2 Chronicles 36

1 And the people of the land take Jehoahaz son of Josiah, and cause him to reign instead of his father in Jerusalem.

مردم یهودا یهوآحاز پسر یوشیا را به جای پدرش در اورشلیم به تخت سلطنت نشاندند.

2 A son of three and twenty years [is] Jehoahaz in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

یهوآحاز در سن بیست و سه سالگی پادشاه شد و سه ماه در اورشلیم سلطنت نمود.

3 and turn him aside doth the king of Egypt in Jerusalem, and fineth the land a hundred talents of silver, and a talent of gold;

پادشاه مصر او را در اورشلیم معزول کرد و از یهودا حدود ۳٬۴۰۰ کیلوگرم نقره و ۳۴ کیلوگرم طلا باج گرفت.

4 and the king of Egypt causeth Eliakim his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem, and turneth his name to Jehoiakim; and Jehoahaz his brother hath Necho taken, and bringeth him in to Egypt.

پادشاه مصر، اِلیاقیم برادر یهوآحاز را بر تخت سلطنت یهودا در اورشلیم نشاند و نام اِلیاقیم را یهویاقیم گذاشت و یهوآحاز را به مصر به اسیری برد.

5 A son of twenty and five years [is] Jehoiakim in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God;

یهویاقیم بیست و پنج ساله بود که پادشاه شد و یازده سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. او نسبت به خداوند، خدای خود گناه ورزید.

6 against him hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and bindeth him in brazen fetters to take him away to Babylon.

نِبوکَدنِصَّر، پادشاه بابِل اورشلیم را گرفت و یهویاقیم را به زنجیر بسته، او را به بابِل برد.

7 And of the vessels of the house of Jehovah hath Nebuchadnezzar brought in to Babylon, and putteth them in his temple in Babylon.

نِبوکَدنِصَّر مقداری از اشیاء قیمتی خانهٔ خداوند را گرفته، به بابِل برد و در معبد خود گذاشت.

8 And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and his abominations that he hath done, and that which is found against him, lo, they are written on the book of the kings of Israel and Judah, and reign doth Jehoiachin his son in his stead.

شرح بقیهٔ رویدادهای دوران سلطنت یهویاقیم و تمام شرارتها و بدیهایی که کرد در کتاب «تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل و یهودا» نوشته شده است. پس از او، پسرش یهویاکین پادشاه شد.

9 A son of eight years is Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months and ten days he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah;

یهویاکین هجده ساله بود که پادشاه شد، و سه ماه و ده روز در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد. او نیز نسبت به خداوند گناه ورزید.

10 and at the turn of the year hath king Nebuchadnezzar sent and bringeth him in to Babylon, with the desirable vessels of the house of Jehovah, and causeth Zedekiah his brother to reign over Judah and Jerusalem.

در فصل بهار نِبوکَدنِصَّر پادشاه او را اسیر کرده همراه اشیاء قیمتی خانهٔ خداوند به بابِل برد. نِبوکَدنِصَّر، صدقیا، عموی یهویاکین را به پادشاهی یهودا و اورشلیم منصوب کرد.

11 A son of twenty and one years [is] Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

صدقیا در سن بیست و یک سالگی پادشاه شد و یازده سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.

12 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah his God, he hath not been humbled before Jeremiah the prophet [speaking] from the mouth of Jehovah;

او نیز نسبت به خداوند، خدای خود گناه ورزید و به پیام ارمیای نبی که از جانب خداوند سخن می‌گفت، گوش نداد.

13 and also, against king Nebuchadnezzar he hath rebelled, who had caused him to swear by God, and he hardeneth his neck, and strengtheneth his heart, against turning back unto Jehovah, God of Israel.

او هر چند برای نِبوکَدنِصَّر به نام خدا سوگند صداقت و وفاداری یاد کرده بود ولی علیه او قیام کرد. صدقیا با سرسختی به راه خود ادامه داد و نخواست فروتن شود و به سوی خداوند، خدای اسرائیل بازگشت کند.

14 Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Jehovah that He hath sanctified in Jerusalem.

تمام رهبران، کاهنان و مردم یهودا از اعمال قبیح قومهای بت‌پرست پیروی کردند و به این طریق خانهٔ مقدّس خداوند را در اورشلیم نجس ساختند.

15 And Jehovah, God of their fathers, sendeth unto them by the hand of His messengers — rising early and sending — for He hath had pity on His people, and on His habitation,

خداوند، خدای اجدادشان، انبیای خود را یکی پس از دیگری فرستاد تا به ایشان اخطار نمایند، زیرا بر قوم و خانهٔ خود شفقت داشت.

16 and they are mocking at the messengers of God, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Jehovah against His people — till there is no healing.

ولی بنی‌اسرائیل انبیای خدا را مسخره کرده، به پیام آنها گوش ندادند و به ایشان اهانت نمودند تا اینکه خشم خداوند بر آنها افروخته شد به حدی که دیگر برای قوم چاره‌ای نماند.

17 And He causeth to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slayeth their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and hath had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged — the whole He hath given into his hand.

پس خداوند پادشاه بابِل را بر ضد ایشان برانگیخت و تمام مردم یهودا را به دست او تسلیم کرد. او به کشتار مردم یهودا پرداخت و به پیر و جوان، دختر و پسر، رحم نکرد و حتی وارد خانهٔ خدا شد و جوانان آنجا را نیز کشت.

18 And all the vessels of the house of God, the great and the small, and the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the king and of his princes — the whole he hath brought in to Babylon.

پادشاه بابِل اشیاء قیمتی خانهٔ خدا را، از کوچک تا بزرگ، همه را برداشت و خزانهٔ خانهٔ خداوند را غارت نمود و همراه گنجهای پادشاه و درباریان به بابِل برد.

19 And they burn the house of God, and break down the wall of Jerusalem, and all its palaces they have burnt with fire, and all its desirable vessels — to destruction.

سپس سپاهیان او خانهٔ خدا را سوزاندند، حصار اورشلیم را منهدم کردند، تمام قصرها را به آتش کشیدند و همهٔ اسباب قیمتی آنها را از بین بردند.

20 And he removeth those left of the sword unto Babylon, and they are to him and to his sons for servants, till the reigning of the kingdom of Persia,

آنانی که زنده ماندند به بابِل به اسارت برده شدند و تا به قدرت رسیدن حکومت پارس، اسیر پادشاه بابِل و پسرانش بودند.

21 to fulfil the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, till the land hath enjoyed its sabbaths; all the days of the desolation it kept sabbath — to the fulness of seventy years.

به این طریق، کلام خداوند که به‌وسیلۀ ارمیای نبی گفته شده بود به حقیقت پیوست که سرزمین اسرائیل مدت هفتاد سال استراحت خواهد کرد تا سالهایی را که در آنها قوم اسرائیل قانون شَبّات را شکسته بود جبران کند.

22 And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Jehovah in the mouth of Jeremiah, hath Jehovah waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causeth an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

در سال اول سلطنت کوروش، پادشاه پارس، خداوند آنچه را که توسط ارمیای نبی فرموده بود، به انجام رسانید. خداوند کوروش را بر آن داشت تا فرمانی صادر کند و آن را نوشته، به سراسر قلمرو خود بفرستد. این است متن آن فرمان:

23 'Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, God of the heavens, given to me, and He hath laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that [is] in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Jehovah his God [is] with him, and he doth go up.'

«من، کوروش، پادشاه پارس اعلام می‌دارم که یهوه، خدای آسمانها تمام ممالک جهان را به من بخشیده و به من امر فرموده است که برای او در شهر اورشلیم که در سرزمین یهوداست خانه‌ای بسازم. بنابراین، از تمام یهودیانی که در سرزمین من هستند، کسانی که بخواهند می‌توانند به آنجا بازگردند. خداوند، خدای اسرائیل همراه ایشان باشد!»
