2 Chronicles 6
1 Then said Solomon, 'Jehovah said — to dwell in thick darkness,
Então disse Salomão: O Senhor tem dito que habitaria nas trevas.
2 and I — I have built a house of habitation for Thee, and a fixed place for Thy dwelling to the ages.'
E eu te tenho edificado uma casa para morada, e um lugar para a tua eterna habitação.
3 And the king turneth round his face, and blesseth the whole assembly of Israel, and the whole assembly of Israel is standing,
Então o rei virou o seu rosto, e abençoou a toda a congregação de Israel, e toda a congregação de Israel estava em pé
4 and he saith, 'Blessed [is] Jehovah, God of Israel, who hath spoken with His mouth with David my father, and with His hands hath fulfilled [it], saying:
E ele disse: bendito seja o Senhor Deus de Israel, que falou pela sua boca a David meu pai; e pelas suas mãos o cumpriu, dizendo:
5 'From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;
Desde o dia em que tirei a meu povo da terra do Egito, não escolhi cidade alguma de todas as tribos de Israel, para edificar nela uma casa em que estivesse o meu nome; nem escolhi homem algum para ser chefe do meu povo, Israel.
6 and I fix on Jerusalem for My name being there, and I fix on David to be over My people Israel.
Porém escolhi a Jerusalém, para que ali estivesse o meu nome; e escolhi a David, para que tivesse cargo do meu povo, Israel.
7 'And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah God of Israel,
Também David meu pai teve no seu coração o edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor, Deus de Israel.
8 and Jehovah saith unto David my father, Because that it hath been with thy heart to build a house for My name, thou hast done well that it hath been with thy heart,
Porém o Senhor disse a David meu pai: Porquanto tiveste no teu coração o edificar uma casa ao meu nome, bem fizeste, de ter isto no teu coração.
9 but thou dost not build the house, for thy son who cometh forth out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.
Contudo tu não edificarás a casa, mas teu filho, que há de proceder de teus lombos, esse edificará a casa ao meu nome.
10 'And Jehovah doth establish His word that He spake, and I rise up in the stead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah spake, and I build the house for the name of Jehovah, God of Israel,
Assim confirmou o Senhor a sua palavra, que ele falou; porque eu me levantei em lugar de David meu pai, e me assentei sobre o trono de Israel, como o Senhor disse, e edifiquei a casa ao nome do Senhor, Deus de Israel.
11 and I place there the ark, where [is] the covenant of Jehovah that He made with the sons of Israel.'
E pus nela a arca, em que está o concerto do Senhor que fez com os filhos de Israel.
12 And he standeth before the altar of Jehovah, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth out his hand, —
E pôs-se em pé perante o altar do Senhor, defronte de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos.
13 for Solomon hath made a scaffold of brass, and putteth it in the midst of the court, five cubits its length, and five cubits its breadth, and three cubits its height, and he standeth upon it, and kneeleth on his knees over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreadeth forth his hands towards the heavens —
Porque Salomão tinha feito uma base de metal, de cinco côvados de comprimento, e de cinco côvados de largura, e de três côvados de altura, e a tinha posto no meio do pátio, e pôs-se nela em pé, e ajoelhou-se de joelhos em presença de toda a congregação de Israel, e estendeu as suas mãos para o céu
14 and saith, 'O Jehovah God of Israel, there is not like Thee a god in the heavens and in the earth, keeping the covenant and the kindness for Thy servants who are walking before Thee with all their heart;
E disse: Ó Senhor, Deus de Israel, não há Deus semelhante a ti, nem nos céus nem na terra; que guardas o concerto e a beneficência aos teus servos que caminham perante ti de todo o seu coração.
15 who hast kept for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him; yea, Thou dost speak with Thy mouth, and with Thy hand hast fulfilled [it], as at this day.
Que guardaste ao teu servo David, meu pai, o que lhe falaste: porque tu pela tua boca o disseste, e pela tua mão o cumpriste, como se vê neste dia.
16 'And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst speak to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel, only, if thy sons watch their way to walk in My law, as thou hast walked before Me.
Agora pois, Senhor, Deus de Israel, guarda ao teu servo David, meu pai, o que falaste, dizendo: Nunca faltará de ti varão de diante de mim que se assente sobre o trono de Israel; tão somente que teus filhos guardem seu caminho, andando na minha lei, como tu andaste diante de mim
17 'And now, O Jehovah, God of Israel, is Thy word stedfast that Thou hast spoken to Thy servant, to David,
E agora, Senhor Deus de Israel, verifique-se a tua palavra, que falaste ao teu servo, a David.
18 (for is it true? — God dwelleth with man on the earth! Lo, the heavens, and the heavens of the heavens, do not contain Thee, how much less this house that I have built?)
Mas verdadeiramente habitará Deus com os homens na terra? eis que os céus e o céu dos céus não te podem conter, quanto menos esta casa que tenho edificado?
19 'And Thou hast turned unto the prayer of Thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Jehovah my God, to hearken unto the cry and unto the prayer that Thy servant is praying before Thee,
Atende pois à oração do teu servo, e à sua súplica, ó Senhor meu Deus: para ouvires o clamor, e a oração, que o teu servo ora perante ti.
20 for Thine eyes being open towards this house by day and by night, towards the place that Thou hast said to put Thy name there, to hearken unto the prayer that Thy servant prayeth towards this place.
Que os teus olhos estejam dia e noite abertos sobre este lugar, de que disseste que ali porias o teu nome; para ouvires a oração que o teu servo orar neste lugar.
21 'And Thou hast hearkened unto the supplications of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, that they pray towards this place, and Thou dost hear from the place of Thy dwelling, from the heavens, and hast hearkened, and forgiven.
Ouve pois as suplicas do teu servo, e do teu povo Israel, que orarem neste lugar; e ouve tu do lugar da tua habitação, desde os céus; ouve pois, e perdoa.
22 'If a man doth sin against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up on him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house —
Quando alguém pecar contra o seu próximo, e lhe impuzer juramento de maldição, para se amaldiçoar a si mesmo, e o juramento de maldição vier perante o teu altar, nesta casa
23 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast done, and hast judged Thy servants, to give back to the wicked, to put his way on his head, and to declare righteous the righteous, to give to him according to his righteousness.
Ouve tu então desde os céus, e obra, e julga a teus servos, pagando ao ímpio, lançando o seu proceder sobre a sua cabeça: e justificando ao justo, dando-lhe segundo a sua justiça.
24 'And if Thy people Israel is smitten before an enemy, because they sin against Thee, and they have turned back and confessed Thy name, and prayed and made supplication before Thee in this house —
Quando também o teu povo Israel for ferido diante do inimigo, por ter pecado contra ti, e eles se converterem, e confessarem o teu nome, e orarem e suplicarem perante ti nesta casa,
25 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy people Israel, and caused them to turn back unto the ground that Thou hast given to them, and to their fathers.
Então ouve tu desde os céus, e perdoa os pecados de teu povo Israel; e fa-los tornar à terra que lhes tens dado a eles e a seus pais.
26 'In the heavens being restrained, and there is no rain, because they sin against Thee, and they have prayed towards this place, and confessed Thy name — from their sin they turn back because Thou dost afflict them —
Quando os céus se cerrarem, e não houver chuva, por terem pecado contra ti, e orarem neste lugar, e confessarem teu nome, e se converterem dos seus pecados, quando tu os afligires,
27 then Thou dost hear in the heavens, and hast forgiven the sin of Thy servants, and of Thy people Israel, because Thou directest them unto the good way in which they walk, and hast given rain on Thy land that Thou hast given to Thy people for an inheritance.
Então ouve tu desde os céus, e perdoa o pecado de teus servos, e do teu povo Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho, em que andem; e dá chuva sobre a tua terra, que deste ao teu povo em herança.
28 'Famine, when it is in the land, pestilence, when it is, blasting, and mildew, locust, and caterpillar, when they are, when its enemies have distressed it in the land — its gates, any plague and any sickness;
Havendo fome na terra, havendo peste, havendo queimadura dos trigos, ou ferrugem, gafanhotos, ou lagarta, cercando-a algum dos seus inimigos nas terras das suas portas, ou quando houver qualquer praga, ou qualquer enfermidade,
29 any prayer, any supplication that is for any man, and for all Thy people Israel, when they know each his own plague, and his own pain, and he hath spread out his hands towards this house:
Toda a oração, e toda a súplica, que qualquer homem fizer, ou todo o teu povo Israel, conhecendo cada um a sua praga, e a sua dor, e estender as suas mãos para esta casa,
30 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast forgiven, and hast given to each according to all his ways (because Thou knowest his heart, for Thou — Thou only — hast known the heart of the sons of men),
Então ouve tu desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, e perdoa, e dá a cada um conforme a todos os seus caminhos, segundo conheces o seu coração (pois só tu conheces o coração dos filhos dos homens),
31 so that they fear Thee, to walk in Thy ways, all the days that they are living on the face of the ground that Thou hast given to our fathers.
A fim de que te temam, para andarem nos teus caminhos, todos os dias que viverem na terra que deste a nossos pais.
32 'And also, unto the stranger who is not of Thy people Israel, and he hath come from a land afar off for the sake of Thy great name, and Thy strong hand, and Thy stretched-out arm, and they have come in and prayed towards this house:
Assim também ao estrangeiro, que não for do teu povo Israel, mas vier de terras remotas por amor do teu grande nome, e da tua poderosa mão, e do teu braço estendido: vindo eles e orando nesta casa,
33 then Thou dost hear from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast done according to all that the stranger calleth unto Thee for: so that all the peoples of the earth do know Thy name, so as to fear Thee, as Thy people Israel, and to know that Thy name is called on this house that I have built.
Então ouve tu desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, e faze conforme a tudo o que o estrangeiro te suplicar: a fim de que todos os povos da terra conheçam o teu nome, e te temam, como o teu povo Israel; e afim de saberem que pelo teu nome é chamada esta casa que edifiquei.
34 'When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemies in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Thee the way of this city that Thou hast fixed on, and the house that I have built for Thy name:
Quando o teu povo sair à guerra contra os seus inimigos, pelo caminho que os enviares, e orarem a ti para a banda desta cidade que escolheste, e desta casa, que edifiquei ao teu nome;
35 then Thou hast heard from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and hast maintained their cause.
Ouve então desde os céus a sua oração, e a sua súplica, e executa o seu direito.
36 'When they sin against Thee — for there is not a man who sinneth not — and Thou hast been angry with them, and hast given them before an enemy, and taken them captive have their captors, unto a land far off or near;
Quando pecarem contra ti (pois não há homem que não peque), e tu te indignares contra eles, e os entregares diante do inimigo, para que os que os cativarem os levem em cativeiro para alguma terra, remota ou vizinha,
37 and they have turned [it] back unto their heart in the land whither they have been taken captive, and have turned back, and made supplication unto Thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done perversely, and have done wickedly;
E na terra, para onde forem levados em cativeiro, tornarem em si, e se converterem, e na terra do seu cativeiro, a ti suplicarem, dizendo: pecamos, perversamente fizemos, e impiamente obramos;
38 yea, they have turned back unto Thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their captivity, whither they have taken them captive, and they have prayed the way of their land that Thou hast given to their fathers, and of the city that Thou hast chosen, and of the house that I have built for Thy name:
E se converterem a ti com todo o seu coração e com toda a sua alma, na terra do seu cativeiro, a que os levaram presos, e orarem para a banda da sua terra, que deste a seus pais, e desta cidade que escolheste, e desta casa que edifiquei ao teu nome,
39 then Thou hast heard from the heavens, from the settled place of Thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplications, and hast maintained their cause, and forgiven Thy people who have sinned against Thee.
Ouve então desde os céus, do assento da tua habitação, a sua oração e as suas suplicas, e executa o seu direito; e perdoa ao teu povo que houver pecado contra ti.
40 'Now, my God, let, I beseech Thee, Thine eyes be open, and Thine ears attentive, to the prayer of this place:
Agora pois, ó meu Deus, estejam os teus olhos abertos, e os teus ouvidos atentos à oração deste lugar.
41 and now, rise, O Jehovah God, to Thy rest, Thou, and the ark of Thy strength; Thy priests, O Jehovah God, are clothed with salvation, and Thy saints rejoice in the goodness,
Levanta-te pois agora, Senhor Deus, para o teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua fortaleza: os teus sacerdotes, ó Senhor Deus, sejam vestidos de salvação, e os teus santos se alegrem do bem.
42 O Jehovah God, turn not back the face of Thine anointed, be mindful of the kind acts of David Thy servant.'
Ah! Senhor Deus, não faças virar o rosto do teu ungido: lembra-te das misericórdias de David teu servo.
