Ezekiel 22
1 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,
Me llegó un mensaje del Señor que decía:
2 'And thou, son of man, dost thou judge? dost thou judge the city of blood? then thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,
“Entonces, hijo de hombre, ¿estás dispuesto a juzgarlos? ¿Estás listo para juzgar a la gente de esta ciudad que ha causado tanto derramamiento de sangre? Haz que enfrenten todas las cosas repugnantes que han hecho,
3 and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: The city is shedding blood in its midst, For the coming in of its time, And it hath made idols on it for defilement.
y diles que esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios: Ustedes son una ciudad que ha provocado su propia perdición al asesinar a la gente dentro de sus muros, y al hacer ídolos para adorar que los hicieron inmundos.
4 By thy blood that thou hast shed thou hast been guilty, And by thine idols that thou hast made thou hast been defiled, And thou causest thy days to draw near, And art come in unto thine years, Therefore I have given thee a reproach to nations, And a derision to all the lands.
Eres culpable de asesinato, y te has hecho impura por los ídolos que has hecho. Has acortado tu vida: ¡tu tiempo se ha acabado! Por eso los demás se burlan de ti; todos se mofan de ti.
5 The near and the far-off from thee scoff at thee, O defiled of name — abounding in trouble.
¡La gente de cerca y de lejos se reirá de ti, ciudad corrupta y llena de confusión!
6 Lo, princes of Israel — each according to his arm Have been in thee to shed blood.
“Mira cómo todos tus líderes en Israel usan su poder para asesinar.
7 Father and mother made light of in thee, To a sojourner they dealt oppressively in thy midst, Fatherless and widow they oppressed in thee.
Desprecias a tus padres. Explotas a los extranjeros que viven contigo, y maltratas a los huérfanos y a las viudas.
8 My holy things thou hast despised, And My sabbaths thou hast polluted.
“Desprecias mis cosas sagradas y violas mis sábados.
9 Men of slander have been in thee to shed blood, And on the mountains they have eaten in thee, Wickedness they have done in thy midst.
Viven entre ustedes personas que acusan falsamente a otros para darles muerte. También tienes a los que comen comidas religiosas en santuarios paganos en las montañas, y cometen actos inmorales dentro de la ciudad.
10 The nakedness of a father hath one uncovered in thee, The defiled of impurity they humbled in thee.
“Algunos de los que viven en la ciudad tienen relaciones sexuales con las esposas de sus padres o con mujeres durante su período.
11 And each with the wife of his neighbour hath done abomination, And each his daughter-in-law hath defiled through wickedness, And each his sister, his father's daughter, hath humbled in thee.
Son el hogar de hombres malvados. Uno hace cosas repugnantes con la mujer de otro. Otro seduce a su nuera, mientras que otro viola a su hermana, la hija de su propio padre.
12 A bribe they have taken in thee to shed blood, Usury and increase thou hast taken, And cuttest off thy neighbour by oppression, And Me thou hast forgotten, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!
“Tu gente toma dinero para asesinar a otros. Cobran intereses y se lucran con los préstamos, y utilizan la extorsión para obtener dinero de sus vecinos. Te has olvidado de mí, declara el Señor Dios.
13 And lo, I have smitten My hand, Because of thy dishonest gain that thou hast gained, And for thy blood that hath been in thy midst.
“¡Así que cuidado! Aplaudo en señal de condena tus ganancias deshonestas y todos tus asesinatos.
14 Doth thy heart stand — are thy hands strong, For the days that I am dealing with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken and have done [it].
¿Van a ser tan valientes, y serán lo suficientemente fuertes para defenderse cuando llegue el momento en que yo me ocupe de ustedes? Yo, el Señor, he hablado, y voy a actuar.
15 And I have scattered thee among nations, And have spread thee out among lands, And consumed thy uncleanness out of thee.
Voy a dispersarlos entre las naciones y los distintos países. Pondré fin a sus actos impuros.
16 And thou hast been polluted in thyself Before the eyes of nations, And thou hast known that I [am] Jehovah.'
Porque cuando todos los demás vean cómo ustedes se han contaminado, entonces reconocerán que yo soy el Señor”.
17 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, 'Son of man,
Me llegó un mensaje del Señor que decía:
18 The house of Israel hath been to Me for dross, All of them [are] brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace — dross hath silver been,
“Hijo de hombre, el pueblo de Israel ha terminado como las impurezas que quedan al refinar el metal. Son como el cobre, el estaño, el hierro y el plomo en el horno: son las impurezas que quedan al refinar la plata.
19 Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because of your all becoming dross, Therefore, lo, I am gathering you unto the midst of Jerusalem,
“Así que esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios: Porque todos ustedes han terminado como impurezas, vean cómo los reúno en Jerusalén.
20 A gathering of silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, Unto the midst of a furnace — to blow on it fire, to melt it, So do I gather in Mine anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.
De la misma manera que un refinador recoge la plata, el cobre, el hierro, el plomo y el estaño y los mete en el alto horno para fundirlos con fuego, yo voy a recogerlos a ustedes en mi ira ardiente, y los mantendré allí hasta que los funda.
21 And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath, And ye have been melted in its midst.
“Voy a juntarlos a todos y los haré estallar con el fuego de mi ira, y serán fundidos allí en la ciudad.
22 As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst, And ye have known that I, Jehovah, I have poured out My fury upon you.'
Como la plata se funde en un horno, así serán fundidos en la ciudad. Entonces te darás cuenta de que yo, el Señor, te he hecho experimentar mi ira”.
23 And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:
Me llegó otro mensaje del Señor, que decía:
24 'Son of man, say to it, Thou [art] a land, It [is] not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation.
“Hijo de hombre, dile a la ciudad de Jerusalén que, en el momento del castigo, eres un país que no se ha limpiado, un lugar donde no ha caído lluvia,
25 A conspiracy of its prophets [is] in its midst, as a roaring lion tearing prey; The soul they have devoured, Wealth and glory they have taken, Its widows have multiplied in its midst.
“Sus dirigentes conspiran juntos y es como ver a un león rugiente destrozando a su presa. Destruyen al pueblo, se apoderan de todo lo que es valioso y hacen que haya muchas más viudas en la ciudad.
26 Its priests have wronged My law, And they pollute My holy things, Between holy and common they have not made separation, And between the unclean and the clean they have not made known, And from my sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, And I am pierced in their midst.
“Sus sacerdotes pervierten mi ley y hacen impuras mis cosas sagradas. No distinguen entre lo santo y lo ordinario, y no separan lo limpio de lo impuro. Se olvidan de mis sábados y hacen que la gente no me respete.
27 Its princes in its midst [are] as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain.
“Los funcionarios de su ciudad son como lobos que desgarran a su presa, matan a la gente y destruyen vidas para beneficiarse con el fraude.
28 And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, 'Thus said the Lord Jehovah:' And Jehovah hath not spoken.
“Sus profetas encubren lo que hacen, usando visiones falsas como cal y profecías que son mentira, diciendo: ‘Esto es lo que dice el Señor Dios’, cuando el Señor no ha dicho nada.
29 The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed — without judgment.
“La gente de este país es chantajista y ladrona. Maltratan a los pobres y a los necesitados y explotan a los extranjeros, tratándolos de manera totalmente injusta.
30 And I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land — not to destroy it, And I have not found.
“Traté de encontrar a uno de ellos que reparara el muro y defendiera la brecha para que cuando viniera no la destruyera, pero no pude encontrar a nadie.
31 And I pour out on them mine indignation, By fire of My wrath I have consumed them, Their way on their own head I have put, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah!'
Así que les he hecho experimentar mi hostilidad, abrasándolos con el fuego de mi ira. Me he asegurado de que sufran las consecuencias de lo que han hecho, declara el Señor Dios”.
