2 Samuel 5
1 And all the tribes of Israel come unto David, to Hebron, and speak, saying, 'Lo, we [are] thy bone and thy flesh;
௧அந்தக்காலத்திலே இஸ்ரவேலின் கோத்திரங்களெல்லாம் எப்ரோனில் இருக்கிற தாவீதிடம் வந்து: இதோ, நாங்கள் உம்முடைய எலும்பும் உம்முடைய சதையுமானவர்கள்.
2 also heretofore, in Saul's being king over us, thou hast been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah saith to thee, Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art for leader over Israel.'
௨சவுல் எங்கள்மேல் ராஜாவாக இருக்கும்போதே இஸ்ரவேலை நடத்திக்கொண்டுபோனவரும், நடத்திக்கொண்டுவந்தவரும் நீரே; யெகோவா: என்னுடைய மக்களான இஸ்ரவேலை நீ மேய்த்து, நீ இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் தலைவனாக இருப்பாய் என்று உம்மிடத்தில் சொன்னாரே என்றார்கள்.
3 And all the elders of Israel come unto the king, to Hebron, and king David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel.
௩இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பர்கள் எல்லோரும் எப்ரோனிலே ராஜாவிடம் வந்தார்கள்; தாவீது ராஜா எப்ரோனிலே யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக அவர்களோடு உடன்படிக்கைசெய்தபின்பு, அவர்கள் தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்தார்கள்.
4 A son of thirty years [is] David in his being king; forty years he hath reigned;
௪தாவீது ராஜாவாகும்போது, 30 வயதாக இருந்தான்; அவன் 40 வருடங்கள் ஆட்சி செய்தான்.
5 in Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years, over all Israel and Judah.
௫அவன் எப்ரோனிலே யூதாவை ஏழு வருடங்களும் ஆறு மாதங்களும், எருசலேமிலே இஸ்ரவேல் முழுவதும் யூதாவையும் 33 வருடங்களும் ஆட்சிசெய்தான்.
6 And the king goeth, and his men, to Jerusalem, unto the Jebusite, the inhabitant of the land, and they speak to David, saying, 'Thou dost not come in hither, except thou turn aside the blind and the lame;' saying, 'David doth not come in hither.'
௬தேசத்திலே குடியிருக்கிற எபூசியர்கள்மேல் யுத்தம்செய்ய ராஜா தன்னுடைய மனிதர்களோடு எருசலேமுக்குப் போனான். அவர்கள்: இதிலே தாவீதால் நுழையமுடியாது என்று நினைத்து, தாவீதை நோக்கி: நீ இதற்குள் நுழையமுடியாது; குருடர்களும் சப்பாணிகளும் உன்னைத் தடுப்பார்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.
7 And David captureth the fortress of Zion, it [is] the city of David.
௭ஆனாலும் தாவீது சீயோன் கோட்டையைப் பிடித்தான்; அது தாவீதின் நகரமானது.
8 And David saith on that day, 'Any one smiting the Jebusite, (let him go up by the watercourse), and the lame and the blind — the hated of David's soul,' — because the blind and lame say, 'He doth not come into the house.'
௮எவன் கழிவுநீர்க்கால்வாய் வழியாக ஏறி, எபூசியர்களையும் தாவீதின் எதிரிகளான சப்பாணிகளையும், குருடர்களையும் முறியடிக்கிறானோ, அவன் தலைவனாக இருப்பான் என்று தாவீது அன்றையதினம் சொல்லியிருந்தான்; அதனால் குருடனும் சப்பாணியும்; யெகோவாவின் வீட்டிற்குள் வரக்கூடாது என்று சொல்வதுண்டு.
9 And David dwelleth in the fortress, and calleth it — City of David, and David buildeth round about, from Millo and inward,
௯அந்தக் கோட்டையிலே தாவீது வாழ்ந்து, அதற்குத் தாவீதின் நகரம் என்று பெயரிட்டு, மில்லோ என்னும் இடம் துவங்கி, உட்புறம்வரை சுற்றிலும் மதிலைக் கட்டினான்.
10 and David goeth, going on and becoming great, and Jehovah, God of Hosts, [is] with him.
௧0தாவீது நாளுக்குநாள் அதிக பெலமடைந்தான்; ஏனென்றால், சேனைகளின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவா அவனோடு இருந்தார்.
11 And Hiram king of Tyre sendeth messengers unto David, and cedar-trees, and artificers of wood, and artificers of stone, for walls, and they build a house for David,
௧௧தீருவின் ராஜாவான ஈராம் தாவீதிடம் தூதுவர்களையும், கேதுரு மரங்களையும், தச்சர்களையும், கொத்தனார்களையும் அனுப்பினான்; அவர்கள் தாவீதுக்கு ஒரு வீட்டைக் கட்டினார்கள்.
12 and David knoweth that Jehovah hath established him for king over Israel, and that He hath lifted up his kingdom, because of His people Israel.
௧௨யெகோவா தன்னை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாகப் பெலப்படுத்தி, தம்முடைய மக்களான இஸ்ரவேலுக்காக தன்னுடைய ராஜ்ஜியத்தை உயர்த்தினார் என்று தாவீது தெளிவாக அறிந்தபோது.
13 And David taketh again concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after his coming from Hebron, and there are born again to David sons and daughters.
௧௩அவன் எப்ரோனிலிருந்து வந்த பின்பு, எருசலேமில் இன்னும் அதிகமான மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் பெண்களையும் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டான்; இன்னும் அதிக மகன்களும், மகள்களும் தாவீதுக்குப் பிறந்தார்கள்.
14 And these [are] the names of those born to him in Jerusalem: Shammuah, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,
௧௪எருசலேமில் அவனுக்குச் சம்முவா, சோபாப், நாத்தான், சாலொமோன்,
15 and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
௧௫இப்பார், எலிசூவா, நெப்பேக், யப்பியா,
16 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphalet.
௧௬எலிஷாமா, எலியாதா, எலிப்பேலேத் என்ற பெயர்களை உடைய மகன்கள் பிறந்தார்கள்.
17 And the Philistines hear that they have anointed David for king over Israel, and all the Philistines come up to seek David, and David heareth, and goeth down unto the fortress,
௧௭தாவீதை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்செய்தார்கள் என்று பெலிஸ்தர்கள் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவர்கள் எல்லோரும் தாவீதைத் தேடும்படி வந்தார்கள்; அதைத் தாவீது கேட்டபோது, ஒரு கோட்டைக்குள் போனான்.
18 and the Philistines have come, and are spread out in the valley of Rephaim.
௧௮பெலிஸ்தர்களோ வந்து, ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே பரவியிருந்தார்கள்.
19 And David asketh of Jehovah, saying, 'Do I go up unto the Philistines? dost Thou give them into my hand?' And Jehovah saith unto David, 'Go up, for I certainly give the Philistines into thy hand.'
௧௯பெலிஸ்தர்களுக்கு எதிராகப் போகலாமா, அவர்களை என்னுடைய கையிலே ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பீரா என்று தாவீது கர்த்தரிடம் விசாரித்தபோது, யெகோவா: போ, பெலிஸ்தர்களை உன்னுடைய கையில் நிச்சயமாக ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பேன் என்று தாவீதுக்குச் சொன்னார்.
20 And David cometh in to Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and saith, 'Jehovah hath broken forth [on] mine enemies before me, as the breaking forth of waters;' therefore he hath called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.
௨0தாவீது பாகால்பிராசீமிற்கு வந்து, அங்கே அவர்களை முறியடித்து: தண்ணீர்கள் வெள்ளம் பெருக்கெடுத்து ஓடுகிறதுபோல, யெகோவ என்னுடைய எதிரிகளை எனக்கு முன்பாக சிதறடித்தார் என்று சொல்லி, அதினால் அந்த இடத்திற்குப் பாகால்பிராசீம் என்று பெயரிட்டான்.
21 And they forsake there their idols, and David and his men lift them up.
௨௧அங்கே பெலிஸ்தர்கள் தங்களுடைய விக்கிரகங்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அவைகளைத் தாவீதும் அவனுடைய மனிதர்களும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டுபோனார்கள்.
22 And the Philistines add again to come up, and are spread out in the valley of Rephaim,
௨௨பெலிஸ்தர்கள் திரும்பவும் வந்து, ரெப்பாயீம் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே இறங்கினார்கள்.
23 and David asketh of Jehovah, and He saith, 'Thou dost not go up, turn round unto their rear, and thou hast come to them over-against the mulberries,
௨௩தாவீது யெகோவாவிடம் விசாரித்ததற்கு, அவர்: நீ நேராகப் போகாமல், அவர்களுக்குப் பின்னாலே சுற்றி, முசுக்கட்டைச் செடிகளுக்கு எதிராக இருந்து, அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து,
24 and it cometh to pass, in thy hearing the sound of a stepping in the tops of the mulberries, then thou dost move sharply, for then hath Jehovah gone out before thee to smite in the camp of the Philistines.'
௨௪முசுக்கட்டைச் செடிகளின் நுனிகளிலே செல்லுகிற சத்தத்தை நீ கேட்கும்போது, சீக்கிரமாக எழுந்துப்போ; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்களின் முகாமை முறியடிக்க, யெகோவா உனக்கு முன்பாகப் புறப்பட்டிருப்பார் என்றார்.
25 And David doth so, as Jehovah commanded him, and smiteth the Philistines from Geba unto thy coming to Gazer.
௨௫யெகோவா தாவீதுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டபடி அவன் செய்து, பெலிஸ்தர்களைக் கேபா துவங்கிக் கேசேர் எல்லைவரை முறியடித்தான்.
