< Ephesians 5 >
1 Become, then, followers of God, as children beloved,
To pongah Sithaw mah palung ih caa ah na oh o baktih toengah, Sithaw hnukbang kami ah om oh;
2 and walk in love, as also the Christ did love us, and did give himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odour of a sweet smell,
Kri mah aicae ang palung moe, Sithaw khaeah hmuihoih ah oh hanah, angmah hoi angmah aicae angbawnhaih ah angpaek boeh, to pongah nangcae doeh amlunghaih hoiah khosah oh.
3 and whoredom, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
Kaciim kami ah na oh o boeh pongah, zae sakhaih, ciimcai ai hmuen hoi kamthlai hmoek koehhaihnawk nangcae thungah oh han om ai boeh;
4 also filthiness, and foolish talking, or jesting, — the things not fit — but rather thanksgiving;
amhnonghaih, kamthu lok apaehhaih hoi tamhnui lok sakhaihnawk loe kamsoem hmuen na ai ni, to baktih hmuen sak pongah loe kawnhaih lok to thui o lat ah.
5 for this ye know, that every whoremonger, or unclean, or covetous person, who is an idolater, hath no inheritance in the reign of the Christ and God.
Nongpa nongpata zaehaih sah kami, ciimcai ai kami, kamthlai hmoek koeh kami, krang bok kaminawk loe Kri hoi Sithaw mah siangpahrang ah uk ih prae to toep o thai mak ai, tito na panoek o.
6 Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,
Mi kawbaktih mah doeh avang ai lok hoiah na ling o hmah nasoe: to baktih hmuen pongah ni lok tahngai ai kaminawk nuiah Sithaw palungphuihaih to phak.
7 become not, then, partakers with them,
To pongah nangcae loe nihcae hoi angkom o hmah.
8 for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,
Nangcae loe canghnii ah vinghaih thungah na oh o, toe vaihi loe Angraeng pongah aanghaih ah na oh o boeh: to pongah aanghaih caanawk baktiah khosah oh:
9 for the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,
(hoihhaih, toenghaih hoi loktangnawk boih loe Muithla ih thingthai ah ni oh; )
10 proving what is well-pleasing to the Lord,
Angraeng mah talawk thai koi hmuen to pakrong oh.
11 and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of the darkness and rather even convict,
Athaih kaom ai kaving toksakhaih hoiah angkom o hmah, toe to baktih kaving toksakhaih to amtueng o sak ah.
12 for the things in secret done by them it is a shame even to speak of,
Nihcae mah tamquta hoi sak o ih hmuennawk to lok hoi thuih han ih mataeng doeh azat thoh.
13 and all the things reproved by the light are manifested, for everything that is manifested is light;
Toe to tiah kamtueng hmuennawk loe kawbaktih hmuen maw, tito aanghaih mah ni amtuengsak: hmuennawk boih amtuengsakkung loe aanghaih hae ni.
14 wherefore he saith, 'Arouse thyself, thou who art sleeping, and arise out of the dead, and the Christ shall shine upon thee.'
Anih mah, Aw iip kami nang anglawt laih, duekhaih thung hoi angthawk ah, to tih nahaeloe Kri mah aanghaih to na paek tih, tiah thuih.
15 See, then, how exactly ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise,
To pongah acoehaih hoiah khosah oh, kamthu baktiah om ai ah, palungha baktiah om oh,
16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil;
aninawk loe hoih ai boeh pongah, atue kahoih to paawt ah.
17 because of this become not fools, but — understanding what [is] the will of the Lord,
To pongah kamthu baktiah om o hmah, Angraeng koehhaih panoek kami ah om oh.
18 and be not drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be filled in the Spirit,
Mu paqui o hmah, to tiah ohhaih mah sethaih to tacawtsak, to pongah Muithla hoi koi oh;
19 speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,
maeto hoi maeto Saam laa, pakoehhaih laa hoi Muithla laa to sah oh, palung thung hoi Angraeng khaeah laa to sah oh;
20 giving thanks always for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to the God and Father;
hmuen boih ah aicae Angraeng Jesu Kri ih ahmin hoiah Pa Sithaw khaeah anghoehaih lawkthui o toepsoep ah;
21 subjecting yourselves to one another in the fear of God.
Sithaw zithaih hoiah maeto hoi maeto tlim ah khosah oh.
22 The wives! to your own husbands subject yourselves, as to the Lord,
Zunawk, Angraeng khaeah nang paek o baktih toengah, na savanawk khaeah angpaek oh.
23 because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Christ [is] head of the assembly, and he is saviour of the body,
Kri loe kricaabu lu ah oh baktih toengah, sava loe zu ih lu ah oh: Anih loe takpum pahlongkung ah oh.
24 but even as the assembly is subject to Christ, so also [are] the wives to their own husbands in everything.
Kricaabu mah Kri khaeah angpaek baktih toengah, zunawk mah doeh hmuen boih ah angmacae sava khaeah angpaek o nasoe.
25 The husbands! love your own wives, as also the Christ did love the assembly, and did give himself for it,
Kri mah kricaabu palung moe, hinghaih paek baktih toengah, savanawk, na zu to palung oh;
26 that he might sanctify it, having cleansed [it] with the bathing of the water in the saying,
Anih mah kricaabu to tui hoiah pasae ueloe, lok hoiah ciimsak tih,
27 that he might present it to himself the assembly in glory, not having spot or wrinkle, or any of such things, but that it may be holy and unblemished;
coek koi kaom ai, nganhin angcu ai, to tiah coek han koi tidoeh kaom ai, lensawk kricaabu maeto ah angmah khaeah paek thai hanah, coek koi kaom ai, ciimcai kricabu ah oh han angaih.
28 so ought the husbands to love their own wives as their own bodies: he who is loving his own wife — himself he doth love;
To pongah nongpanawk mah a zunawk to angmacae ih takpum baktih toengah palung han oh. Azu palung kami loe angmah hoi angmah amlung kami ah oh.
29 for no one ever his own flesh did hate, but doth nourish and cherish it, as also the Lord — the assembly,
Mi kawbaktih mah doeh angmah ih takpum to hnuma vai ai; Angraeng mah kricaabu khetzawn baktih toengah ni, a takpum to pacah moe, a khetzawn.
30 because members we are of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones;
Aicae loe angmah ih takpum, angan, ahuh thungah kathum kami ah ni a oh o.
31 'for this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they shall be — the two — for one flesh;'
Hae pongah nongpa mah amno hoi ampa to caehtaak ueloe, a zu hoi nawnto om tih, to naah nihnik loe takpum maeto ah ni om hoi tih boeh.
32 this secret is great, and I speak in regard to Christ and to the assembly;
Hae loe kalen loktamqu ah oh: toe kai loe, Kri hoi kricaabu kawng ni ka thuih.
33 but ye also, every one in particular — let each his own wife so love as himself, and the wife — that she may reverence the husband.
Toe nangmacae takpum na palung o baktih toengah, na zunawk to palung o toeng ah; zu mah doeh sava to khingya han oh.
