Ephesians 6
1 The children! obey your parents in the Lord, for this is righteous;
Ihr Kinder, seid euren Eltern untertan im Herrn, denn so gehört es sich.
2 honour thy father and mother,
"Du sollst deinen Vater und deine Mutter ehren". Dies ist das erste der Gebote, dem eine Verheißung beigegeben ist:
3 which is the first command with a promise, 'That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live a long time upon the land.'
"damit es dir wohlergehe und du lange lebest auf Erden".
4 And the fathers! provoke not your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.
Ihr Väter aber reizt eure Kinder nicht zum Zorne; erzieht sie in der Zucht und Ermahnung des Herrn.
5 The servants! obey the masters according to the flesh with fear and trembling, in the simplicity of your heart, as to the Christ;
Ihr Sklaven, gehorcht euren Herrn auf Erden mit Furcht und Zittern und in der Lauterkeit eures Herzens, wie Christo.
6 not with eye-service as men-pleasers, but as servants of the Christ, doing the will of God out of soul,
Seid nicht Augendiener, die nur den Menschen zu gefallen suchen. Seid vielmehr Sklaven Christi, die den Willen Gottes aus ganzem Herzen tun.
7 with good-will serving, as to the Lord, and not to men,
Dient willig, als gälte es dem Herrn und nicht dem Menschen.
8 having known that whatever good thing each one may do, this he shall receive from the Lord, whether servant or freeman.
Ihr wißt ja, daß jeder für das Gute, das er tut, vom Herrn seinen Lohn empfängt, sei er nun Sklave oder Freier.
9 And the masters! the same things do ye unto them, letting threatening alone, having known that also your Master is in the heavens, and acceptance of persons is not with him.
Doch auch ihr, Herren, handelt ihnen gegenüber ebenso. Lasset das Schelten! Ihr wißt ja: Geradeso wie sie habt ihr im Himmel einen Herrn; bei diesem gibt es kein Ansehen der Person.
10 As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might;
Im übrigen: Erstarkt im Herrn und in seiner mächtigen Kraft.
11 put on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil,
Zieht Gottes volle Waffenrüstung an, damit ihr den Ränken des Teufels widerstehen könnt!
12 because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places; (aiōn g165)
Denn unser Kampf geht nicht gegen Fleisch und Blut, vielmehr gegen die Mächte und die Kräfte, die Weltbeherrscher dieser Finsternis, die bösen Geister in den Himmelshöhen. (aiōn g165)
13 because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done — to stand.
So legt denn die volle Waffenrüstung Gottes an, damit ihr am bösen Tage widerstehen könnt und nach erkämpftem vollem Siege das Feld behauptet.
14 Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about in truth, and having put on the breastplate of the righteousness,
So steht da, umgürtet an den Lenden mit der Wahrheit, bekleidet mit dem Panzer der Gerechtigkeit,
15 and having the feet shod in the preparation of the good-news of the peace;
beschuht an euren Füßen mit der Bereitschaft für das Evangelium des Friedens.
16 above all, having taken up the shield of the faith, in which ye shall be able all the fiery darts of the evil one to quench,
Zu all dem nehmt noch den Schild des Glaubens, mit dem ihr alle feurigen Geschosse des Bösen löschen könnt.
17 and the helmet of the salvation receive, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the saying of God,
Ergreift sodann den Helm zum Schutz und auch das Schwert des Geistes, das heißt das Wort Gottes.
18 through all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the Spirit, and in regard to this same, watching in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints —
Mit lauter Bitten und mit Flehen betet allezeit im Geiste; wacht noch dazu in anhaltendem Gebete für alle Heiligen,
19 and in behalf of me, that to me may be given a word in the opening of my mouth, in freedom, to make known the secret of the good news,
und auch für mich, damit mir das rechte Wort verliehen werde, wenn ich meinen Mund auftun soll, um freimütig das Geheimnis des Evangeliums zu verkünden,
20 for which I am an ambassador in a chain, that in it I may speak freely — as it behoveth me to speak.
dessen Botschafter ich trotz der Fesseln bin, damit ich freimütig darüber rede, wie die Pflicht mir es gebietet.
21 And that ye may know — ye also — the things concerning me — what I do, all things make known to you shall Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful ministrant in the Lord,
Doch sollt auch ihr erfahren, wie meine Lage ist, wie es mir geht. Dies alles wird euch Tychikus erzählen, der liebe Bruder und treue Diener im Herrn.
22 whom I did send unto you for this very thing, that ye might know the things concerning us, and that he might comfort your hearts.
Gerade deshalb sende ich ihn zu euch, damit ihr erfahret, wie es um uns steht, und damit er eure Herzen tröste.
23 Peace to the brethren, and love, with faith, from God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ!
Den Brüdern werde Friede zuteil und Liebe samt dem Glauben von Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!
24 The grace with all those loving our Lord Jesus Christ — undecayingly! Amen.
Die Gnade sei mit allen, die unseren Herrn Jesus Christus in seiner Unvergänglichkeit lieben!
