2 Kings 21
1 A son of twelve years [is] Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Hephzi-Bah;
Manassé [était] âgé de douze ans, quand il commença à régner, et il régna cinquante-cinq ans à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Hephtsiba.
2 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,
Et il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel, selon les abominations des nations que l'Eternel avait chassées de devant les enfants d'Israël.
3 and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father destroyed, and raiseth altars for Baal, and maketh a shrine, as did Ahab king of Israel, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.
Car il rebâtit les hauts lieux qu'Ezéchias son père avait détruits, et redressa des autels à Bahal, et fit un bocage, comme avait fait Achab Roi d'Israël, il se prosterna devant toute l'armée des cieux, et il les servit.
4 And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, 'In Jerusalem I put My name.'
Il bâtit aussi des autels dans la maison de l'Eternel, de laquelle l'Eternel avait dit: Je mettrai mon Nom dans Jérusalem.
5 And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah;
Il bâtit, dis-je, des autels à toute l'armée des cieux dans les deux parvis de la maison de l'Eternel.
6 and he hath caused his son to pass through fire, and observed clouds, and used enchantment, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah — to provoke to anger.
Il fit aussi passer son fils par le feu, et il pronostiquait les temps, et observait les augures; il dressa un [oracle] d'esprit de Python, et de diseurs de bonne aventure; il faisait de plus en plus ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel pour l'irriter.
7 And he setteth the graven image of the shrine that he made in the house of which Jehovah said unto David and unto Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name — to the age;
Il posa aussi l'image du bocage qu'il avait fait, dans la maison dont l'Eternel avait dit à David, et à Salomon son fils: Je mettrai à perpétuité mon Nom dans cette maison, et dans Jérusalem, que j'ai choisie d'entre toutes les Tribus d Israël.
8 and I do not add to cause the foot of Israel to move from the ground that I gave to their fathers, only, if they observe to do according to all that I commanded them, and to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.'
Et je ne ferai plus sortir les Israëlites hors de cette terre que j'ai donnée à leurs pères, pourvu seulement qu'ils prennent garde à faire selon tout ce que je leur ai commandé, et selon toute la Loi que Moïse mon serviteur leur a ordonnée.
9 And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causeth them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.
Mais ils n'obéirent point; car Manassé les fit égarer, jusqu'à faire pis que les nations que Dieu avait exterminées de devant les enfants d'Israël.
10 And Jehovah speaketh by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying,
Et l'Eternel parla par le moyen de ses serviteurs les Prophètes, en disant:
11 'Because that Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations — he hath done evil above all that the Amorites have done who [are] before him, and causeth also Judah to sin by his idols;
Parce que Manassé Roi de Juda a commis ces abominations, faisant pis que tout ce qu'ont fait les Amorrhéens qui ont été avant lui, et parce aussi qu'il a fait pécher Juda par ses dieux de fiente:
12 therefore thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Lo, I am bringing in evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever heareth of it, tingle do his two ears.
A cause de cela l'Eternel le Dieu d'Israël, dit ainsi: Voici, je m'en vais faire venir un mal sur Jérusalem et sur Juda, tel que quiconque en entendra parler, les deux oreilles lui en corneront.
13 And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipeth the dish — he hath wiped, and hath turned [it] on its face.
Car j'étendrai sur Jérusalem le cordeau de Samarie, et le niveau de la maison d'Achab; et je torcherai Jérusalem comme une écuelle qu'on torche, et laquelle, après qu'on l'a torchée, on renverse sur son fond.
14 'And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies,
Et j'abandonnerai le reste de mon héritage, et je les livrerai entre les mains de leurs ennemis; et ils seront en pillage, et en proie à tous leurs ennemis.
15 because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.'
Parce qu'ils ont fait ce qui me déplaît, et qu'ils m'ont irrité depuis le jour que leurs pères sont sortis d'Egypte, même jusqu'à ce jour-ci.
16 And also, innocent blood hath Manasseh shed very much, till that he hath filled Jerusalem — mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he hath caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.
Davantage Manassé répandit une grande abondance de sang innocent, jusqu'à en remplir Jérusalem d'un bout à l'autre, outre son péché par lequel il fit pécher Juda; tellement qu'il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel.
17 And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Le reste des faits de Manassé, tout ce, dis-je, qu'il a fait; et le péché qu'il commit, n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois de Juda?
18 And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and is buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.
Puis Manassé s'endormit avec ses pères, et fut enseveli au jardin de sa maison, au Jardin de Huza; et Amon son fils régna en sa place.
19 A son of twenty and two years [is] Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother [is] Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah,
Amon était âgé de vingt-deux ans, quand il commença à régner, et il régna deux ans à Jérusalem; sa mère avait nom Messullémet, fille de Haruts de Jotba.
20 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father,
Il fit ce qui déplaît à l'Eternel comme avait fait Manassé son père.
21 and walketh in all the way that his father walked in, and serveth the idols that his father served, and boweth himself to them,
Car il suivit tout le train que son père avait tenu, et servit les dieux de fiente que son père avait servis, et se prosterna devant eux.
22 and forsaketh Jehovah, God of his fathers, and hath not walked in the way of Jehovah.
Il abandonna l'Eternel le Dieu de ses pères, et il ne marcha point dans la voie de l'Eternel.
23 And the servants of Amon conspire against him, and put the king to death in his own house,
Or les serviteurs d'Amon firent une conspiration contre lui, et tuèrent le Roi dans sa maison.
24 and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.
Mais le peuple du pays frappa tous ceux qui avaient conspiré contre le Roi Amon, et ils établirent Josias son fils Roi en sa place.
25 And the rest of the matters of Amon that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?
Le reste des faits d'Amon, lesquels il a fait, n'est-il pas écrit au Livre des Chroniques des Rois de Juda?
26 and [one] burieth him in his burying-place in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Josiah his son in his stead.
Or on l'ensevelit dans son sépulcre au Jardin de Huza; et Josias son fils régna en sa place.
