2 Kings 9
1 And Elisha the prophet hath called to one of the sons of the prophets, and saith to him, 'Gird up thy loins, and take this vial of oil in thy hand, and go to Ramoth-Gilead,
૧એલિશા પ્રબોધકે પ્રબોધકોના દીકરાઓમાંના એકને બોલાવ્યો. અને તેને કહ્યું, “તારી કમર બાંધ, તારા હાથમાં તેલની આ શીશી લે. અને રામોથ ગિલ્યાદ જા.”
2 and thou hast gone in there, and see thou there Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, and thou hast gone in, and caused him to rise out of the midst of his brethren, and brought him in to the inner part of an inner-chamber,
૨તું ત્યાં જઈને નિમ્શીના દીકરા યહોશાફાટના દીકરા યેહૂને શોધી કાઢજે. ઘરમાં જઈને તેને તેના ભાઈઓ મધ્યેથી ઉઠાડીને અંદરની ઓરડીમાં લઈ જજે.
3 and taken the vial of oil, and poured on his head, and said, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel; and thou hast opened the door, and fled, and dost not wait.'
૩પછી આ તેલની શીશીનું તેલ તેના માથા પર રેડજે. અને કહેજે કે, “યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે કે, મેં તને ઇઝરાયલના રાજા તરીકે અભિષિક્ત કર્યો છે.’ પછી દરવાજો ખોલીને તરત નાસી આવજે; વિલંબ કરીશ નહિ.”
4 And the young man goeth — the young man the prophet — to Ramoth-Gilead,
૪તેથી તે જુવાન, એટલે જુવાન પ્રબોધક રામોથ ગિલ્યાદ ગયો.
5 and cometh in, and lo, chiefs of the force are sitting, and he saith, 'I have a word unto thee, O chief!' and Jehu saith, 'Unto which of all of us?' and he saith, 'Unto thee, O chief.'
૫જ્યારે તે ત્યાં આવ્યો, ત્યારે, સૈન્યના સરદારો બેઠેલા હતા. તે જુવાન પ્રબોધકે કહ્યું, “હે સરદાર, હું તમારે માટે સંદેશ લાવ્યો છું.” યેહૂએ પૂછ્યું, “અમારા બધામાંથી કોને માટે?” જુવાન પ્રબોધકે કહ્યું, “હે સરદાર, તારા માટે.”
6 And he riseth and cometh in to the house, and he poureth the oil on his head, and saith to him, 'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I have anointed thee for king unto the people of Jehovah, unto Israel,
૬પછી યેહૂ ઊઠીને ઘરમાં ગયો અને પ્રબોધકે તેના માથા પર તેલ રેડીને તેને કહ્યું, “ઇઝરાયલના યહોવાહ એવું કહે છે, ‘મેં તને યહોવાહના લોકો એટલે ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજા તરીકે અભિષિક્ત કર્યો છે.
7 and thou hast smitten the house of Ahab thy lord, and I have required the blood of My servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Jehovah, from the hand of Jezebel;
૭તું તારા માલિક આહાબના કુટુંબનાંને મારશે કે, જેથી હું મારા સેવક પ્રબોધકોના રક્તનો બદલો અને યહોવાહના બધા સેવકોના રક્તનો બદલો ઇઝબેલ પર વાળું.
8 and perished hath all the house of Ahab, and I have cut off to Ahab those sitting on the wall, and restrained, and left, in Israel,
૮કેમ કે આહાબનું આખું કુટુંબ નાશ પામશે, આહાબના દરેક નર બાળકને તથા જે બંદીવાન હોય તેને તેમ જ સ્વતંત્ર હોય તેને હું નાબૂદ કરીશ.
9 and I have given up the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and as the house of Baasha son of Ahijah,
૯આહાબના કુટુંબને હું નબાટના દીકરા યરોબામના કુટુંબની માફક અને અહિયાના દીકરા બાશાના કુટુંબની માફક કરી નાખીશ.
10 and Jezebel do the dogs eat in the portion of Jezreel, and there is none burying;' and he openeth the door and fleeth.
૧૦ઇઝબેલને યિઝ્રએલમાં કૂતરા ખાશે, તેને દફનાવનાર કોઈ હશે નહિ.’ પછી તે બારણું ઉઘાડીને ઉતાવળે જતો રહ્યો.
11 And Jehu hath gone out unto the servants of his lord, and [one] saith to him, 'Is there peace? wherefore came this madman unto thee?' and he saith unto them, 'Ye have known the man and his talk.'
૧૧ત્યાર પછી યેહૂ તેના માલિકના ચાકરોની પાસે બહાર આવ્યો, એકે તેને પૂછ્યું, “બધું ક્ષેમકુશળ છે? આ પાગલ માણસ શા માટે તારી પાસે આવ્યો હતો?” યેહૂએ તેઓને જવાબ આપ્યો, “તે માણસને તમે ઓળખો છો અને તેણે શી વાતો કરી તે તમે જાણો છો?”
12 And they say, 'False, declare, we pray thee, to us;' and he saith, 'Thus and thus spake he unto me, saying, Thus said Jehovah, I have anointed thee for king unto Israel.'
૧૨તેઓએ કહ્યું, “ના, અમે નથી જાણતા. તું અમને કહે.” ત્યારે યેહૂએ કહ્યું, “તેણે મને આમ કહ્યું, તેણે એ પણ કહ્યું, યહોવાહ એમ કહે છે: મેં તને ઇઝરાયલ પર રાજા તરીકે અભિષિક્ત કર્યો છે.’
13 And they haste and take each his garment, and put [it] under him at the top of the stairs, and blow with a trumpet, and say, 'Reigned hath Jehu!'
૧૩ત્યારે તે દરેકે તરત જ પોતાનાં વસ્ત્ર ઉતારીને સીડીના પગથિયા પર યેહૂના પગ નીચે મૂક્યાં. તેઓએ રણશિંગડું વગાડીને કહ્યું, “યેહૂ રાજા છે.”
14 And Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, conspireth against Joram — (and Joram was keeping in Ramoth-Gilead, he and all Israel, from the presence of Hazael king of Aram,
૧૪આ રીતે નિમ્શીના દીકરા યહોશાફાટના દીકરા યેહૂએ યોરામ સામે બળવો કર્યો. હવે યોરામ અને સર્વ ઇઝરાયલ અરામના રાજા હઝાએલના કારણથી રામોથ ગિલ્યાદનો બચાવ કરતા હતા.
15 and king Joram turneth back to be healed in Jezreel, of the wounds with which the Aramaeans smite him, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram) — and Jehu saith, 'If it is your mind, let not an escaped one go out from the city, to go to declare [it] in Jezreel.'
૧૫પણ યોરામ રાજા તો અરામના રાજા હઝાએલ સામે યુદ્ધ કરતો હતો, ત્યારે અરામીઓએ જે ઘા કર્યા હતા તેથી સાજો થવા માટે યિઝ્રએલ પાછો આવ્યો હતો. યેહૂએ યોરામના ચાકરોને કહ્યું, “જો તમારું મન એવું હોય, તો યિઝ્રએલમાં ખબર આપવા જવા માટે કોઈને નાસીને નગરમાંથી બહાર જવા દેશો નહિ.”
16 And Jehu rideth, and goeth to Jezreel, for Joram is lying there, and Ahaziah king of Judah hath gone down to see Joram.
૧૬માટે યેહૂ પોતાના રથમાં બેસીને યિઝ્રએલ જવા નીકળ્યો, કેમ કે, યોરામ ત્યાં આરામ કરતો હતો. હવે યહૂદિયાનો રાજા અહાઝયાહ યોરામને જોવા માટે ત્યાં આવ્યો હતો.
17 And the watchman is standing on the tower in Jezreel, and seeth the company of Jehu in his coming, and saith, 'A company I see;' and Joram saith, 'Take a rider and send to meet them, and let him say, Is there peace?'
૧૭યિઝ્રએલના બુરજ પર ચોકીદાર ઊભો હતો, તેણે ઘણે દૂરથી યેહૂની ટોળીને આવતી જોઈને કહ્યું, “હું માણસોના ટોળાને આવતું જોઉં છું.” યોરામે કહ્યું, “એક ઘોડેસવારને તેઓને મળવા મોકલ. અને તે પૂછે છે કે, ‘શું તમને સલાહશાંતિ છે?’”
18 and the rider on the horse goeth to meet him, and saith, 'Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, 'What — to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.' And the watchman declareth, saying, 'The messenger came unto them, and he hath not returned.'
૧૮તેથી ઘોડેસવાર યેહૂને મળ્યો અને કહ્યું, “રાજા એમ પૂછે છે કે: ‘શું તમને સલાહશાંતિ છે?’” માટે યેહૂએ કહ્યું, “તારે શાંતિનું શું કામ છે? તું વળીને મારી પાછળ આવ.” ત્યારે ચોકીદારે રાજાને કહ્યું કે, “સંદેશાવાહક તેઓને મળવા ગયો તો ખરો, પણ તે પાછો આવ્યો નથી.”
19 And he sendeth a second rider on a horse, and he cometh in unto them, and saith, 'Thus said the king, Is there peace?' and Jehu saith, 'What — to thee and to peace? turn round behind me.'
૧૯“પછી તેણે બીજો ઘોડેસવાર મોકલ્યો, તેણે ત્યાં આવીને તેઓને કહ્યું, “રાજા એમ પુછાવે છે કે: ‘શું સલાહ શાંતિ છે?’” યેહૂએ કહ્યું, “તારે શાંતિનું શું કામ છે? તું પાછો વળીને મારી પાછળ આવ.”
20 And the watchman declareth, saying, 'He came unto them, and he hath not returned, and the driving [is] like the driving of Jehu son of Nimshi, for with madness he driveth.'
૨૦ફરીથી ચોકીદારે ખબર આપી, “તે પણ તેઓને મળ્યો, પણ તે પાછો આવતો નથી. તેની રથની સવારીની પધ્ધતિ તો નિમ્શીના દીકરા યેહૂની સવારી જેવી લાગે છે, કેમ કે, તે ઝડપી સવારી કરી રહ્યો છે.”
21 And Jehoram saith, 'Harness;' and his chariot is harnessed, and Jehoram king of Israel goeth out, and Ahaziah king of Judah, each in his chariot, and they go out to meet Jehu, and find him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
૨૧યોરામે કહ્યું, “મારો રથ તૈયાર કરો.” તેઓએ તેનો રથ તૈયાર કર્યો. ઇઝરાયલનો રાજા યોરામ અને યહૂદિયાનો રાજા અહાઝયાહ પોતપોતાના રથમાં યેહૂને મળવા ગયા. તે તેઓને નાબોથ યિઝ્રએલીની ખડકી આગળ મળ્યો.
22 And it cometh to pass, at Jehoram's seeing Jehu, that he saith, 'Is there peace, Jehu?' and he saith, 'What [is] the peace, while the whoredoms of Jezebel thy mother, and her witchcrafts, are many?'
૨૨યોરામે યેહૂને જોતાં જ કહ્યું, “યેહૂ શું સલાહ શાંતિ છે?” તેણે કહ્યું, “જ્યાં સુધી તારી માતા ઇઝબેલ વ્યભિચાર તથા તંત્રમંત્ર કર્યા કરતી હોય ત્યાં સુધી શાની શાંતિ હોય?”
23 And Jehoram turneth his hands, and fleeth, and saith unto Ahaziah, 'Deceit, O Ahaziah!'
૨૩તેથી યોરામ તેનો રથ ફેરવીને પાછો વળીને નાઠો અને અહાઝયાહને કહ્યું, “વિશ્વાસઘાત છે, અહાઝયાહ.”
24 And Jehu hath filled his hand with a bow, and smiteth Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow goeth out from his heart, and he boweth down in his chariot.
૨૪પછી યેહૂએ પોતાના પૂરેપૂરા બળથી ધનુષ્ય ખેંચીને યોરામના ખભા વચ્ચે તીર માર્યું; એ તીર તેના હૃદયને વીંધીને પાર નીકળી ગયું અને તે રથમાં જ ઢળી પડયો.
25 And [Jehu] saith unto Bidkar his captain, 'Lift up, cast him into the portion of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite — for, remember, I and thou were riding together after Ahab his father, and Jehovah lifted upon him this burden:
૨૫પછી યેહૂએ પોતાના સરદાર બિદકારને કહ્યું, “તેને ઉઠાવીને નાબોથ યિઝ્રએલીના ખેતરમાં નાખી દે. જ્યારે તું અને હું બન્ને સાથે તેના પિતા આહાબની પાછળ સવારી કરીને આવતા હતા ત્યારે યહોવાહે તેની વિરુદ્ધ આ ભવિષ્યવાણી કરી હતી તે યાદ કર.
26 Have I not the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons seen yesternight — the affirmation of Jehovah — yea, I have recompensed to thee in this portion — the affirmation of Jehovah; — and now, lift up, cast him into the portion, according to the word of Jehovah.'
૨૬યહોવાહ કહે છે, ‘ખરેખર ગઈકાલે મેં નાબોથનું અને તેના દીકરાઓનું રક્ત જોયું છે.’ યહોવાહ કહે છે કે, ‘આ જ ખેતરમાં હું તારી પાસેથી બદલો લઈશ.’ હવે ચાલો, યહોવાહના વચન પ્રમાણે તેને ઉઠાવી લઈને તે ખેતરમાં નાખી દો.”
27 And Ahaziah king of Judah hath seen, and fleeth the way of the garden-house, and Jehu pursueth after him, and saith, 'Smite him — also him — in the chariot,' in the going up to Gur, that [is] Ibleam, and he fleeth to Megiddo, and dieth there,
૨૭યહૂદિયાનો રાજા અહાઝયાહ આ જોઈને બેથ-હાગ્ગાનને માર્ગે નાસી ગયો. પણ યેહૂએ તેની પાછળ પડીને તેને કહ્યું, “તેને પણ રથમાં મારી નાખો.” તેઓએ તેને યિબ્લામ પાસેના ગૂરના ઘાટ આગળ તેને મારીને ઘાયલ કર્યો. અહાઝયાહ મગિદ્દોમાં નાસી ગયો અને ત્યાં મરણ પામ્યો.
28 and his servants carry him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and bury him in his burying-place, with his fathers, in the city of David.
૨૮તેના ચાકરો તેના શબને રથમાં યરુશાલેમ લાવ્યા અને દાઉદનગરમાં તેના પિતૃઓની સાથે તેની કબરમાં દફ્નાવ્યો.
29 And in the eleventh year of Joram son of Ahab reign did Ahaziah over Judah.
૨૯આહાબના દીકરા યોરામના શાસનકાળના અગિયારમા વર્ષે અહાઝયાહ યહૂદિયા પર રાજ કરવા લાગ્યો.
30 And Jehu cometh in to Jezreel, and Jezebel hath heard, and putteth her eyes in paint and maketh right her head, and looketh out through the window.
૩૦યેહૂ યિઝ્રએલ આવ્યો, ઇઝબેલ એ સાંભળ્યું, ત્યારે તેણે પોતાની આંખોમાં કાજળ લગાવ્યું તથા માથું ઓળીને બારીમાંથી નજર કરી.
31 And Jehu hath come into the gate, and she saith, 'Was there peace [to] Zimri — slayer of his lord?'
૩૧જેવો યેહૂ દરવાજામાં પ્રવેશ્યો કે ઇઝબેલે તેને કહ્યું, “હે પોતાના માલિકનું ખૂન કરનાર, ઝિમ્રી તું શાંતિમાં આવ્યો છે?”
32 And he lifteth up his face unto the window, and saith, 'Who [is] with me? — who?' and look out unto him do two [or] three eunuchs;
૩૨યેહૂએ બારી તરફ ઊંચું જોઈને કહ્યું, “મારા પક્ષમાં કોણ છે? કોણ?” ત્યારે બે ત્રણ ખોજાઓએ બહાર જોયું.
33 And he saith, 'Let her go;' and they let her go, and [some] of her blood is sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses, and he treadeth her down.
૩૩યેહૂએ કહ્યું, “તેને નીચે ફેંકી દો.” તેથી તેઓએ ઇઝબેલને નીચે ફેંકી દીધી, તેના રક્તના છાંટા દીવાલ પર તથા ઘોડાઓ પર પડ્યા. અને યેહૂએ તેને પગ નીચે કચડી નાખી.
34 And he cometh in, and eateth, and drinketh, and saith, 'Look after, I pray you, this cursed one, and bury her, for she [is] a king's daughter.'
૩૪પછી યેહૂએ મહેલમાં જઈને ખાધું અને પીધું. પછી તેણે કહ્યું, “હવે આ શાપિત સ્ત્રીને સંભાળીને દફનાવો, કેમ કે તે રાજાની દીકરી છે.”
35 And they go to bury her, and have not found of her except the skull, and the feet, and the palms of the hands.
૩૫તેઓ તેને દફનાવવા ગયા, પણ તેની ખોપરી, પગ તથા હથેળીઓ સિવાય બીજું કંઈ તેમને મળ્યું નહિ.
36 And they turn back, and declare to him, and he saith, 'The word of Jehovah it [is], that He spake by the hand of this servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel do the dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel,
૩૬માટે તેઓએ પાછા આવીને યેહૂને ખબર આપી. તેણે કહ્યું, “યહોવાહે પોતાના સેવક તિશ્બી એલિયા દ્વારા જે વચન કહ્યું હતું તે આ છે કે, ‘યિઝ્રએલની ભૂમિમાં કૂતરાઓ ઇઝબેલનું માંસ ખાશે,
37 and the carcase of Jezebel hath been as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, that they say not, This [is] Jezebel.'
૩૭અને ઇઝબેલનો મૃતદેહ યિઝ્રએલ ભૂમિના ખેતરોમાં ખાતરરૂપ થશે. જેથી કોઈ એવું નહિ કહે કે, “આ ઇઝબેલ છે.”
