Exodus 40

1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

آنگاه خداوند به موسی فرمود:

2 'On the first day of the month, in the first month, thou dost raise up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting,

«در نخستین روز ماه اول، خیمهٔ ملاقات را بر پا کن

3 and hast set there the ark of the testimony, and hast covered over the ark with the vail,

و صندوق عهد را که ده فرمان در آن قرار دارد، در داخل خیمه بگذار و پردهٔ مخصوص را جلوی آن آویزان کن.

4 and hast brought in the table, and set its arrangement in order, and hast brought in the candlestick, and caused its lamps to go up.

سپس میز را در خیمه بگذار و لوازمش را روی آن قرار بده. چراغدان را نیز در خیمه بگذار و چراغهایش را روشن کن.

5 'And thou hast put the golden altar for perfume before the ark of the testimony, and hast put the covering of the opening to the tabernacle,

«مذبح طلا را برای سوزاندن بخور روبروی صندوق عهد بگذار. پردهٔ مدخل خیمه را بیاویز.

6 and hast put the altar of the burnt-offering before the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting,

مذبح قربانی سوختنی را مقابل مدخل خیمۀ ملاقات بگذار.

7 and hast put the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and hast put water there.

حوض را بین خیمهٔ ملاقات و مذبح قرار بده و آن را پر از آب کن.

8 'And thou hast set the court round about, and hast placed the covering of the gate of the court,

دیوار پرده‌ای حیاط اطراف خیمه را بر پا نما و پردهٔ مدخل حیاط را آویزان کن.

9 and hast taken the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle, and all that [is] in it, and hallowed it, and all its vessels, and it hath been holy;

«روغن مسح را بردار و خیمه و تمام لوازم و وسایل آن را مسح کرده، تقدیس نما تا مقدّس شوند.

10 and thou hast anointed the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its vessels, and sanctified the altar, and the altar hath been most holy;

سپس مذبح قربانی سوختنی و وسایل آن را مسح نموده، تقدیس کن و مذبح، جایگاه بسیار مقدّسی خواهد شد.

11 and thou hast anointed the laver and its base, and sanctified it.

بعد، حوض و پایه‌اش را مسح نموده، تقدیس کن.

12 'And thou hast brought near Aaron and his sons unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and hast bathed them with water;

«سپس هارون و پسرانش را کنار مدخل خیمهٔ ملاقات بیاور و آنها را با آب شستشو بده.

13 and thou hast clothed Aaron with the holy garments, and anointed him, and sanctified him, and he hath acted as priest to Me.

لباس مقدّس را بر هارون بپوشان و او را مسح کرده تقدیس نما تا در مقام کاهنی مرا خدمت کند.

14 'And his sons thou dost bring near, and hast clothed them with coats,

سپس پسرانش را بیاور و لباسهایشان را به ایشان بپوشان.

15 and anointed them as thou hast anointed their father, and they have acted as priests to Me, and their anointing hath been to be to them for a priesthood age-during, to their generations.'

آنها را نیز مانند پدرشان مسح کن تا در مقام کاهنی مرا خدمت کنند. این مسح به منزلهٔ انتخاب ابدی آنها و نسلهای ایشان است به مقام کاهنی.»

16 And Moses doth according to all that Jehovah hath commanded him; so he hath done.

موسی هر چه را که خداوند به او فرموده بود بجا آورد.

17 And it cometh to pass, in the first month, in the second year, in the first of the month, the tabernacle hath been raised up;

در نخستین روز ماه اول سال دوم، بعد از بیرون آمدن از مصر، خیمهٔ عبادت بر پا شد.

18 and Moses raiseth up the tabernacle, and setteth its sockets, and placeth its boards, and placeth its bars, and raiseth its pillars,

موسی خیمهٔ عبادت را به این ترتیب بر پا کرد: اول پایه‌های آن را گذاشت، سپس تخته‌های چوب‌بست را در پایه‌ها نهاده، پشت‌بندهای آنها را نصب کرد و ستونها را بر پا نمود.

19 and spreadeth the tent over the tabernacle, and putteth the covering of the tent upon it above, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

آنگاه، همان‌طور که خداوند فرموده بود، پوشش داخلی سقف را روی چوبها کشید و پوششهای خارجی را روی آن گسترانید.

20 And he taketh and putteth the testimony unto the ark, and setteth the staves on the ark, and putteth the mercy-seat on the ark above;

بعد، دو لوح سنگی را که ده فرمان خدا روی آنها نوشته بود در صندوق عهد گذاشت و چوبهای حامل را درون حلقه‌ها قرار داد و سرپوش صندوق را که «تخت رحمت» بود، روی آن نهاد.

21 and bringeth in the ark unto the tabernacle, and placeth the vail of the covering, and covereth over the ark of the testimony, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

آنگاه صندوق عهد را به درون خیمهٔ عبادت برد و پردهٔ مخصوص را جلو آن کشید، درست همان‌گونه که خداوند فرموده بود.

22 And he putteth the table in the tent of meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, at the outside of the vail,

سپس موسی میز را در سمت شمالی خیمهٔ ملاقات، بیرون پرده گذاشت،

23 and setteth in order upon it the arrangement of bread, before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

و همان‌طور که خداوند به او فرموده بود، نان حضور را روی میز در حضور خداوند قرار داد.

24 And he putteth the candlestick in the tent of meeting, over-against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward,

چراغدان را مقابل میز در سمت جنوبی خیمۀ ملاقات گذاشت

25 and causeth the lamps to go up before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

و مطابق دستور خداوند چراغهای چراغدان را در حضور خداوند روشن کرد.

26 And he setteth the golden altar in the tent of meeting, before the vail,

مذبح طلا را در خیمۀ ملاقات، بیرون پرده گذاشت

27 and maketh perfume on it — spice-perfume — as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

و مطابق دستور خداوند بر آن بخور معطر سوزاند.

28 And he setteth the covering of the opening to the tabernacle,

موسی پردهٔ مدخل خیمهٔ عبادت را آویزان کرد.

29 and the altar of the burnt-offering he hath set at the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and causeth the burnt-offering to go up upon it, and the present, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

مذبح قربانی سوختنی را مقابل مدخل خیمۀ ملاقات گذاشت و روی آن قربانی سوختنی و هدیه آردی تقدیم کرد، درست همان‌طور که خداوند فرموده بود.

30 And he putteth the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and putteth water there for washing,

حوض را بین خیمهٔ ملاقات و مذبح قرار داد و آن را پر از آب کرد.

31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons have washed their hands and their feet at the same;

موسی، هارون و پسرانش از آن آب برای شستن دست و پایشان استفاده می‌کردند.

32 in their going in unto the tent of meeting, and in their drawing near unto the altar, they wash, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

آنها هر وقت می‌خواستند به داخل خیمۀ ملاقات بروند و یا به مذبح نزدیک شوند، مطابق دستور خداوند خود را می‌شستند.

33 And he raiseth up the court round about the tabernacle, and about the altar, and placeth the covering of the gate of the court; and Moses completeth the work.

موسی دیوار پرده‌ای دور خیمه و مذبح را بر پا نموده پردهٔ مدخل حیاط را آویزان کرد. به این ترتیب او همهٔ کار را به پایان رسانید.

34 And the cloud covereth the tent of meeting, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle;

آنگاه ابر، خیمهٔ ملاقات را پوشانید و حضور پرجلال خداوند آن را پر ساخت.

35 and Moses hath not been able to go in unto the tent of meeting, for the cloud hath tabernacled on it, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle.

موسی نتوانست وارد خیمۀ ملاقات شود، زیرا ابر بر آن نشسته بود و حضور پرجلال خداوند خیمۀ عبادت را پر ساخته بود.

36 And in the going up of the cloud from off the tabernacle the sons of Israel journey in all their journeys;

از آن پس، هر وقت ابر از روی خیمه برمی‌خاست قوم اسرائیل کوچ می‌کردند و به راهنمایی آن به سفر ادامه می‌دادند.

37 and if the cloud go not up then they journey not, until the day of its going up:

اما تا وقتی که ابر روی خیمه باقی بود، قوم همچنان در جای خود می‌ماندند.

38 for the cloud of Jehovah [is] on the tabernacle by day, and fire is in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel in all their journeys.

در روز، ابر روی خیمهٔ عبادت قرار داشت و در شب، آتش در ابر پدیدار می‌شد و قوم می‌توانستند آن را ببینند. به این طریق، ابر خداوند بنی‌اسرائیل را در تمام سفرهایشان هدایت می‌کرد.
