2 Chronicles 33

1 A son of twelve years is Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

Manasés tenía doce años cuando se convirtió en rey, y estuvo gobernando durante cincuenta y cinco años en Jerusalén.

2 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, copiando los caminos repugnantes de las naciones que el Señor había expulsado de la tierra delante de los hijos de Israel.

3 and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father hath broken down, and raiseth altars for Baalim, and maketh shrines, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.

Porque volvió a levantar los lugares altos que había sido derribado por su padre Ezequías; e hizo altares para los baales y columnas de madera, y fue un adorador y siervo de todas las estrellas del cielo;

4 And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah of which Jehovah had said, 'In Jerusalem is My name to the age.'

E hizo altares en la casa del Señor, de lo cual el Señor había dicho: En Jerusalén será la residencia de mi nombre para siempre.

5 And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

E hizo altares para todas las estrellas del cielo en los dos atrios exteriores de la casa del Señor.

6 And he hath caused his sons to pass over through fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

Más que esto, hizo que sus hijos atravesaran el fuego en el valle del hijo de Hinom; e hizo uso de la hechicería, adivinación para leer el futuro, invocación de espíritus, y dio posiciones a los que tenían el control de los espíritus y hechicería. Hizo mucho mal ante los ojos del Señor y lo llevó a la ira.

7 And he placeth the graven image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name to the age,

Y puso él ídolo que había hecho, en él templo de Dios, él templo que Dios había dicho a David y a su hijo Salomón: en este templo, y en Jerusalén, el pueblo que he hecho mío. De todas las tribus de Israel, pondré mi nombre para siempre.

8 and I add not to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them — to all the law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

Y nunca más permitiré que los pies de Israel sean sacados de la tierra que he dado a sus padres; si solo se ocuparan de cumplir todas mis órdenes, incluso todas las leyes, las órdenes y las reglas que Moisés les dio.

9 And Manasseh maketh Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

Y Manasés hizo que Judá y el pueblo de Jerusalén salieran de la manera verdadera, de modo que hicieron más mal que aquellas naciones que el Señor entregó a la destrucción delante de los hijos de Israel.

10 And Jehovah speaketh unto Manasseh and unto his people, and they have not attended,

Y la palabra del Señor vino a Manasés y a su pueblo, pero no les prestaron atención.

11 and Jehovah bringeth in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur hath, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with brazen fetters, and cause him to go to Babylon.

Entonces el Señor envió contra ellos a los capitanes del ejército de Asiria, quienes hicieron a Manasés prisionero y lo llevaron encadenado a Babilonia.

12 And when he is in distress he hath appeased the face of Jehovah his God, and is humbled exceedingly before the God of his fathers,

Y clamando al Señor su Dios en su angustia, se humilló ante el Dios de sus padres,

13 and prayeth unto Him, and He is entreated of him, and heareth his supplication, and bringeth him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knoweth that Jehovah — He [is] God.

Y le hizo oración; y en respuesta a su oración, Dios le permite regresar a Jerusalén y a su reino. Entonces Manasés estaba seguro de que el Señor era Dios.

14 And after this he hath built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the fish-gate, and it hath gone round to the tower, and he maketh it exceeding high, and he putteth heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.

Después de esto, hizo un muro exterior para la ciudad de David, en el lado oeste de Gihón en el valle, hasta el camino hacia la ciudad por la puerta de los peces; y puso un muro muy alto alrededor del Ofel; y puso capitanes del ejército en todas las ciudades amuralladas de Judá.

15 And he turneth aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of Jehovah, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Jehovah and in Jerusalem, and casteth [them] to the outside of the city.

Quitó los dioses extraños y la imagen de la casa del Señor, y todos los altares que había colocado en la colina de la casa del Señor y en Jerusalén, y los sacó de la ciudad.

16 And he buildeth the altar of Jehovah, and sacrificeth upon it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and saith to Judah to serve Jehovah, God of Israel;

Y ordenó el altar del Señor, ofreciéndole ofrendas de paz y alabanzas, y dijo que todo Judá debía ser siervo del Señor, el Dios de Israel.

17 but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only — to Jehovah their God.

Sin embargo, la gente todavía hacía ofrendas en los lugares altos, pero solo al Señor su Dios.

18 And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking unto him in the name of Jehovah, God of Israel, lo, they are [on the book of] the matters of the kings of Israel;

Los demás hechos de Manasés y su oración a su Dios, y las palabras que los videntes le dijeron en el nombre del Señor, el Dios de Israel, están registrados entre los actos de los reyes de israel.

19 and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the shrines and the graven images before his being humbled, lo, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.

Y la oración que hizo a Dios, y cómo Dios le dio una respuesta, y todo su pecado y su maldad, y los lugares donde hizo altos lugares y levantó pilares de madera e imágenes, antes de humillarse, están registrados en la historia de los profetas.

20 And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.

Entonces Manasés murió y lo enterraron en su casa, y Amón, su hijo, se convirtió en rey en su lugar.

21 A son of twenty and two years [is] Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

Amón tenía veintidós años cuando se convirtió en rey; y estuvo gobernando durante dos años en Jerusalén.

22 and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father, and to all the graven images that Manasseh his father had made hath Amon sacrificed, and serveth them,

E hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, como había hecho Manasés su padre; y Amón hizo ofrendas y rindió culto a todas las imágenes que su padre Manasés había hecho.

23 and hath not been humbled before Jehovah, like the humbling of Manasseh his father, for Amon himself hath multiplied guilt.

No se humilló ante el Señor, como había hecho su padre Manasés, sino que siguió pecando cada vez más.

24 And his servants conspire against him, and put him to death in his own house,

Y sus siervos hicieron un plan secreto contra él, y lo mataron en su casa.

25 and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.

Pero la gente de la tierra mató a todos los que habían participado en el plan contra el rey Amón, e hicieron rey a su hijo Josías en su lugar.
