance, By their turning after them, And they have known that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.'

١٦ فَلا تَكُونُ بَعْدُ مَحَطَّ اعْتِمَادٍ لِشَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ، بَلْ تُذَكِّرُهُمْ بِإِثْمِهِمْ حِينَ ضَلُّوا وَرَاءَهُمْ، فَيُدْرِكُونَ أَنِّي أَنَا السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ».

17 And it cometh to pass, in the twenty and seventh year, in the first [month], in the first of the month, hath a word of Jehovah been unto me, saying:

١٧ وَفِي مَطْلَعِ الشَّهْرِ الأَوَّلِ الْعِبْرِيِّ (أَيْ آذَارَ – مَارِسَ) فِي السَّنَةِ السَّابِعَةِ وَالْعِشْرِينَ (مِنْ سَبْيِ الْمَلِكِ يَهُويَاكِينَ) أَوْحَى إِلَيَّ الرَّبُّ بِكَلِمَتِهِ قَائِلاً:

18 'Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Hath caused his force to serve a great service against Tyre, Every head [is] bald — every shoulder peeled, And reward he had none, nor his force, out of Tyre, For the service that he served against it.

١٨ «يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ، إِنَّ نَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ مَلِكَ بَابِلَ قَدْ سَخَّرَ جَيْشَهُ أَشَدَّ تَسْخِيرٍ ضِدَّ صُورَ، فَأَصْبَحَتْ كُلُّ رَأْسٍ مِنْ رُؤُوسِ جُنُودِهِ صَلْعَاءَ، وَكُلُّ كَتِفٍ مُجَرَّدَةً مِنَ الثِّيَابِ. وَلَكِنْ لَمْ يَغْنَمْ هُوَ وَلا جَيْشُهُ شَيْئاً مِنْ صُورَ رَغْمَ مَا كَابَدَهُ مِنْ جَهْدٍ لِلاِسْتِيلاءِ عَلَيْهَا.

19 Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah, Lo, I am giving to Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon the land of Egypt, And he hath taken away its store, And hath taken its spoil, and taken its prey, And it hath been a reward to his force.

١٩ لِذَلِكَ هَذَا مَا يُعْلِنُهُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ: هَا أَنَا أَبْذُلُ دِيَارَ مِصْرَ لِنَبُوخَذْنَصَّرَ مَلِكِ بَابِلَ فَيَسْتَوْلِي عَلَى ثَرْوَتِهَا، وَيَسْلُبُهَا غَنَائِمَهَا وَيَنْهَبُهَا، فَتَكُونُ هَذِهِ أُجْرَةً لِجَيْشِهِ.

20 His wage for which he laboured I have given to him, The land of Egypt — in that they wrought for Me, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

٢٠ قَدْ أَعْطَيْتُهُ أَرْضَ مِصْرَ لِقَاءَ تَعَبِهِ، لأَنَّهُ وَجَيْشَهُ قَدْ عَمِلُوا فِي خِدْمَتِي، يَقُولُ السَّيِّدُ الرَّبُّ.

21 In that day I cause to shoot up a horn to the house of Israel, And to thee I give an opening of the mouth in their midst, And they have known that I [am] Jehovah!'

٢١ فِي ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ، أُنْمِي قُوَّةَ شَعْبِ إِسْرَائِيلَ وَأَفْتَحُ فَمَكَ بَيْنَهُمْ، فَيُدْرِكُونَ أَنِّي أَنَا الرَّبُّ».
