2 Kings 17
1 In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah reigned hath Hoshea son of Elah in Samaria, over Israel — nine years,
Im zwölften Jahre Ahas', des Königs von Juda, ward Hosea, der Sohn Elas, zu Samaria König über Israel und regierte neun Jahre.
2 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, only, not as the kings of Israel who were before him;
Und er that, was Jahwe mißfiel; jedoch nicht wie die Könige von Israel, die vor ihm gewesen waren.
3 against him came up Shalmaneser king of Asshur, and Hoshea is to him a servant, and doth render to him a present.
Gegen ihn zog Salmanassar, der König von Assyrien, heran, und Hosea ward ihm unterthan und entrichtete ihm Tribut.
4 And the king of Asshur findeth in Hoshea a conspiracy, in that he hath sent messengers unto So king of Egypt, and hath not caused a present to go up to the king of Asshur, as year by year, and the king of Asshur restraineth him, and bindeth him in a house of restraint.
Als aber der König von Assyrien den Hosea treulos erfand (er hatte nämlich Boten an Sewe, den König von Ägypten, gesandt und nicht mehr, wie sonst alljährlich, an den König von Assyrien Tribut gezahlt), da schritt der könig von Assyrien wider ihn ein und legte ihn gebunden ins Gefängnis.
5 And the king of Asshur goeth up into all the land, and he goeth up to Samaria, and layeth siege against it three years;
Und der König von Assyrien zog gegen das ganze Land heran und zog nach Samaria und belagerte es drei Jahre lang.
6 in the ninth year of Hoshea hath the king of Asshur captured Samaria, and removeth Israel to Asshur, and causeth them to dwell in Halah, and in Habor, [by] the river Gozan, and [in] the cities of the Medes.
Im neunten Jahre Hoseas aber eroberte der König von Assyrien Samaria und führte die Israeliten gefangen hinweg nach Assyrien und gab ihnen Wohnsitze in Halah und am Habor, dem Strome von Gosan, und in den Städten der Meder.
7 And it cometh to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against Jehovah their God — who bringeth them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt — and fear other gods,
Es hatten sich aber die Israeliten an Jahwe, ihrem Gotte, der sie aus Ägypten und aus der Gewalt des Pharao, des Königs von Ägypten, befreit hatte, versündigt; sie verehrten andere Götter
8 and walk in the statutes of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel that they made;
und wandelten in den Satzungen der Völker, welche Jahwe vor den Israeliten ausgetrieben hatte, und in den Satzungen der Könige von Israel, die diese selbst gemacht hatten.
9 and the sons of Israel do covertly things that [are] not right against Jehovah their God, and build for them high places in all their cities, from a tower of the watchers unto the fenced city,
Und die Israeliten ersannen Dinge, die nicht recht waren, wider Jahwe, ihren Gott: sie errichteten sich Opferhöhen in allen ihren Ortschaften vom bloßen Wachtturm an bis zur befestigten Stadt,
10 and set up for them standing-pillars and shrines on every high height, and under every green tree,
stellten sich Malsteine auf und Ascheren auf jedem hohen Hügel und unter jedem grünen Baum
11 and make perfume there in all high places, like the nations that Jehovah removed from their presence, and do evil things to provoke Jehovah,
und räucherten daselbst auf allen Höhen, wie die Völker, die Jahwe vor ihnen weggeführt hatte. Sie trieben schlimme Dinge, um Jahwe zum Zorne zu reizen,
12 and serve the idols, of which Jehovah said to them, 'Ye do not do this thing;'
und dienten den Götzen, in betreff deren Jahwe ihnen gesagt hatte: Ihr dürft solches nicht thun!
13 And Jehovah testifieth against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, 'Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;'
Jahwe aber verwarnte Israel und Juda durch alle seine Propheten, jeden Schauer, indem er sprach: Bekehrt euch von euren bösen Wegen und haltet meine Gebote und meine Satzungen, genau nach der Weisung, die ich euren Vätern gegeben, und gemäß dem, was ich euch durch meine Knechte, die Propheten, entboten habe.
14 and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Jehovah their God,
Sie aber gehorchten nicht, sondern zeigten sich halsstarrig, wie ihre Väter, die auf Jahwe, ihren Gott, nicht vertraut hatten;
15 and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are round about them, of whom Jehovah commanded them not to do like them;
sie wollten nichts wissen von seinen Satzungen und seinem Bunde, den er mit ihren Vätern geschlossen hatte, und von seinen Warnungen, mit denen er sie verwarnte, sondern wandelten den Nichtigen nach und handelten nichtig in Nachahmung der Völker, die rings um sie her wohnten, obgleich Jahwe ihnen verboten hatte, es jenen gleich zu thun.
16 And they forsake all the commands of Jehovah their God, and make to them a molten image — two calves, and make a shrine, and bow themselves to all the host of the heavens, and serve Baal,
Sie sagten sich los von allen Geboten Jahwes, ihres Gottes, fertigten sich Gußbilder an, zwei Kälber, und machten sich Ascheren, warfen sich nieder vor dem ganzen Heere des Himmels und dienten dem Baal.
17 and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke Him;
Sie ließen ihre Söhne und Töchter durchs Feuer gehen, trieben Wahrsagerei und Zeichendeuterei und gaben sich dazu her, zu thun, was Jahwe mißfiel, daß sie ihn zum Zorne reizten
18 That Jehovah sheweth himself very angry against Israel, and turneth them aside from His presence; none hath been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself.
Da erzürnte sich Jahwe heftig über Israel und schaffte sie hinweg von seinem Angesicht; nichts blieb übrig, außer allein der Stamm Juda.
19 Also Judah hath not kept the commands of Jehovah their God, and they walk in the statutes of Israel that they had made.
Aber auch die Judäer hielten die Gebote Jahwes, ihres Gottes, nicht, sondern wandelten in den Satzungen der Israeliten, die diese selbst gemacht hatten.
20 And Jehovah kicketh against all the seed of Israel, and afflicteth them, and giveth them into the hand of spoilers, till that He hath cast them out of His presence,
Darum verwarf Jahwe das ganze Geschlecht der Israeliten und demütigte sie und gab sie Plünderern preis, bis er sie aus seiner Gegenwart verstieß.
21 for He hath rent Israel from the house of David, and they make Jeroboam son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam driveth Israel from after Jehovah, and hath caused them to sin a great sin,
Denn als sich Israel vom Hause David losgerissen, und sie Jerobeam, den Sohn Nebats, zum Könige gemacht hatten, da trieb Jerobeam die Israeliten zum Abfall von Jahwe und verführte sie zu schwerer Sünde.
22 and the sons of Israel walk in all the sins of Jeroboam that he did, they have not turned aside therefrom,
Also wandelten die Israeliten in allen den Sünden, die Jerobeam angestiftet hatte; sie ließen nicht von ihnen,
23 till that Jehovah hath turned Israel aside from His presence, as He spake by the hand of all His servants the prophets, and Israel is removed from off its land to Asshur, unto this day.
bis Jahwe die Israeliten aus seiner Gegenwart hinwegschaffte, wie er durch alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, gedroht hatte. Also wanderten die Israeliten von ihrem Boden hinweg nach Assyrien in die Gefangenschaft und blieben da bis auf den heutigen Tag.
24 And the king of Asshur bringeth in from Babylon and from Cutha, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and Sepharvaim, and causeth [them] to dwell in the cities of Samaria instead of the sons of Israel, and they possess Samaria, and dwell in its cities;
Der König von Assyrien aber ließ Leute aus Babel, Kutha, Awwa, Hamath und Sepharwaim kommen und siedelte sie an Stelle der Israeliten in den Städten von Samaria an. Also nahmen sie die Landschaft Samaria in Besitz und wohnten in deren Städten.
25 and it cometh to pass, at the commencement of their dwelling there, they have not feared Jehovah, and Jehovah doth send among them the lions, and they are destroying among them.
Da sie aber in der ersten Zeit, in der sie dort wohnten, Jahwe nicht verehrten, sandte Jahwe Löwen unter sie; die richteten ein Würgen unter ihnen an.
26 And they speak to the king of Asshur, saying, 'The nations that thou hast removed, and dost place in the cities of Samaria, have not known the custom of the God of the land, and He sendeth among them the lions, and lo, they are destroying them, as they do not know the custom of the God of the land.'
Da meldete man dem Könige von Assyrien: Die Völkerschaften, die du aus ihrer Heimat weggeführt und in den Städten Samarias angesiedelt hast, wissen nicht, was für eine Verehrung dem Landesgotte gebührt.
27 And the king of Asshur commandeth, saying, 'Cause to go thither one of the priests whom ye removed thence, and they go and dwell there, and he doth teach them the custom of the God of the land.'
Da befahl der König von Assyrien also: Laß einen der Priester hingehen, die ich von dort weggeführt habe, daß er hingehe und sich dort niederlasse und sie lehre, was für eine Verehrung dem Landesgotte gebührt.
28 And one of the priests whom they removed from Samaria cometh in, and dwelleth in Beth-El, and he is teaching them how they do fear Jehovah,
Da kam einer von den Priestern, die sie aus Samaria weggeführt hatten, und ließ sich in Bethel nieder; der lehrte sie fortan, wie sie Jahwe zu verehren hätten.
29 and they are making each nation its gods, and place [them] in the houses of the high places that the Samaritans have made, each nation in their cities where they are dwelling.
Sie fertigten sich aber, Volk für Volk, je ihren eigenen Gott an und stellten ihn in den Höhentempeln auf, welche die Samariter errichtet hatten, jedes Volk in seinen Städten, in denen sie ansässig waren.
30 And the men of Babylon have made Succoth-Benoth, and the men of Cuth have made Nergal, and the men of Hamath have made Ashima,
Die Leute von Babel nämlich fertigten Sukkoth-Benoth an, und die von Kuth fertigten einen Nergal an; die von Hammath fertigten einen Assima an,
31 and the Avites have made Nibhaz and Tartak, and the Sepharvites are burning their sons with fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, gods of Sepharvim.
und die Awwiter fertigten einen Nibchas und einen Tharthak an; die Sepharwiter aber verbrannten dem Adrammelech und Anammelech, den Göttern von Sepharwaim, ihre Kinder.
32 And they are fearing Jehovah, and make to themselves from their extremities priests of high places, and they are acting for them in the house of the high places.
Daneben verehrten sie auch Jahwe und bestellten sich beliebige Leute aus ihrer Mitte zu Höhenproiestern; die opferten für sie in den Höhentempeln.
33 Jehovah they are fearing, and their gods they are serving, according to the custom of the nations whence they removed them.
Jahwe verehrten sie, dienten aber gleichzeitig auch ihren Göttern, nach der Weise der Völker, aus deren Bereiche man sie weggeführt hatte.
34 Unto this day they are doing according to the former customs — they are not fearing Jehovah, and are not doing according to their statutes, and according to their ordinances, and according to the law, and according to the command, that Jehovah commanded the sons of Jacob whose name He made Israel,
Bis auf den heutigen Tag thun sie nach der alten Weise. Jahwe verehren sie nicht, noch handeln sie nach ihren Satzungen und nach ihrer Weise und nach dem Gesetz und Gebot, das Jahwe den Söhnen Jakobs anbefahl, welchem er den namen Israel gab.
35 and Jehovah maketh with them a covenant, and chargeth them, saying, 'Ye do not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them,
Jahwe aber schloß einen Bund mit ihnen und gebot ihnen: Verehrt keine anderen Götter! Betet sie nicht an, dient ihnen nicht und opfert ihnen nicht;
36 but Jehovah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a stretched-out arm, Him ye do fear, and to Him ye bow yourselves, and to Him ye do sacrifice;
sondern Jahwe, der euch mit großer Kraft und ausgerecktem Arm aus Ägypten hergeführt hat, den verehrt, den betet an und dem opfert!
37 and the statutes, and the judgments, and the law, and the command, that He wrote for you, ye observe to do all the days, and ye do not fear other gods;
Die Satzungen und Rechte aber, das Gesetz und das Gebot, das er euch vorgeschrieben hat, sollt ihr beobachten, daß ihr allezeit darnach thut, und sollt nicht andere Götter verehren.
38 and the covenant that I have made with you ye do not forget, and ye do not fear other gods;
Und des Bundes, den ich mit euch geschlossen habe, vergesset nicht und verehrt keine anderen Götter;
39 but Jehovah your God ye do fear, and He doth deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies;'
sondern Jahwe, eueren Gott, sollt ihr verehren, so wird er euch aus der Gewalt aller eurer Feinde erretten!
40 and they have not hearkened, but according to their former custom they are doing,
Sie gehorchten jedoch nicht, sondern thun nach ihrer alten Weise.
41 and these nations are fearing Jehovah, and their graven images they have served, both their sons and their sons' sons; as their fathers did, they are doing unto this day.
Also verehrten diese Völkerschaften Jahwe, dienten aber auch zugleich ihren Schnitzbildern. Und was ihre Kinder und Enkel betrifft, so thun auch sie, wie ihre Väter gethan haben, bis auf den heutigen Tag.
