Exodus 16

1 And they journey from Elim, and all the company of the sons of Israel come in unto the wilderness of Sin, which [is] between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month of their going out from the land of Egypt.

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ଏଲୀମଠାରୁ ଯାତ୍ରା କଲେ, ଆଉ ମିସର ଦେଶରୁ ପ୍ରସ୍ଥାନ କଲା ଉତ୍ତାରେ ଦ୍ୱିତୀୟ ମାସର ପଞ୍ଚଦଶ ଦିନରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ଏଲୀମ ଓ ସୀନୟର ମଧ୍ୟବର୍ତ୍ତୀ ସୀନ୍‍ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲେ।

2 And all the company of the sons of Israel murmur against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness;

ସେତେବେଳେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନଙ୍କ ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀ ମୋଶା ଓ ହାରୋଣଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରରେ ବଚସା କଲେ।

3 and the sons of Israel say unto them, 'Oh that we had died by the hand of Jehovah in the land of Egypt, in our sitting by the flesh-pot, in our eating bread to satiety — for ye have brought us out unto this wilderness to put all this assembly to death with hunger.'

ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ହାୟ, ହାୟ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯେତେବେଳେ ମାଂସ ହାଣ୍ଡି ପାଖରେ ବସି ତୃପ୍ତି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅନ୍ନ ଭୋଜନ କରୁଥିଲୁ, ସେତେବେଳେ ଯଦି ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ମିସର ଦେଶରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତରେ ମରିଥାʼନ୍ତୁ। ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଏହି ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀକୁ କ୍ଷୁଧାରେ ମାରିବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବାହାର କରି ଏହି ପ୍ରାନ୍ତରକୁ ଆଣିଅଛ।”

4 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Lo, I am raining to you bread from the heavens — and the people have gone out and gathered the matter of a day in its day — so that I try them whether they walk in My law, or not;

ତହୁଁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆକାଶରୁ ଖାଦ୍ୟଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ବୃଷ୍ଟି କରିବା; ପୁଣି, ଲୋକମାନେ ବାହାରକୁ ଯାଇ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ଦିନର ନିରୂପିତ ପରିମାଣାନୁସାରେ ଖାଦ୍ୟ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବେ; ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥାନୁସାରେ ଚାଲିବେ କି ନାହିଁ, ଆମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଏହି ପରୀକ୍ଷା ନେବା।

5 and it hath been on the sixth day, that they have prepared that which they bring in, and it hath been double above that which they gather day [by] day.'

ଷଷ୍ଠ ଦିନରେ ସେମାନେ ଯାହା ଆଣିବେ, ତାହା ରାନ୍ଧିଲେ ଦିନକୁ ଦିନ ଯାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରନ୍ତି, ତାହା ଦୁଇଗୁଣ ହେବ।”

6 And Moses saith — Aaron also — unto all the sons of Israel, 'Evening — and ye have known that Jehovah hath brought you out from the land of Egypt;

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ଓ ହାରୋଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣକୁ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମିସରଠାରୁ ବାହାର କରି ଆଣିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକାଳରେ ଜାଣିବ।

7 and morning — and ye have seen the honour of Jehovah, in His hearing your murmurings against Jehovah, and what [are] we, that ye murmur against us?'

ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ମହିମା ଦେଖିବ; ଯେହେତୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବଚସା ସେ ଶୁଣନ୍ତି; ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିଏ ଯେ, ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ବଚସା କର?”

8 And Moses saith, 'In Jehovah's giving to you in the evening flesh to eat, and bread in the morning to satiety — in Jehovah's hearing your murmurings, which ye are murmuring against Him, and what [are] we? your murmurings [are] not against us, but against Jehovah.'

ଆହୁରି ମୋଶା କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାକାଳରେ ଭୋଜନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମାଂସ ଦେବେ ଓ ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ତୃପ୍ତି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଅନ୍ନ ଦେବେ; କାରଣ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ କରିଥିବା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବଚସା ସେ ଶୁଣନ୍ତି। ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ କିଏ? ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବଚସା ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ନୁହେଁ ମାତ୍ର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧରେ ହୁଏ।”

9 And Moses saith unto Aaron, 'Say unto all the company of the sons of Israel, Come ye near before Jehovah, for He hath heard your murmurings;'

ଆଉ ମୋଶା ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀକୁ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଛାମୁକୁ ଆସ, ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ବଚସା ଶୁଣିଅଛନ୍ତି।’”

10 and it cometh to pass, when Aaron is speaking unto all the company of the sons of Israel, that they turn towards the wilderness, and lo, the honour of Jehovah is seen in the cloud.

ତହିଁରେ ହାରୋଣ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ସମସ୍ତ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀକୁ ଏହା କହିବା ସମୟରେ ସେମାନେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ଆଡ଼େ ଅନାନ୍ତେ, ଦେଖ, ମେଘସ୍ତମ୍ଭ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ପ୍ରତାପ ଦେଖାଗଲା।

11 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

ପୁଣି, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ,

12 'I have heard the murmurings of the sons of Israel; speak unto them, saying, Between the evenings ye eat flesh, and in the morning ye are satisfied [with] bread, and ye have known that I [am] Jehovah your God.'

“ଆମ୍ଭେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣର ବଚସା ଶୁଣିଅଛୁ; ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କୁହ, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ସମୟରେ ମାଂସ ଭୋଜନ କରିବ ଓ ପ୍ରଭାତରେ ଅନ୍ନରେ ପରିତୃପ୍ତ ହେବ; ତହିଁରେ ଆମ୍ଭେ ଯେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ପରମେଶ୍ୱର ଅଟୁ, ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିବ।’”

13 And it cometh to pass in the evening, that the quail cometh up, and covereth the camp, and in the morning there hath been the lying of dew round about the camp,

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟା ସମୟରେ ଭାଟୋଇ ପକ୍ଷୀଗଣ ଆସି ଛାଉଣି-ସ୍ଥାନ ଆଚ୍ଛାଦନ କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ଛାଉଣି ସ୍ଥାନର ଚାରିଆଡ଼େ କାକର ପଡ଼ିଲା।

14 and the lying of the dew goeth up, and lo, on the face of the wilderness a thin, bare thing, thin as hoar-frost on the earth.

ଏଉତ୍ତାରେ ପତିତ କାକର ଊର୍ଦ୍ଧ୍ୱଗତ ହେଲାରୁ ଭୂମିସ୍ଥିତ କାକର ପରି ଗୋଲାକାର କ୍ଷୁଦ୍ର ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ଉପରେ ପଡ଼ି ରହିଲା।

15 And the sons of Israel see, and say one unto another, 'What [is] it?' for they have not known what it [is]; and Moses saith unto them, 'It [is] the bread which Jehovah hath given to you for food.

ଆଉ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ-ସନ୍ତାନଗଣ ତାହା ଦେଖି ପରସ୍ପରକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଏହା କʼଣ ଅଟେ?” ଯେହେତୁ ତାହା କʼଣ ଥିଲା, ସେମାନେ ଜାଣିଲେ ନାହିଁ। ତହିଁରେ ମୋଶା କହିଲେ, “ଏହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଭୋଜନ ନିମନ୍ତେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଦତ୍ତ ଅନ୍ନ।

16 'This [is] the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Gather of it each according to his eating, an omer for a poll; and the number of your persons, take ye each for those in his tent.'

ଏ ବିଷୟରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଭୋଜନ ଶକ୍ତି ବୁଝି ତାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କର; ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତ୍ୟେକ ଜଣ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ତମ୍ବୁସ୍ଥିତ ପ୍ରାଣୀମାନଙ୍କ ସଂଖ୍ୟାନୁସାରେ ଏକ ଏକ ଜଣ ପାଇଁ ଏକ ଏକ ଓମର ପରିମାଣରେ ତାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କର।’”

17 And the sons of Israel do so, and they gather, he who is [gathering] much, and he who is [gathering] little;

ତହିଁରେ ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ସେହି ପ୍ରକାର କଲେ; କେହି ଅଧିକ ଓ କେହି ଅଳ୍ପ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କଲେ।

18 and they measure with an omer, and he who is [gathering] much hath nothing over, and he who is [gathering] little hath no lack, each according to his eating they have gathered.

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ସେମାନେ ଓମରରେ ତାହା ପରିମାଣ କରନ୍ତେ; ଯେ ଅଧିକ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିଥିଲା, ତାହାର ବଳକା ହେଲା ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି, ଯେ ଅଳ୍ପ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିଥିଲା, ତାହାର ଅଭାବ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ; ଏହି ପ୍ରକାରେ ସେମାନେ ଭୋଜନ ଶକ୍ତି ଅନୁସାରେ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ।

19 And Moses saith unto them, 'Let no man leave of it till morning;'

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ କେହି ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କିଛି ରଖ ନାହିଁ।”

20 and they have not hearkened unto Moses, and some of them do leave of it till morning, and it bringeth up worms and stinketh; and Moses is wroth with them.

ତଥାପି ସେମାନେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କର କଥା ନ ମାନି କେହି କେହି ପ୍ରଭାତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ କିଛି କିଛି ରଖିଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ତହିଁରେ ପୋକ ଜନ୍ମିଲା ଓ ଦୁର୍ଗନ୍ଧ ହେଲା। ଏଣୁ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କ ଉପରେ କ୍ରୋଧ କଲେ।

21 And they gather it morning by morning, each according to his eating; when the sun hath been warm, then it hath melted.

ଏହିରୂପେ ପ୍ରତିଦିନ ପ୍ରାତଃକାଳରେ ସେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ଭୋଜନ ଶକ୍ତି ଅନୁସାରେ ତାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ; ମାତ୍ର ପ୍ରଚଣ୍ଡ ଖରା ହୁଅନ୍ତେ, ତାହା ତରଳି ଗଲା।

22 And it cometh to pass on the sixth day, they have gathered a second bread, two omers for one, and all the princes of the company come in, and declare to Moses.

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ଷଷ୍ଠ ଦିନରେ ସେମାନେ ଦୁଇଗୁଣ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ପ୍ରତି ଜଣ ଦୁଇ ଦୁଇ ଓମର ଅନ୍ନ ସଂଗ୍ରହ କଲେ, ତହିଁରେ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ସମସ୍ତେ ଆସି ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଲେ।

23 And he saith unto them, 'It [is] that which Jehovah hath spoken [of]; a rest — a holy sabbath to Jehovah — [is] to-morrow; that which ye bake, bake; and that which ye boil, boil; and all that is over, let rest for yourselves in charge till the morning.'

ସେତେବେଳେ ମୋଶା ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତାହା କହିଅଛନ୍ତି, ଯଥା, ‘କାଲି ମହା ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଦିନ, ଅର୍ଥାତ୍‍, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଉଦ୍ଦେଶ୍ୟରେ ପବିତ୍ର ବିଶ୍ରାମ ହେବ; ଏହେତୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କର ଯାହା ଭାଜିବାର, ତାହା ଭାଜ; ଯାହା ପାକ କରିବାର, ତାହା ପାକ କର; ପୁଣି, ଯାହା କିଛି ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ରହେ, ତାହା ପ୍ରଭାତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରି ରଖ।’”

24 And they let it rest until the morning, as Moses hath commanded, and it hath not stank, and a worm hath not been in it.

ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନେ ମୋଶାଙ୍କର ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ ପ୍ରଭାତ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ତାହା ରଖିଲେ, ଆଉ ତାହା ଦୁର୍ଗନ୍ଧ ହେଲା ନାହିଁ, କି ତହିଁରେ କୌଣସି ପୋକ ଜନ୍ମିଲା ନାହିଁ।

25 And Moses saith, 'Eat it to-day, for to-day [is] a sabbath to Jehovah; to-day ye find it not in the field:

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା କହିଲେ, “ଆଜି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ତାହା ଭୋଜନ କର, ଯେହେତୁ ଆଜି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କର ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର; ଆଜି କ୍ଷେତରେ ତାହା ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।

26 six days ye do gather it, and in the seventh day — the sabbath — in it there is none.'

ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଛଅ ଦିନ ତାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବ, ମାତ୍ର ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନ ବିଶ୍ରାମବାର ଅଟେ, ତହିଁରେ କିଛି ମିଳିବ ନାହିଁ।”

27 And it cometh to pass on the seventh day, some of the people have gone out to gather, and have not found.

ତଥାପି ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନରେ ମଧ୍ୟ କେହି କେହି ତାହା ସଂଗ୍ରହ କରିବାକୁ ଗଲେ, ମାତ୍ର କିଛି ପାଇଲେ ନାହିଁ।

28 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'How long have ye refused to keep My commands, and My laws?

ତହିଁରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ମୋଶାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆମ୍ଭର ଆଜ୍ଞା ଓ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ପାଳନ କରିବାକୁ କେତେ କାଳ ଅସମ୍ମତ ଥିବ?

29 see, because Jehovah hath given to you the sabbath, therefore He is giving to you on the sixth day bread of two days; abide ye each [in] his place, no one doth go out from his place on the seventh day.'

ଦେଖ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ବିଶ୍ରାମ ଦିନ ଦେବା ସକାଶୁ ସେ (ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ) ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଷଷ୍ଠ ଦିନରେ ଦୁଇ ଦିନର ଖାଦ୍ୟ ଦିଅନ୍ତି; ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ପ୍ରତି ଜଣ ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନରେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ସ୍ଥାନରୁ ବାହାରକୁ ନ ଯାଇ ସ୍ୱ ସ୍ୱ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ଥାଅ।”

30 And the people rest on the seventh day,

ତେବେ ଲୋକମାନେ ସପ୍ତମ ଦିନରେ ବିଶ୍ରାମ କଲେ।

31 and the house of Israel call its name Manna, and it [is] as coriander seed, white; and its taste [is] as a cake with honey.

ପୁଣି, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ବଂଶ ସେହି ଖାଦ୍ୟର ନାମ “ମାନ୍ନା” ଦେଲେ; ତାହା ଧନିଆ ପରି ଶୁକ୍ଳବର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଓ ତାହାର ଆସ୍ୱାଦ ମଧୁ ମିଶ୍ରିତ ରୁଟି ତୁଲ୍ୟ ଥିଲା।

32 And Moses saith, 'This [is] the thing which Jehovah hath commanded: Fill the omer with it, for a charge for your generations, so that they see the bread which I have caused you to eat in the wilderness, in My bringing you out from the land of Egypt.'

ଏଥିଉତ୍ତାରେ ମୋଶା କହିଲେ, “ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ‘ସେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ମିସର ଦେଶଠାରୁ ଆଣିବା ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରାନ୍ତର ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଯେଉଁ ଅନ୍ନ ଭୋଜନ କରାଇଲେ, ତାହା ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୁରୁଷ-ପରମ୍ପରା ଦେଖନ୍ତି, ଏହେତୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ନିମନ୍ତେ ଏକ ଓମର ପରିମାଣ ମାନ୍ନା ରଖ।’”

33 And Moses saith unto Aaron, 'Take one pot, and put there the fulness of the omer of manna, and let it rest before Jehovah, for a charge for your generations;'

ସେତେବେଳେ ମୋଶା ହାରୋଣଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଗୋଟିଏ ପାତ୍ର ନେଇ ଏକ ଓମର ପରିମାଣ ମାନ୍ନା ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ କରି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ସମ୍ମୁଖରେ ରଖ; ତାହା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପୁରୁଷ-ପରମ୍ପରା ନିମନ୍ତେ ରଖାଯିବ।”

34 as Jehovah hath given commandment unto Moses, so doth Aaron let it rest before the Testimony, for a charge.

ତହୁଁ ହାରୋଣ ମୋଶାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଉକ୍ତ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ଆଜ୍ଞାନୁସାରେ ସାକ୍ଷ୍ୟ-ସିନ୍ଦୁକ ନିକଟରେ ରଖାଯିବା ନିମିତ୍ତ ତାହା ସଞ୍ଚୟ କରି ରଖିଲେ।

35 And the sons of Israel have eaten the manna forty years, until their coming in unto the land to be inhabited; the manna they have eaten till their coming in unto the extremity of the land of Canaan.

ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ସନ୍ତାନମାନେ ବସତି ଦେଶରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ନ ହେବା ଯାଏ ଚାଳିଶ ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେହି ମାନ୍ନା ଭୋଜନ କଲେ ଓ କିଣାନ ଦେଶର ସୀମାରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ନ ହେବା ଯାଏ ସେମାନେ ତାହା ଖାଇଲେ।

36 and the omer is a tenth of the ephah.

ଏକ ଓମର ଐଫାର ଦଶମାଂଶ।
