1 Samuel 23
1 And they declare to David, saying, 'Lo, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah, and they are spoiling the threshing-floors.'
১আর লোকেরা দায়ূদকে এই খবর দিল, “দেখ, পলেষ্টীয়রা কিয়ীলার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছে, আর সবার খামার থেকে শস্য লুট করছে৷”
2 And David asketh at Jehovah, saying, 'Do I go? — and have I smitten among these Philistines?' And Jehovah saith unto David, 'Go, and thou hast smitten among the Philistines, and saved Keilah.'
২তখন দায়ূদ সদাপ্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “আমি কি গিয়ে ঐ পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে আঘাত করব?” সদাপ্রভু দায়ূদকে বললেন, “যাও, সেই পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে আঘাত কর ও কিয়ীলা রক্ষা কর৷”
3 And David's men say unto him, 'Lo, we here in Judah are afraid; and how much more when we go to Keilah, unto the ranks of the Philistines?'
৩দায়ূদের লোকেরা তাঁকে বলল, “দেখুন, আমাদের এই যিহূদা দেশে থাকাই ভয়ের বিষয়; তবে কিয়ীলাতে পলেষ্টীয় সৈন্যদের বিরুদ্ধে যাওয়া আরও কত না ভয়ের বিষয়?”
4 And David addeth again to ask at Jehovah, and Jehovah answereth him, and saith, 'Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into thy hand.'
৪তখন দায়ূদ পুনরায় সদাপ্রভুর কাছে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন; আর সদাপ্রভু উত্তর দিলেন, “ওঠ, কিয়ীলাতে যাও, কারণ আমি পলেষ্টীয়দেরকে তোমার হাতে সমর্পণ করব৷”
5 And David goeth, and his men, to Keilah, and fighteth with the Philistines, and leadeth away their cattle, and smiteth among them — a great smiting, and David saveth the inhabitants of Keilah.
৫তখন দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা কিয়ীলাতে গেলেন এবং পলেষ্টীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করে তাদের পশুদেরকে নিয়ে আসলেন আর তাদেরকে হত্যা করলেন; এই ভাবে দায়ূদ কিয়ীলা-নিবাসীদেরকে রক্ষা করলেন৷
6 And it cometh to pass, in the fleeing of Abiathar son of Ahimelech unto David, to Keilah, an ephod came down in his hand.
৬অহীমেলকের ছেলে অবিয়াথর যখন কিয়ীলাতে দায়ূদের কাছে পালিয়ে যায়, তখন তিনি এক এফোদ হাতে করে এসেছিলেন৷
7 And it is declared to Saul that David hath come in to Keilah, and Saul saith, 'God hath made him known for my hand, for he hath been shut in, to enter into a city of doors and bar.'
৭পরে দায়ূদ কিয়ীলাতে এসেছে, এই খবর পেয়ে শৌল বললেন, “ঈশ্বর তাকে আমার হাতে সমর্পণ করেছেন, কারণ ফটক ও খিলযুক্ত নগরে প্রবেশ করাতে সে আবদ্ধ হয়েছে৷”
8 And Saul summoneth the whole of the people to battle, to go down to Keilah, to lay siege unto David and unto his men.
৮পরে দায়ূদকে ও তার লোকদেরকে আটকাবার জন্য শৌল যুদ্ধের জন্য কিয়ীলাতে যাবার জন্য সব লোককে ডাকলেন৷
9 And David knoweth that against him Saul is devising the evil, and saith unto Abiathar the priest, 'Bring nigh the ephod.'
৯দায়ূদ জানতে পারলেন যে, শৌল তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে খারাপ পরিকল্পনা করছেন, তাই তিনি অবিয়াথর যাজককে বললেন, “এখানে এফোদ আন৷”
10 And David saith, 'Jehovah, God of Israel, Thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul is seeking to come in unto Keilah, to destroy the city on mine account.
১০পরে দায়ূদ বললেন, “হে সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, শৌল কিয়ীলাতে এসে আমার জন্য এই নগর বিনষ্ট করার চেষ্টা করছেন, তোমার দাস আমি এটা শুনলাম৷
11 Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? doth Saul come down as Thy servant hath heard? Jehovah, God of Israel, declare, I pray Thee, to Thy servant.' And Jehovah saith, 'He doth come down.'
১১কিয়ীলার নিবাসীরা কি তাঁর হাতে আমাকে সমর্পণ করবে? তোমার দাস আমি যেমন শুনলাম, সে রকম শৌল কি আসবেন? হে সদাপ্রভু, ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, প্রার্থনা করি, তোমার দাসকে তা বল৷”
12 And David saith, 'Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?' And Jehovah saith, 'They shut [thee] up.'
১২সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “সে আসবে৷” দায়ূদ জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “কিয়ীলার নিবাসীরা কি আমাকে ও আমার লোকদেরকে শৌলের হাতে সমর্পণ করবে?” সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “সমর্পণ করবে৷”
13 And David riseth — and his men — about six hundred men, and they go out from Keilah, and go up and down where they go up and down; and to Saul it hath been declared that David hath escaped from Keilah, and he ceaseth to go out.
১৩তখন দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা, প্রায় ছশো লোক, উঠে কিয়ীলা থেকে বেরিয়ে গিয়ে যেখানে যেতে পারলেন, গেলেন; আর শৌলকে যখন বলা হল যে, দায়ূদ কিয়ীলা থেকে পালিয়ে গেছে, তখন তিনি যাওয়া থামিয়ে দিলেন;
14 And David abideth in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abideth in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeketh him all the days, and God hath not given him into his hand.
১৪পরে দায়ূদ মরুপ্রান্তে নানা সুরক্ষিত জায়গায় বাস করলেন, সীফ মরুপ্রান্তের পাহাড়ী এলাকায় থাকলেন৷ আর শৌল প্রতিদিন তাঁর খোঁজ করলেন, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর তাঁর হাতে তাঁকে সমর্পণ করলেন না৷
15 And David seeth that Saul hath come out to seek his life, and David [is] in the wilderness of Ziph, in a forest.
১৫আর দায়ূদ দেখলেন যে, শৌল আমাকে হত্যা করার জন্য বেরিয়ে এসেছেন৷ তখন দায়ূদ সীফ মরুপ্রান্তের বনে ছিলেন৷
16 And Jonathan son of Saul riseth, and goeth unto David to the forest, and strengtheneth his hand in God,
১৬আর শৌলের ছেলে যোনাথন উঠে বনে দায়ূদের কাছে গিয়ে ঈশ্বরে তাঁর হাত সবল করলেন৷
17 and saith unto him, 'Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father doth not find thee, and thou dost reign over Israel, and I am to thee for second, and also so knoweth Saul my father.'
১৭আর তিনি তাঁকে বললেন, “ভয় কর না, আমার বাবা শৌল তোমাকে খুঁজে পাবে না, আর তুমি ইস্রায়েলের উপরে রাজা হবে এবং আমি তোমার পাশে থাকব, এটা আমার বাবা শৌলও জানেন৷”
18 And they make a covenant both of them before Jehovah; and David abideth in the forest, and Jonathan hath gone to his house.
১৮পরে তাঁরা দুজন সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিয়ম তৈরী করলেন৷ আর দায়ূদ বনে থাকলেন; কিন্তু যোনাথন বাড়ি গেলেন৷
19 And the Ziphites go up unto Saul to Gibeah, saying, 'Is not David hiding himself with us in fortresses, in the forest, in the height of Hachilah, which [is] on the south of the desolate place?
১৯পরে সীফীয়েরা গিবিয়াতে শৌলের কাছে গিয়ে বলল, “দায়ূদ কি আমাদের কাছের মরুপ্রান্তের দক্ষিণে দিকে হখীলা পাহাড়ের বনে কোন সুরক্ষিত জায়গায় লুকিয়ে নেই?
20 And, now, by all the desire of thy soul, O king, to come down, come down, and ours [is] to shut him up into the hand of the king.'
২০অতএব হে রাজা! নেমে আসবার জন্য আপনার মনে যত ইচ্ছা আছে, সেই অনুসারে নেমে আসুন; রাজার হাতে তাকে সমর্পণ করা আমাদের কাজ৷”
21 And Saul saith, 'Blessed [are] ye of Jehovah, for ye have pity on me;
২১শৌল বললেন, “তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর আশীর্বাদ প্রাপ্ত হও, কারণ তোমরা আমার প্রতি দয়া করলে৷
22 go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his foot is; who hath seen him there? for [one] hath said unto me, He is very subtile.
২২তোমরা যাও, আরও খোঁজ নাও, জানো, দেখে নাও, তার পা রাখবার জায়গা কোথায়? আর সেখানে তাকে কে দেখেছে? কারণ দেখ, লোকে আমাকে বলেছে, ‘সে খুব বুদ্ধির সঙ্গে চলে৷’
23 And see and know of all the hiding-places where he hideth himself, and ye have turned back unto me prepared, and I have gone with you, and it hath been, if he is in the land, that I have searched him out through all the thousands of Judah.'
২৩অতএব যে সমস্ত গোপন জায়গায় সে লুকিয়ে থাকে, তার কোন জায়গায় সে আছে, তা দেখ, লক্ষ্য কর, পরে আমার কাছে আবার সঠিক খবর নিয়ে এস, আসলে আমি তোমাদের সঙ্গে যাব; সে যদি দেশে থাকে, তবে আমি যিহূদার সমস্ত হাজারের মধ্যে তার সন্ধান করব৷”
24 And they rise and go to Ziph before Saul, and David and his men [are] in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain, at the south of the desolate place.
২৪তাতে তারা উঠে শৌলের আগে সীফে গেল; কিন্তু দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা মরুপ্রান্তের দক্ষিণে অরাবায়, মায়োন প্রান্তরে, ছিলেন৷
25 And Saul and his men go to seek, and they declare to David, and he goeth down the rock, and abideth in the wilderness of Maon; and Saul heareth, and pursueth after David [to] the wilderness of Maon.
২৫পরে শৌল ও তাঁর লোকেরা তাঁর খোঁজে গেলেন, আর লোকেরা দায়ূদকে তার খবর দিলে তিনি শৈলে নেমে এলেন এবং মায়োন প্রান্তরে থাকলেন৷ তা শুনে শৌল মায়োন মরুপ্রান্তে দায়ূদের পিছনে তাড়া করতে গেলেন৷
26 And Saul goeth on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain, and David is hastened to go from the face of Saul, and Saul and his men are compassing David and his men, to catch them.
২৬আর শৌল পর্বতের এক পার্শ্বে গেলেন এবং দায়ূদ ও তাঁর লোকেরা পর্বতের অন্য পার্শ্বে গেলেন৷ আর দায়ূদ শৌলের ভয়ে অন্য জায়গায় যাবার জন্য দ্রুত এগিয়ে গেলেন; কারণ তাঁকে ও তাঁর লোকদেরকে ধরবার জন্য শৌল নিজের লোকদের সঙ্গে তাঁকে ঘিরে ফেলেছিলেন৷
27 And a messenger hath come in unto Saul, saying, 'Haste, and come, for the Philistines have pushed against the land.'
২৭কিন্তু একজন দূত শৌলের কাছে এস বলল, “আপনি শীঘ্র আসুন, কারণ পলেষ্টীয়রা দেশ আক্রমণ করেছে৷”
28 And Saul turneth back from pursuing after David, and goeth to meet the Philistines, therefore they have called that place 'The Rock of Divisions.'
২৮তখন শৌল দায়ূদের পিছনে তাড়া করা বন্ধ করে ফিরে গিয়ে পলেষ্টীয়দের বিরুদ্ধে গেলেন৷ এই জন্য সেই জায়গার নাম সেলা-হম্মলকোৎ [রক্ষা শৈল] হল৷
29 And David goeth up thence, and abideth in fortresses [at] En-gedi.
২৯পরে দায়ূদ সেখান থেকে উঠে গিয়ে ঐন-গদীস্থ নানা সুরক্ষিত জায়গায় বাস করলেন৷
