Exodus 10
1 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Go in unto Pharaoh, for I have declared hard his heart, and the heart of his servants, so that I set these My signs in their midst,
૧પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તું ફારુન પાસે જા. મેં તેને અને તેના સરદારોને એટલા માટે હઠાગ્રહી બનાવ્યા છે કે જેથી હું મારું ચમત્કારિક સામર્થ્ય તેઓની સમક્ષ પ્રગટ કરું.
2 and so that thou recountest in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, that which I have done in Egypt, and My signs which I have set among them, and ye have known that I [am] Jehovah.'
૨અને તું તારા પુત્રને અને પૌત્રોને કહી શકે કે મેં આ મિસરના લોકોને કેવી સખત શિક્ષા કરી હતી, અને મેં તેઓને કેવા ચમત્કાર બતાવ્યા હતા. આથી તમને ખબર પડશે કે હું જ યહોવાહ છું.”
3 And Moses cometh in — Aaron also — unto Pharaoh, and they say unto him, 'Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Until when hast thou refused to be humbled at My presence? send My people away, and they serve Me,
૩મૂસા અને હારુન ફારુન પાસે ગયા અને કહ્યું, “હિબ્રૂઓના યહોવાહ કહે છે; ‘તું કયાં સુધી મારી આજ્ઞા ઉથાપ્યા કરીશ? મારા લોકોને મારું ભજન કરવા જવા દે.’
4 for if thou art refusing to send My people away, lo, I am bringing in to-morrow the locust into thy border,
૪સાંભળી લે, જો તું મારા લોકોને મારું ભજન ઉપાસના કરવા જવા દેવાની ના પાડશે તો ખાતરી રાખજે આવતી કાલે હું તારા દેશમાં તીડોનો ઉપદ્રવ મોકલીશ.
5 and it hath covered the eye of the land, and none is able to see the land, and it hath eaten the remnant of that which is escaped, which is left to you from the hail, and it hath eaten every tree which is springing for you out of the field;
૫એ તીડો જમીન પર એવાં છવાઈ જશે કે જમીન દેખાશે જ નહિ. અને કરાની વર્ષા પછી તારી પાસે જે કાંઈ બચેલું છે, તે તેઓ ખાઈ જશે; તેઓ તારા ખેતરમાંના તમામે છોડ ખાઈ જશે.
6 and they have filled thy houses, and the houses of all thy servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, which neither thy fathers nor thy father's fathers have seen, since the day of their being on the ground unto this day,' — and he turneth and goeth out from Pharaoh.
૬તેઓ તારા મહેલોને તથા તારા અમલદારોના અને તમામ મિસરવાસીઓનાં ઘરોને ભરી દેશે. તારા પિતૃઓએ મિસરમાં વસવાટ શરૂ કર્યો ત્યારથી આજસુધી જોયાં ના હોય એટલાં બધાં જથ્થાબંધ તીડો છવાઈ જશે.” પછી મૂસા ફારુન પાસેથી ચાલ્યો ગયો.
7 And the servants of Pharaoh say unto him, 'Until when doth this [one] become a snare to us? send the men away, and they serve Jehovah their God; knowest thou not yet that Egypt hath perished?'
૭ફારુનના સરદારોએ તેને કહ્યું, “અમે ક્યાં સુધી આ લોકો તરફથી ત્રાસ ભોગવતા રહીશું? એ લોકોને તેઓના ઈશ્વર યહોવાહ નું ભજન કરવા જવા દે. શું તું નથી જાણતો કે હવે મિસરનો સર્વનાશ થવા બેઠો છે?”
8 And Moses is brought back — Aaron also — unto Pharaoh, and he saith unto them, 'Go, serve Jehovah your God; — who and who [are] those going?'
૮એટલે મૂસાને અને હારુનને ફારુન પાસે બોલાવવામાં આવ્યા. ફારુને તેઓને કહ્યું, “ભલે, તમે જાઓ અને તમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહનું ભજન કરો. પણ મને જણાવો કે તમે કોણ કોણ જશો?”
9 And Moses saith, 'With our young ones, and with our aged ones, we go, with our sons, and with our daughters, with our flock, and our herd, we go, for we have a festival to Jehovah.'
૯મૂસાએ જવાબ આપ્યો, “અમે અમારા યુવાનોને, વયસ્કોને, દીકરાદીકરીઓને, ઘેટાંબકરાંઓને તથા અન્ય જાનવરોને લઈ જઈશું. અમે બધાં જ જઈશું. કારણ એ અમારા માટે અમારા યહોવાહનું પર્વ છે.”
10 And he saith unto them, 'Be it so, Jehovah [be] with you when I send you and your infants away; see — for evil [is] before your faces;
૧૦ફારુને તેઓને કહ્યું, “જેમ હું તમને અને તમારાં સર્વ બાળકોને મિસરમાંથી જવા દઈશ. ઈશ્વર તમારી સાથે રહો. જો કે મને તો એવું લાગે છે કે તમે કપટ વિચારી રહ્યા છો.
11 not so! go now, ye who [are] men, and serve Jehovah, for that ye are seeking;' and [one] casteth them out from the presence of Pharaoh.
૧૧ના, બધાં જ નહિ, પણ તમારામાંથી માત્ર પુખ્ત પુરુષો જ યહોવાહનું ભજન કરવા જાઓ. બાકીનાં જઈ શકશે નહિ.” પછી ફારુને મૂસા અને હારુનને ત્યાંથી કાઢી મૂક્યા.
12 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Stretch out thy hand against the land of Egypt for the locust, and it goeth up against the land of Egypt, and doth eat every herb of the land — all that the hail hath left.'
૧૨પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “મિસર દેશ પર તારો હાથ ઊંચો કર એટલે તમામ ભૂમિ પર તીડો છવાઈ જશે. એ તીડો કરાથી બચી ગયેલાં તમામ વૃક્ષો અને છોડવાઓને અને અન્ય વનસ્પતિને ખાઈ જશે.”
13 And Moses stretcheth out his rod against the land of Egypt, and Jehovah hath led an east wind over the land all that day, and all the night; the morning hath been, and the east wind hath lifted up the locust.
૧૩મૂસાએ પોતાની લાકડીને મિસર દેશ પર ઊંચી કરી. યહોવાહે તે આખો દિવસ અને આખી રાત દરમ્યાન પૂર્વ તરફથી પવનનો મારો ચલાવ્યો અને સવાર થતાં સુધીમાં તો પૂર્વથી આવતો તોફાની પવન તીડોનાં ટોળેટોળાં લઈ આવ્યો.
14 And the locust goeth up against all the land of Egypt, and resteth in all the border of Egypt — very grievous: before it there hath not been such a locust as it, and after it there is none such;
૧૪સમગ્ર મિસર પર તીડો પથરાઈ ગયાં અને આખા દેશની ભૂમિ પર બેસી ગયાં. આવાં તીડોનાં ટોળાં અગાઉ કદી આવ્યાં નહોતાં અને ભવિષ્યમાં કદાપિ આવશે પણ નહિ.
15 and it covereth the eye of all the land, and the land is darkened; and it eateth every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail hath left, and there hath not been left any green thing in the trees, or in the herb of the field, in all the land of Egypt.'
૧૫ઢગલાબંધ તીડો ભૂમિ પર છવાઈ ગયાં. તેઓથી ભૂમિ ઢંકાઈ ગઈ. કરાથી સમગ્ર મિસર દેશના જે વૃક્ષો અને વનસ્પતિ બચી ગયાં હતાં તેના પરનાં બધાં જ ફળ તીડો ખાઈ ગયાં. સમગ્ર મિસર દેશનાં લીલાં વૃક્ષો અને અન્ય વનસ્પતિ નામશેષ થઈ ગયાં. ખેતરમાંનાં વૃક્ષો કે વનસ્પતિ પર એકે પાંદડું રહ્યું નહિ.
16 And Pharaoh hasteth to call for Moses and for Aaron, and saith, 'I have sinned against Jehovah your God, and against you,
૧૬પછી ફારુને ઉતાવળ કરીને મૂસા અને હારુનને બોલાવીને કહ્યું, “મેં તમારા ઈશ્વર પ્રભુ અને તમારી વિરુદ્ધ પાપ કર્યું છે.
17 and now, bear with, I pray you, my sin, only this time, and make ye supplication to Jehovah your God, that He turn aside from off me only this death.'
૧૭આટલી વખત આ મારો અપરાધ માફ કરો અને તમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહને વિનંતી કરો તે મને તીડોના ત્રાસમાંથી અને મોત જેવી હાલતમાંથી બચાવે.
18 And he goeth out from Pharaoh, and maketh supplication unto Jehovah,
૧૮મૂસા ફારુનની પાસેથી વિદાય થયો. અને તેણે યહોવાહને પ્રાર્થના કરી.
19 and Jehovah turneth a very strong sea wind, and it lifteth up the locust, and bloweth it into the Red Sea — there hath not been left one locust in all the border of Egypt;
૧૯એટલે યહોવાહે પવનની દિશા બદલી નાખી; અને પશ્ચિમમાંથી ભારે તોફાની પવન ફુંકાવા લાગ્યો. એ પવને તીડોને ઉડાડીને રાતા સમુદ્રમાં નાખી દીધાં. સમગ્ર મિસરમાં એક પણ તીડ રહ્યું નહિ.
20 and Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away.
૨૦પરંતુ યહોવાહે ફારુનને વળી પાછો હઠાગ્રહી બનાવ્યો. અને તેણે ઇઝરાયલીઓને જવા ન દીધા.
21 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Stretch out thy hand towards the heavens, and there is darkness over the land of Egypt, and the darkness is felt.'
૨૧પછી યહોવાહે મૂસાને કહ્યું, “તારા હાથ આકાશ તરફ ઊંચા કર. મિસર દેશમાં ગાઢ અંધકાર વ્યાપી જશે. માણસોએ અંધારામાં અટવાવું પડશે.”
22 And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the heavens, and there is darkness — thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;
૨૨એટલે મૂસાએ આકાશ તરફ હાથ ઊંચો કર્યો. ત્યારે પ્રગાઢ અંધકારને લીધે મિસર દેશમાં ઘોર અંધારું છવાઈ ગયું. મિસરમાં ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી અંધકાર છવાયેલો રહ્યો.
23 they have not seen one another, and none hath risen from his place three days; and to all the sons of Israel there hath been light in their dwellings.'
૨૩કોઈ પણ વ્યક્તિ બીજા કોઈને જોઈ શકતી ન હતી. અને ત્રણ દિવસ સુધી કોઈ પોતાની જગ્યાએથી ઊઠી શક્યું નહિ. પરંતુ આશ્ચર્યની વાત એ હતી કે જ્યાં ઇઝરાયલીઓના વસવાટ હતો તે સર્વ ઘરોમાં તો પ્રકાશ ઝગમગી રહ્યો હતો.
24 And Pharaoh calleth unto Moses and saith, 'Go ye, serve Jehovah, only your flock and your herd are stayed, your infants also go with you;'
૨૪ફારુને ફરીથી મૂસાને બોલાવ્યો અને કહ્યું, “તમે લોકો જાઓ, યહોવાહનું ભજન કરો. તમે તમારી સાથે તમારાં બાળકોને પણ લઈ જઈ શકો છો. ફક્ત તમારાં ઘેટાંબકરાં અને અન્ય જાનવરોને અહીં રહેવા દેજો.”
25 and Moses saith, 'Thou also dost give in our hand sacrifices and burnt-offerings, and we have prepared for Jehovah our God;
૨૫પણ મૂસાએ કહ્યું, “અમે અમારાં ઘેટાંબકરાં સહિત જાનવરોને અમારી સાથે લઈ જઈશું; એટલું જ નહિ પરંતુ જ્યારે અમે લોકો જઈશું ત્યારે તારે અમને દહનીયાર્પણો માટેનાં અર્પણો પણ આપવાં પડશે. અને અમે લોકો એ અર્પણો ઈશ્વર યહોવાહને ચઢાવીશું.
26 and also our cattle doth go with us, there is not left a hoof, for from it we do take to serve Jehovah our God; and we — we know not how we do serve Jehovah till our going thither.'
૨૬અમે લોકો અમારાં જાનવરો અમારી સાથે અમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહનું ભજન કરવા માટે લઈ જઈશું. ખરીવાળું એક પણ પશુ અહીં રહેશે નહિ. અમારાં પશુઓમાંથી અમે અમારા ઈશ્વર યહોવાહને યજ્ઞ ચઢાવવાના છીએ અને જ્યાં સુધી અમે નિયત જગ્યાએ પહોંચીએ નહિ ત્યાં સુધી અમને કેવી રીતે ખબર પડે કે અમારે યહોવાહને શું અર્પણ કરવાનું છે?” તેથી બધાં જ જાનવરોને અમે અમારી સાથે લઈ જઈશું.”
27 And Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not been willing to send them away;
૨૭યહોવાહે વળી પાછાં ફારુનને હઠાગ્રહી બનાવ્યો, તેથી ફારુને તેઓને જવા દેવા માટે ના પાડી દીધી.
28 and Pharaoh saith to him, 'Go from me, take heed to thyself, add not to see my face, for in the day thou seest my face thou diest;'
૨૮અને ફારુને મૂસાને કહ્યું, “મારી પાસેથી જતો રહે, મારું મુખ હવે પછી ફરીથી તું જોવા આવીશ નહિ. એમ છતાં જો તું મને મળવા આવીશ તો તે દિવસે તું માર્યો જશે.”
29 and Moses saith, 'Rightly hast thou spoken, I add not any more to see thy face.'
૨૯પછી મૂસાએ ફારુનને કહ્યું, “તું જે કહે છે તે સાચું છે. હું ફરીથી કદી તને રૂબરૂ મળવા આવવાનો નથી અને તારું મુખ જોવાનો નથી.”
