Ezekiel 27
1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
Et la parole du Seigneur me fut adressée, disant:
2 'And thou, son of man, lift up concerning Tyre a lamentation, and thou hast said to Tyre:
Toi donc, fils d’un homme, fais entendre sur Tyr des lamentations;
3 O dweller on the entrances of the sea, Merchant of the peoples unto many isles, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: O Tyre, thou — thou hast said: I [am] the perfection of beauty.
Et tu diras à Tyr, qui habite à l’entrée de la mer, au siège du commerce des peuples pour des îles nombreuses: Voici ce que dit le Seigneur Dieu: Ô Tyr, tu as dit, je suis d’une parfaite beauté,
4 In the heart of the seas [are] thy borders, Thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
Et située au milieu de la mer.: Tes voisins qui t’ont bâtie ont mis le comble à ta beauté,
5 Of firs of Senir they have built to thee all thy double-boarded ships, Of cedars of Lebanon they have taken to make a mast for thee,
C’est avec les sapins du Sanir qu’ils t’ont construite ainsi que tous tes étages qui plongent dans la mer; ils ont pris un cèdre du Liban pour te faire un mât.
6 Of oaks of Bashan they made thine oars, Thy bench they have made of ivory, A branch of Ashurim from isles of Chittim.
Ils ont poli des chênes de Basan pour tes rames; et ils ont fait tes bancs avec l’ivoire des Indes, et les prétorioles avec le bois des îles d’Italie.
7 Of fine linen with embroidery from Egypt hath been thy sail, To be to thee for an ensign, Of blue and purple from isles of Elishah hath been thy covering.
Le byssus varié d’Egypte a été tissu en forme de voile pour être mis sur ton mât; l’hyacinthe et la pourpre des îles d’Elisa sont devenues ta couverture.
8 Inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad have been rowers to thee, Thy wise men, O Tyre, have been in thee, They [are] thy pilots.
Les habitants de Sidon et d’Arad ont été tes rameurs; tes sages, ô Tyr, sont devenus tes pilotes.
9 Elders of Gebal and its wise men have been in thee, Strengthening thy breach; All ships of the sea and their mariners, Have been in thee, to trade [with] thy merchandise.
Les vieillards de Gébal et ses hommes habiles ont eu des nautoniers pour le service de tout ton équipage; tous les vaisseaux de la mer et leurs nautoniers ont été engagés dans ton commerce.
10 Persian and Lud and Phut Have been in thy forces — thy men of war. Shield and helmet they hung up in thee, They — they have given out thine honour.
Les Perses, et les Lydiens, et les Lybiens étaient dans ton armée, tes hommes de guerre; ils ont suspendu chez toi la cuirasse et le bouclier pour ton ornement.
11 The sons of Arvad, and thy force, [Are] on thy walls round about, And short swordsmen in thy towers have been, Their shields they have hung up on thy walls round about, They — they have perfected thy beauty.
Les fils d’Arad, et ton armée, étaient sur tes murs tout autour; et aussi les Pygmées qui étaient sur tes tours ont suspendu leurs carquois à tes murs tout autour; ils ont mis eux-mêmes le comble à ta beauté.
12 Tarshish [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For silver, iron, tin, and lead, They have given out thy remnants.
Les Carthaginois qui négociaient avec toi par l’abondance de toutes les richesses, ont rempli tes foires d’argent, de fer, d’étain, et de plomb.
13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech — they [are] thy merchants, For persons of men, and vessels of brass, They have given out thy merchandise.
La Grèce, Thubal et Mosoch étaient tes courtiers; ils ont amené des esclaves et des vases d’airain à ton peuple.
14 They of the house of Togarmah, [For] horses, and riding steeds, and mules, They have given out thy remnants.
De la maison de Thogorma on amenait des chevaux, des cavaliers et des mulets à ton marché.
15 Sons of Dedan [are] thy merchants, Many isles [are] the mart of thy hand, Horns of ivory and ebony they sent back thy reward.
Les fils de Dédan ont négocié avec toi; beaucoup d’îles ont négocié par tes mains; elles t’ont donné des dents d’ivoire et de l’ébène en échange de tes marchandises.
16 Aram [is] thy merchant, Because of the abundance of thy works, For emerald, purple, and embroidery, And fine linen, and coral, and agate, They have given out thy remnants.
Le Syrien qui négociait avec toi à cause de la multitude de tes ouvrages, a exposé dans ton marché des pierreries et de la pourpre, et des vêtements de tricot, et du byssus, et de la soie, et du chodchod.
17 Judah and the land of Israel — they [are] thy merchants, For wheat of Minnith, and Pannag, And honey, and oil, and balm, They have given out thy merchandise.
Juda et la terre d’Israël étaient aussi tes courtiers; ils ont exposé dans tes foires du froment de première qualité, du baume, du miel, de l’huile et de la résine.
18 Damascus [is] thy merchant, For the abundance of thy works, Because of the abundance of all wealth, For wine of Helbon, and white wool.
Damas, qui négociait avec toi, te donnait pour la multitude de tes ouvrages une multitude de différentes richesses, du vin généreux, des laines de la couleur la plus belle.
19 Vedan and Javan go about with thy remnants, They have given shining iron, cassia, and cane, In thy merchandise it hath been.
Dan, et la Grèce et Mosel dans tes foires ont exposé du fer travaillé; il y avait du stacté et de la canne dans ton commerce.
20 Dedan [is] thy merchant, For clothes of freedom for riding.
Dédan était ton courtier pour les tapis à s’asseoir.
21 Arabia, and all princes of Kedar, They [are] the traders of thy hand, For lambs, and rams, and he-goats, In these thy merchants.
L’Arabie et tous les princes de Cédar ont négocié par tes mains; avec des agneaux, et des béliers, et des boucs, ils sont venus vers toi étant en commerce avec toi.
22 Merchants of Sheba and Raamah — they [are] thy merchants, For the chief of all spices, And for every precious stone, and gold, They have given out thy remnants.
Les marchands de Saba et de Réema eux-mêmes ont négocié avec toi en toutes sortes d’excellents aromates, en pierres précieuses, et en or qu’ils ont exposé dans ton marché.
23 Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, merchants of Sheba, Asshur — Chilmad — [are] thy merchants,
Haran, et Chené, et Eden ont négocié avec toi; Saba, Assur et Chelmad t’ont vendu leurs marchandises.
24 They [are] thy merchants for perfect things, For wrappings of blue, and embroidery, And for treasuries of rich apparel, With cords bound and girded, for thy merchandise,
Eux aussi trafiquaient avec toi de bien des manières pour des balles d’hyacinthe, de tissus de diverses couleurs et de trésors précieux qui étaient enveloppés et attachés avec des cordes; ils avaient encore des cèdres dans leurs trafics avec toi.
25 Ships of Tarshish [are] thy double walls of thy merchandise, And thou art filled and honoured greatly, In the heart of the seas.
Les vaisseaux de la mer étaient tes princes dans ton commerce; tu as été comblée de richesses et extrêmement glorifiée au milieu de la mer.
26 Into great waters have they brought thee, Those rowing thee, The east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Tes rameurs t’ont conduite sur les grandes eaux; mais le vent du midi t’a brisée au fond de la mer.
27 Thy wealth and thy remnants, Thy merchandise, thy mariners, And thy pilots, strengtheners of thy breach, And the traders of thy merchandise, And all thy men of war, who [are] in thee, And in all thine assembly that [is] in thy midst, Fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall,
Tes richesses, et tes trésors, et ton nombreux équipage, tes nautoniers, tes pilotes qui avaient en garde les objets à ton usage et commandaient à tes gens; et aussi tous les hommes de guerre qui étaient en toi, avec toute la multitude qui se trouve au milieu de toi, tomberont au fond de la mer au jour de ta ruine.
28 At the voice of the cry of thy pilots shake do the suburbs.
Au bruit de la clameur de tes pilotes, les flots seront troublés;
29 And come down from their ships have all handling an oar, Mariners, all the pilots of the sea, on the land they stand,
Et ils descendront de leurs vaisseaux, tous ceux qui tenaient la rame; les nautoniers et tous les pilotes de la mer se tiendront sur la terre.
30 And have sounded for thee with their voice, And cry bitterly, and cause dust to go up on their heads, In ashes they do roll themselves.
Ils se lamenteront sur toi à haute voix, et pousseront des cris amers; et ils jetteront de la poussière sur leurs têtes et se couvriront de cendre.
31 And they have made for thee baldness, And they have girded on sackcloth, And they have wept for thee, In bitterness of soul — a bitter mourning.
Et ils raseront à cause de toi leur chevelure et se ceindront de cilices; et ils te pleureront dans l’amertume de l’âme d’un pleur très amer.
32 And lifted up for thee have their sons a lamentation, And they have lamented over thee, who [is] as Tyre? As the cut-off one in the midst of the sea?
Et ils entonneront sur toi un chant lugubre, et se désoleront à ton sujet, disant: Quelle ville est comme Tyr, et quelle ville est devenue muette au milieu de la mer?
33 With the outgoing of thy remnants from the seas, Thou hast filled many peoples, With the abundance of thy riches, and thy merchandise, Thou hast made rich things of earth.
Toi qui, en faisant sortir tes marchandises de la mer, as comblé de biens des peuples nombreux, qui, par la multitude de tes richesses et de tes peuples, as enrichi des rois de la terre;
34 The time of [thy] being broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, Thy merchandise and all thy assembly in thy midst have fallen.
Maintenant tu as été brisée par la mer; tes richesses et toute la multitude qui était au milieu de toi sont tombées au profond des eaux.
35 All inhabitants of the isles have been astonished at thee, And their kings have been sore afraid, They have been troubled in countenance.
Tous les habitants des îles seront frappés de stupeur sur loi; et tous leurs rois battus par cette tempête ont changé de visage.
36 Merchants among the peoples have shrieked for thee, Wastes thou hast been, and thou art not — to the age!'
Les marchands de tous les peuples ont sifflé sur toi: tu as été réduite au néant, et tu ne seras plus à jamais.
