2 Chronicles 11
1 And Rehoboam cometh in to Jerusalem, and assembleth the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors, to fight with Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
Și când Roboam a venit la Ierusalim, a strâns din casa lui Iuda și a lui Beniamin, o sută optzeci de mii de bărbați aleși, care erau războinici, să lupte împotriva lui Israel, ca să aducă împărăția înapoi la Roboam.
2 And a word of Jehovah is unto Shemaiah, a man of God, saying,
Dar cuvântul DOMNULUI a venit la Șemaia, omul lui Dumnezeu, spunând:
3 'Speak unto Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah, and unto all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
Vorbește lui Roboam, fiul lui Solomon, împăratul lui Iuda, și întregului Israel în Iuda și Beniamin, zicând:
4 Thus said Jehovah, Ye do not go up nor fight with your brethren, turn back each to his house, for from Me hath this thing been;' and they hear the words of Jehovah, and turn back from going against Jeroboam.
Astfel spune DOMNUL: Să nu urcați, nici să nu luptați împotriva fraților voștri: întoarceți-vă, fiecare om, la casa lui, fiindcă acest lucru este făcut de mine. Și ei au ascultat de cuvintele DOMNULUI, și s-au întors de la a merge împotriva lui Ieroboam.
5 And Rehoboam dwelleth in Jerusalem, and buildeth cities for a bulwark in Judah,
Și Roboam a locuit în Ierusalim și a construit cetăți de apărare în Iuda.
6 yea, he buildeth Beth-Lehem and Etam, and Tekoa,
A construit chiar Betleem și Etam și Tecoa,
7 and Beth-Zur, and Shocho, and Adullam,
Și Bet-Țur și Soco și Adulam,
8 and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
Și Gat și Mareșa și Zif,
9 and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
Și Adoraim și Lachis și Azeca,
10 and Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, that [are] in Judah and in Benjamin, cities of bulwarks.
Și Țoreea și Aialon și Hebron, care sunt în Iuda și Beniamin, cetăți întărite.
11 And he strengtheneth the bulwarks, and putteth in them leaders, and treasures of food, and oil, and wine,
Și a fortificat întăriturile și a pus căpetenii în ele și provizii de mâncare și de untdelemn și vin.
12 and in every city and city targets and spears, and strengtheneth them very greatly; and he hath Judah and Benjamin.
Și în fiecare cetate a pus scuturi și sulițe și le-a făcut peste măsură de tari, având pe Iuda și pe Beniamin de partea sa.
13 And the priests, and the Levites, that [are] in all Israel, have stationed themselves by him, out of all their border,
Și preoții și leviții, care erau în tot Israelul, au venit la el din toate hotarele lor,
14 for the Levites have left their suburbs and their possession, and they come to Judah and to Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons have cast them off from acting as priests to Jehovah,
Fiindcă leviții și-au părăsit împrejurimile și toate stăpânirile lor și au venit la Iuda și Ierusalim, căci Ieroboam și fiii lui îi alungaseră din îndeplinirea serviciului preoțesc pentru DOMNUL;
15 and he establisheth to him priests for high places, and for goats, and for calves, that he made —
Și a rânduit preoți pentru înălțimi și pentru draci și pentru vițeii pe care i-a făcut.
16 and after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those giving their heart to seek Jehovah, God of Israel, have come in to Jerusalem to sacrifice to Jehovah, God of their father.
Și, după ei, din toate triburile lui Israel, aceia care au pus în inima lor să caute pe DOMNUL Dumnezeul lui Israel, au venit la Ierusalim să sacrifice DOMNULUI Dumnezeului părinților lor.
17 And they strengthen the kingdom of Judah, and strengthen Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.
Astfel ei au întărit împărăția lui Iuda și au întărit pe Roboam, fiul lui Solomon, trei ani, căci trei ani au umblat în calea lui David și Solomon.
18 And Rehoboam taketh to him a wife, Mahalath, child of Jerimoth son of David, [and] Abigail daughter of Eliab, son of Jesse.
Și Roboam și-a luat pe Mahalat, fiica lui Ierimot, fiul lui David, ca soție, și pe Abihail, fiica lui Eliab, fiul lui Isai,
19 And she beareth to him sons, Jeush, and Shamaria, and Zaham.
Care i-a născut copii: pe Ieuș și pe Șemaria și pe Zaham.
20 And after her he hath taken Maachah daughter of Absalom, and she beareth to him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
Și după ea a luat pe Maaca, fiica lui Absalom, care i-a născut pe Abiia și pe Atai și pe Ziza și pe Șelomit.
21 And Rehoboam loveth Maachah daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines — for eighteen wives he hath taken, and sixty concubines — and he begetteth twenty and eight sons, and sixty daughters.
Și Roboam a iubit pe Maaca, fiica lui Absalom, mai presus de toate soțiile și concubinele lui (căci a luat optsprezece soții și șaizeci de concubine; și a născut douăzeci și opt de fii și șaizeci de fiice).
22 And Rehoboam appointeth for head Abijah son of Maachah, for leader among his brethren, for to cause him to reign.
Și Roboam l-a făcut pe Abiia, fiul Maachei, mai marele, să fie conducător între frații lui, căci s-a gândit să îl facă împărat.
23 And he hath understanding, and spreadeth out of all his sons to all lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all cities of the bulwarks, and giveth to them provision in abundance; and he asketh a multitude of wives.
Și s-a purtat cu înțelepciune și a împrăștiat pe toți copiii lui prin toate țările lui Iuda și Beniamin, până la fiecare cetate întărită, și le-a dat hrană din abundență. Și a dorit o mulțime de soții.
