1 Peter 5
1 Elders who [are] among you, I exhort, who [am] a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of the Christ, and of the glory about to be revealed a partaker,
૧તમારામાં જે વડીલો છે, તેઓનો હું સાથી વડીલ અને ખ્રિસ્તનાં દુઃખોનો સાક્ષી તથા પ્રગટ થનાર મહિમાનો ભાગીદાર છું, તેથી તેઓને વિનંતી કરું છું કે,
2 feed the flock of God that [is] among you, overseeing not constrainedly, but willingly, neither for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind,
૨ઈશ્વરના લોકોનું જે ટોળું તમારી સંભાળમાં છે તેનું પ્રતિપાલન કરો અધ્યક્ષનું કામ ફરજ પડવાથી નહિ પણ સ્વેચ્છાએ કરો; લોભને સારું નહિ, પણ આતુરતાથી કરો.
3 neither as exercising lordship over the heritages, but patterns becoming of the flock,
૩વળી તમારી જવાબદારીવાળાં સમુદાય પર માલિક તરીકે નહિ, પણ તેમને આદર્શરૂપ થાઓ,
4 and at the manifestation of the chief Shepherd, ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.
૪જયારે મુખ્ય ઘેટાંપાળક પ્રગટ થશે ત્યારે કદી પણ કરમાઈ ન જનાર મહિમાનો મુગટ તમે પામશો.
5 In like manner, ye younger, be subject to elders, and all to one another subjecting yourselves; with humble-mindedness clothe yourselves, because God the proud doth resist, but to the humble He doth give grace;
૫એ જ પ્રમાણે જુવાનો, તમે વડીલોને આધીન થાઓ; અને તમે સઘળા એકબીજાને આધીન થઈને નમ્રતા ધારણ કરો, કેમ કે ઈશ્વર ગર્વિષ્ઠોની વિરુદ્ધ છે, પણ નમ્ર માણસોને કૃપા આપે છે.
6 be humbled, then, under the powerful hand of God, that you He may exalt in good time,
૬એ માટે ઈશ્વરના સમર્થ હાથ નીચે તમે પોતાને નમ્ર કરો તે તમને યોગ્ય સમયે ઉચ્ચસ્થાને બેસાડે.
7 all your care having cast upon Him, because He careth for you.
૭તમારી સર્વ ચિંતા તેમના પર નાખો, કેમ કે તે તમારી સંભાળ રાખે છે.
8 Be sober, vigilant, because your opponent the devil, as a roaring lion, doth walk about, seeking whom he may swallow up,
૮સાવચેત થાઓ, જાગતા રહો; કેમ કે તમારો વૈરી શેતાન ગાજનાર સિંહની જેમ કોઈ મળે તેને ગળી જવાને શોધતો ફરે છે.
9 whom resist, stedfast in the faith, having known the same sufferings to your brotherhood in the world to be accomplished.
૯તમે વિશ્વાસમાં દ્રઢ થઈને તેની સામે થાઓ, કેમ કે તમે જાણો છો કે, દુનિયામાંનાં તમારા ભાઈઓ પર એ જ પ્રકારનાં દુઃખો પડે છે.
10 And the God of all grace, who did call you to His age-during glory in Christ Jesus, having suffered a little, Himself make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle [you]; (aiōnios g166)
૧૦સર્વ કૃપાના ઈશ્વર જેમણે ખ્રિસ્તમાં તમને પોતાના અનંતકાળના મહિમાને સારુ બોલાવ્યા છે, તે પોતે તમે થોડીવાર સહન કરો ત્યાર પછી, તમને પૂર્ણ, સ્થિર તથા બળવાન કરશે. (aiōnios g166)
૧૧તેમને સદાસર્વકાળ સત્તા હોજો, આમીન. (aiōn g165)
12 Through Silvanus, to you the faithful brother, as I reckon, through few [words] I did write, exhorting and testifying this to be the true grace of God in which ye have stood.
૧૨સિલ્વાનસ, જેને હું વિશ્વાસુ ભાઈ માનું છું, તેની હસ્તક મેં ટૂંકમાં તમારા ઉપર લખ્યું છે, અને વિનંતી કરીને સાક્ષી આપી છે કે જે કૃપામાં તમે સ્થિર ઊભા રહો છો, તે ઈશ્વરની ખરી કૃપા છે.
13 Salute you doth the [assembly] in Babylon jointly elected, and Markus my son.
૧૩બાબિલમાંની મંડળી જેને તમારી સાથે પસંદ કરેલી છે તે તથા મારો દીકરો માર્ક તમને સલામ કહે છે.
14 Salute ye one another in a kiss of love; peace to you all who [are] in Christ Jesus! Amen.
૧૪તમે પ્રેમના ચુંબનથી એકબીજાને સલામ કરજો. ઈસુ ખ્રિસ્તમાં તમ સર્વને શાંતિ થાઓ. આમીન.
