1 Samuel 31
1 And the Philistines are fighting against Israel, and the men of Israel flee from the face of the Philistines, and fall wounded in mount Gilboa,
Na rĩrĩ, Afilisti makĩhũũrana na Isiraeli; nao andũ a Isiraeli makĩmoorĩra, na aingĩ ao makĩũragĩrwo kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Giliboa.
2 and the Philistines follow Saul and his sons, and the Philistines smite Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, sons of Saul.
Afilisti makĩhatĩrĩria Saũlũ na ariũ ake mũno, na makĩũraga ariũ acio ake, Jonathani, na Abinadabu, na Malikishua.
3 And the battle is hard against Saul, and the archers find him — men with bow — and he is pained greatly by the archers;
Na rĩrĩ, mbaara nĩyaneneheire Saũlũ mũno mũno, na rĩrĩa aikia a mĩguĩ maamũkinyĩrire, makĩmũguraria mũno.
4 and Saul saith to the bearer of his weapons, 'Draw thy sword, and pierce me with it, lest they come — these uncircumcised — and have pierced me, and rolled themselves on me;' and the bearer of his weapons hath not been willing, for he is greatly afraid, and Saul taketh the sword, and falleth upon it.
Nake Saũlũ akĩĩra mũkuui wake wa indo cia mbaara atĩrĩ, “Comora rũhiũ rwaku rwa njora ũũthece naruo, nĩguo andũ aya mataruaga matigooke maatheece na maanyararithie.” No rĩrĩ, mũkuui ũcio wake wa indo cia mbaara agĩĩtigĩra mũno, akĩrega gwĩka ũguo; nĩ ũndũ ũcio Saũlũ akĩoya rũhiũ rwake rwa njora, akĩrũgwĩra.
5 And the bearer of his weapons seeth that Saul [is] dead, and he falleth — he also — on his sword, and dieth with him;
Rĩrĩa mũkuui wake wa indo cia mbaara onire atĩ Saũlũ nĩakua-rĩ, o nake akĩgwĩra rũhiũ rwake rwa njora, agĩkua.
6 and Saul dieth, and three of his sons, and the bearer of his weapons, also all his men, on that day together.
Nĩ ũndũ ũcio Saũlũ, na ariũ ake atatũ, na mukuui wake wa indo cia mbaara, na andũ ake othe magĩkua hamwe mũthenya o ro ũcio.
7 And they see — the men of Israel, who [are] beyond the valley, and who [are] beyond the Jordan — that the men of Israel have fled, and that Saul and his sons have died, and they forsake the cities and flee, and Philistines come in, and dwell in them.
Rĩrĩa andũ a Isiraeli arĩa maarĩ mwena ũcio ũngĩ wa kĩanda na arĩa maarĩ mũrĩmo wa Jorodani moonire atĩ mbũtũ ya ita ya Isiraeli nĩyoora, na atĩ Saũlũ na ariũ ake nĩmakuĩte-rĩ, magĩtiganĩria matũũra mao makĩũra. Nao Afilisti magĩthiĩ magĩtũũra kuo.
8 And it cometh to pass on the morrow, that the Philistines come to strip the wounded, and they find Saul and his three sons fallen on mount Gilboa,
Mũthenya ũyũ ũngĩ, Afilisti magĩthiĩ kũbora ciimba, magĩkora Saũlũ na ariũ ake atatũ makuĩte kũu Kĩrĩma-inĩ kĩa Giliboa.
9 and they cut off his head, and strip off his weapons, and send into the land of the Philistines round about, to proclaim tidings [in] the house of their idols, and [among] the people;
Nao makĩmũtinia mũtwe na makĩoya indo ciake cia mbaara, magĩcooka magĩtũma andũ mathiĩ bũrũri wothe wa Afilisti makaanĩrĩre ũhoro ũcio thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ya mĩhianano yao ya kũhooywo, na kũrĩ andũ ao.
10 and they place his weapons [in] the house of Ashtaroth, and his body they have fixed on the wall of Beth-Shan.
Makĩiga indo cia Saũlũ cia mbaara thĩinĩ wa hekarũ ya Ashitarothu, na mwĩrĩ wake makĩwoherera rũthingo-inĩ rwa Bethi-Shani.
11 And they hear regarding it — the inhabitants of Jabesh-Gilead — that which the Philistines have done to Saul,
No rĩrĩa andũ a Jabeshi-Gileadi maaiguire ũrĩa Afilisti meekĩte Saũlũ-rĩ,
12 and all the men of valour arise, and go all the night, and take the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, from the wall of Beth-Shan, and come in to Jabesh, and burn them there,
njamba ciao cia ita igĩthiĩ ũtukũ wothe nginya Bethi-Shani. Makĩruta mwĩrĩ wa Saũlũ na ya ariũ ake atatũ kuuma rũthingo-inĩ rwa Bethi-Shani, na magĩthiĩ nayo Jabeshi, magĩcooka makĩmĩcinĩra kuo.
13 and they take their bones, and bury [them] under the tamarisk in Jabesh, and fast seven days.
Magĩcooka makĩoya mahĩndĩ macio mao na makĩmathika gĩtina-inĩ kĩa mũtĩ wa mũbinde kũu Jabeshi, na makĩĩhinga kũrĩa irio mĩthenya mũgwanja.
