< Deuteronomy 4 >
1 'And now, Israel, hearken unto the statutes, and unto the judgments which I am teaching you to do, so that ye live, and have gone in, and possessed the land which Jehovah God of your fathers is giving to you.
And now O Israel listen to the statutes and to the judgments which I [am] about to teach you to observe so that you may live and you will go and you will take possession of the land which Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your [is] about to give to you.
2 Ye do not add to the word which I am commanding you, nor diminish from it, to keep the commands of Jehovah your God which I am commanding you.
Not you must add to the word which I [am] about to command you and not you must diminish from it to keep [the] commandments of Yahweh God your which I [am] about to command you.
3 'Your eyes are seeing that which Jehovah hath done in Baal-Peor, for every man who hath gone after Baal-Peor, Jehovah thy God hath destroyed him from thy midst;
Own eyes your [are] the [ones which] saw [that] which he did Yahweh at Baal Peor for every person who he walked after Baal Peor he destroyed him Yahweh God your from midst your.
4 and ye who are cleaving to Jehovah your God, [are] alive, all of you, to-day.
And you who were clinging on Yahweh God your [are] alive all of you this day.
5 'See, I have taught you statutes and judgments, as Jehovah my God hath commanded me — to do so, in the midst of the land whither ye are going in to possess it;
See - I have taught you statutes and judgments just as he commanded me Yahweh God my to do thus in [the] midst of the land where you [are] about to go there towards to take possession of it.
6 and ye have kept and done [them] (for it [is] your wisdom and your understanding) before the eyes of the peoples who hear all these statutes, and they have said, Only, a people wise and understanding [is] this great nation.
And you will take care and you will observe [them] for that [will be] wisdom your and understanding your to [the] eyes of the peoples which they will hear! all the statutes these and they will say certainly [is] a people wise and understanding the nation great this.
7 'For which [is] the great nation that hath God near unto it, as Jehovah our God, in all we have called unto him?
For who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it a god near to it like Yahweh God our in all calling we to him.
8 and which [is] the great nation which hath righteous statutes and judgments according to all this law which I am setting before you to-day?
And who? [is] a nation great which [belongs] to it statutes and judgments righteous like all the law this which I [am] setting before you this day.
9 'Only, take heed to thyself, and watch thy soul exceedingly, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they turn aside from thy heart, all days of thy life; and thou hast made them known to thy sons, and to thy sons' sons.
Only take heed to yourself and guard self your exceedingly lest you should forget the things which they have seen eyes your and lest they should depart from heart your all [the] days of life your and you will make known them to children your and to [the] children of children your.
10 'The day when thou hast stood before Jehovah thy God in Horeb — in Jehovah's saying unto me, Assemble to Me the people, and I cause them to hear My words, so that they learn to fear Me all the days that they are alive on the ground, and their sons they teach; —
[the] day When you stood before Yahweh God your at Horeb when said Yahweh to me assemble to me the people so I may make hear them words my that they will learn! to fear me all the days which they [will be] alive on the land and children their they will teach!
11 and ye draw near and stand under the mountain, and the mountain is burning with fire unto the heart of the heavens — darkness, cloud, yea, thick darkness:
And you drew near! and you stood! under the mountain and the mountain [was] burning with fire to [the] heart of the heavens darkness cloud and thick darkness.
12 'And Jehovah speaketh unto you out of the midst of the fire; a voice of words ye are hearing and a similitude ye are not seeing, only a voice;
And he spoke Yahweh to you from [the] middle of the fire a sound of words you [were] hearing and a form not you [were] seeing except a voice.
13 and He declareth to you His covenant, which He hath commanded you to do, the Ten Matters, and He writeth them upon two tables of stone.
And he declared to you covenant his which he commanded you to observe [the] ten the words and he inscribed them on two tablets of stone.
14 'And me hath Jehovah commanded at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, for your doing them in the land whither ye are passing over to possess it;
And me he commanded Yahweh at the time that to teach you statutes and judgments to observe you them in the land where you [are] about to pass over there towards to take possession of it.
15 and ye have been very watchful of your souls, for ye have not seen any similitude in the day of Jehovah's speaking unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire,
And you will take heed exceedingly to selves your for not you saw any form on [the] day [when] he spoke Yahweh to you at Horeb from [the] middle of the fire.
16 lest ye do corruptly, and have made to you a graven image, a similitude of any figure, a form of male or female —
Lest you should act corruptly! and you will make for yourselves an image of a form of any figure a likeness of a male or a female.
17 a form of any beast which [is] in the earth — a form of any winged bird which flieth in the heavens —
A likeness of any animal which [is] on the earth a likeness of any bird of wing which it flies in the heavens.
18 a form of any creeping thing on the ground — a form of any fish which [is] in the waters under the earth;
A likeness of any creeping [thing] on the ground a likeness of any fish which [is] in the waters from under to the earth.
19 'And lest thou lift up thine eyes towards the heavens, and hast seen the sun, and the moon, and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and thou hast been forced, and hast bowed thyself to them, and served them, which Jehovah thy God hath apportioned to all the peoples under the whole heavens.
And lest you should lift up eyes your the heavens towards and you will see the sun and the moon and the stars all [the] host of the heavens and you will be drawn aside and you will bow down to them and you will serve them which he has assigned Yahweh God your them to all the peoples under all the heavens.
20 'And you hath Jehovah taken, and He is bringing you out from the iron furnace, from Egypt, to be to Him for a people — an inheritance, as [at] this day.
And you he took Yahweh and he brought out you from [the] furnace of iron from Egypt to become for him a people of inheritance as the day this.
21 'And Jehovah hath shewed himself wroth with me because of your words, and sweareth to my not passing over the Jordan, and to my not going in unto the good land which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee — an inheritance;
And Yahweh he was angry with me on words your and he swore to not to pass over I the Jordan and to not to go into the land good which Yahweh God your [is] about to give to you an inheritance.
22 for I am dying in this land; I am not passing over the Jordan, and ye are passing over, and have possessed this good land.
For I [am] about to die in the land this not I [am] about to pass over the Jordan and you [are] about to pass over and you will take possession of the land good this.
23 'Take heed to yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of Jehovah your God, which He hath made with you, and have made to yourselves a graven image, a similitude of anything [concerning] which Jehovah thy God hath charged thee:
Take heed to yourselves lest you should forget [the] covenant of Yahweh God your which he has made with you and you will make for yourselves an image a form of anything which he commanded you Yahweh God your.
24 for Jehovah thy God is a fire consuming — a zealous God.
For Yahweh God your [is] a fire consuming he a God jealous.
25 'When thou begettest sons and sons' sons, and ye have become old in the land, and have done corruptly, and have made a graven image, a similitude of anything, and have done the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him to anger: —
For you will father children and children of children and you will grow old in the land and you will act corruptly and you will make an image of a form of anything and you will do the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh God your to provoke to anger him.
26 I have caused to testify against you this day the heavens and the earth, that ye do perish utterly hastily from off the land whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it; ye do not prolong days upon it, but are utterly destroyed;
I call as witnesses against you this day the heavens and the earth that certainly you will perish! quickly from on the land where you [are] about to pass over the Jordan there towards to take possession of it not you will prolong! days on it for utterly you will be destroyed!
27 and Jehovah hath scattered you among the peoples, and ye have been left few in number among the nations, whither Jehovah leadeth you,
And he will scatter Yahweh you among the peoples and you will be left men of number among the nations where he will drive away Yahweh you there towards.
28 and ye have served there gods, work of man's hands, wood and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.
And you will serve there gods [the] work of [the] hands of a human wood and stone which not they see! and not they hear! and not they eat! and not they smell!
29 'And — ye have sought from thence Jehovah thy God, and hast found, when thou seekest Him with all thy heart, and with all thy soul,
And you will seek from there Yahweh God your and you will find [him] for you will seek him with all heart your and with all being your.
30 in distress [being] to thee, and all these things have found thee, in the latter end of the days, and thou hast turned back unto Jehovah thy God, and hast hearkened to His voice;
When it is distress to you and they will come upon you all the things these at [the] end of the days and you will return to Yahweh God your and you will listen to voice his.

33 Hath a people heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, thou — and doth live?
¿ Has it heard a people [the] voice of a god speaking from [the] middle of the fire just as you have heard you and has it lived?
34 Or hath God tried to go in to take to Himself, a nation from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a strong hand, and by a stretched-out arm, and by great terrors — according to all that Jehovah your God hath done to you, in Egypt, before your eyes?
Or - ¿ has it attempted a god to come to take for itself a nation from [the] midst of a nation by trials by signs and by wonders and by battle and by a hand strong and by an arm outstretched and by terrors great like all that he did for you Yahweh God your in Egypt to eyes your.
35 Thou, thou hast been shewn [it], to know that Jehovah He [is] God; there is none else besides Him.
You you were shown to know that Yahweh he [is] God there not [is] still more from to alone him.
36 'From the heavens He hath caused thee to hear His voice, to instruct thee, and on earth He hath shewed thee His great fire, and His words thou hast heard out of the midst of the fire.
From the heavens he caused to hear you voice his to discipline you and on the earth he showed you fire his great and words his you heard from [the] middle of the fire.
37 'And because that He hath loved thy fathers, He doth also fix on their seed after them, and doth bring thee out, in His presence, by His great power, from Egypt:
And because that he loved ancestors your and he chose offspring his after him and he brought out you by own presence his by power his great from Egypt.
38 to dispossess nations greater and stronger than thou, from thy presence, to bring thee in to give to thee their land — an inheritance, as [at] this day.
To dispossess nations great and mighty more than you from before you to bring in you to give to you land their an inheritance as the day this.
39 'And thou hast known to-day, and hast turned [it] back unto thy heart, that Jehovah He [is] God, in the heavens above, and on the earth beneath — there is none else;
And you will know this day and you will bring back to heart your that Yahweh he [is] God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath there not [is] still more.
40 and thou hast kept His statutes and His commands which I am commanding thee to-day, so that it is well to thee, and to thy sons after thee, and so that thou prolongest days on the ground which Jehovah thy God is giving to thee — all the days.'
