Deuteronomy 31
1 And Moses goeth and speaketh these words unto all Israel,
POI Mosè andò, e tenne questi ragionamenti a tutto Israele, e disse loro:
2 and he saith unto them, 'A son of a hundred and twenty years [am] I to-day; I am not able any more to go out and to come in, and Jehovah hath said unto me, Thou dost not pass over this Jordan,
Io [sono] oggi d'età di centovent'anni; io non posso più andare e venire; oltre a ciò, il Signore mi ha detto: Tu non passerai questo Giordano.
3 'Jehovah thy God He is passing over before thee, He doth destroy these nations from before thee, and thou hast possessed them; Joshua — he is passing over before thee as Jehovah hath spoken,
Il Signore Iddio tuo sarà quel che passerà davanti a te; esso distruggerà d'innanzi a te queste nazioni, e tu possederai il lor [paese]; Giosuè [sarà quel che] passerà davanti a voi, come il Signore ne ha parlato.
4 and Jehovah hath done to them as he hath done to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorite, and to their land, whom He destroyed.
E il Signore farà a quelle, come ha fatto a Sihon, e ad Og, re degli Amorrei, e al lor paese, i quali egli ha distrutti.
5 And Jehovah hath given them before your face, and ye have done to them according to all the command which I have commanded you;
E il Signore le metterà in vostro potere, e voi farete loro interamente secondo il comandamento che io v'ho dato.
6 be strong and courageous, fear not, nor be terrified because of them, for Jehovah thy God [is] He who is going with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee.'
Siate valenti, e fortificatevi; non temete, e non vi spaventate di loro; perciocchè il Signore Iddio vostro [è] quel che cammina teco; egli non ti lascerà, e non ti abbandonerà.
7 And Moses calleth for Joshua, and saith unto him before the eyes of all Israel, 'Be strong and courageous, for thou — thou dost go in with this people unto the land which Jehovah hath sworn to their fathers to give to them, and thou — thou dost cause them to inherit it;
Poi Mosè chiamò Giosuè, e gli disse in presenza di tutto Israele: Sii valente, e fortificati; perciocchè tu sei quel che entrerai con questo popolo nel paese, del quale il Signore giurò a' lor padri ch'egli lo darebbe loro; e tu lo metterai in possessione di esso.
8 and Jehovah [is] He who is going before thee, He himself is with thee; He doth not fail thee nor forsake thee; fear not, nor be affrighted.'
E il Signore [è] quel che cammina davanti a te; egli sarà teco, egli non ti lascerà, e non ti abbandonerà; non temere, e non ispaventarti.
9 And Moses writeth this law, and giveth it unto the priests (sons of Levi, those bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah), and unto all the elders of Israel,
POI Mosè scrisse questa legge, e la diede a' sacerdoti, figliuoli di Levi, i quali portano l'Arca del Patto del Signore; e a tutti gli Anziani d'Israele.
10 and Moses commandeth them, saying, 'At the end of seven years, in the appointed time, the year of release, in the feast of booths,
E Mosè comandò, e disse loro: In capo d'ogni settimo anno, nel termine dell'anno della remissione, nella festa de' Tabernacoli;
11 in the coming in of all Israel to see the face of Jehovah in the place which He chooseth, thou dost proclaim this law before all Israel, in their ears.
quando tutto Israele sarà venuto per comparir davanti alla faccia del Signore Iddio vostro, nel luogo ch'egli avrà scelto, leggi questa Legge davanti a tutto Israele, sì ch'egli l'oda;
12 'Assemble the people, the men, and the women, and the infants, and thy sojourner who [is] within thy gates, so that they hear, and so that they learn, and have feared Jehovah your God, and observed to do all the words of this law;
avendo raunato il popolo, gli uomini, e le donne, e i piccoli fanciulli, e il tuo forestiere che [sarà] dentro alle tue porte; acciocchè odano, e imparino, e temano il Signore Iddio vostro, e osservino di mettere in opera tutte le parole di questa Legge;
13 and their sons, who have not known, do hear, and have learned to fear Jehovah your God all the days which ye are living on the ground whither ye are passing over the Jordan to possess it.'
e che i lor figliuoli, i quali non hanno [ancora] alcuna conoscenza, odano, e imparino a temere il Signore Iddio vostro, tutto il tempo che voi viverete in su la terra, nella quale, passato il Giordano, voi entrate per possederla.
14 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Lo, thy days have drawn near to die; call Joshua, and station yourselves in the tent of meeting, and I charge him;' and Moses goeth — Joshua also — and they station themselves in the tent of meeting,
E IL Signore disse a Mosè: Ecco, il tempo della tua morte è vicino; chiama Giosuè, e presentatevi nel Tabernacolo della convenenza; ed io gli comanderò [ciò ch'egli ha da fare]. Mosè adunque e Giosuè andarono, e si presentarono nel Tabernacolo della convenenza.
15 and Jehovah is seen in the tent, in a pillar of a cloud; and the pillar of the cloud standeth at the opening of the tent.
E il Signore apparve nel Tabernacolo, nella colonna della nuvola; e la colonna della nuvola si fermò in su l'entrata del Tabernacolo.
16 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, 'Lo, thou art lying down with thy fathers, and this people hath risen, and gone a-whoring after the gods of the stranger of the land into the midst of which it hath entered, and forsaken Me, and broken My covenant which I made with it;
E il Signore disse a Mosè: Ecco tu sei per giacer in breve co' tuoi padri; e questo popolo si leverà, e fornicherà dietro agl'iddii stranieri del paese, nel quale egli entra; e mi abbandonerà, e romperà il mio patto che io ho fatto con lui.
17 and Mine anger hath burned against it in that day, and I have forsaken them, and hidden My face from them, and it hath been for consumption, and many evils and distresses have found it, and it hath said in that day, Is it not because that my God is not in my midst — these evils have found me?
E in quel giorno l'ira mia si accenderà contro a lui, e io l'abbandonerò, e nasconderò da lui la mia faccia, e sarà consumato; e gran mali ed angosce gli avverranno; e in quel giorno egli dirà: Questi mali non mi sono eglino avvenuti perchè il Signore non [è] nel mezzo di me?
18 and I certainly hide My face in that day for all the evil which it hath done, for it hath turned unto other gods.
E io nasconderò del tutto la mia faccia in quel giorno, per tutto il male ch'egli avrà fatto; perciocchè si sarà rivolto ad altri dii.
19 'And now, write for you this song, and teach it the sons of Israel; put it in their mouths, so that this song is to Me for a witness against the sons of Israel,
Ora dunque, scrivetevi questo Cantico, ed insegnatelo a' figliuoli d'Israele, mettendolo loro in bocca; acciocchè questo Cantico mi sia per testimonio contro a' figliuoli d'Israele.
20 and I bring them in unto the ground which I have sworn to their fathers — flowing with milk and honey, and they have eaten, and been satisfied, and been fat, and have turned unto other gods, and they have served them, and despised Me, and broken My covenant.
Perciocchè io l'introdurrò nella terra, la quale io giurai a' suoi padri, [terra] stillante latte e miele; ed egli mangerà, e sarà saziato, e ingrassato; ed egli si rivolgerà ad altri dii, e servirà loro, e mi dispetterà, e romperà il mio patto.
21 'And it hath been, when many evils and distresses do meet it, that this song hath testified to its face for a witness; for it is not forgotten out of the mouth of its seed, for I have known its imagining which it is doing to-day, before I bring them in unto the land of which I have sworn.'
Onde, quando gran mali ed angosce gli saranno avvenute, questo Cantico testimonierà contro a lui in faccia; perciocchè non sarà dimenticato per non esser più nella bocca della sua progenie; conciossiachè io conosca la sua natura, ciò ch'egli fa oggi, innanzi ch'io l'abbia introdotto nel paese, ch'io ho giurato.
22 And Moses writeth this song on that day, and doth teach it the sons of Israel,
Mosè adunque scrisse questo Cantico in quel giorno, e l'insegnò a' figliuoli d'Israele.
23 and He commandeth Joshua son of Nun, and saith, 'Be strong and courageous, for thou dost bring in the sons of Israel unto the land which I have sworn to them, and I — I am with thee.'
Poi [il Signore] diede comandamenti a Giosuè, figliuolo di Nun, e [gli] disse: Sii valente, e fortificati; perciocchè tu sei quel che introdurrai i figliuoli d'Israele nel paese che io ho loro giurato; e io sarò teco.
24 And it cometh to pass, when Moses finisheth to write the words of this law on a book till their completion,
E, dopo che Mosè ebbe finito di scrivere compiutamente le parole di questa Legge in un libro,
25 that Moses commandeth the Levites bearing the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, saying,
comandò a' Leviti, che aveano da portar l'Arca del Patto del Signore, e disse [loro: ]
26 'Take this Book of the Law, and thou hast set it on the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, and it hath been there against thee for a witness;
Prendete questo Libro della Legge, e mettetelo allato all'Arca del Patto del Signore Iddio vostro; e sia quivi per testimonio contro a te.
27 for I — I have known thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck; lo, in my being yet alive with you to-day, rebellious ye have been with Jehovah, and also surely after my death.
Perciocchè io conosco la tua ribellione, e il tuo collo duro; ecco oggi, essendo io ancora in vita appresso di voi, voi siete stati ribelli contro al Signore; e quanto più [lo sarete] dopo la mia morte?
28 'Assemble unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your authorities, and I speak in their ears these words, and cause to testify against them the heavens and the earth,
Raunate appresso di me tutti gli Anziani delle vostre tribù, e i vostri Ufficiali, e io pronunzierò, in lor presenza, queste parole, e prenderò in testimonio contro a loro il cielo e la terra.
29 for I have known that after my death ye do very corruptly, and have turned aside out of the way which I commanded you, and evil hath met you in the latter end of the days, because ye do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to make Him angry with the work of your hands.'
Perciocchè io so che, dopo la mia morte, per certo voi vi corromperete, e vi rivolgerete dalla via ch'io v'ho comandata; onde male vi avverrà nel tempo a venire; perciocchè avrete fatto ciò che dispiace al Signore, dispettandolo con l'opera delle vostre mani.
30 And Moses speaketh in the ears of all the assembly of Israel the words of this song, till their completion: —
Mosè adunque pronunziò da un capo all'altro le parole di questo Cantico, nella presenza di tutta la raunanza di Israele.
